You know how they say that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction? Well in the β€˜filmy duniya’ of Bollywood, the line between what is β€˜filmy’ and what is not is actually blurred at times. There are a few incidents which truly make you believe in destiny and marvel at the beauty of fate.

At least this is what happened to the fans of actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. This is an old clip from around 15 years ago when Saif gave Kaeena the β€˜best actor’ award for Omkara, in the presence of ex-beau Shahid Kapoor. Co-incidentally, Saif won the award for best actor in a negative role in the same year for Omkara as well.

The comment section is lit with many comments talking about how it was fate hinting at the beautiful future. Some couldn’t help but comment on the love they see in Shahid’s eyes.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, Omkara was one of the biggest releases of the year 2006 and starred Ajay Devgn, Kareena and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. At that time, the romance brewing between Kareena and Shahid was the talk of town in Bollywood and Saif was dating a model named Rosa back then. Years later, Saif and Kareena make a beautiful couple with their two children in tow, and Shahid is locked in wedded bliss with wife Mira and his two kids as well. This gives us hope that if one love story doesn’t work out, another one surely will come true.Β

Tara Sutaria, who is happy with the positive response she received for Milan Lutharia's Tadap opposite Ahan Shetty, recently got a pleasant surprise after a fan got the actress' face tattooed on his hand. Well, fans sometimes do such crazy things to get the attention of their favourite stars. However, social media fans trolled Tara's fan because he was snapped with Katrik Aaryan too in a viral video, earlier this month.
    View this post on Instagram
The exact reason behind netizens trolling the fan is because he used the same trick in Katrik's case as well. While interacting with the Pati Patni Aur Woh star, the young fan had flaunted a tattoo of Kartik's face on his chest. Yes, you read that right! At that time as well, people had called him an attention seeker.Β
Well, he is the same guy and social media users have again called him out for using such tricks to get "attention". In the video, Tara is all smiles as she poses with the fan who is seen flaunting the tattoo. She sweetly thanked him for getting her tattoo on his hand. Watch the video here:

As soon as Viral Bhayani, a well-known paparazzi, posted the video on Instagram, netizens started trolling the young guy. A user wrote, "He’s the same guy who got a tattoo of Kartik Aryan ! And now of her. People not realising it’s just a temporary tattoo and he is just trying to get famous". Another comment reads, "Bad obsession!! Is se better padhai karo, army join karo!! Inka tattoo banwa k kiya mila!"
"Ye kuchh zada hi ho gaya," wrote another Instagram user. Here are the reactions:

On the career front, Tara currently has Heropanti 2 and Ek Villain Returns in her kitty. While in Heropanti 2, she will be seen reuniting with her Student Of The Year 2 co-star Tiger Shroff, Ek Villain Returns also features John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, and Disha Patani in the lead roles.Β

Despite all the efforts, the International Cricket Council (ICC) hasn’t been able to make the sport that we all love corruption free.
Not just the ICC, every major cricket-playing nation has set up their own anti-corruption units to wipe out this menace at the local level but still every year we come across news of players getting banned for their corrupt practices.
    Β© iStock
Generally people think that the cricketers, despite knowing all the consequences, agree to fix matches to make quick money but that’s not true in every case.

There have been multiple occasions when the players had no idea that they were being approached by a bookie to fix matches for them and by the time they could realise that, it was too late.
    Β© Reuters
Take for example former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan who was banned for two years (with one year of that suspended) in 2019 after he failed to report the approaches made by the bookies.

Now a couple of years later, another former captain of a Test playing nation has found himself in a similar position. The player in question is former Zimbabwe captain Brandan Taylor who is facing a β€œmultiple-year ban” from the world cricket governing body after he admitted that he received $15,000 as β€œdeposit” to carry out spot-fixing for them.
    View this post on Instagram
According to the wicketkeeper-batter he was blackmailed into accepting the advance payment by an Indian businessman back in October 2019, who had made a video of him sniffing cocaine during their meeting.
The Zimbabwe cricketer took to the micro-blogging site and explained how he was approached by an Indian businessman to discuss a new T20 tournament in his home country and was asked to visit India in that regard.
To my family, friends and supporters. Here is my full statement. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/sVCckD4PMV
    β€” Brendan Taylor (@BrendanTaylor86) January 24, 2022
Taylor shared a long statement on Twitter where he explained how he was blackmailed by a group of men, who had made a video of him consuming cocaine.
β€œWe had drinks and during the course of the evening, they openly offered me cocaine, which they themselves engaged in. I foolishly took the bait,” Taylor said in a statement, released on Twitter.

    β€” Brendan Taylor (@BrendanTaylor86) January 24, 2022
β€œThe following morning, the same men stormed into my hotel room and showed me a video taken of me the night before doing cocaine and told me that if I did not spot-fix at international matches for them, the video would be released to the public.”
The 35-year-old cricketer said that he was afraid of his safety and had no choice but to accept the token money. However, he stressed that after returning home he never fixed any matches for them.
β€œI would like to place on record that I have never been involved in any form of match-fixing. I may be many things, but I am not a cheat. That being said, the ICC are taking the decision to impose a multi-year ban on my international cricketing career. I humbly accept this decision,” he said.

In his statement, there was one line that caught the attention of each and every cricket fan and raised a serious question on the ICC and the other cricket boards.
Taylor said that the only reason he agreed to visit India was because they hadn’t received any payments for the last six months.

It’s sad that on one hand we have countries like India, Australia and England who earn crazy amounts of money and on the other hand we have smaller countries like Zimbabwe who are fighting for their survival.

Unlike other players who keep on denying their involvement even after being found guilty and facing the life-time ban, Taylor decided to reveal the truth in front of the whole world and admit the mistakes that he made.

    β€” ICC (@ICC) October 30, 2020
After reading his heartfelt statement, people became a fan of his honesty and praised the former cricketer for being so courageous and facing the whole world front on.
    To err is human.
Heartening to know you have accepted the mistake & ready to phase the consequences.
Hope you find the right path for your future and do well in your life.
You are hell of a cricketer who did his country proud on many occasions.
    Best wishes
β€” Rahul D / ΰ€°ΰ€Ύΰ€Ήΰ₯ΰ€² / β€Ž Ψ±Ψ§ΫΩˆΩ„ (@rdalwale) January 24, 2022This is seriously heartbreaking. With so much money going on in cricket, these kind of stories definitely aren't rare.

If famous cricketers like Taylor can be blackmailed like this, I don't even know how much clean this sport really is. Sad.
β€” Manjurul Karim (@Manjur__) January 24, 2022I salute your bravery in making this statement. Everyone makes mistakes, you have acknowledged your's & hopefully you can return to the beautiful game you have served so well soon. All the best for your rehab.
β€” Ken Borland (@KenBorland) January 24, 2022The strength is in picking yourself up Brendan. Everyone falls, keep moving. Zimbabweans love you
β€” Jessica Geraldine (@DarkForceGirl01) January 24, 2022Hey Brendan, it takes strength to admit you have a problem and to take the steps you are taking. I have stood exactly ever you are standing and I will tell you this… it’s hard, but it’s worth every second of struggle! A million times over. Take this one single day at a time
β€” Duane Rockwell (@DuaneRockwell) January 24, 2022We all make mistakes Brendan. What matters is to admit them and take the corrective action and you are doing exactly the same. Well done.
β€” Ankit Gour (@TheAnkitG) January 24, 2022We all make mistakes, it's a good thing to accept them and face reality. I forgive you, you will always stand amongst Zimbabwe's greatest batsmen my captain.
β€” Stuart Ziwewe (@Stuartziwewe) January 24, 2022By any means I am not trying to justify what Taylor did but it’s a fact that a man can go to any extent to provide for his family and put food on the table.

If the ICC is really serious about making cricket corruption free then it should make sure that the local cricket boards clear players’ due in time.
To all the flourishing cricket boards, it’s their moral duty to help out smaller nations in every way possible, be it financially or by playing matches against them, to save them from extinction.

While the importance of education is significant for all of us, not everyone has the liberty to complete their education for several reasons. You know the world loves a good dose of gossip when after a cricket match, people talk about everything that happened at the match other than the game. Yesterday, during the India vs SA ODI match, a video of Anushka Sharma cheering on with her beautiful daughter Vamika clapping along went viral all over the internet. As the camera panned along with the audience, there was a clear glimpse of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s one year old daughter, whose face was hidden from the world and the media ever since she was born.
    View this post on Instagram
Now one may assume what was the big deal in this but the problem that irked the star parents was the fact that they have constantly maintained a conscious distance from sharing their daughter’s face with the world and have in the past even thanked the media for cooperating with their request of not clicking Vamika when spotted with them.
While the Indian media has wholesomely obliged and adhered to the instructions, this is a simple video glimpse from the stands during a match where thousands of people came to watch it. The couple shared a fresh stance today and explained that they were caught off-guard and had no idea that their daughter’s video was recorded during the match.
While a section of their fan base is agreeing to it and slamming publications for sharing the images, a certain section of the audience is finding this stance to be hypocritical and they don’t understand why they got the child to the match if the identity was meant to be hidden.

β€” Max (@chahanicharcha) January 24, 2022People have a problem with the way this thing has been turned into an unwanted controversy and they are blaming Virushka for it. Social media is filled with people asking them how could they not foresee a camera zooming in on Virat or Anushka during the match and if there was anyone in the vicinity (in this case happens to be her daughter), then they will obviously be captured in the frame. However, the least media publications can do is not contribute to the spread of the video or the photos.

Virat Kohli might not be the captain of the Indian team anymore but even his critics cannot deny his love and passion of representing the country at the international stage. Kohli is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve whenever he takes the field. However, his same attitude often gives birth to unwanted controversies.
Kohli and controversies go hand in hand and the former India captain caught the eyeballs of fans before the start of the third ODI between India and South Africa. Both the teams had walked out onto the field and were singing their respective national anthems.Β

Soon after the mega success of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, it was announced by Netflix and the filmmaker that a prequel series titled Baahubali: Before the Beginning was in the works showcasing the rise of Sivagami (originally played by Ramya Krishnan).Β
Starring Mrunal Thakur in the lead role along with Rahul Bose and Atul Kulkarni, the show was helmed by Deva Katta and was reportedly shot for over 6 months with Netflix investing over Rs 100 crore in it.Β
Not too happy with the outcome, after a year of post production, Netflix decided to revamp the show with a fresh cast and director. Soon, Kunal Deshmukh of Jannat fame and Ribhu Dasgupta of Te3n fame were roped in to helm the series and prep work on it began in July 2021. Wamiqa Gabbi was signed on to play Sivagami post Mrunal Thakur’s exit.Β
    Β© Arka Media Works
However, the pre-production done on the show didn’t please the OTT giant and they decided to shelve the project altogether, according to Pinkvilla.Β

It has further been reported that Netflix has lost around Rs 150 crore on the now-shelved show.Β
A source told the website, β€œThe work done on ground in terms of pre-production couldn’t exactly be in sync with the vision that Netflix had for this period drama. After a series of discussions and contemplations, they decided to shelve the project at this point of time. Some extra money which was invested in the prep work too has been considered bad-dates for now. The approx. figure invested in Bahubali: Before The Beginning was Rs 150 crore.”
    Β© Arka Media Works
The source further informed that Netflix deemed it better to put a full stop on the project than invest additional Rs 200 crore, β€œBaahubali is a cult in today’s time and they didn’t want to take the risk of meddling with something that has an iconic status. They may revisit it again, but this time around, only when the material on paper is strong enough to justify the legacy.”

Released in 2015, Baahubali: The Beginning starred Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles. It was followed by a 2017 sequel titled Baahubali 2: The Conclusion that turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of all time.

We all have heard from the older generations that arranged marriages last longer and don’t end up in divorces as opposed to love marriages but who’s to say if this works for everyone? We have seen people who’ve had a love marriage spending their entire time together happily, while arranged marriages breaking up, and vice versa.Β

    Β© iStock
Someone on Reddit said he doesn’t believe in the concept of arranged marriage and would never have one because he has seen his parents fighting all his life. He wrote, β€œThey fight all the flipping time every weekend they fight or whenever they are together. for ffs, i am not going to get arranged married [sic].”

    Β© iStock
He further added, β€œu cannot convince me that love marriage is worse I have seen a love marriage that is much better and in the same family [sic].” Desis were quick to share their POV and said that it’s not really about how they got married but how they get along now.Β

Some people defended arranged marriages, while others said not every love marriage ends in divorce and not every arranged marriage is a happily ever after. Instead of blaming the concept of marriages, it should be noted that the people who aren’t compatible won’t be happy together regardless of how they found each other. So, it won’t be wrong to generalise it for everyone.

Here are some of the best responses.

    1. β€œSame story at my house too. I don't think it's really a question of love or arranged. It's much more about compatibility. When 2 people who are incompatible get married, through arranged or love marriage, there is a high chance of a disaster.”
    2. β€œIt's not About love vs arrange marriage ..it's about getting sane, adjustable person or narcissistic, self centred person which if luck runs out you might get one even in love marriage.”
    3. β€œArrange marriages are good if done properly. Like the couples can date for a year or two, then confirm about it. Meet families ,understand each other and then decide.” –lolhmmk
    Β© iStock
    4. β€œIt's very subjective, i have seen love marriages going ultra side ways to the point the couple are hitting each other but were loving when they were dating, also seen arrange marriage being very successful, theres a difference between being a boyfriend and being husband , or wife and girlfriend, some people are great as a boyfriend but not as a husband and vice versa.” –redditaddict95

    5. β€œThere are millions of arranged marriages happening in country. You cannot choose one incident and generalize.” –investorin

Just like any other relationship, the chemistry, compatibility and understanding of people is what keeps it healthy, happy and going smooth.Β

KL Rahul, who led the Indian side in the second Test match against South Africa, was given the chance to lead Team India in the absence of regular white-ball captain Rohit Sharma in the three-match ODI series in South Africa.Β
It was the first time KL Rahul was captaining in international cricket and things didn't go as he would have imagined. India lost all the three matches and Rahul’s captaincy debut started with a series sweep.Β
That's that from the final ODI. South Africa win by 4 runs and take the series 3-0.

Apart from his captaincy skills, KL Rahul’s own form with the bat did not help the team as he failed to provide a solid start to the middle-order.Β
Rahul had scores of 12, 55 and 9. His form was so poor that even India’s bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who played two games out of three, managed to score more runs (90) than the Indian captain in the three-match series.Β
Despite conceding the series, India’s head coach and former skipper Rahul Dravid has backed the 29-year-old and said he will get better with time.Β

β€” Rohit Sahay (@RajahRohit) January 24, 2022Dravid also highlighted that the series loss will work like an eye opener for the Men in Blue as they continue to find the right combination in white-ball cricket.Β
India have been poor in limited-overs cricket since the 2019 World Cup, where they lost to New Zealand in the semi-final.Β

We can argue that Rohit Sharma was not there with the team and that could have made the difference but looking at the bigger picture, his absence showed how much the team is relying on one individual and that has been one of the main reasons why we haven’t done well in crucial matches of late.

When you hear the story of wrestler Virender Singh, you'd wonder 'why has this story not been made into a biopic yet?' - but perhaps for all the wrong reasons. An accomplished wrestler who has been conferred with awards such as Padma Shri and the Arjuna award, Virender's back story is one of heartbreak and prejudice.
View this post on InstagramWhile calling someone 'goonga' (mute) is insensitive, Virender Singh Yadav proudly embraces being called that, and this in fact helped him build his reputation when it comes to freestyle wrestling. Born deaf and mute, Virender started participating in 'Dangals' ever since he was 12 years old, and by the time he was 15, had already earned the title of 'Nau Sher' (9 Lions) in Delhi.
