'What to eat before workout' must be a question that every fitness enthusiast would have thought about, at some point during their fitness journey. While for beginners, feeling weak and tired at the gym may be normal to some extent, if this continues, there may be important factors at play, out of which nutrition makes up a major part.Β
    Β© iStock
Should I Eat Something Before Workout?Β Is it a must? No. If you're feeling satiated and not drained out, and are feeling energetic, you can workout without eating anything. Not eating anything before workout will not impact your muscle growthΒ as long as you're sticking to your overall macros.
How Long Before Workout Should I Eat?If you are eating before a workout, you can eat anytime between 45 minutes to 3 hours before starting workout. It depends on what you are eating. It ideally should be a mix between protein and carbohydrates. If you just need something as a quick pick-me-up, coffee is perfect.
What To Eat Before Workout1. Banana Β© iStock
This is the most obvious one. If you're feeling weak, and need something to immediately charge you up, a banana is a good option. You can have it 30 minutes before the workout. A banana with some protein would make a good pre workout meal. Some people even have it during the workout if they get hungry, but we'll suggest avoiding itΒ as it can make you throw up during heavy lifts immediately after.

    2. Protein Shake Β© iStock
It's popular to have your protein shake immediately after your workout, but there is no scientific basis behind it. You can have it anytime during the day. For people who are following a substantial calorie deficit, this can be a good idea because bananas and other calorie-rich carbs may be off limits for them. Plus, this studyΒ shows that having protein before exercise results in a greater anabolic response than supplementation after resistance exercise.Β

    3. Coffee Β© iStock
According to this studyΒ by the International Society of Sports Nutrition, Caffeine has consistently been shown to improve exercise performance when consumed in doses of 3-6 mg/kg body mass. The most commonly used timing of caffeine supplementation is 60 min pre-exercise. Some people prefer black coffee without any sugar, which is great if your macros don't allow you anything else, but you can also add protein/sweeteners/a little milk to enjoy it better.

    4. Oats Β© iStock
Oats are a good source of carbs, and this coupled with a bit of protein makes for a great pre workout meal. A good and easy option would be to make a smoothie out of oats with whey protein. You can also soak it overnight with some fruits and nuts, and have it 1.5-2 hours before the workout.

    5. Any combination of food with 20-30 gm protein and 30-50 gm carbohydrates Β© iStock
Irrespective of particular food items, you can go for the above combination of protein and carbs for an effective pre-workout meal. Just don't consume anything that's slow digesting, to reap maximum benefits.

What To Not Eat Before Workout1. Food Items Rich In FiberFiber-rich food items may make you full really fast, and will also make you feel bloated, thereby impacting your workout. Avoid eating them before workout if possible. However, fiber is important for digestion, so do not exclude them from your daily diet.
    Β© iStock
    2. Food Items Rich In FatFats have no immediate real benefit when it comes to improving exercise performance, neither do they help in protein synthesis. So avoiding it and having protein plus carbs instead, will yield better results. However, having some fat in your daily diet is essential, so make it a part of your macros.

Other than that, just follow your body's natural instincts when it comes to which food items you can digest fast and which contribute to bloating. This along with the information above should sort you out for an effective pre workout meal.

We cannot over-stress the fact that growing up, the 90s cartoons on Cartoon Network really hit different. The combination of simplistic animation, gripping stories, as well as mature content not really restricted to a certain child's age, led to the shows truly being ahead of their time.
Well, one such iconic show that made a huge difference in our childhoods was Batman: The Animated Series.
    Β© Warner Bros. Animation
The Warner Bros Animation-produced show originally aired on Fox Kids and on Cartoon Network in India, becoming an instant hit with fans and amassing a cult fan following amongst kids and adults even now, regardless of what generation they belong to. Well, since its launch in 1992, Batman: The Animated Series, on Sunday (September 5), completed 29 years of its release.

    29 YEARS AGO TODAY!

The legendary 'Batman: The Animated Series' premiered on Fox Kids September 5, 1992! pic.twitter.com/i0yLxy5ZTU
    β€” BROTHER (@BrotherHQ) September 5, 2021
Here are the reasons why it is considered not just one of the best Batman versions but also one of the best-animated shows to ever be made.
    1. Iconic Characters And Story Telling Β© Warner Bros. Animation
The show, which ran for around 85 episodes, became such a big hit with people because of its ability to do justice to the tales of DC's most iconic characters. In the Batman movies, the focus has usually been put on a certain number of renowned villains whose names people know at the drop of a hat, say, Joker, Bane, Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face, and Mister Freeze, etc. And even then, their origin stories haven't really been explored as much as a true fan would have liked.

Batman: The Animated Series did things differently. It not only explored characters from the comics but also made them feel important in the eyes of the masked vigilante. Almost an entire episode or two have been dedicated to villains like The Toymaker, Clayface, Clock King, The Phantasm, Killer Croc, and many others. This ensured that, unlike the movies, the Gotham in the Batman: The Animated Series is flooded with criminals that give Batman different challenges to deal with, thereby making him a much more well-rounded superhero.
    2. Unraveling Batman's True Detective Skills Β© Warner Bros. Animation
The Dark Knight, as renowned as he is for punishing Gotham's criminals with his fists and his Batarangs, is first and foremost a detective. With the help of Alfred, the highly maneuverable Batmobile, and the Batcomputer, the supercomputer housed inside the gigantic Batcave, he investigates crime scenes and identifies criminals to trace them down and bring them to justice.

While this element has been explored in the films, it hasn't really been shown in detail. This is where the Batman animated series excelled. Apart from really showing a Sherlock Holmes side to Batman, the show also brought a much-needed balance to Batman and his alter-ego Bruce Wayne, the billionaire owner of Wayne Enterprises.Β Β
    3. Star Cast Β© Warner Bros. Animation
With the show being an animated one, the importance of getting the right voice actors for the roles of Batman and other characters could not be overstated. The successful appointment of American film, TV, and voice actor Kevin Conroy, was one of the main reasons why the show really struck a chord with the fans. Kevin, with his naturally intense and impactful voice, really brought Batman to life and made him the iconic hero that kids and adults really went on to love.

It was such a huge success that Kevin actually went on to voice the Dark Knight in multiple films under the DC Universe Animated Original Movies banner along with the Batman: Arkham Knight as well as the Injustice video game series.
Another voice actor of the show that reached similar heights was Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who became the iconic voice behind the show's Joker.
Just like Kevin, Mark too was so good in bringing the hysteria of Joker in the animated series, that he also went on to voice the same character in multiple films and video games.Β Β
    4. Saviour Of The Batman Cinematic Franchise Β© Warner Bros.
When it came to Batman on the big screen, Warner Bros produced two Batman films, Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). Both were directed by Tim Burton and starred Michael Keaton as Gotham's protector. The films went on to do very well at the box office as well as in terms of garnering the appreciation of critics and fans, leaving people thinking of a bright future for the cinematic Batman.

However, future films directed by Joel Schumacher, Batman Forever (1995) starring Val Kilmer, and Batman & Robin (1997) starring George Clooney, were so poorly received by fans and critics, that Warner Bros apparently considered shutting down the Batman cinematic franchise for good. Well, this was where Batman: The Animated Series came in and saved the day. The show which ran from 1992 to 1995, the same period between the Tim Burton Batman era and the Schumacher Batman era, was doing so well that Warner Bros was reported to reconsider its decision on saying goodbye to the cinematic Batman.
As a result, after the failure of the two Batman films, Warner Bros kickstarted the Bat project under the helm of director Christopher Nolan, which then went on to be converted into The Dark Knight TrilogyΒ starring Christian Bale. And we know exactly how those ended up doing!
Extra fact! For those people who do not know, Batman: The Animated Series was actually inspired by Tim Burton's live-action films. So, in a way, it really completed a full cycle.
    5. Incorporation Of The Entire Bat-Family Β© Warner Bros. Animation
People who've been reading the comics and graphic novels, and watching the TV shows of Gotham's caped crusader know that Batman is not the only superhero to beat up big bad villains. While as much as Batman would like to say that he likes working alone, Bruce Wayne despite starting alone as Gotham's Dark Night goes on to gain a few sidekicks.

In the comics, Batman has different Robins with Dick Grayson being the first, then Jason Todd, and then Tim Drake amongst the most popular ones. Then there is Nightwing (Dick Grayson), Batgirl, and Redhood (Jason Todd), and Damien Wayne (Bruce Wayne's own son). Now, while obviously, it wasn't possible for the cinematic universe to include so many characters, Batman: The Animated Series tried incorporating most of the family, and well, ended up succeeding at it.
Moreover, the transition of some characters, especially that of Dick Grayson's Robin later becoming Nightwing due to personal differences with Batman, was one to watch in the series. It not only gave viewers a peek into the different shades of Batman/Bruce Wayne and his imperfect relationships with his comrades but also went on to show how the show was much more than just a kids' cartoon show.Β

Money Heist has been the talk of the town ever since the makers have dropped the fifth season on Netflix. Fans are going gaga over the show’s twists and the drama that the show has to deliver. As always, ahead of his time, Lord Bobby predicted the ending of Money Heist in Bichhoo.
If you follow the page Bobbywood on Twitter, you are in for a roller-coaster ride because the man behind the page has convinced almost everyone that Bobby DeolΒ has done it all and he knows everything. He is obviously not Jon Snow as people had earlier perceived him to be. The latest tweet by Bobbywood suggests that Lord Bobby had already predicted the climax scene of Money Heist. The next paragraph is filled with spoilers so read it at your own risk.
    SPOILER ALERT

    β€” Bobbywood (@Bobbywood_) September 6, 2021
On his YouTube channel, he has shared the video wherein you get scene by scene breakdown and you will understand that Money Heist makers have entirely lifted the climax scene from Bichhoo. The scene wherein Gandia kills Tokyo is very similar to how Bobby was murdered in Bichhoo.Β

Isn't this shocking? We are shocked to see these similarities and are finding it hard to believe that Money Heist's climax could indeed have been inspired from Bichhoo.
In an interview, Bobby had talked about Bichhoo and said, β€œAnd Bichhoo actually, I was telling Guddu bhaiyya, he is my uncle but I always call him bhaiyya. I mean he has also had an amazing career from being a production manager to becoming a director to a producer. When Bichhoo was being made, I asked him why you were killing my character. Because in those days, people would get upset if the hero dies in the end. At that point, he believed that we should keep it like that. I think it did well but if my character had not died in the end, it would have done better. Even the music, Guddu bhaiyya had a great sense of music.”
Have you all seen Bichhoo? Let us know in the comments section below.

ShershaahΒ writer Sandeep Srivastava recently revealed that Kargil Hero Captain Vikram Batra’s jovial side was his heartwarming romance with his wife Dimple Cheema.Β Β
β€œIt took us time to accept that his love story did unfold like this. There is someone who’s left behind, Dimple, who’s still single. So we can’t sacrifice it. There’s his exemplary participation in the war. So our narrative had to balance both the things in such a way that the whole movie remains engaging,” Srivastava said in an interview with Indian Express.Β
The romance between Captain Batra and Dimple Cheema in Shershaah looks organic and there is a solid reason for that. The writer said, β€œI met Dimple 2-3 times. We realised there are certain milestones in their love story. So, the journey from one milestone to the other is where we’ve used a bit of imagination and cinematic liberty.”
View this post on InstagramSrivastava also said he thought that the scene at the bus stop where Vikram cuts his thumb and puts β€˜Sindoor’ on Dimple was cooked up. But when he talked to Dimple she only confirmed it, and he decided to write it in a way that would flow with the narrative.Β Β
He said, β€œThe act itself is over-the-top as if from the 70s or 80s, but Dimple’s reaction of β€œkinna filmy banda mila hai mainu (My man is so filmy)” balances it. Dimple is such a beautiful aspect to this story.”
    View this post on Instagram
Earlier, Sandeep Srivastava said in an interview with News18, β€œWhen I was doing my research, and I interacted with Dimple, she said that Captain Batra and she knew each other for four years but the time they spent together was just about 40 days. I think that we have captured the essence of those 40 days, which means a lot to the wonderful lady whom I have a lot of respect. It is the essence of her feelings that is coming through the way Kiara has played the character, and that’s what’s really sticking to people.”
View this post on InstagramHe also said, "So I do not think there was a need to add anything. It’s just the right amount. She is a very integral part of Captain Vikram Batra’s life, you cannot tell his story without his relationship with Dimple, and without what he did in the war. I think what we have done is struck the right balance. There are also so many views, which are just the contrary and they are saying that it is a perfect blend of his personal life and his life as a soldier.”
Shershaah has been highly appreciated, and people are raving about it. Sidharth and Kiara are on cloud nine since Shershaah has become the most-watched film in India on Amazon Prime Video.
It was released on August 12, and since then, it has been on everyone's watchlist. It also has an 8.9 IMDb rating.

Nepotism in Bollywood has been the burning topic in the entertainment industry for the past few years now.Β
It is not something that was unknown or unacknowledged in Bollywood but it became a controversial point of discussion after Kangana Ranaut highlighted it by accusing Karan JoharΒ of being the flagbearer of nepotism in Bollywood, on his own chat show (remember that?)
    Β© Hotstar
Kangana’s spat with KJo and the entire Hindi film industry hasn’t ended since then and she has accused the biggies of Bollywood multiple times of being biased, unfair, β€˜a gutter’ at one point in time and a lot more.Β

Recently, she called Bollywood a β€˜toxic’ place where there is no love or empathy for others.Β Β Β
    Β© Instagram/Kangana Ranaut
Kangana is making her debut in the South film industry with Thalaivii, which is based on the life of former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa.Β

In a promotional interview about her first Tamil film, she compared regional cinema with the Hindi film industry, saying that the latter is a toxic place to be in.
    Β© Instagram/Kangana Ranaut
She said it’s because the people in the South industry have a common ground while the diversity in Bollywood makes it toxic. β€œWhat is very striking about regional cinema is that at least they find some common ground. They're chameleons, and that's something that they resonate with,” she said.Β

β€œWhereas in Hindi films, because we've all migrated to Mumbai, there is so much diversity there, yet there is a bit of tension always… Everybody wants to pull everybody down, that's not helping at all,” she said.β€œIt's become such a toxic place that somehow, nobody is happy for another person, and we are not able to find a common ground we are able to identify with,” she added.
    Β© Instagram/Kangana Ranaut
She further added how regional cinema is flourishing because people involved are nice to each other and not constantly trying to put others down, while people in Bollywood have no love or even empathy for their counterparts.Β

β€œA place where there is no love, no empathy, no sense of camaraderie, no sense of compassion, you can only imagine how toxic that place is going to be. Whereas regional cinema is going higher and higher, and we are also seeking some kind of place (in an industry) where people are so wonderful to each other. I hope it remains like that and too many people coming in here don't ruin it."
    Β© Instagram/Kangana Ranaut
She said that it’s a difficult place to be in, especially for outsiders like her. She called Bollywood β€˜The Great Wall Of China of film industry’ which she managed to breach when she started out because she had a β€˜do-or-die’ attitude.Β

Well, you can disagree with everything she says, but this kind of makes sense.Β

Money Heist is hands down one of the best series that Netflix has given us. The show has often left us in acute anticipation with each season passing by as there's a mysterious twist that shocked the fans.Β

The Spanish heist drama is a thrilling series in which eight robbers carry out an intelligent crime. The mission is to rob the Royal Mint in Madrid, and they plan to keep hostages as a part of their plan, offering bail for a huge amount. The robbers are seen in their red jumpsuits and a Salvador Dali Mask. As the heist continues, we meet the planner behind all this, the Professor, essayed by Alvaro Morte.

The show was recently renewed for another season which is also the final one.Β

The crime-thriller began in 2017, but the last season left the fans heartbroken yet again as the remaining episodes will be released on December 3.Β
Desi fans, however, seemed to have managed to find the Professor's doppelganger, in Pakistan apparently, selling groceries.

Another one joked, "Jani ek panadol yes karwa.”
However, this is not the only Pakistani connection to the show. The Professor is seen calling Pakistani hackers in one of the episodes, and the role is played by Indian actor Ajay Jethi.
The actor said in an interview with Quint, "It’s a small character, but I never expected to get this much love. People from India, Pakistan, Australia, Canada sent me messages. I got a little emotional. Punjabis are proud of me because they feel I’m one of them. Pakistanis were proud because my character helps The Professor.”

The show has been divided into two parts this time and the second part is said to launch in December.
