Amidst all the controversy going around in Indian cricket, the Virat Kohli-led Test squad has embarked on a new challenge. Away from this ongoing turmoil, the Indian players and the support staff flew across the Indian ocean and arrived in Johannesburg on Thursday ahead of their three-match Test series starting December 26.
A lot has been said about Kohli in the last one week but looks like he has put the setbacks in the past and is totally focused on enjoying his time in the Rainbow nation over the next couple of months.

The people were worried that after Kohli’s controversial press conference, where he took on the BCCI president and described his comments after he was sacked from ODI captaincy as “inaccurate”, the atmosphere inside the dressing room would be affected but the latest video posted by the Indian cricket board’s official Twitter handle shows exactly the opposite.

The video, which captures the players’ journey from Mumbai to Johannesburg on a chartered flight, shows all of them sharing a laugh with their teammates and pulling each other’s legs, as if nothing had happened which was a great sight for all the fans.

It was great to see skipper Kohli unfazed by the controversy in the country and having a fun time with his boys. The best part of the video is when the33-year-old leader pulls the legs of veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma by making fun of articles inside his travel bag.
As the camera pans towards Ishant’s bag, Kohli looks stunned to learn the amount of items that he was carrying in his bag. As the video progresses, Kohli bursts out laughing as he says whoever gets a hold of this bag can go for vacation in any part of the world, without worrying about anything.

Annoyed by Kohli’s early-morning antics, Ishant then tells him “subah subah mat ye kar kaam” which leads to huge laughter.
Even the fans loved the camaraderie between the two Delhi cricketers, especially Kohli’s jovial mood. They were also happy to see Kohli not letting his differences with Ganguly affect his relationship with his teammates ahead of an important series against South Africa.

The Road Ahead is Full of SPOILERS! Proceed with Caution.

After witnessing the mass hysteria and the experience that was Avengers: Endgame, I didn’t think it was possible for any future Marvel movie to even come close to it.
Well, Spider-Man: No Way Home proves me wrong. The most anticipated movie since Avengers: Endgame has everything going in its favour. The movie is receiving a lot of love from the audience and the film critics worldwide.
    © Marvel Studios
There are several iconic moments in the film but what stood out the most was its epic climax and the two highly interesting post credit scenes.

The movie takes off exactly from the moment Spider-Man’s identity is revealed to the world at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home.
He then decides to take Doctor Strange’s help but things go haywire and now he has to face the supervillains from other universes (basically, from the Spider-Man films featuring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).
    © Marvel Studios
Instead of sending them back to their universes to let them die fighting their Spider-Man, Tom’s Peter decides to help them by finding a cure for their powers/problems.

Things don’t go as planned and Spidey finds himself fighting these supervillains alongside Doctor Strange, Ned Leeds, MJ and two other versions of Spider-Man played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
With the help of Doctor Strange, Spidey sends all the supervillains and the two Peter Parkers back to their universes.
    © Marvel Studios
However, the problem is far from over for Tom’s Spider-Man and Doctor Strange as the portals to other universes are still open. All those people who know Peter Parker are entering this universe.

So, in order to save the world, Spidey asks Doctor Strange to use a spell that makes everyone forget who Peter Parker is. This included MJ, Ned and all the Avengers.
The movie ends with people having no memory of ever knowing Peter Parker. He is now all alone, on his own, no friends or family. The world doesn’t know he existed or he ever fought Thanos alongside Avengers to save half of the universe.
    © Marvel Studios
What this ending fixes is that the MCU Spider-Man is finally out of Iron Man’s shadow. The MCU Spider-Man was often criticised for being “Iron Boy Jr”. Now, that problem is sorted. Going forward, Peter will be working on his own with no Tony Stark gadgets at his disposal and now it will be interesting to see how he tackles his issue and fights supervillains.

There are also two post credit scenes in the film. The first one features Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock aka Venom. In the post credit scene of Venom: Let there be Carnage, Venom and Eddie Brock are transported to MCU where they see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on TV. Venom then says that he hates Spider-Man.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Eddie Brock is shown at a bar in Mexico, educating himself about Spider-Man and Avengers. And then they are abruptly transported back to their universe.
However, a part of Venom's symbiote is left behind. Which means, Venom is here in MCU now and will create problems for Spider-Man in the upcoming movies.
    © Marvel Studios
In the second post credit scene, we see a glimpse of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The teaser shows the consequences of Strange’s botched up spell that he used in Spider-Man: No Way Home and how it will affect the multiverse.

The teaser features Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen), Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Karl Mordo), Wong (Benedict Wong) and Evil Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).
MCU fans first saw evil Doctor Strange earlier this year in an episode of What If…? in an animated form. It will be interesting to see how Doctor Strange takes down his evil counterpart who is much stronger and powerful.
Directed by Sam Raimi, who earlier helmed the original Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will release on May 6, 2022.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are on a roll as they are promoting their upcoming movie 83. They recently went to Dubai to promote the film and their picture from the Burj Khalifa event have been creating a buzz online.
The star couple witnessed the screening of the trailer of 83 on the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, with Kapil Dev and other cast members of the movie. 83 is based on the Indian cricket team’s 1983 World Cup win. After the film’s screening, it received a standing ovation from the audience.

They are excited about the release of the movie. They chose to go all blingy for this event. Deepika Padukone paired a red short dress paired with matching stockings and pumps. She sported a retro look by tying her hair in a red coloured ruffle headband. Ranveer, who’s known for his eccentric fashion choices, wore a metallic gold high neck tee paired with scintillating yellow trousers.

As the picture of the two started going viral, they again became the victims of trolling. People on social media brutally scrutinized them for their outfits. They said Ranveer should consider changing his stylist and some even feel that Deepika’s fashion choices have also degraded. People even said Ranveer is shining more than the Burj Khalifa itself.
    Here are the reactions:

In an earlier interview, when Deepika was questioned about trolls, she said, “I am not dressing for you, I am dressing for myself, so it’s okay if you don’t like it. I think all of us have a signature style, something that you are comfortable in. I have some things that I’m comfortable with… I like to put my hair up, I like red lips. I’m fortunate enough to work with the industry experts who help me find the balance between my comfort and the current trends.”

Well, it’s the criticism that fuels Deepika Padukone to work even harder. Talking about the criticism that comes her way, she once told India Today, “Criticism fuels me. It fuels me to work harder, improve my skills and evolve the various aspects of my craft. More importantly, it fuels my personal evolution. Failure, too, has taught me a lot. I have often been put down, even written off. But I have never been bitter about these experiences. In fact. I am grateful."
Is it even fair to troll them for their own choices? Well, India is a democratic country.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, while finding himself amid a major controversy thanks to Virat Kohli’s candidness in front of the media members, is still making some major moves around the Indian cricket board. Many feel that Dada is setting up a new team of very carefully chosen names to begin the next era of Indian cricket under the leadership of ‘Ganguly And Friends’.
In a recent interview with senior journalist Boria Majumdar, Ganguly also spoke about the future of Indian cricket that may have the legendary batter, Sachin Tendulkar, playing an administrative role while sharing the BCCI’s President’s vision for the betterment of the game in the country.
Ganguly (in Backstage with @BoriaMajumdar) said "At some point, Sachin Tendulkar will also with Indian cricket in future, we need to work out".
    — Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) December 16, 2021
However, Dada admitted that Tendulkar wasn’t the same as the rest of the legendary Indian cricketers who have returned to the game as coaches and other officials and that the ‘Master Blaster’ likes to keep himself distanced from such affairs.
He also said that at the moment, the cricketing world and its top-tier names are surrounded by conflicts that can get in the way of the dream he wishes to achieve. Dada calls some of these conflicts “really really unrealistic” but nonetheless, continues to abide by them.
But considering the kind of controversy that surrounds Ganguly at the moment, Sachin Tendulkar fans have expressed their concerns towards the reputation of the former cricketer:

    — yes X (@DDG_SAVE) December 16, 2021In the recent past, Ganguly has managed to attract some of the biggest names of Indian cricket to fill up the most important positions on the ground and back in the BCCI office.
For instance, Rahul Dravid, who had refused to take up the role of the Indian head coach for years, finally said yes to the job as soon as Ravi Shastri’s tenure ended. It is safe to say that the inception of Dravid’s career as the head coach has also started on a high note, especially after the Men in Blue dominated the New Zealand side 3-0 in T20Is and also won the Test series 1-0 on home turf.
On the other hand, VVS Laxman was crowned as the bossman of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after Dravid had to vacate the position to avoid conflict of interest. Before taking up the job at the NCA, Laxman was the mentor for the IPL franchise SunRisers Hyderabad and a batting consultant for Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB)'s Vision Project.

The co-owner of the Delhi Capitals franchise in the Indian Premier League, Parth Jindal recently tweeted in favour of the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, who has found himself in the middle of a controversy thanks to a notorious press conference conducted by former white-ball captain, Virat Kohli.
In his online post, Jindal said that Ganguly’s credibility as an advocate of Indian cricket remains pristine and nobody could or should question the fact that he’d want anything but the great good of the game in the country. Jindal added that the ‘Prince of Kolkata’ would never do anything to risk or compromise the heritage of cricket and that the whole controversy must come to an end as soon as possible.
Dadas credibility is undeniable and for anyone saying anything against @SGanguly99 needs to understand what Dada has done for Indian cricket and that he would never compromise Indian cricket for anything ever. Hope this gets resolved as right now the only loser is Indian cricket.
    — Parth Jindal (@ParthJindal11) December 16, 2021
Jindal’s pro-Ganguly tweet managed to get him into a lot of trouble with the fans of the Indian cricket team who were supporting and were in favour of what Virat Kohli had said at the conference and added that this was nothing but a way for him to get in the good books of the BCCI President.

    — Archer (@poserarcher) December 16, 2021So according to you Virat did nothing for Indian cricket. Shameless uncle, do something there BFC is losing, pay attention to that first.😤
    — 🆎ವಿನೋದ್.||(ॐ)||.VINOD👑 (@Vinod68480035) December 16, 2021Kohli has been fired as ODI skipper earlier in the month, and Ganguly asserted the next day that the BCCI had tried to make a "personal request" to Kohli about not resigning as T20I captain in September and that the selectors were forced to remove him from the 50-overs position since they wished a solitary leader for all white-ball formats.
During the press conference, however, Kohli went entirely against what Ganguly had told the media (https://www.mensxp.com/sports/cricket/97923-virat-kohli-press-conference-calls-out-bcci-sourav-ganguly-lies.html) only hours before boarding a plane to South Africa for a Test and ODI series. The 33-year-old said that when he informed the Indian cricket board of his desire to stand down as T20I captain in order to manage his workload and focus on maintaining his peak form as a batter, the organisation viewed the news positively and expressed their support for the move. Nobody told him he could keep being captain in the game's shortest format.
A day after Kohli’s words in front of the media threw the spotlight at Ganguly, the latter didn’t say a lot about the recent developments, but whatever he did say, was enough for the fans to get further involved in what this controversy leads to.
“I have no comment to make. BCCI will deal with it appropriately," he told News 18, which sounded like a threat to Kohli, according to several fans online.

Ever since Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli gave an explosive press conference before going on the South Africa tour, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has become the talk of the town. The difference between Kohli and Ganguly came out in the open when the 33-year-old cricketer refuted the former India skipper’s claim regarding the captaincy change.
Since then, the only thing people are interested in knowing is why Ganguly gave an “inaccurate” statement in the media not just once but twice and what he has to say on Kohli’s remarks.
    © Reuters
The ‘Prince of Kolkata’ has finally broken his silence on this whole issue and said that “the BCCI will deal with it appropriately” and he would not be fuelling this matter by making any public statement.

“No statements, no press conference. We will deal with it, leave it to (the) BCCI,” Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata.
    © Reuters
Amidst all this, an old video of the BCCI president has gone viral which has further infuriated the negative public sentiment against him. The reason why people are questioning the BCCI’s 49-year-old boss is because, in the video, he can be heard saying that “girls don’t need to play cricket”.

To understand the context, Ganguly and the show host were talking about Sachin Tendulkar’s son following in his father’s footsteps and playing cricket professionally. While the discussion was going on, the anchor asked Ganguly how he would react if her daughter Sana expressed her desire to play cricket, just like him.

Now given his association with Indian cricket, everyone must have expected Ganguly to be fully supportive of her daughter and hoped him to give her total freedom to choose a career of her liking. But they were all in for a shock.
    © Reuters
Instead of saying that he would motivate her daughter to follow her passion, Ganguly said: “Ami Sana ke baaron korbo. Meyedar cricket khelaar dorkaar nei (I’ll ask Sana not to because girls don’t need to play cricket),” Ganguly had said during an interaction on ‘ABP Ananda’.

In an age where all efforts are being made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to make the sport more inclusive and promote women’s cricket, Ganguly’s comments highlight the medieval mindset where women are considered less able than their male counterparts and are allowed to do jobs that are pre-defined.
In the own words of BCCI Chief Saurav Ganguly “meye der cricket khela kono dorkar nei”
ie. “Girls don’t need to play cricket”.

and we are expecting Women’s IPL from him https://t.co/jkxCMkqIsg
    — Ashton Kutcher (@shekhariyat) October 26, 2021IMO, most of the Indian Cricket team is filled with toxic arrogance, false sense of masculinity, and blatant show off. Just now saw a clip where our beloved sourav Ganguly says "girls don't need to play cricket" @SGanguly99 shithead.

    — Prathisha (@prathi_17_18) December 12, 2021There's an old video circling around where Ganguly is asked what if his daughter aspires to be a cricketer. To which he replied, girls shouldn't play cricket.

    Well, that's your @BCCI president.
    — Rajeesh Nair (@iRajeeshNair) December 13, 2021 At a time when the demand for a women’s IPL is growing, the BCCI president’s such ‘misogynistic’ comments, no matter how old, do force us to question his intentions, whether he really cares about women’s cricket or his love for the game only limited to only men’s cricket.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who are in a steady relationship, are all set to share screen space for the first time in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra and their fans are desperately waiting for the film's release. However, did you know that the couple was originally supposed to make their Bollywood debut together in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film when Alia was just 11-years-old and Ranbir was around 20? Yes, you read that right!
    View this post on Instagram
Reportedly, Ranbir and Alia were all set to debut together in Bhansali's Balika Vadhu and they even did a photoshoot for the film.

Revealing the same in 2017, during an interview with Lokmat, the Tamasha star had said, "Not many people know that Alia and me were actually going to debut together when Sanjay Ji was making a film called Balika Vadhu. We had also done a photoshoot together and since then, I have been a fan of her".
Confirming the same, Alia replied, "When I met Ranbir for the first time, I was 11-years-old. He was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali and I had to do a photoshoot with him. And I was so shy that I had to keep my head on his shoulder and I could not do it".
    Watch the video here:

While Balika Vadhu failed to take off, Ranbir eventually made his debut with Bhansali's Saawariya in 2007 opposite Sonam Kapoor. Alia entered the Hindi film industry in 2012 with Karan Johar's Student of The Year. After a long wait, she finally teamed up with Bhansali for Gangubai Kathiawadi. The much-awaited film is all set to release on February 18 next year.
For the uninitiated, Ranbir and Alia started dating each other in 2017 while shooting for Brahmastra and are planning to get married soon. The much-in-love couple is expected to exchange nuptial vows in Mumbai next year in a private ceremony. According to recent reports, their wedding venue will most probably be Taj Lands End. However, the duo is yet to confirm the same.
On the professional front, the Ranbir and Alia-starrer Brahmastra is confirmed to release on September 9, 2022.

Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has been working in the film industry for a period of more than a decade.

Audiences got the first look at him in the Luv Ranjan superhit film Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which struck a chord with a large population back in 2011, despite the Bollywood film not having a big star cast.
    © Viacom18 Motion Pictures
But it was the 2018 Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety where Kartik really got the recognition that he really deserved. The movie was a superhit and Kartik was pretty much at the centre of all the positive things about it.

    © Prime Video
Soon after, Kartik was bombarded with movie roles, with the actor even replacing superstar Akshay Kumar for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the sequel to the blockbuster first film that released in 2008.

The whole new list of offers also included him getting the role for Karan Johar's Dostana 2, which was also a sequel to the superhit first film starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra.
But tragedy struck for Kartik, as it was reported that despite him shooting almost 50 per cent of Dostana 2 alongside co-actor Janhvi Kapoor, Karan decided to drop him from the film after there was a fallout between the two.
    © BCCL
Fans were left angered at the reports of the 'People's actor' being dropped out of a big Dharma Productions film, with many criticizing Karan Johar for it.

It was later reported that Karan was looking to cast Akshay Kumar as a replacement for Kartik.
However, it looks like Kartik Aaryan's ousting may have been way too costly for Karan.
    © Instagram
As per a Bollywood Hungama report, Karan has faced a very difficult time revamping the film and is now choosing to shelve the film completely.

“There was a strong buzz all across that Dostana 2 would be completely reshot with slight tweaking in the script. There was also a talk about Karan Johar approaching his close friend, Akshay Kumar to step into Kartik’s shoes. However now, there is a very strong buzz in the industry that Dostana 2 has been put on the backburner completely.” said a source speaking to Bollywood Hungama.
As per the source, Dharma Productions have now given two new projects to Jhanvi and Laksh Lalwani, the actor who was said to star in Dostana 2.
“He (Karan) tried to revamp the film, but when things were taking longer than expected, he decided to put Dostana 2 on hold completely. Janhvi is now doing a film with Sharan Sharma, whereas Lakshya is doing a film with Shashank Khaitan. Akshay on the other hand teams up with Raj Mehta. And with this, Karan has put Dostana 2 silently under the shelf, hoping that it sees the light of day sometime in future.” said the source.
That's really a shame because we kind of were looking forward to watching Dostana 2.
    What say, guys?
