The Indian gaming community is now petitioning Sony to give a response on the status of the PlayStation 5 restock in the country.ย
The PlayStation 5 launched in India on February 2nd 2021, however, due to the lower number of units available it instantly went out of stock leaving many gamers without a way to purchase the next-generation console.ย
Since then, India has not seen a restock of the console by the Japanese company and it is now testing the patience of Indian gamers.ย
    ยฉ dennis-cortes-unsplash
The petition was first spotted by IGN and the person who started the petition i.e. SV Yesvanth Kumar told the outlet that it was an effort to โ€œbring to Sonyโ€™s attention that it cannot ignore the Indian gaming community for long.โ€

Like many gamers, Kumar wasnโ€™t able to secure a PlayStation 5 for himself at the launch and is not looking to purchase the console from the grey market.ย
The petition on change.org has already got 2,767 signatures at the time of writing this story and is expected to grow further.ย
โ€œPlayStation 5 launched in the US in 12th November, but India got its launch in 2nd February. That's not the problem, the problem is that there's not even a single restock since thenโ€ the petition states with a frustrated tone.ย
    ยฉ charles-sims-unsplash
There have been previous rumours suggesting the PlayStation 5 getting a restock in early April, however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, it could have been possible that the restock was delayed even further.ย

Multiple cities across the country have imposed a curfew/lockdown that only allows the movement of essential goods and services.ย
Retailers like Amazon are only delivering essential goods in cities like Delhi and Mumbai which may be another reason for the delay.ย
It would be interesting to see if Sony responds to the plight of the Indian gaming community either with a statement or a restock soon.ย
Having said that, if you would prefer to get notified about the PlayStation 5 restock promptly, we recommend joining this Telegram Bot for instant updates.

With the alarming rise in Covid cases across the country recently, it has become more than expected of privileged folks to step out of their comfort zone to help those in need.ย
Mumbai has been under lockdown again and seeing the rise in cases, one can assume that all frontline workers have been working round the clock to take care of the affected patients.ย
Recently, Bollywood star Salman Khan stepped forward to help and was spotted disturbing refreshments and meals to all these frontline workers.ย
The video of Salman tasting the food that was getting packed for the workers has been doing the rounds on the internet.
    View this post on Instagram
Itโ€™s surely a great deed but some people are bashing the star because they think itโ€™s more of a publicity stunt as his movie Radhe: Your Most Bhai is all set to hit the screens.ย
People also questioned him as to why his charities are dated right before a movieโ€™s release.

Do you agree with people who have been saying itโ€™s more of a publicity stunt? Let us know in the comments section below.

Meanwhile, Shiv Senaโ€™s youth wing Yuva Senaโ€™s core committee member, Rahul Kanal, who has been helping Khan do the needful told Indian Express, โ€œSalman Bhai has immense respect for frontline workers. His mother even sends handmade tiffin for the police personnel that has been stationed outside his house on security duty. So Salman Bhai thought since the lockdown is going on and these workers are on duty 24/7, we should start sending food packets for them and try and make it easier for them.โ€
He added, โ€œWe were at Bhaijaanz Kitchen today where the snacks are being prepared. We have sent out 5,000 packets on Sunday. For now, we are sending these food packets from Byculla to Juhu and Bandra East to BKC, even at the jumbo Covid facility. In the coming days, a double number of packets will go out.โ€
Coming back to Salman Khan, his movie Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai will be the first Indian film to simultaneously release on multiple platforms.ย
Radhe will hit theatres on May 13, while it will also see the light of the day on ZEE5โ€™s pay-per-view platform, ZEEPlex.

โ€œItโ€™s imperative that we all come together and think of out-of-the-box solutions for cinema as an industry during the current pandemic situation. We will support the theatre owners by releasing the film in as many theatres as we can, keeping in line with the rules and protocols laid down by the government. But, considering the guidelines and safety measures, we also need to devise ways to ensure that the film reaches all of our audience. We don't want to deny the audience the choice of entertainment in the comfort of their homes during these times," Salman Khan's spokesperson said in an earlier statement.ย

Directed by Kookie Gulati, the film also stars Ileana D'Cruz, Nikita Dutta, Sohum Shah, Ram Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Samir Soni among others.
While many netizens have pointed out the similarities between the film and the popular web seriesย Scam 1992, Abhishek's stellar performance as Hemant Shah won him rave reviews.
Abhishek had previously praisedย Scam 1992ย in a conversation withย Bollywood Hungama. โ€œI sawย Scamย (1992) last year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it was just a wonderful achievement on behalf of the entire team,โ€ he said.

India has been ravaged by the tsunami of a second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving its health care systems to collapse and the country's major population in desperate need of hospital beds, medicines, test kits, and most importantly oxygen.ย

There was no respite for the nation on Monday (April 26), as it recorded 3,52,991 fresh Covid cases and 2,812 deaths, setting a new record which only goes to prove exactly how the deadly virus is continuing to hold the country by its neck.
