A number of things took place during the second Test match between India and England that have led to many noticeable names of international cricket trying to villainise the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli for the way he operates on (and sometimes off) the field.
For instance, the former England batsman Nick Compton recently expressed his issues with the Indian skipper and his aggressive nature in a tweet, while stating his own encounter with Kohli from back in 2012.

β€œIsn’t Kohli the most foul mouthed individual. I’ll Never forget the barrage of abuse I received in 2012 when the swearing stunned me to the point that he did himself a serious disservice. It highlights what a level headed and grounded man Root, Tendulkar, Williamson et al are," said Compton in a tweet which he deleted quickly after facing severe backlash online.

Then there was Kohli’s speech ahead of England’s second innings that has gone viral in which he commanded his team to make the final 60 overs of the match a living hell for their rivals. While it was nothing more than just a motivational speech, he was branded an authoritarian, a war general, and even a dictator for such stern words.
    The intensity of Virat Kohli!

In English: "If I see anyone laughing in front of their players, see what happens. Got it?"

Additionally, reports of Virat Kohli’s boys trying to bully Ollie Robinson in the halls of Lord’s have also come forward making the scenario worse for the Indian cricketer.
Amid such hostile takes from all over, Kohli’s case found some support by someone who was known for being aggressive back in the day and who truly understands and appreciates the need for intensity during crucial moments of a match.

Former England skipper and one of the best batsmen in his time, Kevin Pietersen came to Virat Kohli’s rescue and appreciated the level of commitment and drive that he brings along and how it is elevating the popularity of red-ball cricket.
"Virat Kohli is fantastic for Test cricket. Knowing Virat Kohli the way that I do, I know the huge impetus he puts on following in the footsteps of his heroes. His heroes are Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and other legends of Test match cricket," Pietersen wrote in his blog for Betway.Β

"You can see by his enthusiasm, intensity, and the way he rallies his troops. Test cricket still means everything to him. Kohli knows that to be considered a legend of the game, he needs to deliver in this format as well as in T20. That’s why he puts so much importance on this format, and at a time when Test cricket needs all the love it can get, how good is it to see a global superstar so passionate about it," Kevin Pietersen added.

Ever since the second Test match between India and England concluded at Lord’s with the touring side taking a 1-0 lead in the series, the English media has widely reported an incident in which the cricketer Ollie Robinson was borderline bullied by his competitors behind-the-scenes at the London venue.
According to these reports, after the Sam Curran wicket fell in the second innings and England’s scoreboard read 90/7, it was time for Ollie Robinson to help his side survive the Indian bowling attack.

Padded up, as Robinson was walking towards the ground, two of the reserved players from the Indian side got in his way and refused to let him pass by, albeit only for a couple of seconds.Β
β€œAs [Ollie] Robinson descends the pavilion steps, a couple of India players in tracksuits are coming back in the opposite direction, having just been out on the field delivering drinks. Robinson stops and waits for them to step aside," a report in the Guardian newspaper stated.

β€œThey do not step aside. Robinson waits. They wait. Eventually, after a fashion, they sort of awkwardly squeeze past each other. The whole encounter lasts barely a couple of seconds and yet as a motif for this bruising, absorbing final day it is hard to beat," added the report which analysed England’s defeat.
If these reports are true then Virat Kohli and his men have gone way beyond the realm of competitiveness for taking the rivalry outside of the ground and into their dressing rooms and their actions must be condemned.Β

Having said that, this could easily be a moment of misunderstanding in which both sides were awkwardly waiting on each other to pass by and eventually decided to do so at the same time, making it look like they made the English cricketer β€œsqueeze past” them.
The fact remains that this Test series has turned out to be a lot more heated and personal for many players including Virat Kohli, James Anderson, Ollie Robinson, Mohammed Siraj, Jos Buttler, and Jasprit Bumrah, all of whom have acted out at one point or another during the five days of game time.

With the third Test taking place in Leeds from August 25, it will be interesting to see whether the tensions continue to build up or will the week-long break water down the rivalry a little bit.

Cryptocurrency has seen a growth in adoption by 880% across the world in the past year. Vietnam, India and Pakistan are currently leading in terms of adoption rate with other emerging markets. According to blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, Vietnam is leading the charts by a massive margin.Β
The firm calculated the adoption rate based on three metrics i.e. on-chain cryptocurrency value received, on-chain retail value transferred, and peer-to-peer exchange trade volume between the period of June 2020 and June 2021.Β

It is worth pointing out that emerging markets like India dominate the list whereas economic powerhouses such as China and the U.S. have fallen down to the 13th and 8th rank respectively.

β€œAnalysis shows how far P2P volumes have fallen in the two countries compared to worldwide volumes. We show this in the index chart below, which shows relative change in P2P volumes for the U.S. and China compared to worldwide totals” Chainalysis said in its report.
Chainalysis’ report says emerging markets have seen a massive devaluation of their native currencies which could be the reason why people may have invested in alternatives like cryptocurrencies.Β
