Just like how Ross on Friends always raises his concern when Rachel or other friends speak wrong English or make grammatical errors, there are many 'Grammar Nazis' who don't take a moment before criticising others.
Globally, most of the population speaks English to explain their perspectives and ideas, but it's often forgotten that English is not the official international mother tongue and that it's not mandatory for everyone to be an expert in it.
It has got nothing to do with intelligence, and not knowing every bit about the widely-spoken language is sometimes acceptable.
© Netflix
However, some Sesquipedalians make sure to point out mistakes when the language is spoken incorrectly. While it's okay to give an opinion when asked, it's not a great idea to 'school' others unless required.
The latest example of an English-stickler is that of Minimalist co-founder, whose name also went in Forbes 30 Under 30, Sahil Vaidya.
© LinkedIn/Sahil Vaidya
Sahil took to Linkedin and wrote, "When someone says “Your screen is getting stucked, I cant able to see it”, you wonder what to fix first: the screen or their grammar."
Take a look.
© LinkedIn/Sahil Vaidya
Even though it was meant to be a joke, the co-founder received a lot of backlash.
Users on Linkedin and even on Twitter were quick to respond to his 'classist joke' and called him out for being privileged.
The post looks like it was for someone whose English speaking skills are plausibly not up to the mark. However, letting the world know about it, in a mocking way, seemed like a bad idea, especially on a job-searching platform.
This one post, attracted a countless number of responses, with people pointing out Vaidya's attitude. Some went as far as to point out mistakes in his post itself.
© LinkedIn/Sahil Vaidya
No doubt, his comment received a lot of ire. Arti Gupta, the co-founder of Stylenook asked him to 'fix his judgement' while pointing errors.
She mentioned, "Jokes apart - it's easy to poke fun at other people's grammar. I would understand if this were a remark about a marketing tagline, but it is a jibe at someone trying to do their job and communicating clearly. As long as communication is lucid, in our time and age of a diverse and global economy, one is better off leaving judgment at the door."
The post also made its way on Twitter and within no time, everyone started criticising Vaidya.

One user wrote, "It's a subconscious subservience to colonialism and the western culture that is still residual in our psyche which automatically establishes an intelligence hierarchy through fluency of English or lack thereof. Unfortunately, none bats an eye if the vernacular grammar is wrong." while another one said, "Looks like in his haste to be in the 30 under 30, he skipped some Grammar classes himself!"
Take a look at the raging responses.
The biggest grammatical mistake lies in the last part of sentence "the screen or their grammer" ...it should be " the screen or his grammar"... because 'Someone' is a Singular entity..not Plural
— devarshi shukla (@devarshi9283) July 21, 2021I’ve been working with Spanish, Chinese, French, Danish colleagues (including top mgmt) and their grammar is not that great. But in this country, the prime metric to judge intelligence is the fluency and immaculate grammar.
— Vishal sharma (@Vishal_VS4) July 20, 2021It's a subconscious subservience to colonialism and the western culture that is still residual in our psyche which automatically establishes an intelligence hierarchy through fluency of English, or lack thereof. Unfortunately, none bats an eye if vernacular grammar is wrong.
— Anik Mukherjee (@anikmukherjee93) July 20, 2021Looks like in his haste to be in the 30 under 30, he skipped some Grammar classes himself!
— Trupz (@trupz) July 20, 2021Wrong takeaway. The point is, correcting someone's grammar and English proficiency is a terrible way to be judgemental and lord it over someone, esp someone for whom English is a second language.
— somebody nobody and mad (@nefertitillated) July 20, 2021These 30 under 30 and 40 under 40s are a total waste
— Sahil Sayed (@sahilsayed85) July 20, 2021 Some even thought Forbes 30 Under 30 was a joke...

Be it going on long drives with Prateek Kuhad music playing in the background or going to eat chai and pakoda with your buddies, we all have a monsoon tradition we love to follow.
However, sipping chai or enjoying your favourite music is anything but fun when you’re wearing uncomfortable masks.
The humidity causes even more acne, rashes and sweat than usual, which only makes wearing masks more painful. As a result, it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and aggravates all your skin problems.
Well, monsoons are meant to be enjoyed, not tolerated.
Here's how these masks will help you survive the pandemic and the humidity with utmost comfort:
Softer & Safer For Your Skin
Give your skin what it truly deserves - a face mask that's dermatologically tested and will cause no harm to your skin.

Skin problems tend to get worse during monsoons, thanks to the humidity. Be it acne, excess oil, rashes or even sweat, these face masks will not just keep you safe from the virus but also from pesky skin troubles.
Adjustable Ear Loops & Headband We all know the feeling of those tight and uncomfortable ear loops tugging on the skin. Sometimes, they can even cause scratches and rashes. Things get even more painful when you have to wear these masks every single day, for hours at an end.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1810__
Well, you can easily make your life easier by switching to a face mask that comes with a separate headband adjuster. Not just that, the ear loops in these masks are made using comfortable elastic that will allow you to enjoy the monsoon rains, without any pain or discomfort.
Breathable & Water Resistant Fabric If you want your mask to not be a breeding ground for bacteria, you need to keep it dry. This is extremely difficult during the monsoon season. However, the Zero Risque Pro Face Masks are water and splash resistant. This means that they can be easily dried and will not absorb any moisture.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2136__
The first layer is treated with HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03 technology, for protection against bacteria and viruses. The next four layers are made with spun bond and melt blown fabric that allow easy filtration of air.
The last layer is made with a knitted fabric that allows a comfortable air flow and helps in keeping the sweat minimum.
Altogether, this mask provides extreme protection with its six layers, without compromising on the breathability and comfort.
Wear A Mask & Stay Safe Vaccinated or not, face masks are here to stay. As much as we hate wearing them, we know that we have to.

This is why the Zero Risque Reusable Pro Face Masks are definitely worth a spot in your monsoon wardrobe. They are safe, stylish and comfortable. More so, they will keep you and your skin safe, even when the weather is so humid.

Insecurity, the ten-letter word that has spelled doom for many a relationship, often brings out the worst in people, regardless of their gender or preferences. This dreaded emotion seeps into our relationships because we’re far too occupied with projecting a version of ourselves rather than being the authentic and real individuals that we are.
Finding another person attractive while we’re in a relationship can often induce guilt and anxiety in us as well as our partners. And rightfully so. All this while we’ve been spoon fed the notion that absolute and utter devotion to our partners, one that borders on subservience is the ideal all relationships should be chasing.
But is it fair?
Here are 3 reasons why finding other people attractive while being in a relationship is not cheating:
Appreciate, But Don’t Act There’s a marked difference between appreciation and obsession. You telling your partner that you’ve a fresh crush on a new celebrity is completely okay. What isn’t okay is acting on a similar impulse and sleeping with someone behind your partner’s back. That is a clear violation of trust and commitment, and it’s a total dick move. It’s human nature to find people different from ourselves attractive, and ask any couple in a successful relationship and they’d echo that sentiment. What matters is that one doesn’t act on these impulses, unless your partner is okay with it.
© iStock
Be Honest With Your Partner One of the most beautiful parts of being in a relationship is being vulnerable with your partner. Openly and honestly discussing people that you are attracted to allows you to get to know each other better and on a deeper level. It also allows you to identify your boundaries, topics that are uncomfortable for you to discuss usually show aspects of your life you can work on with your partner, growing together as a couple as well as individuals. More often than not it introduces humour and allows you to laugh about these things as well. After all, honesty is always better than pretending. There’s no need to pretend to have blinders on all the time.
© iStock
Spicing Things Up This one might not be for everyone. But if your relationship has gone too vanilla for your preference, and you’re looking to spice things up, then opening up to your partner about your fantasies helps. You can encourage them to do the same as well. This will strengthen the bonds of your relationship. Take baby steps here, don’t go all in at once. As it might be overwhelming for some people. Figure out the pace of your relationship, and who knows maybe these conversations can lead to more fun for you and your partner in bed!
© iStock
It’s easier said than done, but it’s high time we normalised these discussions. There’s no point keeping them taboo, pretending as if finding people attractive isn’t basic human nature. Remember, appreciation is fine, acting on these impulses and breaking the commitment isn’t.

Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra has been in the headlines of late for all the wrong reasons. He has been arrested for his major involvement in a case related to the alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through mobile apps. Kundra and 10 others have been taken into custody for the same.
Raj Kundra has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of IPC besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
View this post on Instagram
Now, his lawyer Abad Ponda, while defending his client Raj Kundra has made an argument in court that the content that was published on the app can be tagged as vulgar and not porn. He said, “The IT Act sections can't be read with IPC sections, but here the police have done this. Section 67A of the IT Act talks about sexually explicit acts. Only the actual... intercourse can be considered porn. Rest all is just vulgar content.”
© Filmfare
He further added, “Police is following what web series are doing these days - vulgar content. But that's not really classified as porn. Nothing in this remand shows that two people actually indulged in [an] act of intercourse. If it's not actual intercourse, it's not classified as porn.”
He also questioned the arrest of Raj Kundra and said, “Police custody should be an exception and not a norm. Arrest should be made only when the investigation cannot move further without the arrest. In this case, the accused was made to join the investigation once he was arrested. The arrest wasn't made as per law.”
The nine people arrested before Raj Kundra’s name popped up in the case include TV actress Gehna Vashisht, Yasmin R. Khan, Monu Joshi, Pratibha Nalavade, M. Atif Ahmed, Dipankar P. Khasnavis, Bhanusurya Thakur, Tanvir Hashmi, and Umesh Kamath who is the producer looking after the operations of ‘Hotshots’ in India.
People have bashed the lawyer on social media and called his statements ‘utter nonsense.’

Less than two weeks before the start of the opening Test against England, Virat Kohli and Co received good news as wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant joined the Indian team after recovering from COVID-19.
Pant had tested for the dreaded virus on July 8 and was put in mandatory isolation for at least 10 days, as per the local guidelines.
Although he tested positive for COVID-19, he hadn’t developed any symptoms and his progress was being closely monitored by the BCCI medical team.

In their absence, KL Rahul played as a wicket-keeper and went on to score a fighting century, helping Team India post a respectable first innings total after a shaky start.
After warming the bench during the World Test Championship final, Rahul knew the importance of the match and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands, leaving Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri with a huge selection headache.
