The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have staged a great comeback in the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
The franchise, which was struggling in the bottom half of the points table in the first leg, surprised everyone as they booked a spot in the playoffs, winning five of their seven league matches in the UAE.
Carrying the same momentum in the Eliminator, the Kolkata-based outfit outclassed Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and are only a step away from setting up a summit clash against Chennai Super Kings.
    The equation is simple. 𝗪𝗜𝗡 & 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀! #KKR #DCvKKR #AmiKKR #KorboLorboJeetbo #আমিKKR #IPL2021 pic.twitter.com/pUiS2cong9

While everything seems to be working this year, the same wasn’t the case roughly 12 months back.
Last year, the franchise changed their captain in the middle of their campaign, taking over the reins from Dinesh Karthik and handing it over to England’s limited-overs captain.

Despite that, the team failed to finish in the top 4.

Thankfully, the decision didn’t ruffle many eyebrows as Morgan was their in-form man and brought their campaign back on track to some extent and they finished fifth on the points table.
    Matches - 10
    Runs - 107
    Avg - 13.37
    SR - 102.88
    Fifties - 0

Eoin Morgan is struggling with the bat in IPL 2021.

However, this year Morgan has failed miserably with the bat but despite that, the franchise has persisted with him.
The English international has scored only 129 in 15 matches this season at a dismal average of 12.90. If you take out his once knock of 47 not out from this tally, the situation looks even grimmer.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag feels this clearly highlights the 'double standards' of the franchise while treating an Indian and an overseas player.
Karthik was in a similar situation last year, runs were not flowing off his bat and he was removed from captaincy duties. While they removed Karthik from his role after a series of poor outings, they are still continuing with Morgan, despite him failing again and again.

“KKR’s captain (Eoin Morgan) has not scored even 20-25 runs consistently. He has not contributed much. Last year, KKR changed their skipper midway, but I am not sure if they will retain him before the mega auction,” Sehwag said on a Cricbuzz show.

While experts like Michael Vaughan believe that Morgan has been brilliant as a leader for KKR this year and his astute leadership is one of the reasons why they are where they are.
But Sehwag has a completely opposite opinion.
The former explosive opener, who is known for speaking his mind, feels that the only notable contribution Morgan has made this year is coming out for the toss, attending post-match presentations, and giving post-match interviews, nothing else.
    © Twitter/KKR
Not just this year, Sehwag believes his entire IPL career has been like that. He had changed franchises but never left his mark on any of them.

“It will be interesting to see if he ever plays for Kolkata again because he has played for so many teams but he hasn’t done anything except talking. But when you are the captain, you need to score runs as well. We have not seen anything special from him so far,” he added.
Such is the nature of the sport that when the team is winning, even the poor performances go under the radar and when things are not going as planned, even the smallest of mistakes attract criticism from all quarters.
Morgan is lucky that his poor form has not coincided with KKR’s barren run, otherwise, just like Karthik even he would have been sacked.

For all the times that you have found yourself staring across the room into the eyes of a woman and felt your heartbeat skip at the sight of her, only to say, “Bhai, dekh teri bhabhi” to your best friend at the end of a party.
This article is for all you guys who wear their hearts on their sleeve and usually, end up getting them broken.

These are the people who fall in love faster than one can make Maggi. But in their defence, we can't really blame them for being romantics in a cynical world.
After all, who would want to miss out on the exciting and thrilling feeling of love that is said to sweep you off your feet and make the world look more colourful? Right?
Which is why, when they see even the slightest chance of things working out with someone, they jump at the chance.

The only drawback to this being that while we are too busy doling out our heart to every girl we start crushing over, we forget the possibility that she might not feel the same way after all. And just like that, we are hurt again.

It is precisely to avoid the hurt and pain of falling for someone too fast that we must keep in mind a few things that might help us to hold our horses:
    1) Take It Slow (Deliberately) © Yash Raj Films
Since you’re aware that you tend to rush into things as much as feelings, it would be a good idea for you to consciously start making efforts on taking things slow.

To be able to decrease the intensity of your feelings for the other person, you must decrease the frequency of contact between you and her.
It not only helps in holding your ground but also allows you less opportunity to jump the gun.
    2) Maintain A Balance
    via GIPHY
This would mean for you to not spend every minute of your every hour of every day either talking to or thinking about your crush.
Everything is good, as long as it is done in moderation, and so, when you feel you’ve started to develop feelings for someone, balance it out by continuing to meet other people, hanging out with your friends just like you normally would.
Don’t let your life and thoughts revolve around them.
    3) Don’t Lose Sight Of Other Important Things © Excel Entertainment
One more reason why some people may fall for others harder than anyone else is that they often tend to lose sight of other things in their life and end up making their crush - their entire world.

It is important for you to remind yourself that while love may be an important aspect of your life, it is only one of the many others.
Don’t lose focus on your job and your career and spend enough time paying attention to what truly matters.
    4) Humanise Your Crush
    via GIPHY
When we’re in love, it is very easy to get blinded to some of their obvious flaws. Try to make an effort to humanise them and not glorify them.
The moment you start seeing them for who they are - human and for their bad as much as their good, you will be able to cut back on your feelings for them.
    5) Don’t Forget Your Worth © Panorama Studios
Whether you fall in love with someone for the first or the fiftieth time, don’t ever forget what you’re worth.

One reason we may fall for everyone is that we don’t hold ourselves to the highest standard and start to think that just about anyone who walks through the door is good enough for us.
You’re worth more than that, and you mustn’t forget that.

Karan Johar and Netflix have collaborated for a love story, the teaser for which dropped yesterday. Set in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai, the romantic-comedy starring Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani focuses on trials and tribulations of a young couple – Meenakshi and Sundareshwar.
According to the official synopsis, 'the film encapsulates the various interlinked aspects of relationships, joint families, the awkwardness in a new marriage and everything in between.'
    Here’s the teaser:

Meenakshi Sundareshwar is directed by Vivek Soni and co-written by him and Aarsh Vora. The film will arrive on Netflix on November 5. The teaser shows that the movie explores Tamil culture but on social media, people are saying that it has stereotyped Tamilians in the most cliched manner. In the teaser, you can see the causal representation of the Tamil songs that has resulted in people getting pissed.
One of the Twitter users wrote, “Stereotyping at its best (worst)! Another bollywood film to stereotype south indians as vegetarian, folk song listening, Rajinikanth loving, pretentious English speaking people. Grow up guys.”
Another wrote, “It ain't south Indian, it's totally wrong, it's bullshit. I don't know why Bollywood is doing this without any knowledge of South India and still portraying wrong about South. If you don't know pls don't. This is not a joke.”

The Indian cricket team will be playing their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against Pakistan on October 24, 2021, in the Super 12 round at the Dubai International Stadium which means that the Men in Blue need to be locked on to their Playing XI as soon as possible.
However, according to the latest reports shared by the Press Trust of India, the Indian cricket board is likely to have all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the squad only as a batter, completely taking away one half of his talents that made him a fan-favourite.
    View this post on Instagram
This move would also mean that Virat Kohli’s squad will be limiting themselves to one less bowler on the field if they decide to go ahead with Pandya solely as a batter. It is a given that the 28-year old will be allowed to bowl only if the medical staff feel his back is healthy enough to endure the strain. But based on his recovery record during the Indian Premier League 2021, that scenario doesn’t look too promising.
Under such circumstances, the need for at least another medium-fast bowling all-rounder arose in the Indian dressing room, as a backup. Chennai Super Kings’ Shardul Thakur was being looked at as a popular candidate for this role, especially after the kind of form he has had over the course of his squad’s journey to the IPL 2021 final.
    View this post on Instagram
Even at an international level, Thakur has shown his mettle as a versatile all-rounder across all formats of the game, and his performance against England in the unfinished Test series got him in the good books of the selectors as well.
Having said that, the same PTI report, as mentioned above, has suggested that Thakur will not be the replacement the Indian selectors have decided to go ahead with. Instead, they have chosen Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer to be the ideal cover for Pandya just in case things don’t happen the way they had decided.
    View this post on Instagram
In the eight matches that Iyer played for KKR so far this season, he has managed to score 265 runs with a strike rate of 123.25 with a highest score of 67. In the bowling department, the 26-year old has delivered 45 balls while taking three wickets in the process.
Delhi Capitals speedster Avesh Khan is also being asked to stay back in the bio-bubble once the IPL is over. The second-leading wicket-taker in the tournament so far, Khan is expected to join the Indian squad as a net bowler.
    View this post on Instagram
"The national selectors have decided to also include Avesh in the mix. As of now, he will be a net bowler but if the team management feels, he can be upgraded," a BCCI source close to the selection committee told PTI on Tuesday.
