He was not from any film background and didn’t even have any godfather to help him get an entry to the land of Bollywood. He has been tested time and again but he didn’t lose hope. Hailing from the streets of Bihar, he came to Mumbai with a dream to conquer the hearts of people with his powerful performances. He has inspired many people who dreamt of making it big in Bollywood. Yes, we are talking about Manoj Bajpayee.
He has given many memorable performances, one being the thriller Kaun? which was released in 1999. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Urmila Matondkar, the film still stays as one of the most underrated gems. The film tells the tale of a serial killer and another individual locked up in the same house on a stormy evening.
In the movie, Manoj BajpayeeΒ proved the fact he can play any character to the T. Ram Gopal Varma roped in Anurag Kashyap as a writer who also worked with him in Satya.

In an interview with IANS, Manoj Bajpayee said that he won’t ever be a part of the remake of this movie. He said, β€œKaun? had really mesmerized people when it was released. Till now people talk about the film, which is so overwhelming. You do something 22 years back and people still talk about it in so much detail. They remember it so vividly.”
He went on to add, β€œBut I don’t think I would be part of a remake, it’s so boring. A story that you have already done… rather than doing it all over again, it is better to do something new. Anybody else should feature in it and they should experiment with the role in their own way. They may be better than me.”

We agree and also disagree with Manoj. We think that it’s hard for any other character to play his role in Kaun? as perfectly he did.
Manoj is one of the finest actors we have seen in the industry. He is never bogged down by the idea of playing the smallest of the characters in a film because he believes in making an impact and not the length of the role.
He has been riding high on the success of The Family Man 2 and was also recently seen in Dial 100.

Dino Morea, who recently portrayed the role of Muhammad Shaybani Khan in the web series The Empire, was instantly compared to incredible work done by Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji in 2018’s Padmaavat.Β

Here’s how the former has responded such comparisons:
β€œIf you compare me to someone who has done a fantastic job then chalo theek hai. I’m okay with it. Because Ranveer has done a fantastic job as Khilji. I have not been influenced by what he did as Khilji. I have tried to introduce my madness through Shaybani Khan. So I am ok with the comparison as long as it is to the best. Don't compare me with anything else but the best," Morea said in an interview with Bollywood Bubble.
β€œWe have just heard about a warrior and a barbarian... Was he emotional? Was he not emotional? Was he cold-blooded? We had to induce all that to make the character believable. I looked at the characteristics of a black panther, like how he is cunning, smart, savage, and beautiful to look at," he had spoken to PTI about the kind of innovative work that he had to do to bring such a character to life.

A famed model, Dino Morea made his acting debut back in 1999 with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and one of the best films that he was involved with was the 2002 classic horror Raaz. Ever since, many of his films were either semi-hits or flops.Β
"Despite acting in 15 films, I had never been to an acting school. So I got myself enrolled in an acting school in Delhi. It was a beginning to unlearn and learn new things. From 2013, I started pushing myself again by approaching producers and directors, but nothing great came my way. I held back and waited for the right opportunity. Mental Hood in 2017 followed by Hostages and Tandav was a warm up to The Empire,” he told Pinkvilla.

β€œI was knocking the doors saying that I want to work, but nothing really came my way. But it’s all a journey. Yes, the time was tough and mentally, I did go through a lot. But exercise, fitness, and being healthy helped me a lot. I was trying to be relevant by doing small jobs to be finally secure, but don’t want to talk about it. But nothing is impossible. Work hard and the world will open up for you,” he added.

A good tattoo is like a work of art. It carries meaning and story if you need it to. It can also be something absolutely mundane. I’ve known of people who’ve gotten water coolers and pineapples tattooed onto themselves for aesthetic reasons.
But not everyone is convinced about getting a tattoo done, let alone on whims and fancies. One of the reasons why people get intimidated by getting inked is because the process is more or less permanent. Unlike those Big Babool tattoos which faded away within days, a permanent tattoo can be a lifelong choice to stick with. Unless you’re planning on getting involved with laser removal options.Β
    They’re painful, mind you.Β
Let’s be real, it’s perfectly natural to regret getting tattoos done, considering our tastes and preferences can sometimes change on a day to day basis as well.Β
Many areΒ  uncomfortable with the thought of getting someone’s name tattooed on themselves. For them, it feels like too big of a commitment.
However, there are some Bollywood celebrities who were bold enough to take the plunge and get their partners’ names inked on themselves as a symbol of sachcha pyaar. Here’s a list of eight such tattooed premis:Β
    1. Hrithik RoshanDuring their six-year-long relationship, Hrithik got β€˜Sussanne’ tattooed on his left wrist as an ode to his love for his now ex-wife. Sussane Khan and Hrithik Roshan may have separated, but the couple still share an amiable and respectable relationship.Β

    2. Deepika PadukoneNot too long ago superstars Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapor were the hottest couple in the industry. It was around this time that the Om Shanti Om actor decided to get then boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor’s initials β€˜RK’ tattooed on the nape of her neck. Eventually, Ranbir and Deepika parted ways for the best. Deepika seems happier with Ranveer Singh and Ranbir seems to be perfect for Alia Bhatt.Β

β€œMera Pyaar Meri Amy”, that’s what you’d find tattooed on actor Prateek Babbar’s left forearm. The Amy in question is none other than his ex-girlfriend Amy Jackson. Probably not the wisest of decisions, in hindsight.Β

    4. Akshay KumarThe action superstar of Bollywood has β€˜Tina’ Β tattooed in cursive on his left shoulder. That’s his wife and boss lady Twinkle Khanna’s pet name for those unaware of it.

    5. Shibani DandekarThe latest entrant to the list is singer and popular emcee Shibani Dandekar. She immortalized her love for boyfriend, Farhan AkhtarΒ with a tattoo of his name. A stylised β€˜Farhan’ now adorns her neck.

    6. Saif Ali KhanMarried nine years ago, the Prince Of Pataudi’s relationship with wife Kareena Kapoor is still doted over by people across the internet. During their dating phase, Saif got Kareena’s name tattooed in Hindi on his left forearm.Β

    7. Manyatta DuttTheir relationship has barely been easy, but Manyatta Dutt has stood by husband Sanjay Dutt throughout his public scandals. She’s got the Zinda actor’s first name inked on her ring finger.Β

    8. Amy JacksonRounding up the list is Amy Jackson, who gotΒ  β€˜Mera Pyaar Mera Prateik’ inked on her during her relationship with Prateik Babbar. She’s reported to have gotten rid of the unfortunate tattoo recently, perhaps in an attempt to move on in life.Β

If you have seen the trailer of Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, you, like us, must have been left asking for more. With a cast that includes Awkwafina and Tony Leung, it is Marvel's first Asian-led narrative and it's really exciting, to say the least.

The movie follows the story of a superhero who confronts his past and present. Shang Chi leaves his old life behind for a more humble existence in San Francisco and is trying to lead a normal life despite being trained to be an assassin by his father Wenwu.
And now that Marvel has ventured into a full-fledged Asian narrative, it will be interesting to see an Indian venture with Bollywood actors on board. Here are five actors who we think can play the β€˜desi’ Shang Chi.
John Abraham View this post on Instagram
Considering the fact that he has done many action films in the past, we can totally imagine him pulling off perfect martial art moves in a Bollywood version of Shang Chi. In an interview with PTI, he had said, β€œI think the biggest stars are action heroes. Look at Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dwayne Johnson. Action stars will always be evergreen. In our country, apart from me, there is Tiger Shroff who is doing great action. At the moment, the two of us are doing action films. We both have different styles. There is a place for more action heroes but there are only two of us.”
Tiger Shroff View this post on Instagram
We have seen Tiger Shroff make his career out of action movies. His body of work speaks for his dedication as an action hero and that also makes him stand out amongst all his contemporaries. During an interaction with ANI, Tiger was asked about being typecast. To which, he replied, "Yes, Bollywood is a stereotype, but the stereotype gives you identity. There is so much competition these days that one has to maintain his image in the film industry. This stereotype helps maintain my identity."
Vidyut Jammwal View this post on Instagram
Vidyut Jammwal is known for performing terrific stunts on-screen and has been named as one of the top six martial artists across the world. In fact, he is the only Indian to have featured in the prestigious list curated by Looper. We think he will be the best one to step into the shoes of Simu Liu as the desi Shang Chi.
Sidharth Malhotra View this post on Instagram
Sidharth Malhotra has recently stunned us with his performance as Vikram Batra in Shershaah. We think if we can shoot at high altitudes for his role, he definitely can put in his complete dedication in portraying Shang Chi.
Ranveer Singh View this post on Instagram
As we know Ranveer Singh is the chameleon of the industry and he can pull off any character. From Allauddin Khilji to Bajirao, he's pulled off various roles with ease. And we don't doubt his abilities at all. He can bring both action and entertainment to the narrative.
What do you think of our list? Let us know who you would cast as the desi Shang Chi, in the comments section below.
