    The Indian team has always been a brilliant white-ball side, which has performed well all across the globe and that’s why when they suffered a whitewash in the three-match ODI series against South Africa, it was a hard pill to swallow.
    In fact, a team that hadn’t suffered a clean sweep in an ODI series (comprising at least three or more matches) between 1997 and 2019 has done so twice in the last two years, first in New Zealand in 2020 and now in South Africa.Β 
    That's that from the final ODI. South Africa win by 4 runs and take the series 3-0.

    Wins and losses are part and parcel of any sport and the Indian team has also had its fair share of ups and downs along the way. But in the past even when they lost, they made sure that they gave the opposition a run for their money and made them work extra hard to come out on top.
    First under Sourav Ganguly and then under MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, we had become so accustomed to watching the Indian team win series after series in the last two decades, that we had totally forgotten the meaning to a clean sweep. That’s why we were all shocked when we suffered a series whitewash, that too against an unfancied South African side.

    It can’t be a coincidence that both these ODI series white-wash have come in the absence of former skipper MS Dhoni. Back in 2020, Dhoni had missed the New Zealand series as he was on a lengthy sabbatical which culminated into a formal international retirement that came a few months later in August.

    The reason why everyone expected Team India to do well, especially in the white-ball leg of the tour, was because of their past performance. On their last tour, the Virat Kohli-led side had clinched both the ODI and T20I series, losing only two out of nine encounters (six ODIs and three T20Is).

    On that tour, India’s leg-spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, famously known as β€˜Kulcha’ had wreaked havoc, picking up 16 and 17 wickets respectively, which played a key role in the side’s success.

    Many people describe it arguably as the best white-ball bowling performance on foreign soil by any Indian spinners. Apart from their own skill sets, both the bowlers have themselves acknowledged Dhoni’s role in guiding them from behind the stumps and contributing to their success.

    Ever since Dhoni has retired from international cricket, both the spinners have struggled to produce the same kind of performance. Chahal is still part of the Indian team, while Yadav has gone totally out of favour in all three formats of the game.

    Chahal was part of the just-concluded ODI series but he was a shadow of how he performed back in 2018. He neither picked up wickets nor stopped the run flow and failure to provide breakthroughs in the middle overs was one of the reasons why India lost the series.

    When asked about what has changed between now and then, Dinesh Karthik said that Dhoni’s absence has played a massive role because now they don’t have anyone who can guide them through the difficult phases of the game.


    β€œI think that the advent of their bowling has dipped because somebody like MS Dhoni has not been there post the (2019) World Cup. I've seen how much he helped them,” Karthik said on Cricbuzz.
    β€œThey don't need help when the going gets good or they're bowling and getting beaten, or when they don't know which way the ball will turn. But when somebody hits a slog-sweep or just plays the reverse-sweep, then you have the wise words of wisdom coming from a man who has so much experience and they love him so much. They (are) worth the weight in gold.”

    The former KKR skipper said that on paper Kohli was the captain but in reality it was Dhoni who used to guide the spinners in crucial junctures of the game and suggest ways to improve their bowling.

    β€œVirat Kohli could've been the captain in many of those matches, but who were they listening to? Definitely MS Dhoni. They trusted him completely. He really guided them well,” he added.

    With Dhoni in the side, Kohli was much more relaxed. He didn’t have to worry about small things. He knew that he had an elder brother who would guide the bowlers and make small adjustments in the field, if need be. It allowed Kohli to focus more on his batting.

    But even since Mahi has retired, things have changed and India’s white-ball performance has gone down considerably and it’s out there for everyone to see.

Something that the Indian society, and the world in general, struggles to understand, considering people would rather be first judged on everything superficial than on what actually matters. And while doing that often only bothers those who are judged incorrectly, this time around, the opposite might have happened.
    We are talking about the recent incident where a man after being wrongly perceived and insulted, came back at that person to prove him wrong and how.Β 
    A farmer named Kempegowda RL of Ramanapalya in Chikkasandra hobli and a bunch of his friends had gone to a car showroom when the lot was publicly humiliated and belittled by the salesman there.Β

    After the group of farmers showed interest in buying an SUV from the showroom, the salesperson didn’t just not take their request seriously but also passed remarks saying he won’t even have β€˜Rs. 10 in his pocket, let alone Rs. 10 Lakh for the car.’

    Feeling rather insulted after having such comments hurled at them, the group of farmers left, but not before giving the salesperson an ultimatum to deliver the car β€˜today itself’, in case they were able to get the cash for it. And to the sales executive’s surprise, they did arrange the money.Β 
    Kempegowda RL and his farmer friends were back in exactly 30 minutes with Rs 10 lakh ready to buy the car of their choosing. β€œHe thought we won’t be able to pull together that much cash because banks were closed by then,” said Kempegowda after standing against all odds to protect his self-respect.Β

    And while the farmers were still able to stand true to their promise of being able to buy a car, the showroom couldn’t uphold their end of the bargain and failed to deliver the car for saturday and sunday were government holidays. Riled up, Kempegowda and his friends recorded a video of the entire incident and posted it online.
    β€œI’ve asked the sales executive and the showroom authorities to apologize to us in writing for humiliating me and my friends… Now, I’ve lost interest in buying the vehicle,” Kempegowda said as he also warned the car showroom owner of holding a protest outside his shop, in case he wasn’t obliged.

    Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan decided to part ways after more than a decade and announced their divorce. For the past few years, Malaika has been dating actor Arjun Kapoor and Arbaaz Khan on the other hand is in a relationship with Giorgia Andriani. But, it wasn’t easy for Malaika as it was one of the lowest phases of her life.Β Β

    It’s sad to see how people are maligning her image again and again. We need to start normalizing divorce as parting ways is much better than being stuck in a failed marriage.Β 

    People question her for dating Arjun but Arbaaz too has moved on and is in a relationship. Arjun and Malaika’s relationship has been going strong since the couple made it official in 2019. The two have always been brutally judged for their relationship as they are questioned about the age gap between them.

    1. Thor: Love And Thunder Β© Marvel Studios
    Chris Hemsworth's Thor, who remains to be one of the original six Avengers, returns in his fourth standalone film after a while.

    Taika Waititi also returns as the director of the film after the very impressive showing in Thor: Ragnarok.

    Much has been speculated about Black Panther 2 since Chadwick Boseman's tragic passing away.

    However, with Wakanda Forever, director Ryan Coogler will answer some important questions around who will be the next Black Panther.
    The movie will see the return of characters like Shuri, M'Baku, and others, and it will be interesting to see how the story will further be incorporated with the rest of the Avengers.

    On the other side of Marvel, where the rights are with Sony Pictures, Jared Leto's Morbius holds the key in what lies ahead in Tom Hardy's Venom universe or the Spider-Man universe.

    Yep! Andrew Garfield has already hinted that the worlds of his Amazing Spider-Man and Tom Hardy's Venom may collide in the future.
    Morbius will be the story of how a Biochemist tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, with the failed experiment in turn leading him to inject himself with a sort of vampirism.
    4. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Β© Sony Pictures
    Sony Pictures' first Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is probably what started the crazy multiverse idea, and boy, was it a wonderful film!

    The sequel will see the story of Miles Morales' Spider-Man continue as he explores what else lies in the multiverse where there are so many different Spider-Men or Spider-Women like him.
    5. Dr. Strange 2: Multiverse Of Madness Β© Marvel Studios
    This is clearly one of the most exciting Marvel movies since Spider-Man: No Way Home, as it deals with the aftermath of what happened in Tom Holland's film.

    We already know that there will be an evil Dr. Strange, and there are also some exciting rumors of many superheroes like Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and others.
    Most importantly, there are big rumors around Tom Cruise being cast as the new Iron Man.
    All in all, the movie is going to be a cinematic spectacle just like Spider-Man: No Way Home.Β

    With the 2018 blockbuster Simmba, Rohit Shetty created what was said to be Bollywood’s first cinematic universe. The Ranveer Singh starrer featured Ajay Devgn in a special appearance playing the character of Bajirao Singham from 2011 Singham and its sequel, the 2015 hit Singham Returns.Β 
    He further established the Cop Universe with the introduction of Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi in the end credits of the film. Last year, a fourth film in the cinematic universe, Sooryavanshi released and rocked the box office.Β 
    While fans are eagerly waiting for Singham 3, a fifth film in the universe, a lesser-known fact is that years before Simmba, A Shah Rukh Khan starrer had, in a way, created a cinematic universe that to on a pan-India level.Β

    Released in 2011, Shah Rukh Khan starrer superhero film Ra.One features a sequence around the interval where G.One is fighting a bunch of goons at the Mumbai airport soon after he arrives from the US.Β 

    The audience was left in surprise when Rajinikanth made an appearance in the scene as Chitti from the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robot in Hindi). He helps SRK’s G.One, introduces himself as Chitti and exits the scene after a swag-banter with him.Β

    The presence of Rajinikanth’s Chitti in Ra.One meant the two films belong to the same universe.Β

    While talking about Rajinikanth’s appearance in the film, Shah Rukh had told reporters before the release of the film in 2011, β€œRajini sir will be seen in Chitti’s avatar. He was here to shoot. It was heart-warming to see him. We were all overwhelmed. When we devised it, he was unfortunately unwell, so we couldn’t do it that time. It is a funny scene where G.One tries to save Kareena and his son. He is fighting with the gundas and suddenly Chitti, the robot, comes. I ask Kareena who he is, but she does not respond. There is an interesting part here.” 

    He had further added, β€œWhen I dance on Chammak Challo, I wear a scarf, the movement...walk and all G.One learns, adapts from Rajnikanth’s character Chitti. It is a tribute to Rajini sir.” 
    SRK had also tweeted about shooting with Rajinikanth, β€œMisconcepts, misunderstood.stressed & then rajini sir walks on sets & u know why God made films. Thanx Soundarya for making r dream com true.”

    He followed it up with, β€œRa.One completed today.Rajini sir blessed it.Have tears in my eyes of gratitude & only prayers & love for his whole family.u complete us sir.”  

    He further tweeted, β€œSitting with soundarya & seeing the edit of rajini sir's shoot.he is like a celestial being...the whole office is beaming with happiness.WOW”.Β 
    Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan was initially approached to play Chitti by Shankar in Enthiran. Things couldn’t materialise then and he ended up paying a tribute to the β€œSuperstar” with Ra.One.Β

    Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde-starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was released in 2020 and turned out to be a huge hit. Last year, an official Hindi remake of the Telugu film was announced with Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. Directed by Dishoom and Desi Boyz fame Rohit Dhawan, the Hindi remake is titled Shehzada which is among the most-anticipated films of 2022.Β

    Manish Shah of Goldmines Telefilms, who has bought the Hindi dubbing rights to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, wasn't thrilled with the announcement of Shehzada and was all set to release the Hindi dubbed version of Allu Arjun's film in the theatres on January 26. However, Allu Arjun's father Allu Aravind, the producer of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and co-producer of its Hindi version, soon intervened and talked to Shah. Later, Goldmines released a statement announcing the withdrawal of the theatrical release of the Hindi dubbed version of the Telugu blockbuster.Β 
    Now, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is all set to premiere on Shah's TV channel, Dhinchaak. Talking about the Hindi dubbed version, Shah in an interview has revealed that a whopping amount has been spent on the dubbing.Β

    Speaking about the same, he told Pinkvilla, "We have spent Rs. 2 crores on the dubbing. In fact, all the songs from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo have been dubbed in Hindi by the same set of singers, who sung the songs in Telugu".
    Well, that's indeed huge! Manish is optimistic that Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo would beat the TRP records set by Akshay Kumar's Laxmii when it premieres on television on February 6.
    He shared, "I want to break the records of Laxmii with Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Later on, the target is to break Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo records with Pushpa. I am very clear that all the big films will be preserved. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo will run only on TV at this point of time, and I am not going to bring it on any digital platform, including my YouTube channel".
    Earlier this month, there were speculations that the makers of Shehzada had also offered a huge amount of Rs. 8 crores to not release the Hindi dubbed version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Reportedly, Shah had bought the dubbing rights for Rs. 4 crores and he would have earned a profit of Rs. 4 crores on his investment. While it is not yet clear if the development was confirmed or those were mere rumours, the team of Shehzada must be happy as things have turned out in their favour.Β

    Rishabh Pant is a match-winner on his day but when things don’t go his way, he looks like a cricketer with little sense of match situation. Pant’s knack of taking the attack to the opposition doesn’t always work out for him and for Team India.
    Same was the case in the third and final ODI between India and South Africa in Cape Town on Sunday. Pant, walked out to bat at number four and in a bid to hit the first ball that he was facing for a maximum, the wicket-keeper batter holed out in the deep.Β

    The 24-year-old’s aggressive approach has been criticised by many cricket pundits in the past but the team management backs him and his style of play.Β 
    Pant had a mixed ODI series against the Proteas, his wicketkeeping was below average in all the three matches and apart from a half-century in the second ODI, the youngster failed in the other two games.

    Pushpa: The Rise continues its dominance at the box office. The Allu Arjun starrer has now become the 7th South Indian film to hit Rs 300 crore at worldwide box office.Β 
    Interestingly, the elite Rs 300 crore worldwide club earlier featured South Indian films only starring Rajinikanth and Prabhas (3 each).Β 
    Now, Allu Arjun has become only the third actor in history to hit a triple century at the global box office.Β 
    According to Box Office India, Pushpa: The Rise has collected Rs 335 crore gross out of which a huge Rs 112 crore gross were collected from Hindi markets.Β

    The first South Indian film to hit a triple century was Rajinikanth starrer 2010 blockbuster Enthiran. The second film to join the club was Prabhas starrer 2015 grand success Baahubali: The Beginning.Β 

    A year later, another Rajinikanth starrer Kabali breached the box office milestone. Then Baahubali sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion joined the list. Followed by another Rajinikanth starrer 2.0.Β

    The sixth film in the list was Prabhas starrer Saaho which released in 2018.Β
