    On January 17, Dhanush and Aishwarya took to social media to announce their split after “18 years of togetherness”. 
    The news soon went viral with all sorts of reactions on social media. 
    Amidst the news of their separation, an old video of Rajinikanth has now gone viral on social media where he is seen praising Dhanush. 
    The video is from the music launch of the film Kaala in 2018 where the superstar is showering his “son-in-law” with compliments.

    He says in the video, “Dhanush is a wonderful boy. He respects his parents, considers them God. He takes care of his wife. He is a good father, a good son-in-law, a good man, a good talent.” 

    Soon after the video resurfaced on social media, people have been reacting to it “Feeling sad For Rajini”. One user wrote, “Apart From Trolls. Feeling sad For Rajini. Stay Strong”. 
    Another tweeted, “That bond” with a broken heart emoji.

    — kinnnng ShaarK.... (@2KinnngShark2) January 18, 2022 According to TOI, Rajinikanth tried to make amends between Dhanush and Aishwarya but the Atrangi Re star avoided meeting his father-in-law and stayed away from the home as he didn’t want to disrespect him.  
    The report also stated that even though they have decided to split, they won’t be filing for an official divorce and will continue to co-parent their two sons, Yathra (born 2006) and Linga (born 2010).

    Sharing the statement announcing his split, Dhanush stated, “Eighteen years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.     Atrangi Re actor Dhanush and his wife Aishwaryaa, Rajinikanth's eldest daughter, startled fans and well-wishers when they announced their separation recently. After being together for 18 years, the couple has decided to part ways in order to "take time to understand" themselves as individuals. Both of them announced the news on social media and shared identical statements.

    Amid Dhanush and Aishwaryaa's divorce rumours, their fans are extending their support to the estranged couple as well as Rajinikanth. However, in a recent interview, the actor's father Kasthuri Raja has hinted that their split may be temporary. Yes, you read that right!

    Calling Dhanush and Aishwaryaa's separation "a family quarrel", Raja shared that the split has taken place only because of a disagreement. He told Dailythandhi newspaper, "It is a family quarrel that usually takes place between a married couple". This is not a divorce apparently, Raja added. He also revealed that "Dhanush and Aishwaryaa are not in Chennai at present. Both are in Hyderabad. I spoke to both of them over the phone and gave them some advice".

    Well, we just hope that Dhanush and Aishwaryaa resolve their issues and reconcile soon. 
    For the unversed, the duo tied the knot in 2004 and was said to be in a happy space. Dhanush and Aishwaryaa are parents to two sons, Yatra and Linga. They welcomed their first child, Yatra, in 2006 while Linga was born in 2010.

    Former Indian cricketer and cricket analyst Sanjay Manjrekar is being trolled by the fans of the Indian cricket team for leaving Shikhar Dhawan out of his predicted Playing XI for the first ODI between India and South Africa at the Boland Park, Paarl.
    A day before the first of three One Day Internationals was supposed to take place, Manjrekar had predicted the team of 11 Indian cricketers who would be stepping into the field. For the opening position in the batting order, Manjrekar had decided to favour age over experience and chose the young Venkatesh Iyer alongside the stand-in captain KL Rahul over Dhawan.

    Albeit he added that the reason for picking Iyer over Dhawan was to try and jam in a sixth bowling option for the skipper to go to if he felt that the match was slipping out of his hand at any point in time.
    “My main obsession was fitting that 6th bowling option and that’s where Venkatesh Iyer comes into my plans. And if Venkatesh Iyer is going to be in the team, might as well open with him because it’s something special about him when he opens the innings. So just to put pressure on the opposition have Venkatesh Iyer. Rest Shikhar Dhawan for maybe this match,” Manjrekar had written for ESPNcricinfo.

    As it turns out, Dhawan was not only included in the actual Playing XI for the Men in Blue, he also went on to smash 10 fours, and scored the most runs for his side and being the strongest link for the squad before getting dismissed at 79 in the 26th over.
    Looking at Gabbar exceed all expectations and prove Manjrekar wrong in his assessment of the 36-year old, fans of the team and the player hopped on Twitter to have some fun with the analyst:

Nonetheless, Ashwin did make his first ODI appearance since 2017, dismissed the Protea opener Quinton de Kock and proved to be one of the more economical bowlers for Rahul.
    However, the efforts put in by Dhawan and Ashwin weren’t enough to chase down South Africa’s 296-run total, although the southpaw batter did manage to hold the fort and score big runs at the beginning of Indian batting alongside Virat Kohli for the second wicket and even shared a 92-run partnership.
    After losing the match by 31 runs, India are losing the series 0-1. However, they have two more matches to get redemption for the insult they faced while losing the Test series. The second ODI is also scheduled to take place at the same venue on January 21.
