The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to be played in March and a few weeks later all the franchises will look to strengthen their squad at the mega auction which is set to take place on February 12 and 13. The upcoming edition is set to be the biggest ever with two new franchises joining the existing eight teams.
Lucknow and Ahmedabad are the two new teams that will participate in IPL 2022. Both teams announced their choice for draft picks on January 21. Lucknow named KL Rahul as their skipper while adding Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi in their team. On the other hand, Ahmedabad announced Hardik Pandya as their captain and roped in Shubman Gill as well as Rashid Khan in their side.

While Ahmedabad are yet to announce their official name, the Lucknow franchise, owned by the RPSG group, who were the owners of the former IPL team Rising Pune Supergiant, revealed their official name on Monday -- Lucknow Super Giants.
The interesting bit about the announcement was that before announcing the name, the franchise had asked fans for their suggestion on what should be the name of the Lucknow-based franchise.

After the announcement, fans were not too happy with the name that was chosen by the team owners and called them out for doing 'drama' to gain engagement on social media.
All that drama to ask the fans to participate in the contest only to go back to the old name

A former India wicket-keeper batter Vijay Dahiya was also roped in as the assistant coach for the upcoming season of IPL.

The Lucknow Super Giants will be looking to have a good outing at the auction table when all the 10 franchises bid to get their favourite players from the lot.
A total of 1,214 players have registered for the upcoming mega auction including 896 Indians and 318 international cricketers.
As cricket fans, we are happy that we will get to see an IPL season with 74 matches. And with the introduction of two new franchises, let us hope it is not another season where only Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians fight for the title.

#ArrestAshneerGrover Trends On Twitter As He Continues To Appear On Shark Tank India

As the Indian version of the famous reality show - Shark Tank came along, several of us got hooked to the likes of this business and investment related show where people like you and I would go to pitch their dreams and come back with a solid investor on board.

With seven entrepreneurs on board, all of whom impressive and successful in their own right, the show was a raging success right before it became one more thing - controversial. And the credit for that goes to one of those many entrepreneurs - Ashneer Grover.

As of this morning, #ArrestAshneerGrover is trending on Twitter and people ruthlessly call out the BharatPe co-founder for allegedly threatening and abusing a bank employee. More so because they are rather unimpressed with the entrepreneur as well as Sony, for continuing his appearance on the reality show - Shark Tank India.

The fintech maestro is reportedly on a voluntary leave till March-end, as per the company’s statements, and this has followed after an audio clip went viral where he allegedly can be heard screaming, threatening and abusing an employee from the Kotak Mahindra Bank.

“Fake audio by some scamster trying to extort funds,” was Ashneer Grover’s stance on it when the audio clip went viral. However, he soon deleted his tweet making room for wild speculation. And as it turns out, now Kotak Mahindra Bank is taking legal action against him over using “inappropriate language” for their employee.

Acknowledging that the bank did indeed receive a legal notice on October 30 from a couple alleging that the bank had failed to secure the finance and allotment of shares in the Nykaa IPO, furthermore seeking Rs 500 crores in damages. On January 9, the bank confirmed that the couple was indeed Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri, who also made an unpleasant call and hurled abuses at the relationship manager of the bank.

As more and more details of this case and all the previous controversies involving the BharatPe co-founder and MD come to the surface, people have issued a hashtag against him on Twitter, urging for his arrest.

Riled up with the fact that someone who is being accused of dishing out threats is still being celebrated on a TV show, people are calling out for his arrest as soon as possible and dissing Sony for standing in support of ‘such a criminal’.

'Kyu Hit Hui Mai Nahi Jaanta' When Aamir Called Govinda's Aankhen 'Too Crude' & 'Vulgar'

David Dhawan’s Aankhen, featuring Govinda, Chunky Panday, Ritu Shivpuri, and Raageshwari Loomba in the lead roles, was released in 1993 and turned out to be a huge hit at the box office. Fans loved Govinda's double role in the film while the song O Laal Dupatte Wali too became a rage. However, did you know Aamir Khan disliked the film? Yes, you read that right! During an interview at that time, he even criticized Aankhen for being "too crude" and "vulgar".

Aamir, who is also called 'Mr. Perfectionist', is known for choosing scripts that earn critical acclaim as well as box office success. Also, he never thinks twice before sharing his honest opinion about a film. In the 90s, he did the same in the case of Aankhen as well.
In an interview with a Vancouver-based media portal, the Ghajini star opened up about Govinda's Aankhen and said, "David Dhawan jo film ke director hain, he’s a close friend of mine, and film mujhe personally pasand nahi aayi. Shayad David ko ye baat maloom bhi hogi, aur kyun itni badi hit hui ye main bhi nahi jaanta. Meri ye feeling thi ki, the film was too crude, for me it was vulgar, some of the scenes, toh isiliye mujhe pasand nahi aayi. But maybe the audiences liked it, I don’t know".

After hearing this, the interviewer shared, "Ho sakta hai numerologically and astrologically unka waqt sahi hoga," to this, Aamir Khan answered, "Uske alawa ek cheez hoti hai audience ki psyche. Aksar kya hota jaise aap dekhein India mein, there was lot of troubled times that time, riots hue the, Bombay mein bomb blast hue the toh mahaul bohot hi tension ka ho gaya tha. Usme ek aisi utt pataang type ki film ayi toh audience totally freaked out".
He concluded by saying, it's my theory and I might be totally wrong as well but these things happen.

For the unversed, Aankhen was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1993 and also featured Kader Khan, Shilpa Shirodkar, and Raj Babbar in pivotal roles. Later, in 1995, it was remade into Telugu as Pokiri Raja.
Coming back to Aamir, he will next be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan. Directed by Advait Chandan, the much-awaited movie is the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' classic Forrest Gump. While Govinda is not too active on the Bollywood front now.
