    And while most of the times we like to put them on a pedestal, there are times when even our favorite superstars have let us down. Like the times when they have lied and gotten caught.
    Here are 5 Bollywood stars who told ridiculous lies and eventually got caught.
    1) Parineeti Chopra

    The super bubbly and free-spirited actress Parineeti Chopra has a reputation for being rather candid when it comes to her interviews. However, during one such interview the actress went on to share her childhood experiences where she talked about facing a financial crisis and even claimed to have faced ‘eve-teasing’. Later on, a school-mate of Parineeti’s came forward to disregard her claims and shared on social media about what really happened.

    The Kaho Na Pyaar Hai actress once went on record to announce that she had recently purchased an apartment next to Big B’s cottage in Juhu called Pratiksha. Her little white lie here was that she hadn’t really bought the apartment, but had leased it on rent. When word got out about her statement, the real owners of the apartment barred Ameesha from entering their premises.

    3) Katrina Kaif

    The stunner from Bollywood who has been in this industry for quite some time now once shared her age in an interview when she talked about being all of 8 years old at the time when the Berlin Wall fell, which happened in 1989. Now, that meant that Katrina was born in 1981. However, most of her records online about her birth date and year go on to mention her year of birth as 1983. Do we suspect foul play?
    4)  Abhishek Bachchan

    Considering his lineage, one wouldn’t expect Junior Bachchan out of all the stars to have to lie about something, but turns out he was no different. At the time of the promotions of his movie Raavan, Abhishek Bachchan had gone on record to share how he was part of some death-defying stunts during the shoot in Karnataka without even using a body-double. Except, he wasn’t. Bangalore-based diving champion, MS Balram, who was actually Abhishek’s body-double in the movie later shared the truth about how he was the one to do all those stunts and not AB.

    The actress, like many others, had gotten caught in one of her own lies when she was talking about how old she is. She happened to have celebrated her 29th birthday on a reality show The Khan sisters back in 2011. However, in Bigg Boss season 7, when Salman once asked her about how old she was, she said only a year older than Kushal who was 28 at the time. So unless she magically stayed 29 for 2 years, she was definitely lying!

    What actors wear in movies often becomes a huge fashion trend that is followed by the fans even years after the release of the film. These outfits become iconic and synonymous to the character that we can’t help but steal for ourselves. Movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun gave major wedding wardrobe goals, while newer films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani gave us travel outfit inspirations.

    However, looking back at these costumes, we realise some of them actually didn’t make sense. Whether they were wrong for the weather or simply weird in terms of the characters the actors were playing, some of the most iconic outfits in Bollywood movies now make us question the styling in the film.

    Here are five such iconic Bollywood costumes that were simply pointless.

    Shah Rukh Khan’s look in Mohabbatien got so famous that everyone copied it for Bollywood themed-parties and fancy dresses. However, take a moment to think, who would just buy a nice sweater to hang it over his shoulder all the time? We don’t see Raj Aryan wearing the pullover even once in the entire movie and this is pretty strange.

    We get it. In the Bollywood world, actresses don’t feel cold. However, we don’t expect this from a millennial movie in the 21st century, especially when the second female lead, Kalki, is packed in a jacket and a muffler. Why is DP strolling the streets in a knee-length dress and a light cardigan?

    Another gem from Mohabbatein, the principal of Gurukul, Narayan Shankar only wears the same black heavy bandhgala kurta with a jacket every day to school, to parties and everywhere else I am guessing. When he is not wearing that, he is wearing a stark white kurta and a shawl. We get that he is strict but the man’s gotta have other clothes.

    Hritik Roshan has a very questionable wardrobe before he becomes the superhero Krrish. He lives in a small village in the mountains where everyone dresses normally but him. He wears sleeveless, V-neck wrap-around shirts with Aladdin pants and a thin stole. If his grandma wanted to keep him hidden, she should have gotten him normal clothes to blend with other normal-dressing people.

    Salman Khan’s character Prem was so obsessed with suspenders in this movie that he is even wearing a pair in the portrait his elder brother makes for him. He wears them to the office, at home and at family functions.

    Someone should have told him it doesn’t look as flattering as he thinks. Also, why is Nisha all dressed up late at night at home? Anyway, the wardrobe from the movie was a major hit.

    I’ve realised that there are only a handful of things in life that can get you happiness. Cheesy fries, a good weekend binge, sleeping on a hotel room mattress, season end sale and well of course - ***. In fact, if I were to rank any or all of these, it is but obvious that *** would rule the list.

    Now imagine, if something were to take away or mess the only few things in your life that bring you happiness. Like an unannounced STD that you didn’t even realise you contracted. 
    Here are 4 unconventional ways you’re likely to contract an STD from and must be super wary of going forward.
    1) Cigarettes

    You may be sharing an old anecdote with a friend or work woes with a colleague, sharing a cigarette as you may be sharing that moment, without realising that the harmless act of bonding would actually make you prone to catching an STD. Turns out not all STDs are contracted during *** or exposure to private parts, but some even get spread through oral contact .
    Which is why it is always advised to never share the same glass, lip balm or even cigarette with someone lest you want to risk getting infected.

    Yet another way of catching hold of a serious sexually transmitted disease is through use of towels (especially damp and moist) that have been used by someone else before. Sexually transmitted diseases are both viruses and bacteria and so they can survive in any environment that can help them thrive - like a wet towel that is warm and moist for them to linger on to after someone may have used it to clean themselves, in which case it would be left behind to infect someone new.

    You may be getting super late for an event or a party and there would be no time to rush down to the market to get a razor or simply visit a salon. And so, with much hesitation, you decide to borrow it from your roommate or your friend, because what’s the worst that could happen, right? Turns out, the worst is an STD like Hepatitis B which can easily be contracted through a used razor blade, which might already have blood left over it from a possibly infected person. 

    4) Used *** Toys

    As much as we might endorse healthy masturbation, use of second hand ***-toys is a total no-no. Simply because you can never be too sure of whether it is entirely sterilized and safe to use or not, especially after it has been in the single place that is known to transmit STDs in the first place. And even if it hasn’t been used but was simply owned by a person, who’s to say it didn’t accumulate dust and germs over it while lying in someone’s drawer or a closet?

    Be it his comments on people from the industry, their movies, or gossips, he has taken the status of being Bollywood's Gossip Queen all on his own. The self-proclaimed critic, who does movie reviews almost all the time, is actually entangled in a defamation suit by Salman Khan, however, that has clearly not stopped him from coming up with new things.

    Because love him or hate him, KRK is one person who looks like he's not scared of anyone. And this time he's targeting a Bollywood star, unlike others. Ranveer Singh.

    We all know how immensely talented Ranveer is and how he's made a name for himself and cemented his status as being a top, top Bollywood superstar, on the basis of his efforts and the roles that he does. However, according to KRK, Ranveer wouldn't have become that big a star had he not gotten help from his father and Yash Raj Films.

    An expert in saying things out of the ordinary, KRK actually says that Ranveer's dad actually paid Yash Raj Film's Aditya Chopra a staggering sum of Rs 20 crore in order for him to get launched in the industry. As you all know, Ranveer got his much-anticipated break in the industry with 2010's Band Baaja Baaraat, in which Ranveer played the role of Bittoo Sharma opposite Anushka Sharma.

    Backed by the YRF banner, the movie was a huge success at the box office with Ranveer even winning a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, something that obviously helped him get the best kickstart to his Bollywood career. But according to KRK, YRF did not sign Ranveer on their own accord but on the condition that his father paid them Rs 20 crore.

    “Bohot saare log ye bhi kehte hai ki Adi ne toh Ranveer Singh ko bhi launch kia tha, wo toh bohot bada star hai. Ji nahi, actually Ranveer Adi ke through launch hua tha. Ranveer ke baap ne 20 crore Rs diye the, tab YRF ne usko launch kia tha. (A lot of people say Adi also launched Ranveer and he’s a huge star today. But not, his father paid a massive sum of 20 crores and only then did Yash Raj Films launch him)" he said.

    On November 28, Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Naa Ho starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan completed 18 years of its release. The cult rom com is remembered even today for its chartbuster soundtrack, melodrama, performances of its cast particularly SRK's and his chemistry with Saif Ali Khan.

    As the film celebrated its 18th anniversary, a Twitter user posted a behind the scenes throwback video featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan and late Reema Lagoo. In the film, while Jaya Bachchan played Preity Zinta’s character Naina's mother, Reema Lagoo played SRK’s character Aman's mother.
    The video clip that has gone viral is from the time the cast shot for the Baar Baar Haan song parody at a restaurant set. In the clip, SRK can be seen trying his hands at making rotis while Reema Lagoo and Jaya Bachchan help him out.
    Another hilarious aspect of the clip is an American crew member who playfully asks Shah Rukh Khan to focus on his work. He says in Hindi, “Kaam Pe Dhyaan Do”. Soon after, SRK and Jaya Bachchan can be seen giggling at the crew member’s Hindi diction.

    Kal Ho Naa Ho marked the directorial debut of filmmaker Nikkhil Advani who later helmed films like D-Day, Batla House, Chandni Chowk To China among others. Talking about the film, producer and writer Karan Johar had mentioned in his autobiography An Unsuitable Boy, “I just feel terrible I didn’t direct it. I don’t know why I gave it away. It should have been me all along. I deeply regret that the film does not have my name on it as a director.”
    According to Box Office India, Kal Ho Naa Ho was made on a budget of Rs 28 crore and collected over Rs 86 crore at the worldwide box office. The movie was termed a success at the box office.
