August 7, 2021 will forever be etched in our minds as Neeraj Chopra won the Men's Javelin Gold in Olympics and inspired every citizen of the country. He is the new poster boy of Indian sports after making history at the Tokyo Olympics.
Lalit Bhanot, the Chairman of Athletics Federation of India's (AFI) Planning Committee, on Tuesday said they will stage javelin throwing competitions every year on August 7.
#JavelinThrow @afiindia to stage #Javelin competition every year on August 7 to honour @Neeraj_chopra1

On August 7, #NeerajChopra became the first athlete from the country to win a gold in track and field in the @Olympics

“Athletics Federation of India's planning committee has decided to further promote javelin throwing and will hold competitions every year throughout the country on August 7 as Neeraj Chopra won the gold in Tokyo on this day," Bhanot said in a felicitation program organized for Neeraj Chopra by the AFI.

Neeraj must be more than happy that finally, Javelin as a sport, has also gotten the much-needed recognition and many more youngsters will try the sport now.
In the felicitation ceremony, Neeraj was asked about his big achievement and he said, “This gold medal is not only mine but also belongs to India. I didn't eat and sleep well after winning the gold medal. The competition was very tough at the Olympics. After qualification, I realized this is the best opportunity of my life and I'll not lose it.”
He also added, “I just want to say, no matter who the opposition is, give your best. That is all you need to do and this is what this gold medal stands for. Never fear the opposition.”
Neeraj became only the second individual Olympic champion from independent India. He ended India’s 13-year-long wait for the national anthem at the medal ceremony in the Olympics.
For making it big in Olympics, he even chopped off his long hair. Talking about it, said, “I like long hair but I was getting irritated by the heat, long hair causes a lot of sweating. So I got a haircut. I have kept long hair since I was 9-10 years old, but of late, it started to bug me. In a couple of competitions, it was causing me to sweat, and it was dripping onto my eyes. I tried using a hairband also, but it would fall off.”

“So I thought that it’s the Olympics, style baad mei ho jaayega, game pehle (style can come later, the game comes first),” he added.
We are proud of you, Neeraj.

    "Haaaave you met…..Ted?"
This phrase from Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother made him the best wingman we have known. But we also have some desi characters in Bollywood who are just as good and are a pro in finding a girl for their bro.
    © CBS
Every guy needs a wingman, whether it is to woo your ‘bachpan ka pyaar’ or that cute girl whojust walked in while you and your buddy are in a bar.

Bollywood has already set the bar real high with some expert wingmen that it has given us.
    © Dharma Productions
And, not just male best friends, we have seen female friends, daughters and even furry friends playing the best wingman to their friends in movies.

    © Dharma Productions
From Pappi Ji to Pluto Mehra, here are 5 Bollywood characters who you wish could be your wingman too:

    1. Pappi (Tanu Weds Manu Returns) © Eros International
From faking a heart attack in the seminar to almost getting his ass kicked by the girl’s family, Pappi stood by Manu like a rock and proved to be the best wingman for him. He even went on a  double date only to have his heartbroken.

    2. Aman (Kal Ho Na Ho) © Dharma Productions
Aman took it upon himself to set up Naina (who loved him BTW) and her best friend Rohit because he knew Rohit was in love with her.

He comes up with a 6-day plan (which was actually insulting to women worldwide) but when Naina finds out, he does damage control by telling her how much Rohit loves her. And, he does it despite being in love with Naina himself.
    3. Pluto Mehra (Dil Dhadakne Do) © Excel Entertainment
A dog is a man’s best friend and can also be his wingman. Pluto, the dog (character voiced by Aamir Khan) played his hooman Kabir Mehra’s ultimate and most adorable wingman.

He also wants Ayesha (Priyanka Chopra) and Sunny (Farhan Akhtar) to patch things up and reconcile. If only he could talk and actually nudge them to do so.
    4. Circuit (Lage Raho Munna Bhai) © Vinod Chopra Productions
There is no friend as loyal as Circuit in the entire history of Bollywood as he can literally do anything for his ‘bhai’.

While he is a handyman and henchman in the first film of the series, he becomes his wingman in the next who makes sure Munna Bhai gets the girl he is crushing on.
He lies, fights and does not bat an eye before even kidnapping just for his bro.
    5. Anjali (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) © Dharma Productions
Rahul may have been the coolest guy in college who could woo any girl but he definitely lost his game once he got married.

When he met his ex-BFF Anjali years later, he was all awkward and shy. Good that his daughter Anjali had a master plan already in place to get the older Anjali to fall in love with him again. Otherwise, he would have never gotten her, especially with Salman Khan in the picture.

‘F**kbboi’, ‘heart-breaker’, ‘serial-dater’, ‘player’, ‘womanizer’ are all pretty demeaning yet widely used adjectives that are doled out for men left, right and centre.
In fact, even before someone gets to know them it is simply believed that a man comes with an inherent instinct of being a jerk or someone who would be in it only to 'fling it'.
    © Voltage Pictures
And even though a lot of women out there may have actually encountered a few Casanovas in their dating history, including myself, it is just wrong to assume that every man comes with a one-track mind.

After all, one bad fish doesn’t necessarily have to dirty the entire pond.
Men are more than just about what is on the surface and it’s time that certain misconceptions were thrown as far as Neeraj Chopra’s javelin at the Olympics.
    Here are some of them:
    1. 'Men Are All About ***' © Eros International
The saying, as far as I remember, is, ‘everything in this world is about ***’, and it doesn’t just pertain to men.

If anything, men are just more vocal and upfront about their intentions as opposed to women, which is often misconstrued for their interest being limited to just the act. When in reality, men too are emotional and not just *** machines.
    2. 'Men Are Selfish Lovers' © iStock
For everyone who thinks men are only about receiving and never reciprocating, probably have had a run-in with a bad lot, because men, in general, take a lot of pride in being the one to help their partner achieve an orgasm.

They might care for their orgasm, but they also make plenty of efforts to make their partner feel equally satisfied. Who did you think came up with ‘69’?
    3. Committed Men Who Watch Porn Aren’t 'Serious' © iStock
Okay, first things first - porn doesn’t equate to cheating.

Many men watch porn for the purpose of masturbation and last we checked, masturbation was healthy to keep the hormones in check.
Yes, an addiction to anything is bad, but accusing men of being unfulfilled in their relationships if they watch porn is simply a myth that needs to be busted. It simply acts as a catalyst to a process.
    4. 'Men Don’t Like Using Protection' © iStock
Possibly one of the biggest misconceptions that has found its way to us maybe because of the pleasure that women assume men get when they’re having unprotected ***.

But in reality, there is no one more paranoid about using protection than men simply because they wouldn’t want to be tied down with the responsibilities of an unplanned or unwanted kid.
And to make sure that doesn’t happen, they’d always prefer to be safe than sorry.
    5. 'Men Are Turned On Only When They Have An Erection' © iStock
Yes, an erection is a glowing symbol of judging whether or not your partner is into you and turned on, but a lot of times, a man may not get an erection despite having the hots for you.

Just like how a woman, at times, runs through a dry spell no matter how turned on she might be. Hence, an erection shouldn’t be the only factor to take into consideration when judging your partner’s drive for you.

The Samsung M7 Smart Monitor may just be the ultimate display panel made for professionals, gamers and people who don’t necessarily have enough room for a TV. I’ve always wanted a monitor that can do everything my Samsung Smart TV can and the company finally answered all my prayers.
The Samsung Smart Monitor M7 is a worthy screen to get your display for your computer, for your gaming console or for your graphic design needs. It’s the display that everyone needs in their room especially after the lockdown. Getting a Smart TV is neither feasible nor affordable for everyone which is why the M7 Smart Monitor is perfect for all types of users.
What Are Its Features and SpecificationsThe 32-inch Smart Monitor has a resolution of 4K UHD (3840 x 2160), a VA panel and has apps pre-installed such as Netflix, Amazon Prime amongst others. The display has a refresh rate of 60Hz, ports for HDMI, HDMI ARC and USB-C. Lastly, the monitor also has adaptive brightness that can go up to 250 nits.
    © Samsung
The display is perfect for all kinds of scenarios thanks to these specifications. You can even hook up a home theatre if you want via HDMI ARC. The 60Hz VA Panel is also great for gaming especially if you are using it on current-generation consoles. For PS5 and Xbox Series X users, I would recommend this monitor to gamers who prefer playing single-player games. If you prefer to play competitively. You’re better off getting Samsung’s G7 Odyssey.

The USB-C port is also one of the more versatile ports you will find on any monitor right now. You can use it to transmit data and even use it as a DP signal source. If you have a keyboard with you can connect that to any of three additional USB ports at the back. You can even charge your smartphone up to 65W via the port which is great for users with modern smartphones that support PD charging.
    © Samsung
You can even connect Samsung phones to launch the DeX mode. If you prefer a wireless experience, the monitor works natively with a Samsung phone to unlock a full PC DeX experience wirelessly. You can do conference calls, use productivity apps, browse the internet all by using a Samsung smartphone. You can even mirror your Samsung smartphone if you want as long as you’re on the same network.

Entertainment Apps  On the M7 Smart Monitor, you can use any of the apps that are also available on Samsung TVs. You can use apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, Youtube and other apps that you can find on the Tizen app store. The monitor also supports AirPlay 2 for iPhone and iPad uses who would like to mirror video content from their devices.
    © Samsung
Finally, much like Samsung’s Smart TVs, the Smart Monitor also comes with a remote that works exactly like they do with their Televisions. Not many monitors come with remotes which gives the Samsung M7 a leg up over the competition. You can easily launch apps, switch to different input sources and control the volume just like you would on a TV. The remote also comes with a microphone that you can use to control apps via Bixby. However, I would have like an Ethernet port at the back for streaming 4K content that can be a bit tedious to use on WiFi.

Display Quality The Samsung M7 Smart Monitor’s display is great for showing bright and vivid colours. The colours pop especially in games like Fortnite and Persona 5 Royal. Samsung has used very a high-grade VA panel here that comes very close to my IPS monitor’s quality. The image colour contrast is also on-point where in some TV shows and games, the darker backgrounds look very dark.
    © Samsung
4K videos and movies on Netflix and Youtube looked incredibly sharp and crisp which I did not expect. I did have my reservations since Samsung is using a VA panel here however I was glad I was proved wrong. For content viewers, you will also be happy to know that the display supports HDR10 content. The monitor doesn’t come with a dedicated DP port which means you can only connect your desktop via the HDMI port and desktop/laptop users might find this a bit disappointing. This essentially means that all of your gaming needs are reliant on the HDMI 2.0 port which isn’t as preferable as the DP port.

Audio QualityMost monitors have trash speakers and that remains consistent even with expensive ones. However, the M7 Smart Monitor have some of the best speakers I’ve used on a monitor. Audio quality is quite clear and loud enough for you to watch movies and TV shows. However, if you do want to experience better sound, You can use Bluetooth or HDMI ARC to connect to audio devices. the smart monitor does not come with a 3.5mm audio jack which makes it a bit complicated to connect desktop speakers and wired headphones which in my opinion is a lost opportunity.
The Final Say The Samsung M7 Smart Monitor is ideally for workaholics who want to take a break from their work and watch something entertaining. It does a lot of things right but also sacrifices a few features that can be a bit baffling. Overall, the M7 Smart Monitor does a great job at bringing entertainment to your desk and has enough smart features for both Samsung and Apple users.
