Much like Redmi’s smartphones, the company is now looking to disrupt the laptop market and it seems like they might be one the right track. Redmi is known for offering budget-friendly products without compromising on quality. The Redmibook e-Learning Edition might be a manifestation of that ethos, but it does make certain sacrifices that are sacrilegious in 2021.
Redmibook 15 e-Learning Edition Specifications The RedmiBook 15 e-Learning Edition features a 15.6-inch TN panel that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It’s got a 256GB SATA SSD or 512GB NVMe SSD, 11th-generation Intel Core i3-1115G4 CPU locked at 4.1 GHz, and 8GB of DDR4 RAM. Overall, the laptop offers everything you would need from a laptop if you are a student or even a professional who doesn’t need to compute heavy tasks. The laptop has a 46 Whr battery that can yield you a back up of up to 10 hours.
Design The Redibook 15 e-Learning Edition looks largely the same as the Redmibook 15 Pro with the only difference being the Intel Core i5-11300H processor on the latter. The laptop weighs around 1.8 kg which isn’t too heavy considering other laptops of similar size.

The overall design of the laptop borrows from the Mi Notebook series where it makes slight changes in terms of branding. The minimalistic design is very reminiscent of modern laptops you may have seen by Apple, Dell and ASUS. However, unlike the previous Mi Notebook, the Redmibook 15 e-Learning Edition comes with a 720p webcam that will be useful for online classes and calls.

When using the laptop, you will notice that the quality of the display is probably it’s weakest feature here. Redmi is using a TN panel here which is one of the lowest grade displays one can use in a laptop that’s not meant for competitive gaming. The viewing angles aren’t ideal and the colour accuracy is not up to the mark. It seems like Redmi used a TN panel to cut costs, however the quality of the display is quite disappointing nonetheless.

When looking at the keyboard, you will be reminded of design cues Redmi has taken from Apple MacBooks. The keys use the scissor mechanism which makes typing on the keyboard a pure delight. The 1.5 mm key travel makes it very easy to type documents such as this review without feeling much fatigue.
    © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
The Redmibook 15 series also has a larger trackpad which was a major complaint on the Mi Notebook series. While the large trackpad does help in navigation, the trackpad itself isn’t as smooth as I expected it to be. I experienced far more friction while using the trackpad which made it harder to use it for navigation for an extended period of time. For students, who I assume are the primary target audience for this model, I would recommend using a USB mouse instead of the trackpad if you don’t want to tire yourself out browsing the internet or documents.

In terms of ports, the Redmi 15 e-Learning Edition comes with a USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone port, an SD Card slot, an ethernet port, an HDMI 1.4 port and 2 USB 3.2 ports as well. While you are mostly covered in terms of ports, I would have liked to see a USB-C port as well, especially since most Redmi phones now use that connector. I do understand why Redmi opted to exclude the USB-C port, however it sure would have made life easier for everyone if we had that option.

    © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
Since there is no USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, the laptop uses a standard power port which I also thought was a lost opportunity. Many modern laptops use USB-C PD charging as a standard now and it would have been nice to see Redmi offering the same solution.

Performance Considering the hardware, the Redmibook 15 e-Learning Edition comes with Intel’s latest Tiger Lake 11th Gen i3-1115G4 CPU which can be clocked to 4.1 Ghz. The CPU has been paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM which cannot be upgraded later on. Since the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard, you’re stuck with the available on-board RAM in case you want to upgrade in the future.
The laptop also has 11th Gen Intel UHD Graphics which means it’s fine for basic photoshop editing and image resizing. It really isn’t meant for playing games, even titles like CS:GO which might be a disappointment for some people. If you were looking to get a laptop with discrete graphics, you can consider having a look at the Redmibook 15 Pro variant.
The other main attraction here is the SSD which is much faster than older laptops that still use HDD. Having said that, the 256GB variant uses a SATA SSD which isn’t as fast as a M.2 PCIe SSD found on the 512GB variant. It still managed to open files at blazing speeds and read/write speeds were at par with laptops that cost more than the Redmibook 15 e-Learning Edition. You can start the laptop from cold state in about 35-40 seconds which is much faster than what I had anticipated and is bound to be even faster on the M.2 PCIe SSD model.
    © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
Since the laptop uses the 11th Gen i3-1115G4 CPU, you can expect it to handle resource-heavy tasks easily. It can handle single-core performance fairly well but often fails to deliver with multi-core performance apps. Multitasking on the laptop is held back due to the limited 8GB of RAM which often shot up to max usage when running multiple resource-heavy apps. While using the laptop for daily work, I often have many tabs open on Chrome and use Word to type out reviews such as this one. With just 7-8 tabs open, I struggled to get Microsoft Word to work smoothly which can be problematic for students who may use this laptop for term papers and dissertations.

It is also worth pointing out that while running resource-demanding apps, the laptop can get quite warm which you can feel on the keyboard itself. Since there aren’t additional air vents on the sides of the laptop, heat is dissipated from the bottom fans which results in some throttling issues.
    © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
One thing worth noting is that the laptop tends to get quite hot during such RAM-intensive tasks. The keyboard deck hit 40 degrees during a 10-minute CS:GO session and the edges were even hotter. That’s primarily because there are no air vents anywhere except the bottom which remains blocked on a tabletop. It got similarly hot while transcoding a video on HandBrake.

For better perspectives, in my tests, the Redmibook 15 e-Learning Edition scored 1121 (single-core) and 2384 (multi-core) on Geekbench 5. On Cinebench, it scored 2921 in the multi-core test.
The Final Say In my honest opinion, if you are looking for a budget laptop that can do all the basics, the Redmibook 15 e-Learning Edition is a great option to consider. It does have its caveats but I would suggest looking at them as necessary budget constraints. If you are a student in college or school, or a parent looking to get a laptop for your children, the Redmibook 15 e-Learning Edition is a viable starting point.

Actor Saif Ali Khan is one of the few actors in the industry who probably didn’t taste success in the beginning of their career but eventually surprised the world with their stellar acting skills. Remember how he took the OTT world by a storm with that insane act in Sacred Games? Well, turns out he also rejected quite a few big projects on his way up and here are few films which he turned down:

    1. 2 StatesEven though the movie was a hit and everybody did justice to bringing the novel to life, Arjun wasn’t the first choice. The movie was first offered to Saif, then SRK, followed by Ranbir. Eventually, Arjun ended up doing it and did a good job.

    2. TalaashNow one would say that you can't imagine anyone replacing Aamir as this fierce cop looking for answers but post Sacred Games, I’d say Saif would have done full justice to this role. Kareena Kapoor explained in an interview that Saif was indeed the first choice but at that time, he was more inclined towards a commercial movie.

    3. DDLJYes, no one would probably dare touch the perfection and the cult status that this movie enjoys in our hearts but before SRK took over as the iconic Raj, Saif was considered for the lead role.

    4. Race 3It is only natural to assume that after being a part of the first two projects, he’d be seen in the third part as well. While not much is known, reports claim that he didn’t want to play the second lead with Salman ‘bhai’ after being the lead in the first two projects.

    5. Kuch Kuch Hota HaiSaif was offered the role of Aman Mehra, which was not the lead role but an important one. It was eventually essayed by Salman Khan who even won an award for the best supporting actor.

In terms of number of runs scored, Rohit Sharma has been India’s second-best batsmen in the ongoing Test series against England but he has impacted the game like no one else. Known for his attacking flair in white-ball cricket, Rohit has kept his ego aside and transformed his technique and temperament in order to succeed in England’s challenging conditions.
    © BCCI
Given his performance, it’s hard to think that Rohit wasn’t a regular member of India’s Test squad two years ago. On the back of a brilliant World Cup 2019, the team management decided to promote him up the order in the home Test series against South Africa and the rest, as they say, is history. He hasn’t looked back since and has only gone from strength to strength, scoring runs both home and away, laying strong foundations for the batsmen to follow.

The right-handed batsman has been one of India’s most consistent performers in red-ball cricket in the last two years and has carried on with the same form in the ongoing series in England, scoring 152 runs in four innings at an average of 50.67.
Through his consistent performances, he has earned a rightful place in the Top 10 of the ICC Test Rankings for batsmen and has further strengthened his position after scoring a valuable half-century in the first innings of the just-concluded Test in London. It was his first test fifty outside Asia.

With 773 rating points, Rohit is now only three points behind Indian skipper Virat Kohli who is currently occupying the fifth position with 776 points. The only other Indian batsman in the list is wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant who is placed at No. 6 with 736 rating points.

Watching two of our top-order batsmen in the Top 10 of ICC Rankings should’ve been a matter of great pride for the Indian fans but sadly it wasn’t the case. Some toxic people on social media, disguised as cricket fans, started spreading hatred.
Rohit and Kohli both enjoy a massive fan-following on social media but their ‘so-called followers’ began an unnecessary fight on the micro-blogging site, pulling each other down.
    Here’s how they reacted:
Chokli shouldn't be in top 10. He is currently 3rd best batsman in India after Hitman and spiderman.

No doubt, Kohli has looked out of touch in this series so far but we should not forget he is the same player who won us so many matches single-handedly on countless occasions.

The recently released biopic on Captain Vikram Batra titled Shershaah united the entire country together as we all swam in a pool of emotions with this heart touching film. Starring Sidharth Malhotra in the titular role and Kiara Advani as the female lead, the movie follows the life of Captain Batra who bravely fought and led India’s victory in the Kargil war.

While not a single dry eye was left after the movie finished, one of the best parts of this aesthetically brilliant movie was how ‘real’ the fight sequences looked. The prime reasons include the fact that the film was shot in real locations, including the dangerous, steep peaks of Kargil, and secondly, the cast and crew spent extensive time training and observing real life jawans.
Actor Pranay Pachauri, who played rifleman Yashpal Sharma, shared details about how they all trained with the jawans to prep up their body language and act like a real soldier.
“We had to shoot at 12,000-13,000 feet in Kargil and for that, we had to be mentally and physically fit. We were trained for a month with NSG commandos, so you can understand the level at which we were trained, from 4 am to 9 am we were at it, working on our physical strength to our mental strength. From learning how to dismantle, clean, and reassemble our rifles to all the sign languages used to communicate actions. We were trained to be lethal, stealthy, trained to fight which helped us get into the skin of our characters”, he recalls.
    © Dharma Productions
While the crew trained in terms of enduring the disciplined life our soldiers lead and how they use their weaponry, the concept of living and sticking together was another important aspect that the actors learnt.

“They made us realise how brotherhood is the main weapon, source of courage and bravery, where they would sacrifice themselves to keep the country safe,” he exclaimed. Also, while shooting at real life locations, it is inevitable that one WILL feel a lot of emotions.
“We shot the film at 12,000 to 13,000 feet in Kargil that means very little oxygen and the weather was unpredictable and it was extremely tough for our bodies to acclimatise as we were using real rifles and we had to fight, shoot, run and carry our missions at real-time locations but thanks to our command training we were quick to adapt. It was eerie to shoot in such real-time locations, imagining this is how it must have been, this is how it must have felt during the Kargil war. We could see Pakistan from our shooting location and knowing that they could probably see us shooting... it just gave us goosebumps and for some moments it felt real,” he said.

The movie is airing on Prime video and has managed to melt every heart in the country as we salute the spirit and bow down to the martyrs who laid their lives to win the Kargil war for their motherland.

Bollywood has always held lead actors on a pedestal, relegating other actors who are a part of a movie to the second and third tiers of stardom. Sahil Vaid, who was recently seen in Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah, has confessed that he regrets being a part of the movie.
View this post on InstagramIn an interview, Sahil Vaid thanked Dharma Productions for giving him a role in films such as Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya but also added that he would've preferred to play a soldier in Shershaah.
He told Zoom, “I kind of figured out that this is kind of a very small role and did not really want to do this role. I went to the director and told him to give me a uniformed role. I really would love to play a soldier, nobody has seen me in such roles and I really want to do those battle scenes, but the director was convinced I was best suited to play Sunny. I owe Dharma a lot. They gave me Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania as well as Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and this was a way of me saying thank you."
    View this post on Instagram
He continued, "Shershaah has [been] released and reviews are pouring in. People are talking about the movie, but nobody is talking about these remarkable actors who have actually lent support to this film. There are some really amazing actors who have worked in this movie, set aside their egos, and gone for smaller roles… agreed to do bit parts because they wanted to pay tribute to the late Captain Vikram Batra. That is why I did this movie as well and now I am realising I should not have done this movie, people are not even talking about what I have done in the film.”
View this post on InstagramHis points are completely valid and it shows the plight of the actors who are not seen in lead roles. Sahil’s character was a critical one as he only supported Vikram when he was losing his focus in life. However, the attention or recognition he's received is nothing compared to the leading pair of the film.
It’s high time we recognised such talented actors and gave them their due credit.

Some PlayStation 5 customers in India reached out to me privately reporting that they did not receive an official warranty card inside the retail box. Both the PlayStation 5 Disc and Digital Edition come with an official Sony warranty card that is yellow in colour. These warranty cards are essential to show at service centres across the country for repairs/replacements in case of unforeseen problems.
    © martin-katler-unsplash
It is essential that customers who did not receive a warranty card within their retail box get in touch with Sony India customer care. The warranty card includes important information such as the model name, serial number and the warranty validity date for your PS5 console. You will be required to send a copy of the Purchase/GST invoice associated with your purchase in order to get a duplicate warranty card from Sony India.

To be on the safe side, in order to authenticate that your console was purchased via an Indian retailer, we also recommend sending a picture of the BIS sticker that can be found on the back of your console.
The PlayStation 5 launched in India on February 2, 2021 and has since been available via restocking six times. The Digital Edition was not available for purchase during the initial launch cycle and was made available in one of the later restocks.
If you want to know more about the PlayStation 5, you can read our detailed review here where we talk about the console's performance, design and features we feel can be improved.

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have made headlines once again for the reports of their engagement. For quite some time, people have been speculating that the two actors are dating each other but they have been tight-lipped about their relationship. They have been spotted at multiple events together but have chosen to be secretive about their alleged relationship.
    View this post on Instagram
For the unversed, Katrina and Vicky’s dating rumours had begun when during an award show, the actor had confessed that he has a huge crush on Katrina. While both were on the stage to present an award, Vicky had asked her "Why don't you find a nice boy like Vicky Kaushal and get married to him?" He further raised eyebrows by asking her, "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi?"
Now with the reports of their engagement doing the rounds, people have lost their calm and have dragged Salman Khan's name into the scene. They have been saying that Salman would destroy Vicky’s career and all the mean things these trolls can probably say.
Here’s what these trolls have been saying:

We would love it if these reports were true but turns out they were just rumours. Though Katrina and Vicky didn't comment on the same, Zoom reached out to the former’s spokesperson who refuted all these reports. The spokesperson said, “There has been no Roka ceremony. She is leaving for Tiger 3 shoot soon.”

Now, all rumours can rest in peace.
The two were recently spotted together at the special screening of the film Shershaah. Just a while ago, Harshvardhan Kapoor had confirmed that the two are in a relationship. In an interview with Zoom, Kapoor was asked about a rumoured relationship in Bollywood that is real, in response to which he said, “Vicky and Katrina are together, that’s true. Am I going to get in trouble for saying this? I don’t know. I think they’re quite open about it.”
We wish the two would come out in public as a couple soon.

It’s no secret that most men are often misjudged and misunderstood. The same goes for the men in reel life too. I mean, the characters who are seemingly the bad guys. However, not all bad guys in movies are sadistic villains. Some are just real and flawed like most of us.

    © Yash Raj Films
There are some male characters who we all got wrong. We passionately and unanimously loathed them because we were probably so blinded by the charm and sob stories of the main lead. However, after growing up and being a bit flawed ourselves, we realized that they were actually not that evil and had a reason to be the way they were.

    © Vinod Chopra Films
Here are five male characters who were disliked by everyone but in fact, are real and highly misunderstood.

Anshuman from Jab We Met © Studio18
Okay, hear me out. Anshuman was Geet’s boyfriend who used to sneak her out from her hostel and for all we know he never really promised to marry her. It was all in Geet’s head and the good guy Aditya even validated the fact that she was impulsive.

    © Studio18
If a guy had shown up at a girl’s place and declared he had run away just to marry her, he would have been thrown out by her entire family. And talking about him ditching her, what did Geet do to him in the end? That’s right!

Narayan Shankar from Mohabbatein  © Yash Raj Films
Everytime I watch Mohabbatein, I hate Raj more than Narayan Shankar. In fact, Narayan Shankar was actually not that bad. He might be a bit strict but he loved his daughter and grieved her loss.

    © Yash Raj Films
It was Raj who portrayed him as heartless and even blamed him for his daughter’s death. Who does that to a grieving father? Also, he was the principal of an esteemed boy’s boarding school. What do you expect him to do if his students broke hostel gates and went to eve-tease girls on Holi?

Subodh from Dil Chahta Hai © Excel Entertainment
We never wanted to be Subodh or date a Subodh or have him as a friend because he was stuck-up, the human form of a time-table. But now that I think of it, he was a terrific boyfriend who genuinely cared about Pooja.

    © Excel Entertainment
He remembered important dates, took her to romantic dinners and even tolerated Sameer who was trying to steal his girl. Meanwhile both Pooja and Sameer mocked him behind his back. Subodh deserved better.

Dr J. Asthana from Munna Bhai M.B.B.S © Vinod Chopra Productions
Yes, the way he insulted Munna’s parents was entirely wrong. However, he was not that evil. He is misunderstood. He was running a hospital and maintaining the decorum as the dean while dealing with a gangster who cheated on an exam and now danced in the OPD to treat patients?

    © Vinod Chopra Productions
Can you really blame him for being mad? Ask any real-life doctor and they would side with Dr. Asthana as well. We got him all wrong.

Chatur Ramalingam from 3 Idiots © Vinod Chopra Films
We’ve all met a ‘Chatur’ while we were in school. Sometimes, it was our friend who would backstab us to get good marks. But do we really need to hate Chatur?

He was a teacher’s pet  but at least he was better than Rancho who was involved in an identity fraud, almost got his friends expelled (while he topped all exams) and even made Chatur’s speech a disgusting rape joke.
    © Vinod Chopra Films
If you want to hate someone, hate Rancho.

Kangana Ranaut has been wired into several controversies, but despite that, the actress always has a befitting response and handles everything like a 'Queen'. Recently, she was trolled and called a hypocrite as she posted scintillating pictures wearing a bralette on Instagram. There was a time when Kangana took to Twitter and shamed women who wore torn jeans.
This didn't go well with people, and they were enraged. Hence, when she posted pictures in bralette, the audience was bound to be irked.

Yet again, the actress has hinted at another controversy, it seems. She took to Instagram and said that someone tried to hack her account. The actress claims that it's happening from China, and she is finding it hard to stay logged into her account.

    © Instagram/Kangana Ranaut
Kangana said in her note, "Last night I got Instagram alert as someone tried to hack my account in China, the alert disappeared suddenly, and this morning all my stories about Taliban is has disappeared. My account was disabled. After calling Instagram people I could access it, but as I try to write I am getting logged out of my account again and again."

She further said, "Took my sister's phone to do this story, as she has my account opened on her phone as well."

Kangana then called it a very 'big international conspiracy'... and said it is unbelievable.

Kangana has often lashed out and stated her views on social media platforms. After repeatedly violating Twitter's Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy, her account was suspended. She has been active on Instagram since then but said that she doesn't like it here. Kangana had also mocked Twitter back in May. She said, "Poor Twitter begging for freedom of speech, twitter the great, the unelected member of parliament, supreme justice of the world, keeper of moral compass of humanity and what is their basic qualifications or credentials to ask or forcefully acquire this power? Who are they?"

The actress has several movies lined up, including Dhaakad, Thalaivi, etc. She recently wrapped up her schedule for Dhaakad and had also posted pictures from the party. She is currently spending some family time.

A few days ago, social media site Twitter was abuzz with a trending hashtag which read #boycottradhikaapte. The reason was an old clip from her movie Parched, which randomly got viral and an intimate scene of her with fellow actor Adil Hussain came up in the controversy.

    © Parched
Looks like the trend did not die down as expected because a lot of people continue staying upset over this particular scene, which was apparently imperative to the script. In a recent interview, her co-star Adil Hussain spoke up and shared his two cents. He said that lack of education leads to stuff like this trending online and that a lot of people cannot differentiate between art and porn.

"I got to know about it a couple of days back when I saw some Google alerts. I think it’s ridiculous to troll Radhika or make a big deal about that scene. I don’t pay much attention to such things at all. I just think the only way to respond to it is, that you don’t (respond at all). There is a difference between art and porn; art is still questioned”. And so he went on calling it an issue of "lack of education" among people and that’s why such topics trend on Twitter.”
    © Instagram
The actor will now be seen in Bell Bottom which stars Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. Radhika Apte has been blamed for defaming Hindu culture and has often been trolled for her choice of movies. However, she has a stellar fan following who love her work and continue supporting her, come what may.
