Celebrity weddings are always looked up to for trends and inspiration that stars serve at their nuptials, be it with their outfits, chosen venue or customs and traditions.
Be it a long veil from Priyanka Chopra’s wedding or Vikrant Messey’s simple wedding at his bride’s grandparent’s home, people always pick something from these Bollywood weddings as #weddinginspo.

However, it’s when these star couples break gender norms and redefine century-old customs to show their fans and followers a progressive change, is when they actually start a trend worthwhile. And some celebrity grooms have perfectly done that at their wedding.

Here are four such Bollywood men who broke gender stereotypes and redefined conventional norms as grooms:
1. Rajkummar Rao Asked His Bride To Put Sindoor On Him View this post on Instagram
According to Hindu customs, the groom applies sindoor (vermilion) on the bride's forehead. Rajkummar gave this tradition a twist and asked Patralekhaa to put it on his forehead as well.
He shared a clip from his wedding where after applying it on her forehead, he tells her ‘tum bhi laga do’. This gesture was hailed on social media.
2. Anand Tiwari Shedding Tears At ‘Vidaai’ View this post on Instagram
The common thing to happen at weddings is the bride crying at her vidaai. However, the trend is changing now.
While actress Angira Dhar was all smiles at her vidaai, her groom Anand Tiwari got emotional and teared up.

The film director also broke another gender stereotype by rocking a henna art in his hand, with his bride’s name
Although grooms do apply a very small amount of henna as its good omen, here is Anand who went all out and flaunted the henna art.
3. Ranveer Singh Wore An Anarkali Kurta At His Mehendi View this post on Instagram
If there’s one actor who breaks, nah, SMASHES gender stereotypes with his style with every look he sports, it’s Ranveer Singh.
At his wedding too, he chose to not confine to fashion norms set for men and wore an Anarkali kurta for men or ‘manarkali’ for his Mehendi function.
He shared a picture twirling in the outfit. He was also seen with sindoor on his forehead during an outing post the wedding.
4. Virat Kohli Moved To Mumbai Post-Marriage To Anushka Sharma View this post on Instagram
Indian cricketer Virat Kohli redefined the tradition of bringing the bride home and moved from his hometown Delhi to Mumbai for his wife Anushka Sharma.
Knowing that it would be difficult for the actress to move to Delhi due to the nature of her work, Kohli shifted to Mumbai to live with his wife post-wedding.
He broke the gender stereotype AND smashed patriarchy at the same time.
Kudos to these celebs for teaching men that they can choose to smash the patriarchy and not cater to society's norms.

Back in the 80s when social media wasn’t a thing, the paparazzi information was restricted to insider scoop and magazines. Actors Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia were rumoured to be dating back then and even though the rumours were buried eventually, they never really died.
© Twitter
Back in 2017, a video went viral on social media which had the two actors holding hands while sitting at a public place. The two were spotted in London when someone took a video and soon it was all over the internet. The trollers didn’t even spare her son-in-law and daughter Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna.
Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia worked together in the 1984 film Manzil Manzil, and by the time they finished their second movie Arjun in 1985, it was reported that the two are going strong. The duo went on to star in three more films and the reports of their affair continued to make headlines. But, neither of them admitted to it. With each passing year, the reports started to die down and people forgot about it.
The video had convinced fans that there is no smoke without fire and that something was definitely on between the two. Sunny Deol is married and his son Karan Deol has also ventured into Bollywood.

We’ve all made at least one (or more) boss moves in our life. For some, it could have been coming up with the best and most savage comeback, for another it could be to get the girl and how.
But for this gentleman in South Kivu, it meant getting not one, but three women, without even having to lift a finger.
© Twitter
Emerged as what can only be called the ‘real OG’, a man from the Democratic Republic of Congo recently married three women - all of them triplets, after they proposed to him simultaneously.
Clearly, the guy had done something exceptionally great and noble in his past life, to have luck like this.
Luwizo is now married to the triplets, all of whom he claims to have proposed to him for marriage simultaneously. The three sisters didn’t just imprint on the same man, they decided to share their husband going forward, considering they had shared everything since the time they were little.
© Twitter
Polygamy as a concept has reinvented itself with this wedding, it seems, as the four of them walked towards their happily ever after.
Luwizo revealed that he had first fallen in love with Natalie before meeting her two other sisters. And when they came along, it was probably too good a deal to pass along. After all, who would say no to this?
© Twitter
He revealed, “Unexpectedly, I met three girls with one face, I was very much surprised that I almost fainted. As much as I was dreaming, I asked, amongst all of you, who is Nathalie? They said, consequently, you never met with one girl. For the first time, you met Nadege, the second time, you met Natasha, and the third time, you met with the social media girl, Nathalie.”
He went on to share his feeling as he said, “I immediately fell into a trance and I became confused as I had already agreed to marry Nathalie but the most surprising to me, is that I found out that I can’t marry one of the girls and leave the two of them behind.”
The wedding took place in Kalehe, which is a territory located in South Kivu near Rwanda, and since marrying more than one person is legal in Congo, the decision didn’t invite any legal trouble. However, it did stir up a cause of concern for Luwizo’s parents.
He exchanged his vows with three women in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family and even though his parents didn’t understand him, he said, “I was obliged to marry all of them because they are triplets. It wasn't an easy decision because until now, my parents don't understand what I'm doing."
© Twitter
He also shared, “You have to lose something in order to gain another. In addition, one has their preferences and their own way of doing things. So I'm happy to marry the triplets no matter what others think. My parents despised my decision that's why they didn't attend my wedding. But all I can say is love has no limits."
At the time of the proposal when all three sisters - Natalie, Nadege and Natasha all popped the big question to him, he said he almost fainted out of sheer surprise calling it no less than a ‘dream’. Yeah well, no shit Luwizo.
© Twitter
As they are all married now, one sister even shared, “Today we are very happy, as you can see, because our dreams came true without being separated by husbands, but God heard our prayers.”

Alia Bhatt is beaming with joy these days as her latest release, Gangubai Kathiawadi, is doing well at the domestic box office. Also, her strong performance is getting a great response from moviegoers.
While Gangubai Kathiawadi marked Alia's first collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the duo was all set to work together years ago, when the Kalank star was just nine years old. Yes, you read that right!
View this post on Instagram
According to reports, Aditya Narayan, who started his career as a child artist in films, would have been Alia's first co-star if things would have fallen in place. Well, both of them were all set to play the lead roles in the Bhansali film based on child marriage. Titled Hamari Jaan Ho Tum, the movie was reportedly based on Rabindranath Tagore’s short story Samapti.
After auditioning several child artists, the maverick filmmaker had finalised Alia and Aditya for the film. Revealing the same, Bhansali informed Bollywood Hungama, "They were magical together. Both natural-born actors aged 9 and 10 and raring to go. But we couldn’t make the film. Now, it’s too late. I can never find my perfect leads to play the child bride and child groom".
View this post on Instagram
Looks like things failed to materialise back then and two years later, the director approached Ranbir Kapoor for a film on the same subject, titled Balika Vadhu, opposite 11-year-old Alia. At that time, the Barfi actor was 20 years old.
During an interview in 2017, Ranbir himself had revealed that he was all set to make his acting debut opposite Alia in Balika Vadhu and they even did a photoshoot together for the film. However, the project again failed to take off.
At last, Ranbir entered Bollywood with Bhansali's Saawariya in 2007, Alia's first film was Karan Johar's 2012 hit Student of The Year. After waiting for a long time, the actress finally worked with the Black director in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Two years ago, he had also signed her for Inshallah opposite Salman Khan. But, the film later got shelved.

Talking about veteran singer Udit Narayan's son Aditya Narayan, he made his Bollywood debut as a lead actor with Shaapit in 2010. However, his acting career failed to take off after the film flopped at the box office. Since then, he has sung songs in several films and music albums. Also, he is known for hosting and participating in various reality shows.

Bollywood star Bobby Deol made his debut long back in 1995 film called Barsaat after which he got a Filmfare Award For Best Male Debut.
Soon after, we saw him in the iconic Soldier, where his performance was loved by his fans, leading to the actor getting more and more films during the early part of the 2000s.

However, the actor has seen a lot of ups and downs in his career with many of his films not working at the box office.
Bobby, who is the son of Bollywood Hall Of Famer Dharmendra, surely saw his fair share of struggles for a couple of years and spoke about it recently.
Speaking about his career that spans more than two decades now, Bobby told SpotboyE.com on what actually went down in what he describes as a very sad phase of his career and personal life.
“I am lucky and blessed that I was born to my father and mother. I never chose to be in this family, I was born in this family so it was no fault of mine. I truly believe that no matter in which family one belongs to, be in the film industry or outside, if people don’t want to watch you they will not." said Bobby.
While the actor addressed nepotism too, he also revealed how even his father despite his legendary status couldn't help him.
© BCCL
"When I started my career, people love watching me on the screen and that’s why I got the work. If I wasn’t loved in my first film, I would not have got work so easily. I kept getting work, I gave hits after hits but then I eventually made some wrong choices, things did not work and I didn’t get work. If we see like this if dad is a legend in the industry, then I would have worked all the time. So, a father in every industry, can’t help a son if he fails.” he said.
Bobby also shed some light on suffering from depression.
“For three years, I was totally lost in my own sorrows, pitying myself. The only person who helped me to come out of this was myself. Your family can support your whole life, but they can’t make you stand up and go to work. So, I had to start believing in myself. It was hurtful to see my family getting hurt seeing me like that, and then something snapped in my mind and I said to myself... 'I have to prepare myself as they are fans who still want to see me in films'. It was just that I have to start believing in myself and I tried to be positive. It was tough back then. It is still tough although people are now appreciating my work. But it is always going to be tough for an actor.” said Bobby.
This is so heartbreaking. We really hope Bobby is on the way up.
His latest film Love Hostel is already getting a very good reception and it sure looks like a way up for the star.

Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI revealed the updated annual contracts for the various Indian cricket players who were a part of the regular rotation of the squad during the 2021 season and may potentially remain active during the 2022-23 season.
And as always, the fans of the Indian cricket team have formed various opinions about the kind of money being handed over to all these players. While some players have been shown a lot of sympathy for losing out on the previously held contracts, other cricketers were hated upon for earning more they should be (in the eyes of the fans, of course).
"Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah in the A+ Contract in the new BCCI annual contract." - According to Dainik Jagran
— CricketMAN2 (@ImTanujSingh) March 2, 2022
The former captain of the Indian cricket team and arguably the most polarising man in all of cricket, Virat Kohli belongs to the second group of people and has been slammed all over the internet for being granted the A+ category contract by the Indian cricket board, despite what has been a sub-par year for the cricketer - as compared to the kind of years he has had in the past.
Going purely by performance, Kohli shouldn't even have a BCCI contract.
India would have been decimated by Aussies if not for the class of Rahane and Pujara.

— Ankit (@BruceWa75808922) March 2, 2022A lot of negative things have happened to Kohli, especially this last year. He resigned as the captain of his IPL squad, Royal Challengers Bangalore following a heartbreaking end to the IPL 2021 season. He stepped down as the captain of the Indian T20I squad following a disappointing run at the ICC World Cup 2021.
Kohli was also sacked by the BCCI as the ODI captain after the selectors decided to give the entire white-ball captaincy to Rohit Sharma. And finally, he resigned as the captain of the Test cricket team after losing the three-match series in South Africa against a short-handed Protea team.

The batter has also been under the spotlight for the last two years as he has not been able to score a single century in any of three international cricket formats since November 2019. One of his greatest weaknesses while batting has also been highlighted across multiple series - how Kohli continues to play unnecessary cover drives that often lead to an outer edge catch behind the stumps.
Having said that, Kohli continues to be one of the top 10 batters in international Tests (rank 7) and ODIs (rank 2). He has only recently fallen out of the top-10 list in T20Is as well. Despite such stellar performances and a great batting record across formats, the fact that he is being called out for not doing enough to earn the greatest BCCI contract is only a testament to how great of a player he is and how the world has managed to expect nothing but absolute excellence from him over the years.

Based on the contractual set-up of the BCCI, players who belong to the A+ category earn a handsome Rs. 7 crore per year. This is on top of the match fee they receive for playing across the three forms of international cricket, the IPL contracts they receive during or before the auction and all the endorsements they do throughout the year.

The eyes of the whole country were on Virat Kohli as he stepped on the field for his 100th Test match and joined the elite list of Indian legends.
The majority of the crowd at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali had come to see the Indian superstar unleash himself on the Sri Lankan bowlers in his landmark Test appearance.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the stands were not filled to the capacity but when Kohli walked in to bat after the dismissal of Mayank Agarwal, the whole stadium went berser and the supporters greeted him with a grand ovation.
Nobody was disappointed with Agarwal’s dismissal, all they cared for was Kohli and they kept chanting his names until he occupied the crease and got ready to face the delivery.

With it being his 100th Test match, the expectations from Kohli were sky high as people hoped to see him end his two-year-long century drought and breach the three-figure mark for the first time since November 2019.
After a shaky start, Kohli got into his groove and started playing shots all over the park. Having smashed five boundaries in his 45-run knock, he was looking in an ominous touch.

Many thought he would make it big this time around and treat all his fans with his 71st international hundred. He was completely deceived, against the run of play, by a Lasith Embuldeniya special delivery that spun away, missed the outside edge, and clipped the top of off-stump.
The whole stadium was distraught at Kohli’s dismissal but it was skipper Rohit Sharma’s reaction that became a talking point on social media. Kohli was batting so well that nobody expected him to get out and Rohit’s reaction showed exactly that.
© Twitter/BCCI
As soon as the ball clipped the stumps, Rohit, who was standing inside the room, held his head with both hands and his facial expression was enough to tell how disappointed he was with Kohli’s departure. He didn’t react animatedly on his own wicket that he did on his predecessor’s fall and that reflected the special bond both these players have and how much they care for each other.

Avengers: Endgame marked the culmination of 22 films in the first three phases of the Infinity Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It was also a fitting tribute to the legend of Iron Man aka Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr.
In the first MCU film, Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr delivered the iconic line, “I Am Iron Man” and created history. In his final MCU film, he ended his journey with a callback to his iconic comeback as he clapped back at Thanos, he says, “And I…Am…Iron Man”.
© Marvel Studios
In a recent Hypocondriactor Podcast, RDJ was asked about the line he uttered in his final moments in Endgame and he immediately replied, “I am Iron Man.”
He then added that this wasn’t initially in the script and he had other smart-ass replies to Thanos.
He said, “Correct answer is ‘I am Iron Man,’ but I had so many alt lines that I wanted to put forward… Oh god, let me think. They were all super smart-ass lines like I was trying to, y’know, dumb stuff like, ‘You are so f***ed’ or whatever. You know what, I’ll have to go back to my notes… I get the Infinity Stones and then have the power to snap and have whatever I wanna have happen--Oh, tha- I was gonna say ‘Oh, snap.‘”
© Marvel Studios
When asked why he didn’t go with those alternate comebacks, he replied, “I’ll tell you why, it was too smart-ass and it was the whole arc of the character and it was, I think… maybe one of our great editors’ ideas, or one of the writers to say we need to go right back to the first film and have his dying words be the words of his origin… We love a bookend.”
Iron Man’s final scene where he sacrifices himself in order to wipe-off Thanos and his minions and to save the universe has gone on to become one of the most iconic scenes in the history of cinema.
And while we find his alternate lines interesting, nothing’s as iconic as “I Am Iron Man”!
