Before leaving for South Africa, the former captain of the white-ball cricket for India, Virat Kohli made sure that he was going to leave behind something special for the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to deal with in his absence.
And surely enough, a few of the questions that were asked during the media interaction managed to get the better of Ganguly, especially after what Kohli said was in complete contradiction to Dada’s take which was made no more than a day ago.
#EJSports | #ViratKohli's fiery press conference in Mumbai. Says he wasn't contacted in time before ODI captaincy snub & speaks at length about his 'alleged fight' with #RohitSharma @imVkohli @ImRo45 @BCCI pic.twitter.com/ZhsjSf9uSz
— editorji (@editorji) December 15, 2021
After Kohli refuted Ganguly’s words about asking him to remain the T20I captain of the Indian cricket team and got done with the conference, an anonymous BCCI source told PTI that none of the senior members of the board, including Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah was amused by what the Test captain told the journalists.
In fact, as soon as the conference ended, both Ganguly and Shah reportedly had a zoom call of their own and finalised that they would not be holding yet another press conference or making any public statements. Their aim is now to manage the matter internally.
I personally requested him (Kohli) not to give up the T20I captaincy :Sourav Ganguly

According to News 18, Ganguly had said that the Indian cricket board with “deal with it appropriately” which also sounded as if he was threatening Virat Kohli , according to several fans on the internet.
The PTI report goes on to say that “experts” were being involved in the matter because the case wasn’t simply about solving a simple controversy but also had to do with saving the reputation of the BCCI President’s office. The board also wanted to ensure that no hasty decisions were made as they were looking at a major Test series in front of them against the Proteas and would not want to shake the morale of the squad.

No centrally-contracted player of the Indian cricket team is supposed to make critical comments publicly about the BCCI or any of the members who hold an office in the organisation. However, Virat Kohli’s case is rather unique as he was simply answering a media question and wished to clarify his stance on a particular situation. The fact that he remains arguably the biggest and most talked-about name in the game, also adds significantly to the equation.

North Korea is infamous for its cruel government rule, bad human rights situation and atrocities the citizens face. The unreasonable restrictions and bans make the lives of people living in the country incredibly difficult.
In another such horrible ban, they have now been prohibited to laugh for a period of 10 days.

If you think this is ridiculous, wait till you hear the reason for this ban.
It is imposed to observe the death anniversary of the former Korean leader Kim Jong-il, the father of current president Kim Jong-un.
This year will mark the 10th death anniversary of Kim Jong-il on 17th December and thus, citizens are required to enter the mourning period for 10 days.

Every year, the country observes the morning period during which people are not allowed to drink alcohol, go shopping (even for groceries) or enjoy any leisure activities.
In addition to these restrictions, this year, people will not be allowed to even laugh, or they would face serious consequences.

"In the past, many people who were caught drinking or being intoxicated during the mourning period were arrested and treated as ideological criminals," the unnamed citizen said adding, "They were taken away and never seen again," an unnamed resident told a leading daily.

They are not even allowed to carry funeral rites or celebrate birthdays during this period.
"Even if your family member dies during the mourning period, you are not allowed to cry out loud and the body must be taken out after it's over. People cannot even celebrate their own birthdays if they fall within the mourning period,” he added.

People on social media are feeling sorry for those living in North Korea and saying it’s highly unfair. Some are laughing at the rule saying it’s the most ridiculous they have come across. And, they are not wrong.
Here is how people are reacting.
If the above news is true then I feel very sorry for those residing in North Korean cos this is oppression; I feel so upset that other governmental bodies & unions are letting such a tyranny govt go unchecked. What happen to the people having Human Rights? This is wickedness.
— Daniel Regha (@DanielRegha) December 16, 2021what kind of rule is this one family rule since ages like INC in India
— sandesh (@tsandeshsingh) December 17, 2021Can we laugh on the ban?
— donut distributor (@ULibral) December 17, 202111 days!..Check well, there’s high rate of depression in North korea. There government be acting like sadist.
— Have you eaten fruit today? (@KramzSalad) December 16, 2021Might as well ban their people for breathing.
— boKlog (@Marthynicolas) December 16, 2021It’s always weirding me out how much millions of people can take from their insane leaders without fighting back or even support him
— Salam (@salam_peace2) December 16, 2021That is easy of North Koreans, hardly would they be smiling already
— Sandiiip (@IndiaUnleashed_) December 17, 2021 Ironically, this ban and the government rule has become a laughing stock for the world.

As it was expected before the release, Spider-Man: No Way Home has done just that. The latest Marvel Studios blockbuster has broken the opening day pandemic record in India by leaps and bounds.
The advance booking of the film had seen outstanding response with shows starting from 5 am in the morning in many parts of the country and being sold out in a span of a few hours and sometimes even minutes.
© Marvel Studios
A huge opening was expected from the film but the question was if it will be able to beat Sooryavanshi’s opening day figure.
While Sooryavanshi had collected Rs 26.5 crore on its opening day, Spider-Man: No Way Home has reached new heights with opening day collections in the range of Rs 33 crore, according to Box office India.
© Rohit Shetty Picturez
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now the second biggest opener in India edging past Avengers: Infinity War and behind only the mammoth figure of Avenger: Endgame.
As for the films released in the year 2021, at all India levels, Spider-Man: No Way Home has now taken the third spot, right behind Pawan Kalyan’s Telugu film Vakeel Saab and Vijay’s Tamil film Master.
© Bayview Projects
Vakeel Saab had taken the huge opening of Rs 35 crore but couldn’t maintain the momentum in the days to follow. Spider-Man: No Way Home on the other hand is expected to earn well over the weekend and stay steady in the coming days as well.
The report has also stated that if not for the pandemic, the opening day figure of Spider-Man: No Way Home would’ve been even Rs 10 crore higher than what it is now i.e in the range of Rs 43 crore.
While the response from the audience and critics have been phenomenal, it has to be seen how soon Spider-Man: No Way Home hit Rs 100 crore at the box office in India.

As far as Hindi films are concerned, there are two big releases in the coming weeks, Ranveer Singh starrer 83 and Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey. 83 expected to open big. But can it break Sooryavanshi and Spider-Man: No Way Home’s opening day figure? We’ll know on December 24.

Allu Arjun’s last release Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was a record-breaking hit in Telugu states and fans were waiting for his next release, the ambitious Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 with bated breath.
However, it seems like the movie has failed to live up to the expectations.
Made on a grand scale, Pushpa is presented as Allu Arjun’s first pan-India film and was supposed to be his official introduction to the north Indian audiences as well.
© Mythri Movie Makers
But, the early fan reactions that are coming in on social media suggest that the movie is a major disappointment. A lot of people have taken to Twitter and have expressed their disappointment with the film.
The general consensus is that the first half of the film is good and Allu Arjun’s performance throughout is outstanding and the action sequences are brilliant. But it is the second half, particularly the climax and the background score that is poor.
The movie was also in news for roping in Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil in the role of an antagonist. However, the audience reactions have suggested that he was wasted in the film and the director didn’t do justice to his talent.

One user wrote, “Decent first half..weak second half even more weak climax..Allu Arjun tried his best to excel but Sukumar failed to evoke the emotions in right manner.Flat narration with no highs whatsoever.#Puspha”.
Another tweeted, “#Puspha - (2.25/5) Party Ledu Puspha...!! Though the 1st half of the film is good with AA characterization, the 2nd half is Boring with stretched narration. Climax is as usual expected and falls flat.
All in all, the film has some worthy moments but those do not stand out.”

Since this is part one, a user has pointed out that the chances of its sequel are bleak now, “#Puspha Review : 2/5 Hit 1st Half Flop 2nd Half. @alluarjun One Man Show ,Action Next Level. Sukku Emo Teesad. DSP Motham Rod Vesi End Titles Lo Vache BGM Next Level Ichad Editing Worst. Few B Grade Scenes & Non Sync Songs Part 2 Teeyar ,Becoz Movie Will End As Failure”.

Amidst all the controversy going around in Indian cricket, the Virat Kohli-led Test squad has embarked on a new challenge. Away from this ongoing turmoil, the Indian players and the support staff flew across the Indian ocean and arrived in Johannesburg on Thursday ahead of their three-match Test series starting December 26.
A lot has been said about Kohli in the last one week but looks like he has put the setbacks in the past and is totally focused on enjoying his time in the Rainbow nation over the next couple of months.

— BCCI (@BCCI) December 16, 2021
The people were worried that after Kohli’s controversial press conference, where he took on the BCCI president and described his comments after he was sacked from ODI captaincy as “inaccurate”, the atmosphere inside the dressing room would be affected but the latest video posted by the Indian cricket board’s official Twitter handle shows exactly the opposite.
The video, which captures the players’ journey from Mumbai to Johannesburg on a chartered flight, shows all of them sharing a laugh with their teammates and pulling each other’s legs, as if nothing had happened which was a great sight for all the fans.

— BCCI (@BCCI) December 16, 2021
It was great to see skipper Kohli unfazed by the controversy in the country and having a fun time with his boys. The best part of the video is when the33-year-old leader pulls the legs of veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma by making fun of articles inside his travel bag.
As the camera pans towards Ishant’s bag, Kohli looks stunned to learn the amount of items that he was carrying in his bag. As the video progresses, Kohli bursts out laughing as he says whoever gets a hold of this bag can go for vacation in any part of the world, without worrying about anything.

Annoyed by Kohli’s early-morning antics, Ishant then tells him “subah subah mat ye kar kaam” which leads to huge laughter.
Even the fans loved the camaraderie between the two Delhi cricketers, especially Kohli’s jovial mood. They were also happy to see Kohli not letting his differences with Ganguly affect his relationship with his teammates ahead of an important series against South Africa.
