A video of an alligator eating a drone was recently shared on YouTube which was later reshared by Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Twitter. It caught Pichai’s attention as it showed an alligator destroying the drone while it was being filmed by the owner.Β

The video was shot in Florida and it shows an alligator snapping at the drone once it got too close. In the video, we can see that the alligator chews the drone as smoke keeps coming out of its mouth. The drone operator said that the drone had sensors that would keep the flying device at a safe distance from the gator. "We were trying to get a close up of the gator with its mouth open and thought the obstacle avoidance would make the drone fly away. [It] was only our second time using the spark,” the description of the video said.Β

The video was shared by Chris Anderson, the founder and former CEO of 3DR with the caption, "Alligator snatches drone out of the air and it promptly catches fire in its mouth.” Pichai retweeted the video probably because he found the video to be interesting or absolutely hilarious.Β

Having said that, we don’t really feel bad for the owner of the drone nor feel sorry for him. A drone was practically used to disturb natural wildlife in its habitat and some might say he deserved it for just doing that. Some Twitter users criticised the video for similar reasons:
β€œThis is part of why it is illegal to harass wildlife by flying drones near them. This was devastating and disgusting,” a user said.Β  "Alligator did not venture near drone..drone ventured near alligator,” wrote another.Β

Some users even pointed out that the alligator was protecting itself from a threat and the reaction was natural. Drones violating the space and habitats of wildlife is technically prohibited in many countries and in some cases even illegal. However, what many viewers found shocking was that Sundar Pichai retweeted the video on Twitter for everyone to see.Β

For some reason the fact that @sundarpichai retweeted this really amuses me. Maybe it’s nice to know he gets the same thrill out of the bizarre but enjoyable content we all find on the internet, often through his company’s products.

What do you think about the drone getting destroyed by the alligator? Do you think it was right for the owner to fly it so close to wildlife? Let us know in the comments what you feel about this video.Β

After facing a crushing defeat at Headingley, Team India would be hoping to turn things around in the fourth Test and restore their lead in the five-match series.
Despite the Indian team losing the Leeds Test in just over three days, head coach Ravi Shastri feels the pressure will be on Joe Root’s side as they are playing in their home conditions and everyone expects them to win.
The 59-year-old former India all-rounder also issued a warning saying that this Indian team would not back off after just one defeat and England should be ready for retaliation.

"If anyone thinks that this Indian team is going to back off, they have another thing coming because at 1-1, we are playing overseas, the pressure is on England. They have to win in their own country. We have done what we had to do with them in India. So, the ball is in their court and we will fight, there's no question about it," Shastri told Times Now Navbharat during an interaction while promoting his new book Stargazing.

On the face of it, Shastri tried to sound confident but some part of his statement made Indian fans angry as they didn’t like him saying: β€œthe ball is in their court” and β€œwe have done what we had to do with them in India”.
With the series level at 1-1, all three results are possible and the Indian supporters feel Shastri was trying to find an excuse already in case they end up on the wrong side of the result.
Nice excuse if you end up losing saying that we have anyhow defeated them in India.
β€” Kumara Sanghikkara (@sanghikkara) September 2, 2021So satisfied with beating them at home on doctored and underprepared pitches. Any win abroad seems to be a bonus. Champions WI and Aus of the 80s and 90s were not teams with such mentality. They equally won away consistently.
β€” Vinod (@vbgulwani) September 2, 2021We all know that the hosts are playing without some of their key players, including Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad, among others, and most experts, including Sunil Gavaskar and Micheal Vaughan, had predicted India as the favourites to win the series.
This is the best chance for India to win their first Test series on English soil since 2007, and Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli are also aware of the fact that they were the favourites to win the series and would be under equal pressure to deliver the result.

A team that prides itself on performing well away from home in hostile conditions, can’t allow this mindset to creep in where they are content with their home wins.

For years India have been called β€˜home track bullies’ and if they want to shed that tag they would have to win away from home, series after series.
