The human mind is an incredible biological machine, capable of coming up with solutions to most problems that one faces. It keeps us entertained, focused and alive, without requiring any additional intervention from our end. However, we often skimp on providing it with the appropriate nutrition required for its proper maintenance. Instead choosing to load ourselves with a smorgasbord of junk foods like deep fried chips, oily savouries, carbonated drinks and so on.
A nutritious diet acts as quality fuel not just for the body but the brain as well. It enables a healthy mind, decreasing the risks of psychiatric ailments. Consider your brain like a high performance vehicle that works best when given the quality fuel and servicing it rightly deserves for keeping us ticking.
    1. Filled With FibreWe’ve all heard about fibre being an integral part of any diet. More often than not we end up skimping out on it because it’s probably not very exciting. However, fibre is essential for the efficient absorption of glucose in our system. It keeps you full for longer, thus avoiding sugar crashes and binge snacking. Consider leafy veggies, fruits, nuts and grains your allies in this quest.

    2. Mood Boosting MagnesiumA lack of magnesium in your diet can cause disturbances in your mood, leading to symptoms similar to depression and anxiety. Magnesium is vital for cardiovascular stability as well as the functioning of our nerves and muscles. This mineral can be naturally found in foods like bananas, leafy vegetables like spinach, pumpkins, dark chocolate, and certain dry fruits like cashews and almonds as well.

    3. Stability with Vitamin D Vitamin D helps in the production of serotonin, a hormone that stabilizes and regulates our mood, happiness and well being. However, our population is commonly deficient in it as well. Egg yolks, mushrooms, and oily fish like salmon and sardines are good sources of Vitamin D. You might want to consult with your doctor and add a supplement for the same if your levels are seriously low.

    4. Whole Foods To The RescueAvoid processed foods as much as you can, as they are sparse in nutritional value. Certain studies have also linked artificial additives like preservatives and food colouring to an irregulation in depression and hyperactivity. Consider adding Fruits, vegetables and whole grains to your diet.

    5. Trust Your Gut With Fermented FoodsAlthough different parts of the world have been privy to this well kept secret, fermented foods are nutritiously loaded with probiotics. What are probiotics? They’re healthy bacteria that help keep your gut healthy. Fermented foods are budget friendly as well! Kimchi, sauerkraut and kombucha have gotten popular lately because of their health benefits. Dishes with fermented bamboo shoots, appams, lassi and kanji are some examples of healthy indian foods. However, consume in moderation as the process of fermentation increases the sodium content in ingredients,

Do note that nutrition is not a quick fix towards a healthier mind. It takes time to see the results from a change in diet. So patience is key. It is imperative to build a healthy scaffolding for your mind to function properly. A healthier body supported properly by adequate nutrition is a powerful intervention for better mental health.

The Pandemic has not just changed the way we perceive ‘normal’ in terms of what we wear, how we step out, how we eat or how we cannot meet friends and family, but it has also put a dragging brake on all travel plans, regardless of you wanting a drive to Kasauli, or saving up for that Summer trip to Italy. While most of us are in our cocoons and refuse to risk travelling anywhere for a long time, some people cannot stop the bug from biting them and will still face all odds to make that travel plan happen. So in view of the current global scenario, here are 6 countries which are actually allowing Indian tourists with a few conditions attached:

    1. RussiaThe world’s largest country is opening its doors for Indians. Besides the recent buzz around vaccine tourism, you can actually visit the country with a valid visa, a negative Covid report 72 hours prior to your travel and on filling a health declaration form on arrival.

    2. IcelandIf one has the money to shell out, a desire to go to see this beautiful magical place, and is fully vaccinated, then the pandemic won’t affect the travel plan. A luxury travel company called Luxe by KFT is reportedly offering a private flight to Iceland from India with no quarantine. There are work from hotel packages, and even a luxe explorer package for travel enthusiasts. The one-way ticket for economy class costs around Rs 110,000 onwards.

    3. SerbiaYou can travel here though the flights are super limited, given the current situation. A Covid negative report not older than 48 hours is required, but this is non-applicable for passengers younger than 12 years.

    4. RwandaIf Safari and a classic African vacation is your vibe, and the pandemic is not going to stop you, then you can actually visit Rwanda with a few conditions attached. Besides a negative report, you will have to fill a passenger locator form, then go to a government authorised hotel to get tested once again. You can find the list of hotels and more information on www.rbc.gov.rw.

    5. TurkeyYou have to be under quarantine for 14 days and the country has some moderate restrictions in place for now. Your Covid negative report cannot be older than 72 hours before your flight and also, you must test negative after your quarantine period is over in order to finally get out and move around.

    6. EgyptThe requirements to travel here include a 72 hour prior test, and a rapid test on arrival. In case one tests positive, then one can either choose to fly back or quarantine in the country until they test negative. Health insurance is also mandatory.

Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan had been in news recently for losing a string of projects but now, it is being reported that he has signed a high-profile film which will be produced by Ekta Kapoor under her banner, Balaji Motion Pictures.
Filmmaker Rohit Dhawan, who has previously helmed Desi Boyz (2011) and Dishoom (2016), has been roped in to direct the upcoming venture

View this post on Instagram If reports are to believed, it’s a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapuramaloo.
Kartik will once again be seen romancing Kriti Sanon, and Paresh Rawal is also on board for the movie.

Earlier, Tabu was set to be a part of the film, however, according to rumours, the actress and Kartik are apparently not keen to work together on back-to-back projects.

Reportedly, the makers connected with Manisha Koirala for the role and it’s said that she will be playing Kartik’s mother.
A source told Filmfare, “Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon are coming together again after spelling magic on-screen with Dinesh Vijan’s Luka Chuppi (2019). Kriti will play the leading lady, reprising the role of Pooja Hegde while Paresh Rawal has come on board to play Kartik’s father which was essayed by Jayaram in the original Trivikram Srinivas directorial. Rohit Dhawan and his team of writers have adapted Ala Vaikunthapuramaloo keeping in mind the criticism the film received for its predictable storyline and narrative, and have tried to make it better with a strong screenplay and a great musical score. Manisha Koirala is also in talks to play a pivotal role in the film but she is yet to sign on the dotted line.”

The source goes on to add, “Casting is more or less locked and the makers will soon announce the film officially. They are currently chalking out the shooting plans given the current scenario across the country. Kartik and Kriti’s dates are being worked out considering their other commitments and once that’s done, they will proceed with pre-production.”

Although there’s no official confirmation, it will be exciting to see all of these actors together in one single frame.

If we had a penny for every time someone asked us about our "future plan", we would have been billionaires.
    Men have it doubly hard.
They are often asked personal and inappropriate questions about their salary, dating choices and things like why they won’t cut their hair. These questions can seriously get annoying and make you want to throw a brick on the nosy person’s face.

Someone on Reddit asked men what they wish people would stop asking them and men started a discussion about annoying questions they are often asked.

You are going to relate to this regardless of nationality, culture or age you belong to.
    © iStock
Here are 7 questions that men shared they are tired of hearing and would like people to stop asking them, aka request them to mind their own business:

    1. “What are your plans?” © iStock
This question haunts everyone as soon as they graduate high school.

The user who shared this also wrote, “Man i dont know. Still dont even know what im doing for breakfast” and we can hard relate.
    2. “Why are you still single?”  © iStock
People often get a little too personal and shoot inappropriate questions like these without realising that it’s none of their business.

The user shares that he's often told, “You’re so awesome, how’re you single?” adding “Im 5’2, it’s not easy for me.”
    3. “Why don't you drink?” © iStock
Men are simply supposed to like alcohol and if they politely refuse, they are directed with questions like these, followed by shaming and mocking.

Guess what? Some men don’t drink and there doesn’t need to be a reason for that.
    4. “When will you get a job?” © iStock
Again, insensitive and inappropriate but one of the most asked questions men hear, especially the ones who are preparing for competitive exams.

“I am 22 studying ACCA and I am constantly asked when will I finish my course and when will I get a job in back of my mind I feel guilty,” the user wrote.
    5. “When are you going to have a kid?” © iStock
Not just women, men are also asked this question.

Someone added a comment on this saying “once you have a kid, they ask when are you having another” and this is some next level nosiness.

Well, it seems that Kangana Ranaut is back at it again, and this time she wants India’s name to be changed to Bharat.
Her reason, while it may sound a little bizarre, actually makes sense.
    © Viral Bhayani
Ever since Twitter shut her account down, people have been sort of missing Kangana Ranaut’s daily tweets and her controversial statements.

Say what you will about her, but apart from being an immensely talented actor, she was also a complete entertainer, in the sense that her tweets, never failed to keep us engaged. It was fun while it lasted.
Ever since she has moved to Koo, people don’t get to see her statements as often as they used to. Still, that hasn’t exactly stopped her from speaking out her mind.
    © Instagram/kanganaranaut
Recently, she took to Koo & Instagram to put out a statement, saying that India should officially be renamed as Bharat.

    © Instagram/kanganaranaut
She wrote, “India can only rise if it’s rooted in its ancient spirituality and wisdom, that is the soul of our great civilisation. The world will look up to us and we will emerge as a world leader if we go higher in urban growth but not be a cheap copy of the western world and remain deeply rooted in Vedas, Geeta and Yoga, can we please change this slave name India back to Bharat.”

She also went into some detail about the name Bharat itself.
    © Instagram/kanganaranaut
She says, “British gave us slave name India… which literally means east of Indus River. Really would you call a child small nose or second-born or worse C section? What kind of a name is this? So rudimentary. Let me tell you the meaning of Bharat. It’s made of three Sanskrit words BH (bhav), Ra (rag), ta (tal). Yes, that’s who we were before we were enslaved, the most culturally and aesthetically evolved civilisation. Every name has a vibration and the British knew this they not only gave new names to places but even to people and important monuments. We must regain our lost glory, let’s start with the name Bharat.”

Well, factual inconsistencies and errors notwithstanding, Kangana’s ideas do make sense from a post-colonial perspective.
Several eminent post-colonial scholars agree that colonisers, and not just British colonisers, renamed everything they could lay their sights on as a way to erase the idea of ‘self’ of the colonised.
They also agree that in order to completely free themselves, the colonised must rename their cultural identifiers, in their own tradition. Of course, several other scholars believe that renaming things is not really the ideal solution.
Also, we’re not entirely sure of the accuracy of Kangana’s claim of the name Bharat being an amalgamation of three Sanskrit words.
At least on Koo, people seem to be supporting her idea.

Interestingly, last year, the Supreme Court Of India had quashed a petition asking that India’s name should be changed to Bharat.

Supreme Court Quashes Petition to Rename India as Bharat, Says 'India Already Called Bharat in the Constitution'https://t.co/wfIM3a6TXl#SupremeCourt #India #Bharat

As contentious as this topic is, it certainly makes for an interesting debate.
What do you guys think of this? Should India be renamed ‘Bharat’? Do let us know in the comments below.
