Till the time he was captain, Virat Kohli always led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with great passion and commitment.
Under his leadership, the franchise played some incredible cricket and even came close to winning the title in 2016 when they reached the final but came up short against SunRisers Hyderabad in the summit clash.
From a personal point of view, Kohli always led by example and broke several records, establishing himself as the most prolific run-scorer in the tournament.

Despite that, former England captain and cricket expert Michael Vaughan feels that people will not remember him fondly as an RCB captain, solely because of the fact that he didn’t win any silverware and that is what defines the legacy of a successful leader.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Vaughan said that Kohli would be remembered as a skipper who never won anything and more than fans he would himself consider his IPL captaincy tenure as a failure as he couldn’t guide his team to any titles.

“His legacy as captain in IPL cricket would be one that didn’t win. That’s what it’s about – high-level sport is about getting over the line, winning trophies, particularly when you’re at the standard of what Virat Kohli is at. I’m certainly not saying that he is, but he will see himself as a failure in IPL captaincy – because he is such a driven player and person – since he’s not got that trophy in his hands,” Vaughan said in a Cricbuzz video.
The 46-year-old further argued that while Kohli has taken Indian cricket to new heights in the longest format, he hasn’t been able to do the same in the limited-overs cricket -- be it for India or RCB. He has fallen way behind against the likes of MS Dhoni, Eoin Morgan, and Rohit Sharma when it comes to the white-ball captaincy.

“In terms of what Virat is doing with the Test team and Test match cricket, developing the Indian team, he is terrific. You’d have to say and be honest, that in one-day cricket and T20 for the national side and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, he has fallen a long way short,” Vaughan said.

The former England captain also felt that this year's RCB squad was the most balanced unit that they ever put on the field and given the players that were at his disposal this perhaps was their best chance of ending their title drought.
    © Instagram Virat Kohli
“The talent and the squad that he has to work with is right up there with the best. The RCB team over the years is very top-heavy with the batting. This year, with the quality of Maxwell and Harshal Patel and Chahal, they had the bowling to match the batting, and yet they have fallen short,” he further added.

Yes, Vaughan is right in saying that it’s the number of trophies that define the legacy of any leader but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a sport and only one team can win.
Over the years, we have seen many elite leaders finishing their careers without winning a major trophy but that doesn’t mean we can call their stint a failure.

Winning a trophy is important, but it is not everything. The way Kohli led RCB all these years, he can be mighty proud that he was able to create an atmosphere where players performed to their potential and fought till the very end.

As far as winning trophies is concerned, Kohli has taken a step back and everybody knows what happens when a lion takes a couple of strides back.

Growing up watching Bollywood movies we may not have necessarily understood how filmmakers propagated some stereotypes which weren’t healthy for society like glorifying fair skin and promoting unfair practices of racism. Cut to 2021, nothing much has changed as we still see the use of casual racism in Bollywood movies. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has bluntly called out the prevalent racism in the industry in a recent interview with an entertainment portal.
Speaking about his Serious Men co-star Indira Tiwari, Nawazuddin told Bollywood Hungama, “Sudhir saab has immense knowledge about cinema, and his thought process is very practical. He cast her as the heroine, and I can guarantee you that there is so much racism in our industry, I will be very happy if she is cast as the lead again. Sudhir Mishra did it, but what about the head honchos in charge? More than nepotism, we have a racism problem.”
    View this post on Instagram
He continued, “I fought against it for many years, and I hope that dark-skinned actresses are made into heroines; it's very important. I'm not even talking about skin colour; there is a bias that exists in the industry which needs to end for better films to be made… I was rejected for many years only because I'm short and I look a certain way, although I can't complain now. But there are so many other great actors who fall prey to this kind of bias.”
Not just Nawaz, there are many other Bollywood celebs too who have faced racism and shared their accounts.
Manoj Bajpayee  View this post on Instagram
Manoj Bajpayee has tasted commercial success now but he has also faced racism in his career. He played the role of a prince in the 2001-film Zubeidaa.  He once said, “Despite the rave reviews I got for my performance in the film Zubeidaa, a critic said that I don’t look like a prince. That really hurt me.”
Adil Hussain View this post on Instagram
Adil Hussain has also been subjected to such biases because of his dark skin and the cultural difference as he is from Assam. In an interview with HT, he said, “I think such biases can be best addressed by art. Cinema is an art form that can influence mindset. So, we must become the moral compass of the society and help evolve for the better over these biases against fair, dark, LGBTQ, dwarfs, etc. We sometimes crack jokes on such issues because we’ve normalized them. We need to create enough awareness and representation on the screen.”
Dhanush View this post on Instagram
Bollywood has always had bizarre stereotypes about people from the southern part of India and Dhanush too faced it when he played the role of a Banarasi roadside romeo in Raanjhanaa. In an interview, he had said, “I was told the hero has to be fair and good looking as that is what the audiences want today, particularly in North India.”
Rajkummar Rao  View this post on Instagram
Rajkummar had shared that he was rejected because he wasn’t good looking and muscular enough to become a lead hero.  He told DNA, “When I was looking for work in Mumbai around seven years back, I used to look different from what I look today. I did an audition for a director who was making his debut film (I won’t name who he is). He really liked my test but told me, ‘Acting is fine, but I can’t give you a lead part because leading heroes are supposed to be fair and muscular. But do you want to play a small character in my film?’ I didn’t do his film because I couldn’t agree with his theory of filmmaking.”
Ranveer Singh  View this post on Instagram
Ranveer Singh also faced flak for his looks in the initial days of his career. In a report in DNA, Ranveer Singh was quoted saying “Initially, I faced rejection based on how I looked and not so much because of my ability. I was told that I wasn’t very good-looking or conventional. Maybe I wasn’t fair or tall enough.”
Not just male actors, female actors like Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor, Nandita Das, Priyanka Chopra and Frieda Pinto have also shared their accounts of how they faced racism in the industry. It's about time such tropes are let go of for good and mainstream Hindi cinema to become more inclusive.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is scheduled to start on October 17, 2021, which is less than a week away. This means that while most of the participating teams have already revealed their official jerseys, teams like India and Pakistan will be doing so soon.
However, this also means that eagle-eyed paparazzi and fans were on the lookout for any means to leak the pictures of the official jerseys before they are launched by the respective cricket boards.
    PAKISTAN JERSEY FOR WT20 !!?

    — M S C (@_friendlycheema) October 6, 2021
For the Pakistani squad, the jersey allegedly leaked a couple of days ago when skipper Babar Azam was pictured wearing the kit, standing in broad daylight. The pictures were starting to spark loads of debates around the mundane and boring design.
However, soon enough, the discussion changed to something a lot more important. The logo patch printed on the top right corner of the jersey shows the United Arab Emirates as the hosts of the tournament and not India.
Australia ,Scotland ,and PAKISTAN JERSEY for T20WC , the most interesting thing is that PAKISTAN Writes ‘UAE 2021’ Instead of ‘india 2021’ on T20 world cup JERSEY HAHAHAH i like PAKISTAN ZINDABAD

    — Mariam PAKISTANI (@Mariam_Jamali) October 7, 2021
While all the other countries that have released their jerseys, recognise India as the hosts and have printed so on their kits, the Pakistani jersey remains the only one so far that refuses to follow this tradition.
The tournament was originally supposed to take place in India but due to the prevalent COVID-19 risks in the country, the venue was switched to the United Arab Emirates. Having said that, it is the Indian cricket board that is hosting the mega event, and therefore, all teams must add India’s name on their jerseys.
Cricket fans were not happy to see this anomaly and expressed their rage on Twitter:
It's a rule to put the name of WC hosting country on the jersey.
Every team put India's name as India is the official host for T20 WC 2021 except Pakistan, they put UAE instead.

    — O P Gurjar (@OPGurja34362639) October 8, 2021@ICC Hefty fines should be imposed on Pakistan so that no country does such a thing again, the host of the World Cup is India, while Pakistan did not write the name of India on its jersey.

    — ABHISHEK RAI (@ABHISHE62116374) October 8, 2021The Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to reveal their jersey officially and based on the social media backlash this kit has received so far, it will be interesting to see whether they will go ahead with the same logo or if they will change it last minute.
Virat Kohli and the Men in Blue are also set to reveal their kits on October 13, 2021 (Wednesday) as their first match of the tournament will take place against Pakistan on October 24, in the Super 12 round.

Bollywood stars, whilst being the center of attention in the public domain, also have the required finances to hire the best services that money can buy. And this includes lawyers too, in case they get caught up in a scandal.
    © BCCL
Well, as things turned out in the Aryan Khan case, it was revealed that Amit Desai, the high profile senior advocate who had represented Salman Khan in the hit-and-run case, was also the one representing Aryan for his bail hearing.

While Aryan Khan, being Shah Rukh's eldest son, has the power to hire the best in the business, he's definitely not the only one. Here are some other high profile lawyers who have represented Bollywood celebrities in the past.
    1. Satish Maneshinde For Sanjay Dutt © Twitter
Sanjay Dutt was caught in many controversies and him being one of the biggest stars in Bollywood meant, he could very well have the lawyer he had his eyes on.

He hired the services of Satish Maneshinde, who has also represented Salman Khan, Rhea Chakraborty, and now Aryan Khan as well.
As per reports, the top lawyer of course doesn't come cheap as he charges around Rs 10 lakh per hearing.
    2. Dipesh Mehta For Hrithik Roshan © Twitter
Legal advisor Dipesh Mehta is almost like a family member for the Roshans and this is one of the reasons he didn't hesitate before representing Hrithik Roshan in the case against Kangana Ranaut.

There aren't any details available on how much he actually earns but considering he's handled cases of Salman as well, we're guessing he sure as hell charges a lot.
    3. Shrikant Shivade For Shiney Ahuja © Twitter
Shiney Ahuja was accused of raping his maid service back in 2009, and it was legal counsel Shrikant Shivade who represented him in the case.

Shivade, who prefers not to be called a celebrity lawyer, too earns a large sum on the basis of the hearings.
    4. Prashant Patil For Sooraj Pancholi © Twitter
In June 2013, Bollywood actress Jiah Khan was found hanging at her Mumbai home, after which her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi, Aditya Pancholi's son, was arrested by the police for abetting her suicide.

Following that, it was advocate Prashant Patil who chose to represent the upcoming actor as he felt it was a good challenge for him and that he knew that 'Sooraj was innocent' in the case.
    5. Hitesh Jain For Preity Zinta © YouTube
Preity Zinta filed a police complaint against her ex-boyfriend and businessman Ness Wadia for allegedly molesting, abusing, and threatening her inside the Wankhede stadium.

Following this, renowned lawyer, Hitesh Jain took up Preity's case as he felt that he was fighting for women's rights and for Preity's personal dignity.

Sunil Gavaskar has come to be known for his cutthroat criticism of almost everything that any of the Indian cricketers do. However, on the day Virat Kohli lost his final match as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, he shed the ‘tough guy’ avatar and showed his sympathetic side for the first time in a while.
When it comes to Gavaskar’s harsh comments, nobody is ever safe. From blaming Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav for getting lazy after getting the Indian team call, to lashing out at former England skipper Nasser Hussain on live television, the former Indian captain has made a name for himself for being a bit of a loose cannon.
Sunil Gavaskar ripping into Nasser Hussain for mentioning in his Op-ed that India were bullied in England previously.

    Thoughts??

So once Kohli’s RCB were knocked out from the IPL 2021 playoffs after the loss against Kolkata Knight Riders, people were expecting another outburst of anger and sarcastic comments from ‘Sunny G’ but this time around, things were radically different.
Instead of blaming Kohli for “being an incompetent skipper” or calling out “RCB’s bad strategy,” the commentator and analyst chose the route of humbleness. He compared Kohli to some of the other greats this game has ever seen, who excelled as players but were unable to finish their last rides on a high.
    View this post on Instagram
“Everybody wants to finish on a high. But these things never always happen according to your or fans’ wishes. Look at what happened to Sir Don Bradman. Just four runs were needed in his last innings and he gets out for a zero,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.
“Sachin Tendulkar would have wanted to finish with a hundred, he got 79 (Tendulkar scored 74) in Mumbai, his 200th Test match. 79 is not bad but somebody who is used to making hundreds would have wanted to get those extra 21 runs and then end his Test career there,” Gavaskar added.
    View this post on Instagram
Kohli’s contributions towards building RCB as one of the most popular brands in the league, despite the lack of IPL championships, were also credited by Gavaskar.
“He has given RCB that kind of profile, that brand recognition that very (few) cricketers have given to their franchise,” he said. “The script is not always written that way. Not everybody has this great fortune of going on a high. But can one ever dispute what he has done for RCB? He has done magnificently. There was one year when he got 973 runs, 27 runs short of 1000 runs. Nobody has done it, nobody looks like ever getting to 1000 runs.”
After the loss, Kohli was seen getting extremely emotional while trying to hide his tears behind the cap. His teammate and one of the closest friends he has in international cricket, AB de Villiers was also tearing up in the team huddle.

The whole world was busy talking about Virat Kohli’s tenure as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain coming to a sad end as they bowed out of the tournament, losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator, so much so that everyone forgot there was another top leader and player whose journey also didn’t get the farewell he deserved.
We are talking about Australian cricketer David Warner, whose wonderful association with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) came to a disappointing end.
    View this post on Instagram
For the first time, since joining the franchise, the Aussie failed to deliver with the bat and given his past record, most experts expected him to get a longer rope than the most but he didn’t.
The SRH had lost five out of the first six matches in the first leg of IPL 2021 and were languishing at the bottom of the points table.
The franchise decided to strip him of his captaincy duties and handed it over to New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, hoping a change in leadership would also change their fortune and bring their campaign back on track. To their disappointment, it didn’t happen.
    Announcement pic.twitter.com/B9tBDWwzHe
    — SunRisers Hyderabad (@SunRisers) May 1, 2021
The 34-year-old was dropped on the bench in their first leg and he was restricted to carrying drinks for his teammates.
To his credit, he did even that with utmost sincerity. Then, the tournament came to a halt after a COVID-19  outbreak inside the biosecure bubble and it was shifted to the United Arab Emirates.
Warner found his place back in the side but two failures meant he was left out of the Playing XI once again. His relationship with the management became so sour that they didn’t even include him in their match-day squad and left him in the team hotel.

Despite being one of their most consistent performers for more than half a decade, the treatment that Warner got infuriated fans and they slammed the franchise on social media.

Despite being treated badly by the franchise, Warner continued to support the franchise till the last day of their campaign and we saw him waving the SRH flag and cheering for his teammates from the stands.
Recently during an interview, Warner, for the first time, opened up about the most difficult IPL season of his life thus far and explained how he felt about being treated like that despite being their best performer ever.
    © Twitter IPL
Acknowledging that he had a terrible start to the season as he struggled on Chennai’s spin-friendly tracks, Warner said he had hoped that the franchise would consider his past record and back him for a little bit longer than they actually did.

Moreover, he had no idea who was making the call and who were the ones who wanted him out or if it was a unanimous decision.
    Here’s the full interaction:

“I am not 100 per cent sure how to answer that. With the utmost respect for the owners, Trevor Baylis, Laxman, Moody and Murali, when a decision gets made, it has to be a unanimous one. You don't know who the person is going for you and who isn't,” Warner said in an interview with Sports Today.
“The other disappointing thing for me was not being explained why I was dropped as captain. If you want to go along the lines of form, it is a difficult one because, I guess whatever you have done in the past would have some weight moving forward, you would think.
    © Twitter SunRisers Hyderabad
“Especially when you have played about 100 games for the franchise, I think I had four bad games in those first five matches in Chennai. It is difficult, a tough pill to swallow. There are still questions to which I think I'll never get answers, but you have to move on,” he added.

The only trophy that SRH won was under Warner’s leadership and despite giving his all for the franchise all these years he was thrown out of the team after just one bad season.
The reason teams like Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have been so successful is because they back their players and give them the confidence to play with freedom without being worried about their spot in the team.
    CSK
Look at CSK, they finished second from the bottom from last season and instead of making wholesome changes in their setup they backed the same group of players and now they are in the IPL final.

    © Twitter IPL
Be it SRH or any other franchise, they should not treat their players like ATM machines, who are praised so long as they are delivering the goods and discarded the moment they stop doing that.

With such a culture, they might be successful in a season or two but always lag behind others in the long run.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is currently in jail due to his connection in an ongoing drugs case and is waiting for his bail plea to be heard.

SRK had once revealed why he named his eldest son ‘Aryan’ and he talked about the same in an interview.
    View this post on Instagram
SRK and Gauri Khan married in 1991 and in November 1997, their first child was born whom they named Aryan.

Later, when SRK was asked why he named his eldest son Aryan, he said, “We just named him Aryan. I don’t know. I just liked the sound of the name. I thought when he tells a girl ki my name is Aryan. Aryan Khan, she’ll be really impressed.”
Shah Rukh Khan also talked about Aryan Khan’s features when he was born and how he looked like a mixture of him and Gauri.
He said, “His looks have come from both of us. Actually, Gauri and I have similar features — both of us have big eyes and thick lips. I don’t know… He’s got expressions like mine, I think… But he’s a mixture. And no, I haven’t changed any diapers!”
    View this post on Instagram
Well, talk about a refreshingly honest reason behind a name! One thing is for sure, Aryan Khan is pretty popular among the opposite *** for his looks which he has inherited from his father.
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan's bail plea hearing is set for today, however, the NCB is likely to oppose the application over claims of 'new proof'.
