After getting praised for her short film, Bao, in 2018 and becoming the first woman to direct a Pixar short movie, the captain lady Domee Shi is back behind the lense and this time, it’s a full feature movie.
If you have seen Bao's earlier work, you'd know for a fact that her movie will be filled with metaphors. Her film is titled Turning Red and the makers have already dropped the trailer.
The story is about a 13-year-old girl named Mei Mei who turns into a red giant panda whenever she is stressed out. Interestingly, we all turn red with anger and the director has used that emotion wittily. She has shown how growing up isn’t easy and how teenagers deal with their outbursts of emotions.
Here’s the trailer:
The movie has been set in Toronto, Canada, which is also the hometown of the director of the movie. Interestingly, she has also taken care of the fact that her movie should have characters from different cultures.
It features a Sikh character who is seen playing the role of a school security guard where Mei Mei studies. In this particular scene, he is seen arguing with Mei Mei’s mom. The director has taken care of the detailing as he is seen wearing a navy-colored turban and a uniform. He is also seen wearing a ‘kada’.
View this post on Instagram
But despite all this detailing, people aren’t convinced as they feel she has stereotyped the fact that all the Sikhs or Indians work as security guards or taxi drivers in foreign countries. They also want him to have a significant role and not just be the laughing stock.

It is safe to say that Indian horror scene was basically just divided into two genres of movies- the Ramsay brothers films which included titles like Purani Haveli and Veerana. I remember watching these movies air on TV everyday casually during lunch hours, giving us 90’s kids some spooky company.
Then came the Bhatt clan with their productions like Raaz, giving erotic horror a spin of their own. If I jog my memory, I don’t think we had a defined status of what a fantastically written and developed Indian horror movie looked like.
Then I watched Tumbadd and my perception changed massively. It is obnoxious that the movie became a hit amongst masses after more than a year of its release when it became a recommendation on an OTT platform scene.
However, it's that one movie which needs to be watched, especially after you read and watch interviews of the cast and crew where they narrate some crazy BTS facts.
A grinding mix of folklore and fear, Tumbadd is easily the finest horror cinematographic experience for a viewer. The whole mythology angle of Hastar and the womb of the Goddess adds the much needed flavour of intimidating storytelling. This legend and the greed one witnesses through Vinayak is a metaphor of the carnal human desire of fighting anyone for gold and food, the two things that keep mankind going.
Tumbadd is an actual village in the interiors of Maharashtra which has been associated with legends surrounding it since the beginning of time. Sohum Shah as the producer and the lead actor has basically managed to steer the film on his shoulders, with special mention of actor Piyush Kaushik who plays Pandurang and the scary dadi with zero handholding and great finesse.
© Prime Video
Talking about the designing, imagery and the stunning frames of this dark movie, Pankaj Kumar, who is the cinematographer has done justice to bringing the claustrophobia of the script to life on the big screen. As a viewer, you experience the eeriness, the strange fear of entering the darkness of the womb and the unknown dilemma which surrounds the air around Vinayak.
In fact, I happened to read about some unknown facts about the movie and the climax scenes which shows the womb was filmed using an oil-lamp as the primary source of light. If you Google some more, you’ll find out that even though the movie finished filming in 2015, the makers and the team kept on adding special effects and oiled some scenes with more clarity during post-production, which took over three years. Each element used in the movie is a device and a catalyst of a certain emotion. The rains play an integral part of the narrative and the movie was shot over four monsoons to maintain authenticity.
© Prime Video
A major heads up to the art department of the movie and the production designers who have made it possible for anyone watching the movie, to experience this horror with great delight. The intricate background score (courtesy maestro Jesper Kyd of Assasins Of The Creed fame) serves as an icing on the cake and manages to accompany your eyes as you cross dim light passages and enter that pulsating womb.
Now to think that this movie lacked funds initially, was in the pipeline for a very long time and took over 6 years to be completed sounds bizarre and unreliably weird. Though one can imagine that big-budget production houses who churn out content for the masses would probably not toss the coin and invest time and money in an unexplored concept with risky returns.
Hence Bollywood got the gift of Sohum who is an example of hard work, dedication (the guy put on weight and maintained his physique for 6 years of filming) and has suddenly instilled confidence in the heart of new-age filmmakers and actors that a project is not made for merely ringing cash registers at the box office, but to give the audience a taste of ‘rea’ cinema.
We keep complaining that Bollywood is still not where Hollywood has reached in terms of layered storytelling and gripping cinematography, the type which makes you think twice before checking your phone or taking a bathroom break. That is because there are not enough people with that madness to give a movie what it takes.
In case you still haven’t managed to watch this exceptionally well made movie, then do yourself a big favour and check it out. It is not meant to serve as a background white noise, or your companion while you scroll through Instagram on the phone. It will make you shut doors, cancel calls and just move from one frame to another in awe.
Oh, and don’t worry if you are unable to sleep after this (just like one wants to savour a delicious meal and can’t sleep immediately), just remind yourself that "So jaa varna Hastar aa jaayega (go to sleep or else Hastar will come)”.

Taapsee Pannu recently said that she originally doesn’t have the ‘sensuality’ of her Haseen Dillruba character, Rani Kashyap. She expressed that a lot of the emotions of the characters didn’t come naturally to her.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Taapsee Pannu said, "People who've known me... They'll know that I am far, far away from Rani, in my real life, the kind of person that I am. I don't have that sexual, sensuous vibe with me. I don't carry that, I don't use that to my advantage. So for me to pull off a character like that... I'm not so smitten with the idea of love."
View this post on Instagram
She further added, "There were a lot of these emotions that weren't coming organically to me, as Taapsee, and I had to literally psych myself out into believing that she is this person who is just smitten with the idea of love and can go to any dramatic extent to get that love in her life, and she's using sexuality and sensuality as her weapon for that. These were the things not coming naturally to me."
She also said that if the audiences like her films, that means that her risky decision-making is working for her.

Haseen Dillruba directed by Vinil Mathew and written by Kanika Dhillon starring Harshvardhan Rane and Vikrant Massey alongside Taapsee Pannu released on Netflix on July 2.
The film received a mixed review from the audience and this film is not a cup of tea for everyone. However, the crime thriller created a lot of buzz.

Smart Displays are getting more advanced than you think - that’s the first thing that will come to your mind when you see the Echo Show 10. It’s not like any other smart display because it can automatically swirl around, thanks to its motorised base and an extremely accurate camera. The Echo Show 10 reminds me more of R2D2 from Star Wars than anything else I’ve experienced yet. I’ve been using the Echo Show 10 for the past two weeks and here’s what I think about Amazon’s latest smart display.
Design and DisplayThe Echo Show 10 looks like a regular smart display from afar, however you soon realise its 360-degree nature once you come close to it. The smart display can rotate itself automatically using the 13-megapixel camera and far-field microphones to get your precise location. The rotating feature comes particularly handy when you are following a recipe in the kitchen and moving about. It also comes in handy when you are in a video call and need to move around. The Echo Show 10’s automatic rotating feature keeps everything in frame whether you are watching a video on Prime Video/Netflix or having a chat with family.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
In my usage, the motion tracking feature worked extremely accurately. Whether I moved left or right the display always kept up with me. Having said that, the motion feature will not work properly if there isn’t enough light in the room. Having said that, if there was an additional person in the room, the Echo Show 10 would get confused at times especially if the other person is walking in the opposite direction.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
You can disable the motion feature if you find it creepy. It can be disabled either from the drop-down menu from the top or you can simply tell Alexa to stop following you. Other commands such as “Alexa, follow me,” “Alexa, turn right,” or “Alexa, turn off motion” also gets the job done. What’s great is that the rotating feature can also be used manually i.e you can manually turn the display left or right even when motion is turned off. You can also tilt the display up or down depending on your viewing angle.
For privacy concerns, the Echo Show 10 comes with a mute microphone button much like other Alexa devices. What’s more important is that there is a physical shutter you can use to cover up the camera on the top-right corner.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
The 10.1-inch screen is also much brighter and sharper than before. You can also adjust the display’s brightness and colour according to the ambience of the room. Overall, the display quality is great for people who would use it in a kitchen or a living room to catch up on the latest episode of their favourite TV show or take video calls. The display’s quality is not on the same level as tablets but then again I don’t see people using it like one either.
Audio Performance The Echo Show 10 does have a massive audio driver below the display that also overhangs to the back. It’s got a pair of 1-inch front-firing tweeters and a 3-inch woofer that fires low-frequency sounds out the top. While the speaker is great for viewing videos and watching security cameras, it doesn’t really match up to the Sonos One or other audio-focused smart speakers.
© Amazon
Having said that, being a smart display, the audio quality isn’t really the priority here. It’s still a very capable speaker as it can get really loud. You can even pair the smart display with the Echo Sub if you are looking for a better audio experience. You can also stream music to the Echo Show 10 using Bluetooth, however I recommend streaming music over WiFi and your dedicated streaming app. Thankfully, Alexa devices support Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Gaana and other major streaming services natively.
Smart Home and Ecosystem The Echo Show 10 can do almost everything a regular Alexa can do. You can control your smart lights and other smart home devices with your voice. However, since it also has a display, you can use the touchscreen to manually control each smart home device from the control panel. You can also view security cameras if Alexa supports them. You can use security cameras from both Xiaomi and Realme by connecting them as a skill and view footage directly on the Echo Show 10’s screen. It’s a shame that Amazon doesn’t sell ‘Ring’ products in India at the moment since the Echo Show 10 feels like it was tailor-made for the ecosystem.
© Amazon
Being a smart display, you can also use it as a digital photo gallery. However, uploading photos from the Alexa app is quite convoluted and not as streamlined as Google Photos for the Nest Hub devices. Since the Echo Show 10 has a beautiful display, it’s a shame that I cannot use it as a digital photo gallery like I can on the Google Nest Hub.
In terms of smart home commands, Alexa has always been faster and more reliable than Google Assistant and the case remains the same here. The Echo Show 10 is as responsive as any Echo device from Amazon’s catalogue.
The Final Say The Echo Show 10 is by far the most innovative smart display I’ve seen yet. Its motorised display is a game-changer for users who like to do video calls or be on the move. Having said that, if you only rely on the Echo for smart home controls or listening to music, the Echo Show 10 may not be for you. For Rs 24,999, the Echo Show 10 has a very specific use case, for example video calling, reading recipes while you cook, and watching videos when you’re not stationary. If you’re already invested in the Echo ecosystem, then the Echo Show 10 might be a great addition to your smart-home setup.

Breakups suck. Sometimes even if we want to have a healthy outlook towards it, it’s difficult. The feeling when a person precious to us becomes a stranger hits us hard. While we’d like to go through a series of emotions to adequately process the event, we’re unable to.
Why?
Because society in general has come to look at men as creatures that never get hurt. After all, ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota Na?’
Here are a few ways heartbreaks affect us as we’re expected to stay quiet and deal with it:
Isolation We take heartbreaks personally. And why wouldn’t we since the only person we opened up to doesn’t exist in our lives anymore, leaving us alone and hurting. Even though we have friends and family to share feelings with, it’s not the same as your ex. No one knows you as well as they did. Choosing instead to wallow by ourselves in the hopes that the feelings would run their course.
© iStock
Numbness to Anger Because we’re expected to be stoic and emotionless freaks, we resort to numbing all our emotions. Does it do any good? Not in the long run, no. I realized that the longer I numbed myself, the angrier I was coming out of the entire experience. Unfortunately, this anger spills over into other aspects of our lives, and over time we don't even realize how it becomes a crutch for us.
© iStock
Just Get Over It? Emotions? What are emotions? As men, how dare we wallow and feel shitty about a breakup? Society has some utterly trash expectations from men, and this one is definitely up there with the rest. We need to be given space to process our honest feelings because most of the time we don’t even know how we’re feeling.
© iStock
Blocked And Deleted Everything reminds us of them and we’re constantly triggered by thoughts of them. Back in the day we could just delete their number and let time fade away their memories. Now? Even after having broken up, our social media algorithms refuse to cooperate, pushing our ex’s content down our throats. The only way we see us not going absolutely bonkers is by burning all bridges.
© iStock
Freeze Crying While reeling from a bad breakup, we tend to hide all our emotions, trying to put up a brave front for everyone. However, in those moments when we’re alone and truly by ourselves, we find ourselves shedding tears without even realizing it - a few frozen moments of grief and sorrow, before we go back to the regularly scheduled numbness. Later in life I realized that this was happening due to a certain emotional lag we develop.
© iStock
Letting go of people who mean a lot to us can be one of the most frustrating and confusing experiences in our lives. But why are our emotions given the step motherly treatment? Twadda Kutta Tommy? Sadda Kutta Kutta?

Farhan Akhtar recently said that he isn’t disturbed by the audience finding similarities between his upcoming film Toofaan, and Salman Khan’s 2016 film Sultan. Both the films are sports dramas and revolve around the lives of down and out athletes who make a comeback.
He was recently asked in an interview, that whether the comparisons disturb him or not. He said that the structure of the two films can be the same, but the journeys of the two characters are very different.
He said that broadly speaking, any sportsperson who defies all odds to make a comeback can fall in this category. The film Toofaan is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and is all set to release on July 16 on Amazon Prime Video.
View this post on Instagram
Farhan Akhtar said, "I don't get disturbed at all. The fact is people will discover what this film is about when they see it. When we announced we were making a film about boxing, people said we're ripping off Rocky. Now that they've seen the trailer, they think we've ripped off Sultan. And that is completely understandable. There may be elements of the structure that are similar, in terms of somebody who is good at what he did, lost it all, and had to get it back. But that story is so common of so many people. Say somebody succeeded in any other sport, cricket for example... Somebody may have got injured, went out, and came back and made it to the national team... You can say they have exactly the same story, but their journeys are never the same."
View this post on Instagram
He added, "Who they are as people, how they react to things, what it is that compelled them to be there in the first place, what compelled them to go back are completely different things. No two people have the same journey."
The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal.

If you’re driving around in a super swanky and super expensive Rolls Royce, and you’re a widely popular public figure, getting called out by a High Court Judge is the last thing you want to deal with.
© Twitter/actorvijay
Unfortunately for Vijay Chandrasekhar, also known as Thalapthy Vijay by his ardent fans, that is exactly what has happened.
© Twitter/actorvijay
Back in 2012, Thalapathy Vijay bought and imported a Rolls Royce that was worth Rs 5 Crores back then. Along with the usual import duties and customs, customers usually have to pay an entry tax when they get their cars imported.
© Twitter/actorvijay
Vijay had filed a petition under the name C Joseph Vijay challenging the demand for payment of the entry tax by transport authorities to register his imported car, even after paying duty to the customs department.
© Twitter/actorvijay
The judge had a number of issues. Firstly, as per the judge, Vijay hadn’t mentioned his profession in the affidavit that he had filed. It was only after his lawyer was asked about his client did the judge get to know that it was indeed Vijay the actor with whom he was dealing.
The Madras High Court blasted Vijay’s counsel at that point, stating that his client was going against statutes despite being a reputed actor whom fans often see as “real hero”. He then ordered Vijay to pay the entry tax as demanded by the authorities and further imposed a fine of Rs 1 Lakh on the actor.
© Twitter/actorvijay
The judge then went on to say that what Vijay was trying to do amounts to tax evasion and that such activities are anti-nationalistic in nature, and that as an actor who has a massive fan following, he should be setting a better example.
The High Court judge went on to say, “These actors portray themselves as champions of social justice, but evade tax and act in a manner that is not in consonance with provisions of the statutes.” He further added, “The constitutional goal of social justice can be achieved only if people of such stature pay taxes punctually and act as real heroes in their life. Accumulation of wealth or possessing a prestigious car would not be of any assistance for a better life.”
© Twitter/actorvijay
The judge ended his remarks by stating, “A person paying tax punctually and promptly is to be considered a real hero.”
Vijay’s team in the meanwhile has claimed that since the actor is busy with a shoot, he hasn’t been able to go through the court order, and hence won’t be able to comment on the issue.

Yoga is a great form of exercise, be it for mental health or physical. From seated yoga asanas to dynamic ones, there’s something for everyone.
No matter what your fitness goal is, surya namaskar is always an essential part of any yoga routine.
Here’s why:
Benefits Of Surya Namaskar © MensXP
Surya namaskar is great for fat loss, but did you know about the other health benefits it offers?
This yoga exercise not only improves strength and flexibility, but it’s also good for improving digestion, skin and sleep quality.

Surya namaskar, when done at a moderate pace, can also help in relieving stress and anxiety. Being mindful of the breathing technique throughout the sequence helps in relaxation.
Surya Namaskar Variations For Strength © MensXP
If you do yoga regularly, you know that doing surya namaskar every single day can get a bit monotonous. More so, the only way to increase intensity in surya namaskar is to increase pace and the repetitions.
Well, you need not worry anymore because we are here with the perfect solution. These surya namaskar variations will not only help you burn more calories but also make your workouts more challenging and interesting.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1814__
1. Chandra Namaskar The next variation isn’t technically a surya namaskar but has similar benefits and will definitely help you break the monotony. The sequence involves some high intensity movements that are sure to leave you drenched in sweat. If you’re bored of surya namaskars, try the moon salutation instead, especially if you workout after sunset.
2. Surya Namaskar A This surya namaskar variation has no low-lunges and an additional plank position to help you get that tight core. This variation is great for building core and upper body strength. It’s a great warm up to do before arm balances that require strength and focus.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1833__
3. Surya Namaskar B Take it up a notch with this surya namaskar variation. Instead of the low-lunges, this variation involves the warrior 1 pose. Unlike Surya Namaskar A, which focuses on the upper body, this one focuses on your entire body. If you want to work on strength and stamina, this is the variation to go for.
4. Egyptian Sun SalutationThis variation of surya namaskar is extremely challenging and perfect for anyone who has been doing yoga for about a year now. You can take your daily practice up a notch with this high-intensity yoga sequence.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1846__
5. Quick Flow Surya Namaskar This surya namaskar variation is perfect for beginners and mainly focuses on your upper body. The most challenging pose in this sequence is the chaturanga dandasana, which engages your core muscles.
6. Ardha Surya Namaskar As the name suggests, this surya namaskar variation has about half the number of steps as a usual surya namaskar. This variation involves six poses and is a great warm up for any kind of exercise.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1808__
7. Kneeling Surya Namaskar Like the ardha surya namaskar, this one involves six steps too. However, it focuses mainly on your upper body. This variation helps in relieving back pain and also strengthens the upper body.

Injuries are a part and parcel of any professional athletes’ life and we have seen how it can impact a player’s career -- the most recent example being of Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya who is yet to reach the same level he was before he underwent the knife to treat his lower back problem in 2019.
Making a comeback from a major injury is not an easy task for any player and the same applies to Hardik, who has returned to the limited-overs side but only as a specialist batsman and has yet to resume bowling at full tilt.
© Instagram Hardik Pandya
Hardik has travelled with India’s second-string team to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series where he will be playing under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan. With this being the only limited-overs series ahead of the T20 World Cup, the focus will be on Hardik’s performance.
Amidst all this, Hardik’s childhood coach Jitendra Singh has created an unnecessary divide among fans after saying that he was 'disappointed' when selectors didn’t pick the all-rounder to lead the side on the Sri Lanka tour.

“Definitely, I was. He could have been a great option as he can play for five to seven years. He has got new thoughts and has a lot of energy. He could have been a good investment (in captaincy), especially for the white ball format," Hardik’s childhood coach Jitendra Singh told Cricketnext.
“He can contribute. He has got the technique and temperament and maturity and if he gets an opportunity he can prove himself. The conditions don’t matter for him as his technique is sound and simple," he added.

Before his injury, Hardik was an indispensable part of Virat Kohli’s side across all formats but has gone down the pecking order after a terrible injury.
To Hardik’s credit, he was India’s standout performer in the limited-overs series Down Under last year and even won the Man of the Series in the shortest format, playing as a specialist batsman, which he later handed over to T Natarajan for excelling in his debut series.

The fans argued that Hardik’s place in the T20 World Cup squad isn’t guaranteed if he didn't start bowling again and there was no way selectors were going to take a chance by giving him an additional responsibility.
Since whn did years remaining in international ckt became a criteria for captaincy selection??? By that logic anyone who has more yrs left in international ckt should be made the captain... Crazy statement from Hardik's coach
— Vaughan Fielding Academy (@Vaughan_Academy) July 14, 2021Anyone tell him to come out of dream, KL & Shreyas are not in the team that's why dhawan became captain.. No chance of hardik, if he plays for more 20 years
— Baqar khan 🇮🇳 (@its_baqar) July 14, 2021even if dhawan wasn't captain bhuvneshwar was second choice. tell him to come to reality
— Priyam Garg FC (@51off26) July 14, 2021Tell that coach
1st choice shikar Dhawan
2nd choice Bhuvi
3rd choice sanju
4th choice Ishan kishan
And Hardik will be at last choice as captain
— NO WARNER NO SRH (@AdviserSrh) July 14, 2021It's not IPL... childish coach...
— PrAvEeN ReDdY (@naakuteliyadhu) July 14, 2021If HARDIK can not bowling than we can't consider him in Team also
MI me khelna alag baat hai or team India me khelna bhi alag baat hai
— Kishan Pujara | Gujarat Covid Support (@IamKishanPujara) July 14, 2021Was he daydreaming?? There are much better and experienced captains in the squad, tbh. Dhawan, Iyer & Bhuvi are first choice. Then, there are Shaw( U-19 captain), SKY( viewed as a captain by Gambhir himself) & Ishan Kishan also(former U-19 captain & Jharkhand captain).
— Abhinav Prasad (@Abhinav56870394) July 14, 2021Joking captaincy is not a easy job .
— ಕನ್ನಡ CRICZONE (@kannadaCriczon) July 14, 2021Let, Hardik attain full fitness first. I completely agree with Dhawan as a captain. He has been a vital cog in ODI setup, has played 140+odi & has been very underrated. Being a senior player Dhawan deserved this honor. Moreover this is a young team so a senior captain makes sense
— Akshat Abhishek (@akshatabhishek0) July 14, 2021@ajay_raghava @Guptastats92 meine kasam se cricket dekhni band kar deni thi
— 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝗱𝗵𝗶 (@GautamSodhi1) July 14, 2021really? on which basis should they make Hardik captain? or think of him as a future captaincy material? He is so injury prone, doesnt bowl much now, who knows after 1-2 years if his batting declines he might not even be part of the squad..Selectors will never invest in him
— Shantanu Ghosh (@imshantanu105) July 14, 2021With an due respect, if Pandya isn't bowling, there is a chance that he might not make it into the playing XI. So captaincy is a huge and impractical thing to expect.

OnePlus has admitted that the company throttles the performance of the OnePlus 9 Series when it comes to using popular apps. The throttling was discovered by AnandTech which later resulted in the devices being removed from GeekBench for manipulating benchmark scores.

Now, OnePlus has responded to the accusations with an explanation as to why the company throttles the performance on the OnePlus 9 series and it kind of makes sense. The OnePlus 9 Series is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset which can be clocked to 3 GHz when required. However, it was found that OnePlus deliberately throttles the chipset while using popular apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and more. In fact, it was found that OnePlus was limiting the performance of the OnePlus 9 series in over 300 apps.

As to why the company limited the performance of the OnePlus 9 series on certain apps, it’s best to hear the explanation from the company itself. The company says that the chipsets have reached a point where their "power is an overkill" while using some apps. These apps include browsers, social media apps and even some games.
"In the case of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, when you open apps or heavy games, the Snapdragon 888 processor, including the super powerful X1 CPU core, will run at full speed to provide the best performance. But with actions that do not require the maximum power, like reading a webpage or scrolling through Twitter and Instagram, it’s not necessary for the CPU to run at almost 3 GHz to do that smoothly. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro reduce the CPU frequency in these scenarios to reduce power consumption and heat dissipation while maintaining a smooth experience,” OnePlus said in a blog post.

The blog post also said that the R&D team maintains a list of applications based on the most popular Google Play Store apps. The company confirmed that apps like Chrome, Twitter, Zoom, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Discord, Microsoft Office and some of their own apps use only limited performance so that “the actual user experience is not negatively affected.”
OnePlus also reached out to MensXP last week when the throttling issue was discovered and provided a statement.
"Our top priority is always delivering a great user experience with our products, based in part on acting quickly on important user feedback. Following the launch of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro in March, some users told us about some areas where we could improve the devices’ battery life and heat management. As a result of this feedback, our R&D team has been working over the past few months to optimise the devices’ performance when using many of the most popular apps, including Chrome, by matching the app’s processor requirements with the most appropriate power. This has helped to provide a smooth experience while reducing power consumption. While this may impact the devices’ performance in some benchmarking apps, our focus as always is to do what we can to improve the performance of the device for our users” the statement read.
