Coming from different places, speaking different tongues, and having different tastes in movies, music and books, and whatnot, we might not agree on a lot of things in life.

However, one thing which is probably universal and almost all would agree on, is that snakes, the long, slithering, hissing reptiles are f***ing terrifying.

Facing them in real life would be an absolute nightmare and I figure that almost all of us might have contemplated on how one would escape the scary creatures, if we ever were to, unfortunately, come across it in real life.

Well, it happened with an elderly man in Bihar just recently. And let's just say that things really didn't end well. Actually, that would be an understatement.
The whole episode was absolutely bizarre!
What happened was that 65-year-old Rama Mahtro, a resident of Bihar's Nalanda district was going about his day last Saturday evening when he was suddenly bitten by a snake.

Now, if this was any of us, we'd be absolutely losing our s*** and rushing to the hospital.

However, the incident left Rama so angry that he picked the snake up and started biting the snake, only to later chew the reptile whole.
Yeah, disgusting, right? Well, unfortunate too. Turns out, Rama died later. How? Intoxication. (Out of all the bizarre things, this was pretty unexpected).
Rama had come home just before leaving what remained of the snake on a small tree outside his house.
Well, after hearing the incident, his family members told him to get to the hospital for treatment. However, the daredevil that Rama was, he didn't listen and said that there was no risk of poisoning.
However, later on, Sunday, Rama was found unconscious on his bed by his family members, who then rushed him to the nearby hospital.
Unfortunately for them, he was brought dead and his family members were left heartbroken.
It truly is a bizarre and tragic incident but sure teaches one that it's best to just rush to the nearest hospital after a snake bite...and not to bite the snake back because of it.

When it comes to talking about the performance of Jasprit Bumrah in Test cricket, the Indian cricket fraternity gets divided into two halves.
    View this post on Instagram
The first half feels that the paceman’s time at the peak of red-ball cricket is already over and that it may be time for the Team India selectors to start looking for other options. The second half believes that 27-year-old is nowhere near the end playing the most gruelling format of them all and feels that he can provide for his team despite his various shortcomings and injuries.
As a result, every time the unorthodox bowler enters the ground, the supporters of the Men in Blue look at him with a raised eyebrow. So when Bumrah ended up taking nine wickets across the two innings of the first Test match against England on foreign soil, it was time for the haters to get a message.
    Still don't need you. pic.twitter.com/2hdgy5CACY
    — Jasprit Bumrah (@Jaspritbumrah93) August 9, 2021
While sharing a couple of pictures from the Trent Bridge match, Bumrah added a caption to his tweet, which many agree was very aggressive and uncharacteristic of him. “Still don’t need you,” he wrote on his post.
With just four words, Bumrah has managed to rile up a good bunch of his haters and took no time to jump on the criticism-train and start bashing the bowler’s online message.
Yeah because performing against this shitty English team on a basically worthless match is gonna cover up for your bottling on the most important test match you have ever played. https://t.co/Uc3fclYPkp
    — Ajay (@ItsAjaySubedi) August 10, 2021That's it now he won't perform in the remaining matches https://t.co/usoJZK4DOu
    — Rahul Pathak (@Rahulpathak_31) August 10, 2021Yes, retire ho ja Ambani ka boot polish wala https://t.co/Cxr8tlbWW8
    — मा. राजू काळे (@therajukale) August 9, 2021Bumrah ko bhi ego? Gajab hai yar.

Kya raddi team ban chuki hai. Ek se ke ego wale bhare pade hai. https://t.co/GI6l4OkB01
    — Abhishek (@AwadhiGuy) August 9, 2021Sometimes, it does get to your head & you feel 'answerable' to your critics. Ideally, would have been good for him to stay in a bubble & let his bowling do the talk. If he had to, should've atleast waited for 2nd test to be over to enjoy this drama unfold with a tub of popcorn https://t.co/C2u8LctvH7
    — Ashish Shahpur (@ashishshahpur) August 9, 2021Recently, Bumrah’s biggest downfall as the presumed leader of the Indian bowler attack came during the World Test Championship final against Kane Williamson’s New Zealand squad at the Ageas Bowl at Southampton.
Albeit playing in extremely testing weather conditions with an unforgiving pitch, the Ahmedabad-born failed to scalp even a single wicket throughout his time on the ground and was heavily criticised for being practically ineffective against the Black Caps.

So when the pacer showed results and took a bunch of good wickets, including opener Rory Burns for a duck in the first innings and the English skipper and centurion Joe Root in the second innings, it was obvious that the media would look at it as a comeback.
However, his teammate and the most successful batsman for Virat Kohli in the first Test, KL Rahul did not agree with that analogy.

"I don't know why you are saying that Bumrah has made a comeback," said Rahul in the press conference when asked about Bumrah's good show. "Every time, in every game, in every condition he has proved himself and he is our number one bowler. We are happy that he is doing what he is (has) been doing since he started playing Test cricket."
"Wherever he has played, he has been a match-winner for us. We are happy that he has done once again, what he does best," Rahul added.

Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra is probably one of the more impressive phones that launched in India this year. It’s the ultimate flagship smartphone in our opinion, and Xiaomi India will be giving away a free Mi 11 Ultra to every Indian Olympic medalist.
    © Reuters
The Mi 11 Ultra is not exactly a cheap phone and is one of the most bankable devices today thanks to the sheer specifications it boasts of. Now, Xiaomi India’s Manu Kumar Jain has announced that India’s 2020 Olympic medalists will receive the phone for making the country proud.

"We value the grit & dedication that it takes to win an Olympics medal. As a small gesture of thanks, we'll humbly gift a Mi 11 Ultra to all the Indian Olympic medal winners. Superphone for Super Heroes. You make us proud,” he said on Twitter.

However, not everyone will be getting the Mi 11 Ultra as Jain announced that the company will be giving the Mi 11X to the men’s hockey team. The Mi 11X is the Ultra’s cheaper brethren that also comes with impressive specifications. It is powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset, has a 12-Hz FHD+ OLED display and a 48MP+8MP+5MP rear camera system.

To put things into perspective, the Mi 11 Ultra boasts the best hardware you can find in a smartphone right now. It is powered by a Snapdragon 888 chipset, 120Hz QHD+ OLED display, a 1.1-inch rear display, and a 50MP+48MP+48MP rear camera setup. This is also the first smartphone by Xiaomi that comes with an IP68 rating. The Mi 11 Ultra costs around Rs 70,000 while the Mi 11X costs Rs 30,000.
    © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The Mi 11 Ultra is Xiaomi’s first flagship phone that costs more than anything else the company has released in the country. In our review, we said that the smartphone is worth the price tag and is “by far the most unique looking smartphone launched in 2021.” The phone also comes with a massive 5,000 mAh battery that can be fast-charged at 67W (wired and wireless).

What do you think of Xiaomi India’s gesture towards the Olympic medal winners? Some would be saving a cool Rs 70,000 while the men’s hockey team will be saving Rs 30,000. All we can say is that it definitely pays to be an Olympic medal winner.

In his speech, he said, “This gold medal is not only mine but also belongs to India. I didn't eat and sleep well after winning the gold medal. The competition was very tough at the Olympics. After qualification, I realized this is the best opportunity of my life and I'll not lose it.”

He went on to add, “I knew I had done something special, and actually, I thought I had achieved my personal best. The throw had gone really well. The next day my body felt how special it was with all the pain but it was worth it.”
He also had a message for all his countrymen and people who were inspired by his win. He said, “I just want to say, no matter who the opposition is, give your best. That is all you need to do and this is what this gold medal stands for. Never fear the opposition.”
After people saw his speech, they all were in awe of his humility and grounded persona. People asked him to stay the same person as he is right now even after the fame he is getting and also asked him to stay away from Bollywood.

Neeraj was also asked the reason behind chopping his long mane. Replying to it in a lighter vein, he said, “I like long hair but I was getting irritated by the heat, long hair causes a lot of sweating. So I got a haircut. I have kept long hair since I was 9-10 years old, but of late, it started to bug me. In a couple of competitions, it was causing me to sweat, and it was dripping onto my eyes. I tried using a hairband also, but it would fall off.”

“So I thought that it’s the Olympics, style baad mei ho jaayega, game pehle (style can come later, the game comes first),” the javelin star added.

When Shakespeare said ‘What’s in a name’, he didn’t know that centuries later names could spell havoc amidst communities and divide people on their communal and political views.

It is not unknown that the Mughal history’s influence on our country is evident in literally everything and the Mughal emperors, starting from Babur to Aurangzeb, hold a different meaning for different religious sects in the nation.
If you happened to be on Twitter this morning, then maybe you saw #jehangir trending all over social media. Turns out, it is not some political campaign or a new show on some OTT platform, but in fact that’s the real name of celebrity couple Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s second baby boy.
    View this post on Instagram
In her recently released book, she mentioned the name Jehangir of her second baby boy. Until now, it was assumed that he was named Jeh and post this revelation, it has caused quite an unrest on social media.
So Taimur ki Ammi is now Jehangir ki Ammi too. If Saif loves history so much, why doesn't he name his son Changez? It would go smooth with his last name!?
    — The Jaipur Dialogues (@JaipurDialogues) August 9, 2021As if Taimur didn’t create enough controversy now they name the other one Jehangir.

    — Curly Jeevi (@curlykrazy07) August 10, 2021 A lot of people were quick to share a History lesson reminder for how Jehangir’s name is associated with Indian history and why the name reminds one of dark times.
Those who are celebrating a name #Taimur and #jehangir from #FarmersProtest, here is a gift for you.

    — BOB (The Builder) (@ManofGratitude) August 10, 2021hahaha Jehangir, terr@rist murderer who killed a lot of people, what's wrong with these people they are keeping their son name as same as that murderer who killed a lot of Hindu as well as Sikh #SaifAliKhan #KareenaKapoorKhan #jehangir #taimur pic.twitter.com/jrw2gSvXyE
    — Sujit Gupta (@DevastatorSujit) August 10, 2021Jehangir executed Guru Arjan Dev.

Guru Arjan Dev established Harmandir Sahib & the city of Amritsar (the Holiest pilgrimage for Sikhs).

Kapoors being originally from Punjab, wouldn't have dawned the fact on the actress. #Irony https://t.co/8OtGc0Fpl5
    — Vikrant ~ विक्रांत (@vikrantkumar) August 10, 2021 Many were convinced that the couple loves History a lot, and hence their sons have historical names.
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan named their second son as 'Jeh' short for Jehangir.

    Now I'm waiting for Aurangzeb
    — Tanu Rawat (@_Saffron_girl_) August 10, 2021And Jehangir's son will be Shahryar Mirza aka Shah Jahan and so forth. The Mughal dynasty will continue at least in Bollywood. A telling sign of state of our film industry. We need an alternate. For the time OTT is good enough.
    — Mohini (@Mohini0105) August 10, 2021#KareenaKapoorKhan and #SaifAliKhan will rewrite Mughal history by their own hands.
First #taimur and now #Jehangir. We are hoping for #Akbar, #Aurangzeb and #SehrSahaSuri also........

Anyway, Congrats toh bantah hain pic.twitter.com/YXSION4asR
    — 𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐊𝐈 𝐆𝐔𝐏𝐓𝐀 (@NIKKIGU45473309) August 10, 2021 When their first child was named Taimur , even that had become a reason for major unrest for a lot of Indians. Names and their associated histories can stir up some emotions which are sometimes hard to fathom. Here’s hoping that a baby, who is not even a year old, is saved from being trolled.

Kareena Kapoor is now a mother of two -- Taimur and Jeh -- with her husband Saif Ali Khan. She recently revealed details about her pregnancy in a chat with Karan Johar while launching her debut book ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible’.
She expressed that she faced a loss of her *** drive when she was pregnant and how Saif Ali Khan was extremely understanding about it.
Karan asked Kareena, “You yourself spoke about how you lost your *** drive and your husband was very understanding through those days. What are the notions that surround *** life during a woman’s pregnancy and what does a woman feel herself?”
    View this post on Instagram
She expressed that it is extremely important for a man to be supportive in such a situation and not pressure the woman to look a certain way.

Kareena further elaborated, “People just feel like… When you are pregnant, they don’t realize the kind of moods, emotions, feelings, what you actually feel about yourself. That’s so important. Some days, I would feel super amazing and sexy and feel ‘oh my God, I am looking so hot with this belly’ and I feel amazing, and I would tell Saif that or he would say, ‘You are looking beautiful.”
    View this post on Instagram
She added, “But there were times post-six-seven months where I felt like… Of course, I was exhausted and I couldn’t get myself to get up sometimes in the morning. But sometimes, it’s just a feeling of repulsion. You are just in a mental state when you don’t know what to think. It’s so important to have a supportive man and most men should not put pressure on their wives to a) look beautiful while they are pregnant and b) feel they are any less. That pressure shouldn’t be there or like ‘this is it, our regular *** life has to be super-active.”

“It has to be according to what the woman feels and what she is feeling at that minute. If your husband doesn’t understand that, then how can he be the father of your child? He has to love you in every form. It’s a topic that I have written about in the book because most women feel scared to talk about it,” she said.
