    With regular skipper Virat Kohli missing the second Test against South Africa due to back spasm, all eyes were on two senior most members of the team Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.

    Both the Test specialists are going through a horrid run at the moment and many believe their international career is hanging by a thread. In fact, many fans and experts had expected the team management to drop at least one of them on the bench going into a crucial encounter and included more deserving players like Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer.

    However, injury to the Indian Test skipper meant that both the veteran players were able to retain their position in the Indian batting line-up, with Vihari coming in place of injured Kohli.

    They managed to get one more Test appearance under their belt but they turned sorry figures with the bat, getting out on successive deliveries from Duanne Olivier in the morning session on Day 1.

    The biggest worrying sign was that the deliveries that sent them packing were pretty ordinary balls and could have been easily left had they played with a little bit of caution. The Saurahstra batter struggled his way to three off 33 deliveries but foiled all his hard work by playing a reckless shot off a short-of-length delivery from Olivier which went straight to Temba Bavuma at point.

    If Pujara’s dismissal was ugly, Rahane’s wicket was even more horrendous. Olivier bowled a decent delivery outside off stump but the 33-year-old batter threw his bat at it and ended up giving a simple catch to the slip cordon off the very first delivery that he faced. This was his first golden duck of his Test career.

    The way both the batters threw away their wickets, the fans who had already lost their patience with them started bidding farewell to them on the micro-blogging site.

    Making the bold claim after Rahane’s dismissal, the ‘Little Master’ said that he wouldn't be surprised if they didn’t  turn up for India ever again after this match. He also added that the only way they could save their career was if they performed in the second innings of the ongoing second Test match in Johannesburg. If not they should be ready to pack their bags.

    “After those two dismissals one can say that they probably have just the next innings, both Pujara and Rahane, to save their Test careers,” Gavaskar said in the commentary box.

    “There have been questions asked about their place in the team and now with these two dismissals they have just one innings left. If there is another innings and the way India is going, it looks like there will be another for them to score something and maybe keep their place in the team,” said the batting legend.

    Every good thing comes to an end and it seems like both these veteran cricketers have run their course and it’s time that we look at the future and give opportunities to the youngsters.

    Music composer AR Rahman is beaming with joy as his daughter Khatija Rahman got engaged to Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, an audio engineer by profession. The engagement ceremony was held on December 29, 2021, on the occasion of Khatija’s birthday in the presence of both the families and close friends. 
    Taking to social media, Khatija shared the good news with her followers by posting a picture collage featuring her and Riyasdeen. For the low-key engagement ceremony, Khatija opted for a pink and silver outfit paired with matching jewellary and a garland.

    Heartiest congratulations to the couple!
    As per Riyasdeen's Instagram profile, he is a Live Sound Engineer and an aspiring entrepreneur. According to reports in ETimes, he seems to have teamed up with father-in-law AR Rahman on various international concerts and tours. He has over 5,000 Instagram followers and his profile hints at his passion for audio engineering.
    For the unversed, even Khatija has performed with her father AR Rahman in 2019 during Mumbai's U2 concert. She even crooned the song Rock A Bye Baby for Kriti Sanon's Netflix film Mimi and got appreciation for her singing skills. Khatija has also sung songs in a few Tamil films.

    Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of the most sought-after celebrity couples in Bollywood. 
    After keeping their relationship under wraps for the longest time, they have been lately flexing about it by indulging in social media PDA, being flirty in press interviews for their upcoming film Brahmastra and jetting off to romantic getaways.

    The duo recently came back from their New Year holiday and was clicked at the airport lobby together. 

    Talking about their airport looks, they did not colour-coordinate their outfits like they did when they were flying off. However, they did manage to look on point.

    Unlike other celebs and their airport looks, their fashion game is cool and chic rather than OTT and maximalist. 

    Ranbir dresses up mostly in a casual outfit like baggy pants and a sweatshirt, and so does Alia in her basic tees and tops and denims. 
    This time too, they gave major fashion goals by acing their airport looks in the most minimalist way.

    Alia wore a black sleeveless top and boot-cut jeans and was carrying a Dolce & Gabbana bag and a puffer jacket in hand. 

    Ranbir, however, aced the airport look in a sweatshirt and cargo pants all in army green and paired the outfit with a camouflage mask and muddy shoes that came with a heeled base.

    Ranbir’s outfit isn’t complete until he adds a cap or a beanie. He wore a brown baseball cap backwards (in a way that only he can) and it looked super cool. 

    Also, this whole outfit had a theme going on. It was monochromatic in shades of green, beige and brown. He looked like he wanted to camouflage but couldn’t.

    He was also carrying a blue backpack in camouflage print, again (see, there’s definitely a pattern here), which matched with Alia’s face mask.

    Virender Sehwag was one of the most explosive batters to have played the game. He was a player who never cared about a bowler’s reputation and used to play his shots no matter which format he played in.
    Given his aggressive batting style, most people thought his skills were more suited to the limited-overs format and he would never succeed in the longest format of the game.

    However, he proved every critic wrong and established himself as one of India’s most successful Test openers of all-time. With his arrival in the Test squad, Viru changed the whole dynamics of the Indian Test team.
    He was the first Indian batter to score a triple century in Test cricket and as of now he is the only Indian cricketer to score two triple hundred in red-ball cricket which speaks volumes of how he tormented the bowling line-ups in the game’s most challenging format.

    Apart from his incredible batting skills, Sehwag also had the ability of influencing the match officials either by sweet talks or any other means. He once gave a few branded gifts to former Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf and convinced him to rule in his favour and he did exactly that during the famous 2008 Mohali Test against Australia.
    During an interview Sehwag had revealed that he gifted Rauf some branded shoes, glasses and t-shirts and convinced him to not raise his finger against him and he obliged during the 2008 Test match in Mohali.

    The former India opener said that he was batting somewhere in the 80s but ended up edging a short-pitch delivery from Mitchell Johnson but the Pakistani match official didn’t move his finger. Back then, there was no provision of Decision Review System (DRS) as India was against the technology. So, the whole power was with the on-field umpire.

    “Asad Rauf was very fond of collecting things. He loved wearing branded glasses, t-shirts, shoes among other things. I was the brand ambassador of Adidas at the time, so I gifted him shoes, t-shirts, and glasses and I jokingly told him not to raise his finger while I am batting,” Sehwag had said in an interview.
    “And he did exactly that. We were playing against Australia in Mohali in 2008 – the same match where VVS Laxman got us over the line. Mitchell Johnson bowled a short-pitch delivery and I attempted a cut shot but ended up edging it. So thick was the edge that it was heard even inside the dressing room but Rauf gave me not out.

    Sehwag said the edge was so thick that even the players who were sitting in the dressing room could hear that clearly but Rauf turned blind eye to Australia’s strong appeal and sided with him.
    “Ricky Ponting was so angry that he went to the umpire and argued how he could give it not out. The umpire told him that there was no edge. Ponting then rushed to me and asked ‘Did you nick it?’ I said ‘Yes’. He then went back to Asad Rauf and told him ‘even Viru is saying he nicked it’. Then they both came up to me and Rauf asked me ‘Did you nick it?’ to which I said ‘No’.

    “Ponting then started arguing with me ‘you just said you nicked it’. Then I told him “Mr Ponting you never walked and you’re expecting somebody else to walk. I told him that the umpire has a job to do, let him do his job and you do yours and I’ll do mine,” Sehwag added.
    Rauf was a member of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel from 2006 to 2103 and officiated in several high profile matches. He was later banned by the world cricket governing body for his involvement in spot-fixing and we weren’t surprised.

    Sehwag might argue that the gifts which he gave to Rauf was not to influence his decision-making and he didn’t know that the umpire would take his joke seriously and actually rule in his favour.

    But the fact remains that as much as Rauf was the real culprit, Sehwag was also equally guilty and he should consider himself lucky that he got away without any punishment.

    Salman Khan is one of the biggest superstars in Bollywood and you'd expect him to be literally scared of nothing or absolutely no one.
    Not only does he have an army of die-hard fans but enjoys a lot of power in Bollywood, having worked in the industry for more than three decades. 
    Yet, even Salman likes to be on the safer side of things, which is one of the reasons why he sports the turquoise bracelet in his hand.

    Well, talking about it in one of his old interviews, Salman revealed how it was a present from his father, Salim Khan, who also wears it.

    “My father has always worn this. And growing up, it used to look cool on his hand. How kids play with things, I used to play with his bracelet. And then when I started off working, he got me the exact one. This stone is called firozah.” said Salman, when being questioned by a fan regarding the bracelet.
    Salman even described how his bracelet is one of the two types of 'living stones', which breaks when there is negativity around him.
    Not just that, he also revealed how this is the seventh such bracelet that he's been wearing since the others before it cracked.
    “What happens with this is that if there’s any negativity coming onto you, first, this takes it, it gets veins in them and then it cracks. This is my seventh stone,” said Salman.
    We only wonder what happened to the stone recently as Salman was unfortunately bitten by a snake in a freak accident.
    Salman had been celebrating his 56th birthday at his lavish Panvel farmhouse, however, he was reportedly bitten by a snake just prior to it.
    Luckily for Salman and his family, the snake was a non-venomous one and Salman just had to spend a few hours in the hospital.
    Speaking with ANI after the incident, Salman recalled the conversation he had with his father.
    "When my dad came to know about this incident, he called to ask if the snake was fine and alive. So I told him Tiger and the snake both are alive. He asked if we hurt the snake, I said we didn't, we handled it with utmost care and love and left it in the jungle.” said Salman.

    You have heard celebrities enjoying the perks of their stardom, courtesy the fanbase they enjoy. However, how many times have you heard of a normal human being enjoying some perks in life simply because they belong to the homeland of a certain celebrity?

    We know how SRK‘s global presence is unmatched and he is probably the biggest superstar produced on this planet. One of the stellar examples of how far his fans are willing to go in the name of some love for him was reiterated recently when an Indian tourist shared her travel tale.
    Turns out, the ‘desi’ tourist needed to transfer some money to an agent in Egypt for her trip and due to some technical issues she was facing, it couldn’t happen. The man happily helped her with booking without an advance payment. Why? Simply because she belonged to SRK’s country and he is a huge fan.

    Telugu superstar Allu Arjun is slowly and steadily showing that he has all that it takes to become a superstar in Bollywood.

    Having already ruled in the Telugu film industry, Allu could very well be in line to make his big move to Bollywood, which is considered to be the premier industry in India when it comes to films.
    With so much money, glamour, and recognition at stake, Allu's entry into the industry could be a spectacular one for both the actor and for Bollywood, which at times of the pandemic could very well do good with the addition of a big name from South India.
    One only needs to look at the success of Allu's latest film Pushpa, which has had a ridiculously good box office presence.

    The movie, which also stars popular actress Rashmika Mandanna, would have added crazy revenue to Bollywood, had it been made under the industry.

    So, what about Allu's debut? Is he getting one soon?
    Well, it sure looks like it, with the actor himself revealing that he's gotten an offer from Bollywood.
    "I have got an offer but nothing concrete or exciting. Hopefully soon (it will happen). It does take courage, you have to risk it (to work in another industry)," Arjun said while speaking with PTI.
    However, Allu has revealed that he will only take up a Hindi movie on one condition, which will be around him playing the role of a protagonist.
    Elaborating more on that, Allu said, "When we are the protagonist of the films that we do, anybody who comes to us will only come with the offer to play a protagonist, I would not be interested in anything (else). And it is very well understood. Even the other person will not come and it doesn't make sense to ask such a big star to play a second role as it damages the film, they also know it. You have to work as a protagonist, as the main lead."

    I mean, Allu Arjun is definitely one actor who will add that star-power and eyeballs to the industry, which could very well help during these testing times in Bollywood, where footfalls have been very, very low.
