The advent of technology has changed everything around us in a very subtle way. From travelling to connecting with people sitting miles apart, technology has become an important part of our lives.

Technology has changed the shape of various industries, including the broadcasting industry. If you are a cricket fanatic you would know how a small object like a stump mic has made the game more immersive.
We might be sitting millions of miles away from the actual venue but we could hear exactly what the players were talking about, thanks to the little microphones that are embedded in the stumps fixed on either side of the 22-yard playing surface.

Earlier, even after going to the stadium, we used to be oblivious to what was going around in the middle, but that’s not the case anymore. Every now and then we come across conversations which make us realise what we had been missing before this wonder instrument came into being.

One such gem of a conversation took place between India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul and fast bowler Mohammed Siraj on Day 2 of the second Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.

Due to rising COVID-19 cases in the Rainbow Nation, the matches on the ongoing tour are being played behind closed doors and that’s why everything that is being said in the middle directly reaches us via the stump mic.

In a video doing rounds on social media, KL Rahul can be heard asking Siraj whether he was ready to bowl or needed some time to carry out his stretches before starting his spell. This entire conversation took place in Hindi, which wasn’t their first language.
Both the players hail from the Southern part of India. While Rahul hails from Karnataka, Siraj is from the neighbouring city of Hyderabad.

In the viral video, the stand-in skipper can be heard asking Siraj: “Miyaan aaja. Theek hai, garam hai? Ke chaiye 2 aur over. Bolde. (Miyaan c’mon, are you all warmed up or need two more overs. Tell Me) ”

Before coming into the attack, a fast bowler needs to warm up and Rahul perhaps wanted to ask him just that. Had he asked the exact same thing in the language he was more comfortable with i.e., English, we wouldn’t have found it hilarious at all.

This also teaches us one important lesson that we shouldn’t take everything at the face value because sometimes, things do get lost in the translation.

If there is one thing that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio of Hollywood share, it's that both the actors are tremendously successful in making films in their respective industries.

Now, before you start throwing tomatoes, I know that there is obviously a stark difference between acting in Hollywood and Bollywood, mainly because of the kind and the nature of movies being made.

However, one thing is for certain, that star power really works in both industries.
The amount of eyeballs Leonardo gets to a Hollywood movie and Shah Rukh gets for a Bollywood movie, is truly insane.
What if I told you that there was a time once when both actors were to join alliances for a movie? Sounds crazy, right?
    But it is the truth!
The two stars from Bollywood and Hollywood were reported to act together in a big Hollywood movie.
And guess what? The movie was going to be made by none other than legendary director Martin Scorcese, who has made films like The Wolf Of The Wall Street, Shutter Island, and The Irishman.
According to reports, Shah Rukh and Leonardo were was reportedly close to being a part of a big Hollywood project called Xtreme City.
As per reports, Shah Rukh had met Martin Scorsese at the Berlin Film Festival in 2011.

    — Faridoon Shahryar (@iFaridoon) March 4, 2016
The meeting reportedly had Leonardo, producer David Weisman, writer/director Paul Schrader and Mushtaq Sheikh, Shah Rukh's close friend.
The movie, which was a Hollywood gangster film, was to be produced by Scorcese, Weisman, and directed by Schrader. The movie was reported to have Leo play the role of a cop and SRK the role of a gangster.
As per an old interview given by Sheikh at the time, Shah Rukh's friend described the details of the movie's plot.
"It's a different kind of film, one where both Indian and American protagonists are balanced human beings and the story treats them in their full complexity without either culture being diminished or taken for granted. It's a cross-cultural thriller designed for both Bollywood and Hollywood. And if we get it right, (then) this will be an attempt at true global entertainment." said Sheikh.
Unfortunately, however, the movie never took off, or else we could have been talking about, what could have been the movie of the century!
On the work fronts, both Shah Rukh and Leo are well and underway, with Leo starring in Netflix's Don't Look Up and Shah Rukh making his comeback with Pathan.

Salman Khan is not just an actor in the big world of Bollywood. In his career which spans for over three decades, the man represents a certain emotion for his fans and loved ones. Salman ‘bhai’, as he is lovingly called, has an insane amount of power when it comes to influencing people who follow him. Recently, when Katrina Kaif tied the knot, and Salman was not in the country owing to his Da-bangg tour, his anxious fans felt sad that he wasn’t in town. Now, after his rehearsal videos from the tour are doing the rounds on the internet, his fans are worried about the sudden weight gain that they see and other trollers who are just busy commenting on his physique.

Some random internet trolls went on to say that his body in his last movie Antim was actually fake and the 56 year old actor looks like this. What people don’t understand is that he’s probably more fit at 56 than most people are in their 20s! People really need to relax. The actor is now busy finishing his next big outing Tiger 3 , which also stars Katrina in the lead role.

Shoojit Sircar has given some of the most powerful and impactful films in Bollywood during his career as a filmmaker, which includes Deepika Padukone starrer Piku, Taapsee’s Pink, Madras Cafe starring John Abrahan, October and recently, Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham.
He is without a doubt one of the most bankable and sought-after directors in the Hindi film industry.

After watching emotion-evoking films like these, the audience expects a part two that takes the story forward or eagerly waits for a film that weaves on the same lines.

However, Sircar doesn’t believe in making sequels until he has a strong storyline that lives up the hype of the original one.
    © Instagram/Shoojit Sircar
He has not made a sequel to any of his films and recently shared that he has no plans to release a sequel of his films in the near future, to the dismay of fans.

He said, “You need to have a powerful story to do that. I think more or less, we have tried to put in everything on that one film, so I do not know what is left for the second film. I also quickly get bored with the same idea, so I need to move on. That is also the problem.”
    © Instagram/Shoojit Sircar
He said he has been offered big money to make sequels for his best hits but he has turned them down. “I have been offered big money to make sequels to more or less all my films — Piku (2015), even Madras Café. People ask me for the next part of Pink (2016). I have not found any story to move ahead and make a sequel,” he added.

Piku, for one, had an open-ended climax where Deepika says her father had sorted things for her before he died and we see her and Irrfan playing badminton hinting at a budding relationship. However, there are no sequels on the cards for this film.

    © Instagram/Shoojit Sircar
He also said that apart from making films, he takes time out and indulges in the other things and activities he loves but he is open to what comes along the way. “I am not a factory, that I will keep churning out films. I am studying, doing gardening, I play football, and a lot of thinking and discussing. Let’s see what comes out.” said Sircar.

He further added, “At the end of the day, it is an expression, art. It comes from pure passion, so it is not my only livelihood that I am dependent on. Yes, I am dependent, but I am not doing this because I have to churn out films and make sure it is running. It is purely what drives me. Only when it triggers me, I move, otherwise, I don’t.”

And we completely agree. He is one of the leading and best filmmakers in Bollywood for a reason; this reason!

At the RRR  pre-release event in Mumbai, host Karan Johar played a game with NTR Jr and Ram Charan asking them questions about each other with Alia Bhatt playing the judge.
During the round, among other questions, Karan asked the two actors, “Who is maximum on the phone?” Breaking the rules of the game, NTR Jr involved Alia as well and pointed at her.
When Ram Charan said that Alia is not included in the game, NTR Jr quipped and winked, “You have to include her in this because she had to handle her ‘long distance relationship’.” Everyone present was left in splits while Alia could not help but blush at the quip.
Further talking about Alia managing her “long distance relationship”, NTR Jr added, “She was on the phone. I don’t know what happened but she was on video call also.” As soon as Taarak mentioned “video call” Alia was left dumbfounded.

He then continued, “There is this crazy video call which used to happen…” and went on to enact how Alia used to casually operate the phone while sitting in a car.

At this point, Alia took the charge and physically stopped NTR Jr from spilling further beans about her “long distance relationship” and “video calls”.
Although he didn’t name anyone, it was quite clear he was referring to her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor as a few moments earlier Karan had also cracked a joke about the presence of “R” in Alia’s life as she came on board for RRR.

With RRR, SS Rajamouli takes real-life freedom fighters and weaves a fictional tale around them.
Besides NTR Jr, Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt, RRR also stars Shriya Saran and Ajay Devgn in pivotal roles.

The hype around RRR is at an all-time high as it is SS Rajamouli’s next directorial after the grand spectacles that were the Baahubali films.

The movie was supposed to release on January 7, 2022, but has not been postponed due to the Omicron scare.

KL Rahul, who has been amongst the runs in the ongoing Test series against South Africa, got the chance to lead the Indian side after regular captain Virat Kohli was ruled out just before the toss of the second match due to an upper back spasm.
KL Rahul led from the front on the opening day of the second Test with a gritty half-century on a day when other Indian batters failed to leave any mark.
While fans praised the 29-year-old's fine knock, a few also noticed a rare sight -- India's stand-in skipper playing without any sponsor on his bat.
A Twitter user posted a picture of Rahul where the India opener can be seen playing with a bat without any sponsorship stickers on the front of his willow.
Co-owner of the Lucknow-based Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Harsh Goenka came up with a cryptic response to the tweet that left many wondering whether KL Rahul will lead Lucknow in IPL 2022.

    — Nishant Dadhich (@nishant_dadhich) January 3, 2022KL Rahul was the captain of Punjab Kings in the previous edition of the IPL but he failed to take his side into the playoffs. Rahul was not retained by Punjab Kings and the opening batter will be up for grabs in the upcoming player auction.
Rahul, who is leading India in the ongoing second Test vs South Africa, was named as the captain of the One-Day International squad for the upcoming series against South Africa after Rohit Sharma was ruled out due to a hamstring injury.

Rahul's emergence as a leader in the national setup can be a reason why the two new franchises will look to offer him captaincy, if they manage to pick him at the auction.
The mega player auction is expected to be held next month where all the 10 teams will look to strengthen their squads.
The existing eight franchises have already named their list of retained players and a few big names including the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not go under the hammer as they will play for their respective franchises -- Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.
