    Shubman Gill has not had the best few months in the world of cricket or in terms of experimenting with his looks and after the batsman shared an Instagram reel showing his new hairdo, the trolls seemed to be unstoppable with the criticism.
    While chopping down his luscious hair, the cricketer decided to add some colour to his head but only at the top, while leaving the two sides black and unchanged. The result?

    Now, while there were a ton of celebrities like Krunal Pandya, Jassie Gill, Ranvijay Singha, Harpreet Brar hopping in the comments section of Gill’s Instagram video complimenting his daring new look, the common fans don’t seem to like this change so much.

    In terms of cricket, Gill’s luck seems to not be taking flight at the moment. After making it into the Playing XI of the Indian cricket team for the five-match Test series against England on foreign soil, Gill was sent back home before even playing a single delivery on the pitch.

    Troubled with shin splints which take a lot of time to completely recover from, Gill was ruled out for the entire tournament and since there was no point having him with the team for such a long time, the BCCI booked his flight back home.
    The earliest that Gill is now expected to be seen in action is when the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League resumes in September in the United Arab Emirates. In the first half, Shubman scored 132 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in all seven matches he played,  with his strike rate being less than 120. In last year’s edition of IPL, Shubman scored more than 400 runs in the IPL season, which was played in the UAE.

    There’s still some time left in Ravi Shastri’s tenure as the head coach of the Indian cricket team, but the speculations about who would replace him once he steps down have already been doing rounds since long. 
    Shastri’s contract is set to expire after the T20 World Cup later this year and as per reports, he has decided not to reapply for the role.
    The former Indian all-rounder has already told some cricket board members about his decision that he would move away from the national team after the showpiece event ended in November, the Indian Express reported.

    As of now, nothing has been confirmed officially as to why Shastri wants to step down but the one possible reason could be his age.  

    Shastri turned 59 in May this year and the age limit the BCCI has set for the head coach role is 60, which means even if he applies again he can’t be offered a contract beyond May 2022, unless the board decides to relax the eligibility guidelines. 
    After this year’s T20 World Cup, the Indian team has two major ICC events lined up in the next couple of years -- the T20 World Cup in Australia next year and the ODI World Cup in India the following year -- and changing a coach between such big events doesn’t make sense at all.

    While it’s too early to predict anything, many fans and experts believe that Rahul Dravid is the front-runner to take over the head coach duties from Shastri and that was the reason why he was sent to Sri Lanka as the coach of India's second-string team, where he did pretty well despite losing several of his key players during the T20 series. 

    This news has brought a big smile on the faces of a certain section of Indian supporters who have since long been waiting for Rahul Dravid to become the head coach of the senior team and they have started their celebrations already.

    Having looked after their development closely, first as the head coach of the India Under-19 and India A sides and then as the head of the National Cricket Academy, Dravid knows these players in and out and it can work in his favour.

    Rani Mukerji has recently bought a new house in Mumbai’s Khar area. After buying this new plush property, Rani is now a neighbor of Disha Patani, Tiger Shroff, and cricketers Hardik and Kunal Pandya.

    According to a report in HT, Rani has bought a 4+3 BHK apartment in a gated community which is apparently becoming a celebrity hub. The property was registered last month and has an unhampered view of the sea.
    Rani’s flat is part of a 22 storey high rise and is a 3545 sq ft 4+3 bhk apartment with an alluring sea view.
    According to reports, it is priced at Rs 7.12 crores and the building has amenities such as multiple car parking, an outdoor fitness station, an artificial rock-climbing area, and a star gazing deck.

    On the work front, Rani will be next seen in the film Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. For the shoot of the film, she has also flown out of the country to an international destination. Also, this film has come after the 2019 release Mardaani 2. The film is a production of Nikhil Advani of Emmay Entertainment and Zee Studios.
    Rani is also currently awaiting the release of the film Bunty Aur Babli 2 starring Saif Ali Khan, which has been delayed due to the pandemic.

    The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly opened their gates to fresh applications for the position of Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, which still belongs to the former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid. 
    “The Head Cricket NCA will be overall responsible for running all Cricket Coaching programs at the NCA. He will be responsible for the preparation, development and performance of all cricketers attending training at the Academy," read part of the NCA head job description on the BCCI website.
    View this post on Instagram“He will be singularly responsible for the development of emerging and youth cricketers within the male and female player development programmes who are sent to the NCA… The remit may include, but not limited to India A sides, under 23, Under 19, Under 16 team players, as well as state association players who train at the NCA and upgrade skills at the NCA," it added.
    Assuming the position of the boss man at the NCA back in July 2019, Dravid has been acknowledged to be the backbone of the massive talent pool that the Indian cricket team is currently enjoying.

    A lot of fans of the Indian cricket team were hoping to see Dravid contest for the role of the head coach of the Men in Blue, especially after his stint with the B-String that had a successful tour of Sri Lanka, at least in the ODI series before the COVID-19 virus focused the majority of the side to not participate in the final two T20I matches of their trip.
    However, Dravid remains unlikely to give Ravi Shastri a run of his money anytime soon. "I haven’t really thought anything far ahead, to be honest. I am enjoying doing what I am doing," he had said.

    Now that Xiaomi is the number 1 smartphone company in the world, it would be fair that the company will now focus on robotics. Xiaomi may have announced the Mi Mix 4, but it's also making a robotic buddy called the ‘CyberDog’. The robotic dog is an advanced mechanical pet that is along the same lines as the Boston Dynamics’ Spot.

    The CyberDog’s ‘brain’ is powered by an Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX module that has 384 CUDA cores, 48 Tensor cores, six Carmel CPU cores, and two cores dedicated for deep learning. The entire module is responsible for crunching information that the CyberDog needs to operate its 11 sensors. These sensors enable movement for the CyberDog and can even perform tricks like a backflip. The CyberDog can also track “high-speed movements” at up to 3.2m/s (11.5 km/h or 7.15 mph).

    There are several cameras on the robot’s body that includes an Intel RealSense D450 depth sensor for accurate tracking. The camera is also used to avoid real-world obstacles, follow its owner and avoid pitfalls.

    The CyberDog can also detect voices and can be activated using a wake word. The CyberDog also supports other types of voice commands and digital voice assistants. In addition, the CyberDog also has three USB-C ports and an HDMI port. The ports can be used by developers for testing new code, add-on hardware and other development purposes.

    The CyberDog isn’t really available to everyone and is more of a prototype for developers and engineers to test on. Xiaomi will make 1,000 CyberDogs available to engineers, enthusiasts, and fans to start its own open-source robotics program. Xiaomi will be selling the CyberDog for 9,999 yuan or Rs 1.14 lakh at the moment. 

    Xiaomi did not disclose whether the CyberDog will be available to the public anytime soon and the initial rollout will be very limited. For now, we’re just astonished at what the CyberDog can do and how the company plans to advance its robotics program.

    No matter how ridiculous it may seem to some people, but regional films, especially from down south have their own base in the Hindi speaking areas of the country. As a result, the dubbing rights for these films are often lucrative. But just how lucrative are they exactly?

    Well, the father and son duo of Chiranjeevi & Ram Charan recently sold the dubbing rights of one of their upcoming films for a record Rs 26 Crores.

    Trade Analysts and industry experts say that regional films, specifically from the Tamil & Telugu film industries mainly started getting dubbed in Hindi since 2010-2011 when Allu Arjun & Nagarjuna started to sell the dubbing rights for their films. Back then, a movie’s dubbing right would be sold for about Rs 10-15 Lakhs depending on the local box office performance of the film.

    Now though, the craze among Hindi-speaking audiences for the films of certain southern stars is so high, that dubbing rights are often sold way before the launch of a film. Chiranjeevi & Ram Charan’s ‘Acharya’ is just one example.

    What is unprecedented though is the money that such films make, just from their dubbing rights. As per sources, the dubbing rights for Acharya will be sold for at least Rs 21 Crores, with another 5 Crores in reserve, which will depend on certain undisclosed contingencies.

    Another aspect that has led to such a meteoric price hike for the dubbing rights of southern films is the fact that now many production and distribution houses, which normally operated in the Hindi speaking part of the country, have started investing in the southern film industry.

    Speaking to the The Times Of India, Vijay Kumar, who brokered the deal between the production house & a Hindi film producer who took on the dubbing rights, said that the reason why such deals are happening now is because of a dearth of good content.

    “There is a growing demand for content for the Hindi speaking audience, and one of the reasons could be that not enough good content is being produced by the Hindi film industry. This is an advantage for regional cinema from the South,” said Kumar.

    The thing is, many actors don’t get that much money for projects. Heck, an amateur filmmaker can make a proper feature film using that much money.
