A few years ago, I joined a new workplace. I was driven by excitement, passion and ambition in equal parts, however, over time, I was unable to muster up the energy to do my day to day duties.
It stemmed from the fact that I had been overworked for months at stretch, even working on weekends, without any rest. We were 24x7 at the disposal of the company and our clients. Saying yes to every project that came our way.
So, it wasn’t too long before my perennial exhaustion gave way to cynicism and I found myself demotivated to perform my tasks.
I realized this familiar feeling was something all my colleagues had been going through as well. Our once joyful faces had been replaced by persistently stressed expressions.
That’s when I stumbled upon the concept of burnout.
What Is Burnout When you’re stuck in a job that chronically overwhelms you to the point that you’re always exhausted, and you start detaching from your responsibilities as a way of dealing with this unaddressed stress, chances are you’re probably on your way to a burnout.
Here are 5 signs that show you might be experiencing burnout:
1. Always Exhausted © iStock
One of the first observable signs of burnout is perennial exhaustion.
While it’s normal to feel exhausted from time to time, if it becomes a constant state for you, chances are you’re not addressing certain issues causing you to feel this way.
2. Demotivated © iStock
Are there things that you once enjoyed doing but just can’t get yourself to do them anymore? A strong sense of demotivation usually accompanies burnout.
3. Bad Lifestyle Habits © iStock
Sometimes, when stress at work gets to us, we resort to various coping mechanisms like binging on junk foods, coffee, alcohol, and even narcotic substances.
Naturally, our sleep pattern gets impacted as well. The influence of stress on poor lifestyle habits is grave and should be carefully considered.
4. Isolation © iStock
You find yourself to be more comfortable when alone, after all, you feel like no one else can really relate to you anymore. Or you just want to avoid all social contact.
This can often lead to you being angry and irritated when someone tries to communicate with you. This happens because socialising now makes you anxious.
5. Pessimism & Self Doubt © iStock
Do you have constantly negative self-talk going on when it comes to your work?
Looking forward to the weekend is normal, but if somehow, you feel the only time you can escape these negative thoughts, that are pessimistic in nature, are on the weekends, then there are chances that your work might be causing you to be burnt out.
If your work isn’t fulfilling, and you feel the only parts of it that you associate with are related to low productivity and poor performance, then it’s time to consider having a conversation with yourself about your long term goals and the benefits of staying at your current job.
We often put in long hours and keep ourselves chronically busy to fill a hole in our lives. Don’t fall into that trap.

Men landing in the friend-zone while trying to woo their crush isn’t something unheard of. It happens. Most women have their priorities clear and they don’t think twice before keeping their admirers in the most dreaded zone of a budding relationship.
However, men have their priorities too, you know. And, turns out, some bravehearts have friend-zoned their ladylove because they refused to compromise on things that are important for them.
© Yash Raj Films
It may not be about looks or how much they are earning but things like music, food and movies that men take really seriously.
It might sound funny but, if Joey Tribbiani from Friends could end a relationship because the girl wanted fries, it is only obvious that men IRL too would rather keep their distance from women who don’t see eye to eye with their favourite anime character or food choices than giving in for a lifetime.

So, if you have ever murdered your chances of getting a girlfriend by friend-zoning her for a silly reason, you are not alone.
The hashtag #friendzoned was trending on Twitter India yesterday as desis were sharing funny things they got friend-zoned for or deliberately friend-zoned someone, because honestly, there are some things that are more important to us than anything in the world.
© Dharma Productions
What is the silliest thing you have friend-zoned a woman for? The men on Twitter have some really funny and genuine reasons.
Here are the best ones that might crack you up but feel too real for a reason to friendzone a person when you think about it:
I love chaap, she loves pizza #friendzoned

I said phir hera pheri, she said radhe #friendzoned

I said “Jihne Mera Dil Lutya”
She didn’t say “Oh Ho”#friendzoned

I asked Welcome ya Hera Pheri
She said Twilight#friendzoned pic.twitter.com/miOL7kzaxw
— Nalla Bhai (@bhai_nalla) July 21, 2021
Do these sound like legit reasons to let your crush go? We think they are.
You definitely cannot spend a lifetime with a person who doesn’t have similar taste in songs and movies as you.
You don’t want to fight every time you have a Netflix binge date. Do you? Also, if her food choices don’t match yours, you know what to do. #friendzoned

PS., what kind of a person doesn’t say “Oh ho” after someone says “Jinhe Mera Dil Luteya” at them? Friendzone is exactly where they belong!

fantastic option
OnePlus has been expanding its horizons in the budget and mid-segment smartphone market with impressive offerings in the form of Nord smartphones. The latest entry in the series is exactly that by offering everything you need from a smartphone. While it doesn’t exactly offer the same experience as its flagship smartphones, it sure does come close. Here’s what I think about using the OnePlus Nord 2 after using it for a week:
Design and Display © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The OnePlus Nord 2 take some obvious influences from the 9 series as it almost emulates the same design aesthetics. Its camera module looks identical while the Blue Haze colour variant looks like a smaller version of the 9 Pro. Having said that, it does not have the same build quality as the flagship phones but it’s sure more premium than the Nord CE. It’s noticeably lighter and smaller in size which I feel is the perfect size for any smartphone.
What makes the Nord 2 stand out is its obvious OnePlus design influence. Unlike the Nord CE, the Nord 2 does have a notification slider, a staple feature of OnePlus phones. The phone does not have a headphone jack which sort of confuses me as its cheaper brethren offers one. Overall, there’s not much of a difference in design when compared to the OnePlus 9 Series which is good news for customers who are looking to purchase a cheaper OnePlus device.
© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
As for the display, the Nord 2 is using the same display as the Nord CE where it uses a 6.43-inch 1080p OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also has a punch-hole on the top left corner for the 32MP selfie camera. Overall, the display’s quality is on the same level as the Nord CE which indicates exactly where the company cut costs.
While the display itself offers great vibrant colours and sharpness, I can’t help but notice that it is an inferior display quality to the competition. It’s still good enough for viewing video content and daily internet browsing. The display is good enough for casually watch movies and TV shows on OTT apps and has incredible response time in games. While I would have preferred a higher-grade display on the Nord 2, it still gets the job done.
The other contesting factor is that the display only offers up to 90Hz refresh rate which is a step down when considering the competition. Other phones that cost about the same or even less offer a 120Hz refresh rate display.
Performance © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The Nord 2 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset which is not exactly a Qualcomm flagship chipset. OnePlus was recently found throttling its smartphones and the same will also be applied to the Nord 2 as well. This means that we can’t entirely be sure about the smartphone’s real-life performance as it whitelists benchmark apps for high performance. Since OnePlus optimises its smartphones, do note that you will not be taking full advantage of the Nord 2’s capabilities. This is the reason why I will not be sharing any benchmark scores in this review as it is not truthfully representative of the smartphone’s peak performance.
© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
Having said that, while using the smartphone, it was pleasantly fast to use with swift animations and lag-free navigation. The smartphone does handle most apps with ease without sacrificing too much battery. Even the GPU performance of the Nord 2 exceeded my expectations and managed to handle Genshin Impact with ease. There were some noticeable frame rate drops here and there but the Nord 2 can easily handle less graphic intensive games like BGMI.
In terms of battery life, the Nord 2’s 4,500 mAh battery can easily last through an entire day of moderate usage. I got some 5.5 hours of screen-on-time which is at par with other smartphones that feature the same battery size. The phone does support WarpCharge 6 which means I can fully charge the device in about 32 minutes. Since this is a mid-segment device, the Nord 2 does not have support for wireless charging as that feature is reserved for the OnePlus 9 Pro.
CamerasThe OnePlus Nord 2 has a triple rear camera setup that uses a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor which you can also find on the OnePlus 9 Pro. While the hardware might the same, you do not get the same tuning from Hasselblad as the flagship devices. There’s also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. At the front, you will find a 32-megapixel selfie camera that can take wide shots or group photos.
© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
In most use cases, the Nord 2 delivered decent images with great sharpness. However, the phone does overly tune the images that sometimes do not reflect true colours. Some images have a warmer tone than usual which can be off-putting if you want colour accuracy. Night Mode also works effectively well and is as good if not better than the OnePlus 9Series.
© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The ultra-wide sensor is a bit disappointing to use as it does not replicant the same vibrant colours as the primary sensory. Images look less sharp due to the lower resolution and colours aren’t accurate either. OnePlus will probably fix the performance of the ultra-wide sensor in a future update however it is hard to say right now when that would happen.
Here are some camera samples to know more about Nord 2’s imaging capabilities:
Software Experience OnePlus phones are known to offer a great software experience and the Nord 2 is the first phone to offer OxygenOS 11.3 out of the box. It is also the first phone that is using the ColorOS codebase which felt slightly different from the usual OxygenOS experience. Several settings have been renamed while some apps have a completely different look as well.
It seems like OnePlus is currently confused about which OS to lean more towards and right the Nord 2 feels like a work in progress product in terms of the software experience. It will be interesting to see how OnePlus’ partnership with OPPO will turn out especially on the software side as the future does look bright. The Nord 2 will be getting two years of updates and three years of security updates although we don’t know how the frequency will be at the moment.
The Final Say The OnePlus Nord 2 is a fantastic option to consider if you are looking for a mid-segment device that offers everything you need. With decent cameras, reliable performance and a slightly more premium design than the Nord SE, the Nord 2 is a great device to consider in 2021.

With less than two weeks to go for the start of the opening Test against England, two more Indian players were ruled out of the entire series due to injuries.
Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan suffered injuries during the three-day warm-up game against County Select XI in Durham.
Sundar fractured his finger after getting hit by a Mohammad Siraj bouncer on Day 2, while Khan got injured on the opening day of the practice game.
Earlier, opener Shubman Gill was the first player to be ruled out and with these two injuries, only 21 players are left in India’s Test squad.
© AP
Sundar and Khan were not expected to feature in the playing XI but Gill would’ve definitely started the opening Test in Nottingham had he been fit.
After Gill’s injury, skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri had asked for Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Padikkal as replacements but their request was denied by the selectors.
The situation has worsened since then and the selectors are not left with any choice but to send replacements as soon as possible.
Let’s take a look at potential replacements who might board the UK flight in the coming days:
1. Prithvi Shaw © Instagram/Prithvi Shaw
Since being dropped from India’s Test squad in December last year, Shaw has scored tons of runs in domestic cricket -- albeit in the limited-overs format.
He carried on the same form in international cricket and blasted 43 off just 24 balls in the series opener against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
He is the front-runner to join the Indian team in England as Gill’s replacement.
2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar © Instagram/Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is arguably the best swing bowler in the country who is capable of swinging the ball both ways and the lack of a genuine swing bowler in the WTC final came back to haunt India badly.
It’s time that the selectors and management realise their mistake and send Bhuvi to England as Avesh Khan’s replacement.
3. Deepak Chahar View this post on Instagram
Deepak Chahar makes up for his lack of pace by swinging the ball both ways just like Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
India have always been afraid of exposing their tail-enders and it was the reason why they went in with two spin-bowling all-rounders in the WTC final, despite heavy overcast conditions.
His recent heroics against Sri Lanka make him an ideal replacement for both Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar as he can contribute with both bat and ball.
4. Priyank Panchal © Instagram/Priyank Panchal
Another player whose name has been doing rounds is Priyank Panchal.
The right-handed batsman from Gujarat has dominated the domestic circuit like no one else but the tough competition at the top of the order has kept him from realising his dream of earning an India Test cap.
If selectors decide to not disturb those playing in Sri Lanka, Panchal could be the perfect choice to take Gill’s place in the squad.
5. Jaydev Unadkat © Instagram/Jaydev Unadkat
Despite picking up a record-breaking 67 wickets in the 2020 Ranji Trophy season as Saurashtra won their maiden title, Unadkat wasn’t named even in the reserves for the England tour.
The Porbandar-born pacer has done whatever he could to warrant a place in India’s Test squad. The ball now is in the selectors' court and they must reward the domestic performance and include him in the Test squad as a replacement.

There was a time when dating meant being set up by your friends on blind dates, bumping into random strangers at a party only to hit it off and be asked out or simply trying your luck in your existing pool of friends/acquaintances.
Those were the simpler times and the most that you could explore was through word of mouth. But now, the scene is pretty different.
© iStock
Not only can you end up dating someone from across the world, but all it takes to do that is one simple click and a swipe.
And if you’re as clever as this man called Kavner, who literally found a hack to date Olympians, you’re all set!
Turns out, this guy Kavner who goes by the username @reedkavner on TikTok made a rather interesting revelation about Tinder and how to end up shooting your shot with the Olympians gathered in the Olympic Village in Tokyo.
Yes, guys, it’s possible!
Last night I made a TikTok about changing my Tinder location to put myself in the Olympic Village so that I can fall in love with an Olympian (medalists preferred). It got 2M views overnight, which is fun, but now Olympic Village Tinder is flooded with non-Olympians pic.twitter.com/71PXQGqUQV
— Reed Kavner (@reedkavner) July 21, 2021
For anyone who is well acquainted with the dating app Tinder, they know just how it works.
You set up your current location or a radius and based on the people in that area on the app, you come across profiles that you can swipe left or right.
But the catch with Tinder Plus is that you can change your location to anywhere in the whole world. Even the Olympic Village...See where I’m going with this?
Explaining his little hack on a TikTok video that naturally went viral, because who doesn’t want to match with a goddamn international level athlete, Kavner inspired tons of people on the internet to adopt his approach and see for themselves.
© Giphy
In a Tweet, he wrote, “Last night I made a TikTok about changing my Tinder location to put myself in the Olympic Village so that I can fall in love with an Olympian (medalists preferred). It got 2M views overnight, which is fun, but now Olympic Village Tinder is flooded with non-Olympians.”
What’s more, is that the official account of Tinder also made a comment on his recent move and wrote, “you’re not in the Olympics but you’re winning the game” and boy were they right!
© TikTok
In a word to a leading daily, he further shared, “After my video began getting popular on TikTok, a lot of other people changed their locations in Tokyo, so Olympians are hard to find now. But I've seen people who have 'I'm here because of TikTok' in their Tinder bios, which is cool."
While Kavner couldn’t match with a real Olympian (although full points for even getting this close), he did see a few of them while swiping on the app and the Canadian swimmer Katerine Savard even dropped a comment on his video. He said, “She [Katerine Savard] left a few comments on TikTok and one of them included the winky face emoji, so I count that."
I've been Buzzfed https://t.co/Wx1zlxKtx6
— Reed Kavner (@reedkavner) July 22, 2021 He even apologised to have flooded the village with people eager to date Olympians as he said, "I asked Katerine to tell her fellow athletes that I'm sorry if I ruined their Olympic swiping experience. I don't think any of the Olympians should have too hard of a time finding [someone]."
*Excuse me, busy changing my location to the film city*

Whether it is the Bollywood film industry or the modelling industry, the emphasis in both for actors as well as models is to have unrealistic body standards.
Whether it is a movie or for a shoot, one tends to have a higher chance if they have six-pack abs or bulging muscles.
© Instagram/Gabriella Demetriades
During an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Instagram, a fan asked her whether she had struggled with confidence about her body. Gabriella then shared an incident of her early years as a model.
"Yes, sadly the fashion industry wasn't as diverse as it is today. I would be told all the time I'm not tall enough, my hips are too big, my thighs too thick, basically whatever they didn't like. It took me a long time to not place my worth on those things." replied Gabriella.
If it wasn't just body shaming, the model even answered a question on the idea of having perfect skin.
A fan had asked her, "Your skin is so perfect, looking so healthy, what's your secret?"
To which she replied: "I still have some pigmentation from pregnancy but I feel no alcohol, lots of sleep and exercise, and a good routine (washing your face, sunscreen, moisturizer when needed, and lots of Vitamin C) has really helped me."
Well, there you have it, folks.
Unfortunately, the best in business have had to go through this unfair concept of body-shaming as well.
It definitely isn't right and sadly, it's something that starts at home, school, your social circles.
Now, especially with the pandemic, where people have been cooped up in their houses, devoid of proper exercise, there is definitely a need for people to be kinder to each other.
After all, looks aren't everything!

Ever wondered where life is taking you and why you are struggling with bills, EMIs, what is this adulting, why we have to pay in order to live on this planet, why are we not heir to a bank of wealth as shown in Bollywood movies where rich kids of Mr. Singhania are just mooching off the family fortune?
Well, a lot of us think and dream that way. Turns out, someone’s fantasy is actually someone’s reality. A guy named Ravi hit some crazy jackpot when he found out that the shares his grandfather had bought decades ago were casually lying around and were worth a whopping Rs 130 crores!
This guy discovered shares worth ₹130 crore in his house 🤭 pic.twitter.com/8TWNo446zS

Power of HODL
— Vijay Kumar (@tomar_vijay18) July 22, 2021The caller is a guy named Ravi who called up a news channel during a show to get some expert advice on some shares lying in the house. He explained that his grandfather had bought some shares of MRF worth Rs 20,000 back in 1990 and later ended up in a coma due to an accident. His grandfather had eventually gifted him the shares after gaining consciousness. Ravi asked for advice on selling them but the revelation that came his way probably shook him! If this is not called being lucky, then I don’t know how to define that word.

Thanks to Indian society's norms and values around the word ***, it's still deemed an 'inappropriate' thing to talk about.
It is believed that talking about this subject is 'offensive', and hence, teachers and parents are unable to impart proper *** education to children.
In extreme cases, talking about *** is often branded 'vulgar' and cheap as well, and this narrow-minded perspective is often inflicted on the younger generation.
Luckily, we are witnessing a gradual change in this vicious mindset, and while we still have a long way to go, we are glad to see that some kids are being vocal about the topic.

Meanwhile, Ira has also been vocal about her relationship. Despite facing challenges while growing up, she seems to be in a healthy relationship with her boyfriend, Nupur Shikhare.
She is currently holidaying in Himachal Pradesh and often takes to Instagram and shares pictures with him.

Rishabh Pant has finally recovered from the COVID-19 virus and has returned to unite with his team in Durham to resume practice ahead of the five-match Test series against the hosting England side and he was welcomed with open arms by the team head coach, Ravi Shastri.
After being confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus during the 20-day break Indian cricketers were given after the World Test Championship final, Pant was in isolation as the rest of the squad played their first practice match against the County Select XI.
On Thursday evening, when the wicket-keeper batsman finally united with the rest of the squad, he was clicked with a garland of red flowers around his neck as coach Shastri stood next to him with a sense of pride and joy in his eyes.

After paraphrasing an iconic Shahrukh Khan dialogue in Hindi, Pant wrote: “Thrilled to be back. Thank you @RaviShastriOfc for this grand welcome,” from his official Twitter handle.
However, pictures that he posted online quickly became a source to a series of memes coming his way. While fans were happy to see the young southpaw back on his feet and ready to swing for the fences, they weren’t going to miss out on the opportunity to get in a few jokes as well:

It was being reported that the wicket-keeper batsman may have contracted the virus while attending the EURO 2020 match between England and Germany at the Wembley Stadium on June 30. Images of him getting pictures clicked in the middle of thousands of fans without even wearing a mask, went viral since that day and fans had warmed the southpaw about the importance of wearing a mask.
Eventually, sources close to the cricketer also revealed that Pant had gone to a dentist for a couple of days during his break time and this may also be the venue where he got in touch with the virus.
The practice match between India and the Country Select XI ended in a draw with Rohit Sharma’s side declaring 192 runs to lead by 283 runs in the second innings and their opponents only being able to score 31 before the third and final day was over.
