If you have seen the trailer of Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, you, like us, must have been left asking for more. With a cast that includes Awkwafina and Tony Leung, it is Marvel's first Asian-led narrative and it's really exciting, to say the least.

The movie follows the story of a superhero who confronts his past and present. Shang Chi leaves his old life behind for a more humble existence in San Francisco and is trying to lead a normal life despite being trained to be an assassin by his father Wenwu.

And now that Marvel has ventured into a full-fledged Asian narrative, it will be interesting to see an Indian venture with Bollywood actors on board. Here are five actors who we think can play the ‘desi’ Shang Chi.

Considering the fact that he has done many action films in the past, we can totally imagine him pulling off perfect martial art moves in a Bollywood version of Shang Chi. In an interview with PTI, he had said, “I think the biggest stars are action heroes. Look at Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dwayne Johnson. Action stars will always be evergreen. In our country, apart from me, there is Tiger Shroff who is doing great action. At the moment, the two of us are doing action films. We both have different styles. There is a place for more action heroes but there are only two of us.”

We have seen Tiger Shroff make his career out of action movies. His body of work speaks for his dedication as an action hero and that also makes him stand out amongst all his contemporaries. During an interaction with ANI, Tiger was asked about being typecast. To which, he replied, "Yes, Bollywood is a stereotype, but the stereotype gives you identity. There is so much competition these days that one has to maintain his image in the film industry. This stereotype helps maintain my identity."

Vidyut Jammwal is known for performing terrific stunts on-screen and has been named as one of the top six martial artists across the world. In fact, he is the only Indian to have featured in the prestigious list curated by Looper. We think he will be the best one to step into the shoes of Simu Liu as the desi Shang Chi.

Sidharth Malhotra has recently stunned us with his performance as Vikram Batra in Shershaah. We think if we can shoot at high altitudes for his role, he definitely can put in his complete dedication in portraying Shang Chi.

As we know Ranveer Singh is the chameleon of the industry and he can pull off any character. From Allauddin Khilji to Bajirao, he's pulled off various roles with ease. And we don't doubt his abilities at all. He can bring both action and entertainment to the narrative.
