Sherri Shepherd shares true feelings about taking control of the ?Wendy Williams Show for the foreseeable future
-
Okay so I know this is a publication that is pro-men and all that jazz, which is why when I start with what I am going to say next, it might prick some of you. But the thing is, men need to know, learn and acknowledge a few things that they do wrong in life, and this might be one of them. And I am sure, most of you would agree.

Being a woman is not easy in itself, let alone at work. And that can mean any kind of work - be it running a business, being a journalist like myself or even being behind the camera and anchoring for a channel. Like the case was with former sports anchor and actress Mandira Bedi.
She was known to host quick tete-a-tete with cricketers and we just loved those quick, candid bites from famous sports personalities right off the field. However, turns out, Mandira didn’t enjoy those as much as we did. Why, you ask? Because she always felt she was being stared down by these cricketers.
© YouTube
In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla , Mandira opened up about her experience while hosting ICC Cricket World Cups in 2003 and 2007. And not just that, she also hosted the Champions Trophies in 2004 and 2006 as well as IPL.
She shared, “Nobody accepted me to begin with, certainly not the people sitting on the panel. I'm friends with all the ex-cricketers now who I worked with back then as well but they didn't like that either. They didn't like that there was a woman wearing a saree, dressed up, talking cricket. Nobody fed me any lines, nobody fed me any questions. I was there to represent the layperson who doesn't know every technicality of cricket, who does not know every nuance of cricket.”
© Twitter
And it didn’t end there.
She went on to share, “I was told whatever question comes to your mind at that particular point of time if you're thinking of asking it. I was given that freedom. Of course, I got stared down by a lot of the cricketers like- what's she even asking, why is she even asking that.”
Mandira then revealed, “They answered whatever they wanted to answer nothing connected to my question and that can be very very intimidating but I kind of was assured by the channel, it was Sony, that backed me and chose me from 150-200 women. They said that we've chosen you with the reason we think you have what it takes to stay, so go ahead and be yourself and start enjoying yourself."

Recently Mandira hosted the show The Love Laugh Live Show and was last seen enjoying at good friend Mouni Roy’s wedding with businessman Suraj Nambiar.

It's no secret that Rekha and Hrithik Roshan share a strong relationship with each other. Rekha played Hrithik's mother in a few films which strengthened their bond. They always meet each other warmly and Rekha has always been vocal about her equation with Hrithik. However, did you know that they once had an unpleasant moment while exchanging pleasantries at an award ceremony?
View this post on Instagram
For the unversed, both Rekha and Hrithik were caught in an embarrassing kiss during an award ceremony. It so happened when both of them crossed paths at the event and were happy to see each other. The duo was almost caught in a lip-lock as they came closer to welcome each other.
Rekha hugged Hrithik as usual and kissed him under the lips rather than on the forehead. Despite the fact that the actress kissed him under the lips, the camera angles made it appear as if they were ready to lock lips. Their awkward moment was captured on camera, and it caused quite a stir on social media. Various pictures of their accidental kiss went viral on social media leaving everyone shocked.

As soon as the pictures were shared on the internet, both the actors were trolled. Fans, who loved their pure mother-son bonding in films, were extremely disappointed. Well, the moment must have been very embarrassing for Hrithik and Rekha too.
For me, it's going to be the most awkward celebrity moment. pic.twitter.com/CJLmD1OLqW

For the unversed, Hrithik and Rekha have worked together in hits like Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish. The evergreen actress played Hrithik’s mother in Koi Mil Gaya which was released in 2003. While in Krrish (2006), she essayed the role of his grandmother.
On the career front, Rekha last played a full-fledged role in Super Nani (2014) and is currently away from films. Hrithik, on the other hand, will next be seen in the official Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha. He is playing a gangster in the much-awaited film co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte. He has also signed Siddharth Anand's Fighter alongside Deepika Padukone.

After Shane Warne's untimely death, a VB beer can, a package of cigarettes, a meat pie, and several flowers were placed in front of his monument at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Even small youngsters who were not born when Warne played cricket paid their tributes to the monument with their parents.
Australian fans who visited the cricketer’s monument at the MCG brought cans of beer and left them on top of the stone base as a tribute, a final cheer with the man who lived life king size and was the heart and soul of the parties wherever he went.

Looking at the monument covered in beer cans in multiple photos that were being shared on social media ever since Warne’s passing away, a lot of his Indian fans were left with a bad taste in their mouth. They felt that the presence of alcohol on something like the statue, which is supposed to be pristine and pure, polluted the tribute that was meant to be given to the legendary spinner.

— Paul Wallbank (@paulwallbank) March 5, 2022 It was also later revealed by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews that The Great Southern Stand at the MCG will also be renamed after the recently deceased Australian bowler.
Warne died unexpectedly while on vacation in Thailand with a group of pals. He was just 52 years old when he passed away. The much-loved party-king was living at a luxurious island property with a games area, infinity pool, and breathtaking views of Thailand. In the early hours of Saturday morning, he was discovered unresponsive at the Samujana Villas resort on the island of Koh Samui.

Earlier today, the former Indian captain, Virat Kohli also expressed his heartbreak after receiving the news of Warne’s death ahead of Day 2 of the first Test match between India and Sri Lanka In Mohali.
Kohli was visibly upset and spoke about life being unpredictable and fickle. He essentially made his fans and viewers reinstate the fact that there is no guarantee on how long a person would get to live. His vulnerability on camera had the fans seeing a very different version of the legendary Indian cricketer as well.

There are two kinds of people in the world, ones who have pets and others who don’t. And while the world is dominated by the latter, I like to think that the former end up making this world a slightly better place to live. And we can say that even while there is a war going on miles away, after a girl from Kerala refused to let go of her dog despite having trouble getting out of the country.
© Twitter
20 year old Arya Aldrin was stuck in the war-torn Ukraine with her six month old Siberian-husky Zaira. Things were getting tense and moving out of the country and across the border wasn’t easy at all. Some thought it might have been easy to leave her behind and run for your own life, but Arya wasn’t going to leave Zaira behind.

“I was firm that if I go back to my country Zaira will accompany me. I really worked hard and was forced to undergo questioning at several points. Some people laughed at me. At one stretch, I had to walk 20 km so I was forced to dump my cloth bags to carry Zaira. I am relieved Zaira is with me,” shared Arya who recently arrived at the Delhi airport on Thursday.

It wasn’t an easy feat to achieve, Arya had to work for two straight days, just to get paperwork for Zaira in order and at one point, even carry her because she had blisters. Arya shared, “Six months-old, the pet dog is not used to long walks. She cooperated with me fully. At one point she was tired as blisters appeared on her pugs so I dumped my bags to carry her.”
Arya rescued her dog too from the war and brought the dog with her all the way to Kerala #UkraineRussiaWar pic.twitter.com/DVTvSDnkS0
— Puncturewala (@mallucomrade) February 28, 2022
A picture of Arya and Zaira from the evacuation bus has gone viral and people on the internet are pouring love for the two. Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty was one of these people who wrote, “It is born out of love and I am sure the world will benefit from such love,” on her facebook post.

What is heartening is to know that Arya wasn’t the only one with a big heart and strong commitment towards her pet. Another medical student from Ukraine, Muhammad Talha also refused to leave his Husky - Oscar behind and found a way somehow to cross over to Poland, with his beloved dog.
Guess, humans have finally learnt the meaning of loyalty from dogs!

Salman Khan has been in the industry for decades, he was doing titular roles in movies back in the day and he continues to do them even now. Not much has changed from then to now and that includes the kind of women he either dates or has launched. Clearly, the guy has a type.
View this post on Instagram
Think about it, Salman Khan may not have gone on record for dating a lot of women that have been speculated to be his girlfriends, but he did create a weird record on his own. And that was to launch actresses that looked eerily similar to his exes.
Here are a few mind-boggling examples that might speak for themselves!
1) Aishwarya Rai & Sneha Ulla © Twitter
Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan allegedly fell in love during the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. They had a strong relationship going until things started falling apart and reports of Salman Khan acting out started coming out. After an ugly break-up in 2002, in 2005 Salman Khan launched a new actress in Bollywood - Sneha Ullal, with the release of film ‘Lucky’.
The actress ended up making more headlines for how strikingly similar she looked to Aishwarya Rai than for her debut film with Salman Khan.
2) Katrina Kaif & Zareen Khan © Twitter
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were rumored to be dating each other for quite some time and the two even did a lot of films together. However, during the shooting of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, when Katrina was in Ooty, sources revealed that the actress had called it quits with Salman in 2009. There was never a direct comment on it from either actor, but that is said to be when Katrina had gotten fed up to the point of breaking things off and moving on.
Suddenly, 1 year later in 2010, Salman Khan launched a new actress in the industry - Zareen Khan, who yet again, looked very similar to her ex girlfriend - Katrina Kaif. So much so, that people started referring to Zareen as ‘Fat Kat’.
3) Katrina Kaif & Elli Avram © Twitter
In fact, Zareen Khan wasn’t the only look-alike actress who was launched by the Radhe actor. He reportedly also launched another actress and dancer, Ellie Avram, after she came to the spotlight with her stint in Bigg Boss 7. And yet again, the similarity between her and Salman’s ex Katrina Kaif, was too hard to ignore.
Although a film with Elli Avram hasn’t been launched yet, we won’t be surprised if it does!

Virat Kohli, the former captain of Team India, offered a heartfelt tribute to Shane Warne, who unfortunately died on Friday at the age of 52. While on vacation in Thailand, the spin magician died after a suspected heart attack.
The cricketing community has expressed its sorrow and grief over the untimely death of the Australian superstar, with Kohli emphasising that life is "unpredictable and fickle" in his tribute.
View this post on Instagram
Kohli began his tribute to Warne by saying how it was after the events of the first day of the India-Sri Lanka series that the team found out about the terrible news. This is when Kohli begins to speak about his thoughts on life, causing fans to see a whole different side of the batter.
The cricketer eloquently articulated how we go about our daily lives and believe that everything revolves around what we are doing at the time; all of our problems, misfortunes, and things to look forward to. However, we rapidly learn that life is incredibly unpredictable and fickle.
"Life is fickle and unpredictable. I stand here in disbelief and shock."@imVkohli pays his tributes to Shane Warne. pic.twitter.com/jwN1qYRDxj
— BCCI (@BCCI) March 5, 2022
“We just need to be grateful for all the moments we are alive. Passing at the age of 52 is something totally unexpected. He went far too early. I stand here with disbelief and shock because I got to know him off the field as well. I understood the persona and charisma he brought to every conversation that he was a part of. From that, I could understand what he brought on the field as well. He was just an honest man up front,” Kohli said in a short video shared by the official Twitter handle of the BCCI.
Warne was the "best spinner of all time," according to the 33-year-old, who expressed his sympathies to the spinner's family and friends. The Australian, largely credited with revolutionising leg-spin bowling, finished his illustrious international career with 708 wickets in 145 Tests.

While Kohli is rarely vulnerable in public and manages to hide his real emotions behind a curtain, being so open and talking about someone so passionately made his fans appreciate him even more.
Here is how some of the fans were felt awe-struck by how nicely Kohli expressed his true feelings for the spinning legend in Mohali:

— Tehzeeb Hassan (@TehzeebHassan07) March 5, 2022 For Kohli, Friday was supposed to be iconic and full of good memories, as it was the day he was honoured with his 100th international Test cap as an Indian cricketer. He even played a decent knock in the first innings and added 45 runs off 76 deliveries to his team’s total before he was bowled out by Lasith Embuldeniya in the 44th over of the match.

Shane Warne died of a 'suspected heart attack' at the age of 52 in Thailand. The sudden demise of one of the best bowlers in the game's history has left the whole cricketing world in shock. The news broke hours after another Australia great Rodney Marsh passed away aged 74.
Warne's teammates and his on-field rivals expressed their grief on social media as tributes came flooding in from all parts of the world.
Legbreaks. Flippers. Batters bamboozled. Fans awestruck. World Cup, Ashes, IPL wins.
The wizard not only revived legspin, he became legspin. A bowling action imitated by the world over.
Thanks for all the memories. The cricket world will miss you terribly, Shane Warne pic.twitter.com/LZcQGLgYx2
— ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) March 4, 2022
However, remarks by former India batting great Sunil Gavaskar during a news channel discussion seems to have triggered a lot of fans. Speaking about Warne, Gavaskar emphasised how the Australian spinner loved to live his life to the fullest and added that it might have been the reason why he passed away at the age of 52.
"He was always full of life, always wanting to say what are you doing in the evening? Let's get together and go have a meal or something like that. He was always looking to live life fully, king size. And he did that and maybe because he lived life in such a manner is perhaps the reason why his heart couldn't take it and he passed away so soon," Gavaskar said.
Watch Gavaskar’s comments here:
Shane Warne's passing away is a big shock....He mastered the art which is very difficult to master which is leg spin: Sunil Gavaskar. #NewsToday #Cricket #RIPShaneWarne | @sardesairajdeep pic.twitter.com/6KqSHf6Tes

Fans called out the former India captain for being insensitive and lacking basic humanness for a legend of the game.
One of the meanest tribute I've ever seen.
— Daman Deep (@JoyPaul99) March 5, 2022Gavaskar classless as usual
— Pranav Ramakanthan (@duality_pranav) March 4, 2022Ffs this's so insensitive. He literally made de*** looks like someone have just retired and started comparing them for cricketing records https://t.co/zPZsYSSbkB
— Monika (@Lostt_Soulll) March 5, 2022Although Sunil Gavaskar is a legend of cricket, some of his opinions are shocking to say the least.
"Because Warne lived his life king-size, his heart couldn't take it". What? #CricketTwitter https://t.co/pWu0oPYFXE
— Ballazo (@ballazosport) March 5, 2022Hate this uncle to the core. Insensitive, brash and waffling things that's not needed. Seriously is this the way you would talk about a legend on TV. Could have just said him and murali were one of the best. High time he retired. Can't tolerate him on comm box as well these days. https://t.co/QrCpqtWxsR
— Shree G (@sg_birdomaniac) March 5, 2022While how Warne lived his life was not hidden from anyone but to comment on someone's lifestyle when an individual has just passed away is just insensitive and Gavaskar should have avoided bringing that up while paying tribute to the leg-spinner.
The 72-year-old former India batter also went on to say that Muttiah Muralitharan and Indian spinners were better than Warne, citing the Australian's record against Indian batters.
RIP Shane Warne 1969-2022
One of the greatest entertainers and match-winners our game has ever seen.
https://t.co/vDSRuwpIog pic.twitter.com/9kdWaolSKY
— ICC (@ICC) March 4, 2022
Warne was one of the greatest bowlers and he picked up over 1,000 wickets across formats in international cricket. His 708 wickets in Tests makes him the second-most successful bowler in the longest format of the game after Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan who had picked up 800 wickets in red-ball cricket.
