    We all have seen countless funny and bizarre incidents unfold on a cricket field, to an extent that nothing surprises us anymore. But every now and then we come across something that blows our mind and makes us wonder how can this happen.
    Generally most of the bizarre cricket incidents revolve around bat and ball, but not this, it literally involves a much bigger thing -- a pitch roller. Shocked? We told you it would blow your mind.

    The incident involves a pitch roller and an international cricketer. After a pitch roller went missing, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association wrote an email to all-rounder Parvez Rasool, asking him to return the roller or get ready to face “police action”.

    Rasool is the first cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to play for India and has played for several IPL franchises, including RCB, SRH among others. The all-rounder is perhaps the most well-known cricketer in the union territory and was shocked to receive such an email that accused him of stealing.

    “Today I got a letter stating that I have taken roller from JKCA which is really unfortunate… Let me clarify that I haven’t taken any roller or machine from JKCA. I am a player who is playing cricket. I just want to ask is this the way to treat international cricketer who has given life and soul to J&K cricket. You have an affiliated body in all districts; you should ask them for any JKCA equipment if present in their districts rather than me,” Rassol said in his reply, as reported by The Indian Express.

    As the news became viral, fans took to social media and expressed their curiosity. But only a few of them were bothered about finding out if he actually did it or not, the rest of them were more interested in knowing how the hell he was able to pull it off.

    After knowing the other side of the story, we can safely say that it was a clear case of miscommunication between the two parties. In fact, the JKCA wrote a letter marking all the district associations and since Rasool’s name was there in their database he ended up receiving the mail just like everyone else.

Notable journalists are seen asking him about his relationship status and now, Red FM’s popular RJ Malishka Mendonsa has taken it to a next level by making him uncomfortable with her dance performance. She shared a video of her and the Red FM staff dancing in front of the ace javelin thrower. 
    Despite Chopra looking uneasy and forcing a smile on his face, the radio jockey and her team continued dancing to the tunes of Ude Jab jab zulfein teri.     After the video went viral, people started to bash her for objectifying the male athlete. People also questioned that had a female player been subjected to similar harassment, how would pseudo-feminists have reacted. This shameless objectification has made people lose their calm and question the whole idea of gender equality and sexism.

    Lionel Messi’s departure from Barcelona FC has to be one of the more emotional and heartbreaking narratives in the history of the sporting world. The Argentine star did not want to leave the club and the organisation left no stones unturned to try and keep him on board. 
    However, it was the Spanish football league LaLiga’s stern rules and regulations that prevented Messi and Barca’s deal to succeed, forcing him to look for other options and the legendary athlete decided to go ahead with Paris Saint-Germain FC as his new home in Ligue 1. 
    The press conference during which Messi officially announced his departure from the club, where he had spent over two decades of his life, was understandably painful to endure and as a result, the 34-year old superstar ended up in tears while bidding adieu. 
    In the process, Messi’s wife Antonella handed him a tissue paper which he used to dry his eyes and wipe his nose, as one does after crying. 
    Now, this is where the story takes a weird turn. The issue paper, which is full of Messi’s tears and… other stuff, is being sold online for the price of $1 million with multiple potential buyers already lurking around like sharks.

    The person auctioning the tissue on Meikeduo justifies the validity of such a high auctioning price by saying that it “contains Messi’s genetic material” as quoted by Lad Bible and that his gene can be used to clone him in the future when we have the accurate science and technology to do so.

    Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk admitted on Twitter that he has cancelled his Apple News subscription. According to him, the app is a “major source of negativity.”
    He’s not the first high-profile CEO to cancel his subscription to the service. Earlier this month, President and CEO of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth and Investment Management, Ross Gerber also cancelled his subscription to the service to which Musk replied “same.”

    Apple News works similar to other news aggregator services albeit only with select publications. The app allows subscribers to read news from daily newspapers, websites and topics the service curates on a variety of topics. However, since some news aggregator services work on algorithms that recommend articles based on your interests and reading history, many of them have been accused of cultivating ‘echo chambers’.

    It could be possible that Musk may have cancelled his subscription to the service for similar reasons. It’s not clear whether Musk has cancelled the Apple News Plus service which is subscription-based or the free tier of Apple News.

    It is also not the first time Musk has been critical of Apple. Last month, Musk supported Epic Games' battle with the Cupertino giant for imposing fees on its App Store. "Apple app store fees are a de facto global tax on the Internet. Epic is right," he said in a tweet.

    Musk is also a regular critic of Apple’s “walled garden” and its grip on the tech ecosystem. Specifically, Musk has complained in the past about the company’s usage of cobalt, a mineral used for making lithium-ion batteries.

Despite multiple iterations and revisions, the core story remains the same. Archie the redheaded protagonist navigates the various vagrancies of school life, often having to choose between Veronica and Betty. All comically punctuated by  Jughead’s hungry antics.

    In the past, it has spawned several spinoffs, both animated and live action. Riverdale being the best known of those iterations. Having started off as a promising teenage drama series, it soon devolved into an unholy mess of epic proportions, with them changing the entire tonality of the series from lighthearted, slice of life storytelling to a rather dissonant pivot to ghosts, zombies and more controversially, a scandalous Betty and Jughead romance. These stories worked well within an animated medium, however live-action renditions were cringe inducing at best. For true Archie lovers, the Riverdale series feels almost sacrilegious. 
    Closer home, one of the few directors whose body of work justifies working on a project like this is Zoya Akhtar . Boasting an impressive storytelling repertoire across movies such as Lust Stories, Gully Boy, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bombay  Talkies and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the talented director’s ability to do justice to the source material isn’t in doubt.

    However, for all its merits, The ZNMD filmmaker’s live-action digital  project is bound to court some controversy because of the names that are being launched, considering Bollywood’s past trysts with nepotism inspired troubles.
     As reported by PinkVilla, Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan , Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda, and Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s daughter Khushi have been roped in for this. Suhana and Khushi could possibly be playing Betty and Veronica respectively, but at this point since it’s a desi remake, depending on how they take the story forward, it could go either way.

    Akshay Kumar’s spy film BellBottom couldn’t make the expected money at the box office on day one. According to a report by HT, it made between Rs 2.5-2.75 crore on its first day of release.
    The film has released at a time when theatres all across Maharashtra are closed due to the pandemic and other businesses are operating at a restricted capacity.

    A BoxOfficeIndia report said, now New Delhi is the biggest market for films as it will be contributing around 20% of the country’s earnings. However, the numbers fell short of prediction and dashed hopes for a Rs 3 crore opening day. 
    The film is released in fewer than 1000 theatres nationwide and only opened between 15-20% occupancy. BellBottom is also the biggest film to release in theatres after the second wave of the Coronavirus.  
    Also, its opening day numbers are lower than those of Roohi and Mumbai Saga. The film was released only after the theatres were allowed to operate at full capacity. 
    Roohi made more than Rs 3 crore on its opening day and Mumbai Saga made Rs 2.82 crores.

    Many films have been released on streaming platforms and many big-ticket projects are waiting for things to get better and release in theatres.   
    BellBottom was among the first major Bollywood films to be produced entirely during the pandemic. The cast and crew filmed in a bubble in Scotland last year. 
    Ahead of the release, the actor had expressed concerns about its box office potential. 
    Akshay Kumar told SpotboyE, "The business is going to be different because Maharashtra is 30% of the total all-India collection. I am left with only 70% (the rest of the country) and of that, it is only 50% occupancy expected. That means I am only left with 35% (of the entire collection that would have been possible if it was an all-India release). So out of that 35%, we can take out 5 to 8%, because full house toh nahin rahega. So I am left with only around 27%. That’s the probable business. Now, in this scenario, if the movie does ₹30 crore business that means it is equivalent to ₹100 crores otherwise. If the movie does ₹50 crores then it equals ₹150 crores (under pre-pandemic circumstances). So that’s where it stands."

    3. RestrepoThis gives you a dark peek into the war struck through the lens of a journalist and a photographer, who follows and spends time with a US Platoon in Afghanistan. This gives you a detailed insight into the lives of US soldiers serving time there.

    4. OsamaThis dark tale is a deep peek into the lives of people in war struck, Taliban controlled Afghanistan. A mother tries to disguise her daughter as a boy named Osama to escape the country. Soon the Taliban start recruiting young boys and they fear that the truth behind ‘Osama’ will be discovered.

    5. Taxi To The Dark SideThis one shows the use of torture at the hands of American military in Afghanistan through the murder of an Afghani driver who was taken in for some interrogation at Bagram Air Base in 2002. It is concluded that the driver was resorted to extensive physical torture and making this as a premise, the movie explores how torture on citizens worked during the time of Bush administration.

    Last week a hacker stole over $600 million in different cryptocurrencies from a company and hid it in different digital wallets. Now, the company that was targeted has offered the hacker a job as Chief Security Advisor.

    The company deemed the heist in high regard since the hacker was able to steal cryptocurrency worth $600 million. Poly Network is a company that allows transactions between different blockchains. However, the platform had a vulnerability that the hacker could exploit and get away with hundreds of millions of dollars in different cryptocurrencies. 

    Poly Network was founded by Chinese entrepreneur Da Hongfei, who is also the chief executive of Neo, a blockchain platform. The network operates on Ethereum, Polygon and  Binance Smart Chain blockchains. Tokens can be swapped using a smart contract that contains instructions on how to release the asset.

    According to blockchain forensics company Chainalysis, the hacker was able to steal funds in more than 12 different cryptocurrencies. Some of the cryptocurrencies include ether and a type of bitcoin.

    Poly Network warned the hacker that the cryptocurrencies he stole will not work as a financial transaction. "Law enforcement in any country will regard this as a major economic crime and you will be pursued," said the company in an open letter to the hacker. The person responsible for the hack is now returning the money.

    Now, the company has offered a job to the hacker who they call “Mr White Hat.” The Poly network explained in a blog post that the company shares similar concerns as the hacker for its overall security and development strategy. 

    "We are also counting on more experts like Mr White Hat to be involved in the future development of Poly Network since we believe that we share the vision to build a secure and robust distributed system,” the company said. "Also, to extend our thanks and encourage Mr White Hat to continue contributing to security advancement in the blockchain world together with Poly Network, we cordially invite Mr White Hat to be the Chief Security Advisor of Poly Network,” the company added. 
    The company has now created a patch to fix the security breach that was exploited by the hacker to steal millions of dollars.

    The second Test between India and England saw multiple players from both sides of the contest switch to their aggressive side as the number of days passed by and the zeal to get a lead in the series became stronger.
    Amid the numerous verbal battles being exchanged between the two teams, one stood out in which in the first innings, batsman James Anderson walked up to Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, allegedly abused him and complained about bowling too fast to him.

    In an over, Bumrah delivered four no-balls by overstepping the crease. It was the same over in which the paceman bowled a few short-pitch balls with Anderson on strike, which made the Englishman irk enough to grumble and protest out loud.

    “So after the innings, the boys were walkin back to the dressing room. Then, Bumrah walked past Jimmy and just patted at him, so as to tell him that it [bouncers] wasn’t intentional. We all know Bumrah. He is such a nice guy. So he had gone to talk to him and end the matter, but Jimmy brushed him aside,” Sridhar added.

    “Brushing him aside, he has told him “You bowl only 85MPH to the other batters, you are bowling 90MPH to me. This is cheating. I won’t accept,” Sridhar went on to further ridicule Anderson for crying to Bumrah for actually doing his job.

    With Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021) set to resume next month in the United Arab Emirates, the official broadcasters are leaving no stones unturned to promote the upcoming event. To sell a cricket product in a country like India, there’s hardly anyone who can rival Dhoni’s popularity. So, they teamed up with him and shot some promotional videos, with Dhoni in a completely new avatar. 
    However, their move to colour a certain section of Dhoni’s hair in gold didn’t go down well with his fans and they let their frustration known on social media. Some of the fans even came up with a name for Dhoni’s new appearance describing it as: ‘Chapri Look’.
