If you've kept up with superhero movies and shows throughout your childhood and adolescence, you'd know how mighty male superheroes like Batman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman, and Green Lantern have powers and strengths that are beyond anyone's imagination.
However, while we have seen them beat up supervillains to save the universe quite a few times, the female superheroes of the DC Universe aren't far behind.
    © DC Comics
There have been plenty of times that they have outpaced, overpowered, and outwitted many of their male counterparts, with them even beating heroes like Batman, Superman, and others in a one-on-one battle. Let's have a look at some of DC Universe's most powerful women who can hold their own using their strengths.

    1. Wonder Woman © DC Comics
Wonder Woman or Diana Prince, the Amazonian daughter of Zeus is as good as any superhero gets, be it in terms of superstrength, speed, ability to fly combined with warrior training. And there was this one time in the comics when she literally destroyed Superman after he chose to let rockets aimed at his hometown hit the Amazons which was Wonder Woman's home.

Out of anger, Wonder Woman used all the strength in her body to beat Superman so badly before using Kryptonite to kill Superman once and for all.
    2. Hawkgirl © DC Comics
Hawkgirl is one Justice League member who doesn't hold back and that's exactly what happened when she came up against Batman. It was revealed that despite Batman's incredible intellect, he could never beat Hawkgirl at Chess. In fact, she even once infiltrated Batman's Batcave without any detection. Later on, she even became the best strategist on the Justice League team, something that Batman truly respects to date.

    3. Batgirl © DC Comics
Cassandra Cain's Batgirl was at a time so powerful that she took on Batman and came out on top. In the comics, she battled against Gotham's Dark Knight and using her innate ability to decipher body language, evaded all of Batman's attacks before cracking open his face with her fists.

    4. Supergirl © DC Comics
For anyone who has followed CW's Supergirl TV series, Supergirl actually beat Superman down to a pulp after he was mind-controlled by Daxam's Queen Rhea. She used her entire brute force to punch her way through Superman in order to wake him up from the trance, leaving him helpless to defend himself.

    5. Catwoman © DC Comics
Fans who have followed the Batman comics know that Catwoman and Batman were always a couple waiting to happen. However, following the end of their relationship, Catwoman once got so angry that she almost killed Batman.

After their break-up, Catwoman AKA Selena Kyle saw Bruce move on with another girl which angered her so much that she used her claws on Batman and followed it up with a power kick to the jaw.
Thankfully, just before she was about to slice him open and kill him, she stopped and Batman lived to tell the tale.

Hardik Pandya's fitness concern coupled with his poor performance gave the selectors a major headache ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Speculations were rife whether he will be dropped from the squad if he failed to prove his bowling fitness and if yes, who will take his place.
    © Reuters
Names like Shardul Thakur and Venkatesh Iyer were doing rounds but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put all the rumours to rest by adding the former to the 15-member squad.

But interestingly, Thakur hasn’t replaced Pandya but has come in place of left-arm orthodox Axar Patel, who has been unlucky to miss out despite doing well for Delhi Capitals in the second phase of the IPL.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee after a discussion with the team management has added Shardul Thakur to the main squad. All-rounder Axar Patel, who was part of the 15-member squad will now be on the list of stand-by players,” the BCCI said in its press release.
NEWS : Shardul Thakur replaces Axar Patel in #TeamIndia's World Cup squad. #T20WorldCup

    More Details
    — BCCI (@BCCI) October 13, 2021Thakur has swapped places with Patel who has joined Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar in the standby players’ list.

Although the BCCI didn’t explain the rationale behind swapping places between two players of completely different attributes, it is understood that the decision has been made considering Pandya’s fitness concerns.
Apart from being a brilliant bowler, Thakur can also contribute with the bat towards the fag end of the innings. He is not as capable a batter as Pandya is, but with his two match-defining knocks in the fourth Test against England last month, he showed the whole world what he is capable of doing with the bat when he is on a song.

On the selectors’ part, the decision seems to be a well-thought-out one but fans feel it was a bit hard on Patel who had to make way for Thakur without any fault of his.

Fans were furious with the fact that instead of dropping Pandya or out-of-form players like Rahul Chahar and Ravichandran Ashwin, the selectors punished Patel and deprived him of a chance to play his first major tournament for the country.

    — Manjyot Wadhwa (@Manjyot68915803) October 13, 2021So bizzare. If Axar was to be replaced, made sense to get Chahal in place of him. Shardul ofcourse makes sense, but instead of Hardik. Very weird.
    — Abijit Ganguly (@AbijitG) October 13, 2021What special Rahul Chahar has done in UAE to be a part of WT20 Squad, But the likes of Axar and Chahal who've done tremendously well are still not the part ?

Shardul is Understandable, Since Hardik is not an all rounder anymore.

Why not Chahal in form R Chahar?#T20WorldCup
    — Guru (@okguru123) October 13, 2021Shocking..Axar is in so good form can't understand this swap. Ofc lord shardul is great but rplcng him with axar I can't understand this.

We all have made up some ridiculous excuse to not show up at work or get out early from the office.
From saying our neighbour’s dog is sick to saying there’s no water at home since last night, we have done it all.
However, there are some people who probably use 100% of their brains and come up with beyond bizarre reasons to not work that they literally make headlines.

We are talking about a government engineer from Madhya Pradesh who had the silliest and the most interesting excuse anybody has ever heard.

He claimed that he had recently recollected the events of his past life, in which he learned that he was a Mahabharata character, and wanted Sundays off to read more about his previous birth.
    © Star India
The deputy engineer for MGNREGA projects in Agar Malwa district's Susner in MP sought leaves to follow the Bhagavad Gita path.

He wrote to the panchayat CEO in a Whatsapp message, “I want to study the Gita in order to know more about my past life. I will also go door-to-door to beg alms in order to erase my ego. As it is a matter of my soul, I request to be given Sundays off.”
Though his request was not only turned down but Parag Panthi, the Janpad Panchayat’s CEO, said he will have to show up to the office on Sundays too and work hard to erase his ego. pic.twitter.com/IvRE2Swe4j
    — Anurag Dwary (@Anurag_Dwary) October 10, 2021
He also claimed that his colleagues were also with him in the past as Nakul and Shakuni.
“I dreamt that Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM chief) was my sakha (friend) Nakul and Mohan Bhagwat (RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat) was also there as Shakuni Mama,” he said.

However, his boss was wiser and wittier.

He not only rejected his leave application but gave a fitting and savage response. The CEO of Parag Panthi suggested that if he wanted to let go of his ego, he should work every Sunday rather than spending it as he wishes.
He replied, “Dear deputy engineer, you want to erase your ego, it is a matter of great happiness. To this end, our cooperation can help you achieve your goal. A person is often egotistical and thinks that he can spend his Sundays at will. Destroying this ego from its roots is indispensable for your progress. Therefore, keeping in view your desire for spiritual progress, you are ordered to work every Sunday by being present in the office, so that your ego of celebrating Sunday as a holiday can be destroyed,”.

    We didn’t see that coming!

This was the most fitting response he could have gotten for his silly leave request. His boss turned the tables quite smoothly and swiftly and he totally won.

Just like the last kit, this new jersey has retained the navy blue colour.
While the trousers are mainly plain apart from two orange lines near the pockets on either side, the entire creativity has been done on the t-shirt, which has evoked mixed reactions from the fans.
Look for yourself and decide what you make of the design.
This isn't just a Team, they are the pride of India.

“This is the first time in the history of Indian cricket that fans have been memorialised on a jersey. It carries their chants and cheers from iconic past matches, transformed into unique soundwave patterns,” MPL Sports said in a press release.
In terms of inscriptions, ‘India’ is written in the centre of the t-shirt and above that is the main sponsor’s logo.
The kit sponsor’s logo is on the right side of the chest while the left side has BCCI’s logo with three stars on top, indicating India’s three World Cup trophies.

India won its first-ever ODI World Cup in 1983 under the leadership of legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev.

In 2017, MS Dhoni guided a young Indian team to the inaugural World T20 titles and four years later, ended India’s 28-year-old drought when he lifted the country’s second ODI World Cup title in 2011.
The fans who were used to seeing the Indian cricket team play in sky blue jerseys found it hard to come to grasp with the last two jerseys where the shades were on the darker side.
But there were also people who felt this colour was more vibrant and made players look more stylish.

    — That Bullish Guy #KKR (@i_Prathit) October 13, 2021 The players will have added incentive to win this year’s tournament as this will be Kohli’s last tournament as the captain of India’s T20 side and they would all like to end his tenure on a high by winning the trophy for him.
In terms of competition, India have been pooled alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, Afghanistan, New Zealand and two other qualifiers.
Their opening encounter is against Pakistan on October 24, but before that, Kohli and his men will play two warm-up games against England and Australia.

One of the best things that has been made possible with social media and with global integration is that now, everyone knows everyone.
Suddenly, no one lives under a rock anymore and people are just as aware of what is going around in their country as they are about another.

And the same stands true when it comes to the movie industry aka Bollywood as well.
