Gurmehar Kaur is probably the most famous college student in India right now and her strong stand against violence has brought her tons of attention, a lot of it being not so positive. Daughter of a Kargil martyr Captain Mandeep Singh and an advocate of peace, she made a statement about how the war killed her father, not Pakistan.
With that statement, people on Twitter took to trolling her and Virender Sehwag led the pack with one tweet.
Bat me hai Dum !#BharatJaisiJagahNahi pic.twitter.com/BNaO1LBHLH
    — Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) February 26, 2017 Sehwag is known for his witty trolling and comebacks on Twitter but he completely missed the mark this time as his response was not at all funny. Moreover, his tweet opened the gates for so much hate for Gurmehar Kaur.
Randeep Hooda also decided to join in and applaud Sehwag.

    — Randeep Hooda (@RandeepHooda) February 26, 2017 This initial tweet opened up gates for more trolling and started off a really unfunny ‘meme’.
I didnt slap you for your stupidity. My hand did. (Does that even make sense?)  #GurMehar
    — Unpaid Bhakt (@Tarkik) February 28, 2017 People started coming up with extremely insensitive stuff as well.

    — Yogeshwar Dutt (@DuttYogi) February 28, 2017 A lot of patronizing was also going on.
Dear #GurMehar Your Father was MARTYRED Not KILLED First Respect Your father"
    — sanjay verma (@sanjayv28320692) February 28, 2017 Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju also tweeted asking who was polluting Gurmehar’s mind.
Who's polluting this young girl's mind? A strong Arm Force prevents a war. India never attacked anyone but a weak India was always invaded. https://t.co/gXHkAGi9sh
    — Kiren Rijiju (@KirenRijiju) February 27, 2017 Yeah, because apparently, she can’t think for herself and has to be influenced by someone to form opinions, right? All she is doing is calling for peace. And that has also become such a political thing.
What a way to derail her message against violence.
After this semister #Gurmehar Kaur would be like pic.twitter.com/zBaC5fXUoF
    — Palash Motdhare (@palash_motdhare) February 27, 2017 Why is taking a stand against violence and wanting peace becoming an anti-national statement?

Delhi University, once known for being one of the most chilled out campuses in India, has now become a dreaded place for students and faculty alike and this issue does not look like it’ll die down anytime soon. The brutal attack on students of Ramjas College by the members of ABVP will forever haunt those who suffered the wrath and those who barely escaped it. Amidst the fights and controversies, one student, Gurmehar Kaur, stood up on behalf of her classmates and chose not to bow down in front of these unjustified attacks. However, in return she got hugely trolled on social media by prominent personalities and common men alike. Gurmehar Kaur is the daughter of Captain Mandeep Singh, a Kargil martyr. Recently, she posted a picture online holding a placard that mentioned she isn’t afraid of ABVP.
    © Facebook
However, somewhere between the conflicting views on nationalism and anti-nationalism, justice for the victims of ABVP lost the battle as people started digging out instances from the past and started bashing Gurmehar for raising her voice. Last year, she had made a video where she had mentioned that Pakistan did not kill her father, war killed him; and she was trolled and bashed on the social media for those words.

Prominent personalities like Virendra Sehwag and Randeep Hooda were on the forefront with their tasteless humour.
Bat me hai Dum !#BharatJaisiJagahNahi pic.twitter.com/BNaO1LBHLH
    — Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) 26 February 2017 While Virendra Sehwag posted this picture, actor Randeep Hooda seemed to have enjoyed this joke to his heart’s content and things started escalating after that.
    ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠@virendersehwag 😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/IcxuewcPMP
    — Randeep Hooda (@RandeepHooda) 26 February 2017 While our beloved Viru Paji was already receiving flak for the tweet, Randeep Hooda’s response only worsened the matter. However, recently the actor shared his opinion on Facebook on how he liked “her video of peace between warring nations” and that his intention behind the tweet was not to instigate hatred against her. He further pointed fingers against “some journalists” who are trying to malign him. He also said that he is not worried about our nation’s future, because “we have such brave and outspoken youngsters around.”

India is supposedly the largest democracy in the world, yet one cannot freely put forward their opinion without getting threatened or bashed for it. As for the ABVP incident, we want to ask you – is our patriotism so delicate that anyone can shake it to the core and cause you to resort to such violent measures to protect it?

In what turned out to be an absolute disaster in the Pune Test, high-flying Team India came down crashing to the ground after conceding a massive 333-run defeat at the hands of a much-superior Australian brigade who took a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.
The world no. 1 Test team was not just defeated, but literally humiliated after being beaten in all the three departments of the game. It was the first time in five years that the confident Indian team lost a Test match at home.
During the post-match press conference, the Indian skipper vowed that his side will come back strong in the second Test to peg Australia back. Well, clearly, the hosts need to learn from their mistakes and make adequate changes ahead of the second game. But, amid all the necessary preparations, the Indian team needs to be mentally prepared amongst other aspects.
And, that is exactly what the members of Team India were snapped doing during their recent outdoor excursion.
Kohli and his men shared their photos while trekking at the Tamhini Ghat, which is situated about 80 km from Pune. The likes of Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane and his wife posted pictures of the team outing on social media.
The Indian captain seemed to be in a relaxed mood as he shared his photo while enjoying a spectacular view.

With the second Test slated to begin in Bengaluru on 4 March, this trekking expedition might just be the thing India needs to overturn their fortunes against Australia.

“I'm withdrawing from the campaign. Congratulations everyone. I said what I had to say. I have been through a lot and this is all that my 20 year old self could take. This campaign was never about me but students. Please go in huge numbers for the March. Best of luck. To anyone questioning my courage and bravery I have shown enough. One thing is for sure that we will think twice before resorting to threats and violence and this is all that this was about. I request to be left alone”
These are the words of 20-year-old Gurmehar Kaur—a student at LSR, Delhi University—reflected in a Facebook post, a few hours ago. These words are in lieu of a campaign started by the young girl, daughter of a Kargil martyr; a campaign against violence, injustice, staying quiet and letting evil prevail. These words come after Gurmehar started a brave campaign encouraging students all across India to stand up and fight for their rights and quit being afraid of radical elements. Following her campaign, Gurmehar garnered a lot of following and appreciation with students from all across India standing alongside her. The campaign also invited unwanted radical attention—as is always the case with India—with Gurmehar getting trolled, rape threats and being called anti-nationalist. It led to an extent where she could not take it anymore and so, has decided to withdraw herself from the campaign that she started.
    © Facebook
Many have praised her efforts and stood alongside her throughout her campaign. Many have complained about how unfair it is that she has had to pull out of the campaign now.
As for me, I’m just really disheartened that this is what the campaign has come to. After starting a campaign that inspired so many women, students, especially to stand against the violence and atrocities by student political parties, backing down was not the next move. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what she had to do. Because, unfortunately, if you’re a woman speaking against the majority in this country—nevermind if they’re actually wrong—you’re bound to call upon trouble for yourself. This trouble is the same as the one that women wearing short skirts and working late call upon themselves because, guess what, women simply mustn’t! Yes, the threats, the trolls are very real. It’s as real as walking down a road with men passing lewd comments, listing out the ways they’d want to take you. It’s as real as feeling unsafe and helpless. But, does that mean we stop taking that road? Does that mean we stop fighting for what is ours at its very basic level? Does that mean we stop living a life just because we’re afraid of death and hurt and harm? True, there is so much more to the situation than just standing up for what we believe in. It’s not easy being a woman in India. You’re an object who is not allowed to have a voice; your mouthpiece is probably where males want their genitals to be, every single time you open it. That’s the society we live in. If you speak up, our well-educated politically-backed students want to talk about the several ways they can shut you up with their so-called “manliness”. If you declare your bravery and, thereafter your indifference to their physical strength, they’ll use that same strength to “show you your place”, which is probably being tied, gagged and stripped beneath their feet. That’s what it is to be a woman in India—to constantly be subject to trolls, drools, threats and rape in the most unimaginable ways! But do we stop being women? Do we stop breathing? Do we stop standing up for our right to live, breathe and speak just as freely as others? Do we lose our right to air our voices against injustice and the fact that our law enforcers are blindfolded? No. We stand and fight.
    © Facebook
Over the weekend, I reached out to professors, students and alumni to talk about their firsthand experiences during the Ramjas protests. No male students, or professors stepped up to talk. The female students and professors who did talk requested anonymity out of fear of being tracked down by the members of the BJP/ABVP and attacked. In the wake of people running and hiding under cloaks of anonymity, Gurmehar became a beacon of hope and a mouthpiece for all. She spoke up when no one else had the spine to. And then, one by one, everyone followed in her footsteps. Then, people started speaking up with her. She became an inspiration; her struggles were being felt by everyone who stood with her. No, ace cricketer Virender Sehwag, or Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda had no right saying what they said for the simple reason that they weren’t there, stat! It doesn’t get beyond that. Whether or not they were nationalist or anti-nationalist, or joking or commenting does not change anything at all. They did what is typical of most Bollywood celebrities because at the helm of it, Bollywood is hugely biased on their politics and will never stand against something as “mighty” as the ABVP. They probably live in each others’ pockets, frankly speaking.
The death threats; the rape threats are very real. But, they are as real as the violence that was implemented on a peaceful protest by the ABVP. How is it that we managed to overlook that violence? How is it that we managed to overlook the fact that students and teachers were cornered and then attacked with stones, rocks, metal wrenches and glass bottles for having a peaceful protest? How is it that we overlooked the fact that it all seemed too planned to be spontaneous? How is it that leaders of political student organizations—who are supposed to uphold the welfare of students, universities and colleges alike—took the law into their own hands, turned democracy on its head and decided that might and power were the only determinants of justice in this battle that was started by THEM?! How is it that the police did nothing but look on? How is it that no FIRs were willingly registered when each and every member who protested was a citizen of this country, entitled to their basic rights? How is it that a prominent leader could get away with a heinous death threat in the middle of a police station but one girl can’t get away with speaking out against the atrocities? HOW IS THIS EVEN INDIAN?!
    © Kanuproya Kaikeya
How is the radicalism of a handful of leaders, who hide their ulterior motives under the garb of nationalism, and a few celebrities the nationalism of a country that is home to 1.3 billion souls?  How is it that not even thousands out of these 1.3 billion souls can see the injustice for what it really is? How is it that even after having accepted the unfairness of the whole situation and the fact that the ABVP is wrong, the hundreds who agree with the likes of Gurmehar chose to hide behind anonymity and false names because they’re afraid?! Why are we a democracy if we fear our leaders and can’t even voice our opinion; let alone the judgment of being right or wrong?
Honestly, right now, there are a bevy of questions swimming around in my liberal head; does that make me anti-national? In the eyes of the ABVP, yes; in the eyes of my Constitution, a resounding NO. Does that make me afraid, no. I stand with Gurmehar and urge every sane person with a smidgen of awareness to do the same. The fear needs to go for us to be able to fight as one. Anti-national is pitting one against the other; anti-national is using violence as a decree to impose a thought process on to people; anti-national is using apparent “love and loyalty towards one’s country” as a cloak to mask the atrocities levied on individuals who belong to that country just as much, if not more.
    © BCCL
Anti-national is not peaceful protest to ask for what is rightfully ours—the right to freedom of speech and expression; anti-national is not taking things the right way by approaching the law enforcement of the country to stand with us; anti-national has nothing to do with upholding education, safeguarding the interests of students in the country and the right to education. This is what needs to be made clear; the difference and the ability to distinguish rightfully between the two. Until and unless that doesn’t happen, our women are never safe; our citizens are never free; our rights never implemented; our freedoms never guaranteed; our interest never safeguarded and our country never democratic.
Thousands of Gulmehars can then come, give a message and leave and no amount of protest and appeal will silence the wrongdoing because it is being done by the ones who are making the law.

I’ve been a fan of the Hitman series for almost a decade and its striking stealth-action gameplay has been one of the most influential and iconic systems that many other games have tried to imitate. Initially, the game was released in the form of episodes like a TV show but I waited for the full disc release to review the game. You can kind of relate it to binge-watching you might practise when watching a series on Netflix. The first season of the game is set in multiple locations and we want to start off with the prologue.
    © IO Interactive
The game takes you 20 years back when Agent 47 gets his training as an assassin and is eventually inducted to the International Contract Agency (ICA). The main purpose behind the training is to let players get familiar with the game mechanics, the intricate details and scenarios one could encounter. The game gives you complete control on how you go about your business and I am glad that the game has gone back to its original recipe rather than adopting the action-oriented approach.
The first episode that we encounter is in Paris. The game introduces you to the first large open world scenario where you have to decide how you want to go about your business. The level is set in a museum and it takes place in the middle of a busy gathering of NPCs. You can disguise yourself in various costumes, i.e. you can dress up as a waiter and poison your target’s food or even dress up as a supermodel so that you can get close to the primary target. This the first time you experience the game’s exceptional sandbox type design, which comes together beautifully.

As soon as you finish the first level, you will be transported to Sapienza. You will experience a brand new city, which is alive and has its own ecosystem. The world breathes life much like the market near your house. People are busy with their jobs and tourists are running about trying to get a glimpse of their favourite sites.
    © Io Interactive
You will also notice that the world has gotten bigger compared to the previous episode. There are a lot of details that you cannot ignore and the game makes sure you are immersed in the world. You will have many tools at your disposal to complete this mission. These tools can vary from disguising yourself as a research scientist or as one of the guards to enter the massive mansion.
I would love to discuss every level in detail but I would highly urge you to play the game for yourself to understand what we are trying to suggest. Game styles differ and I usually play a mix of stealth/action since I lack patience at times. Much like the two levels described, you can expect even harder tasks and more scenarios that will enable you to become a lethal assassin.
Gameplay One thing I can say about the gameplay is that it is gratifying to play something that has a very obscure and creative approach as to how you achieve your objective. The game lets you pull off things that you could only dream of in the previous games. The game did have a few drawbacks as to when it comes to the AI of NPCs. There were multiple occasions when these NPCs should have noticed me right next to them but chose to ignore me instead.
    © IO Interactive
The graphics of the game are somewhat unbelievable. The sheer size of the game and a number of NPCs that are present makes me want to praise the amount of work that has gone into the game. It might appear that the game has sacrificed some graphic fidelity, however, do not forget that these NPCs have their own AI systems in place that react/function independently of what is going around you. That is something remarkable and many open world games need to learn how to achieve this feat.
Andrew’s PC Experience The PC port of Hitman was, for all intents and purposes, a semi-decent port. I think it may be optimised for AMD graphic cards because even on the Nvidia GTX 970, I was constantly getting frame drops. But, with the sheer number of people on screen at any given time, plus all the massive locales, the slight frame rate dips are definitely forgivable.
As far as gameplay goes, the keyboard and mouse work extremely well with the game and I found myself using the controller less and less. Agent 47 is a breeze to control and you’ll be garrotting fools in no time. If you’ve played older Hitman games, then you’ll be very familiar with the way the default controls are set up.
    © MensXP
The game looks gorgeous, period! All the six locations look and feel lived in. Paris swims in an air of sophistication and international espionage while the subdued beauty of Hokkaido and Bangkok will leave you slack-jawed. I did not play the episodes separately and pushed through the 6 campaign missions in about a week. I took my time with the game. I shadowed targets and planned all my strategies to a T. If there is one thing I can definitively say about Hitman 2016 is that it is an immersive game that puts you in the front seat of a secret assassin, making you feel like a total badass.
There is a myriad of ways to engage your targets and gunfights are the very last option. You’ll be better served laying back and watching your target. There are also ‘Elusive targets’ that come with their very own timers. You get one shot at these targets and once you die, that’s it. I really liked this mode as it meant you could only assassinate these targets if you’ve mastered the various levels. It made you learn the mechanics and pay attention to every little thing in the game world.
As a PC port, I’ll be honest, I did experience a few frame rate drops here and there but it didn’t take away the joy of stepping into the shoes of Agent 47 once again. This is a definite buy for me.
    The Final Say© IO Interactive
The game is guaranteed to give you the full experience you expect from an AAA game. The game is genius and inspiring on many levels but it also lacks some key functional aspects that can hinder your experience. The game makes you want to be creative and replay missions, which have been missing from many AAA games today. This is a game that requires everybody’s attention.

Every phone manufacturer is announcing a new phone at the Mobile World Conference; however, Oppo’s announcement didn't actually involve a real phone. It might look like a phone because it is a prototype, but Oppo chose to show off their brand new ‘imagine’ technology.
The company claims it has achieved something that no other phone manufacturer can, i.e. bring back 5x zoom to a phone camera without adding a camera bump. They have managed to do that by including two lenses much like the iPhone 7 Plus which are placed at two different focal points.
    © Oppo
Oppo says that the new system is inspired from submarine periscopes, as the lens can move sideways and also make 90-degree shifts. As you zoom in to take a picture, the optical image stabilisation kicks in so that it would enable you to take steady and clear pictures. Oppo calls this system ‘Lossless Zoom’ and they claim that the company does a better job than most phone cameras when it comes to zooming in without degrading the quality.
    © Oppo
If the claims are true, it essentially means that this new system can zoom in far beyond even the iPhone 7 Plus which only has a 2x secondary camera. The reason why it is important for the second sensor to take non-blurry photos is because even the slightest of movements can be picked up at when magnified at such levels.
If this technology works as claimed, it will be a game changer for the smartphone industry as a whole since most smartphones are not known for taking high fidelity pictures when zoomed in. Optical zoom has been ever present on traditional cameras for the longest time and has been one of the biggest factors in differentiation when comparing the two.

I won’t sugar coat it. Extreme belly fat will ruin your health and can lead you towards untimely demise. It comes of no surprise to you that the abdominal fat is adversely detrimental to the smooth functioning of your heart and lungs. Latest studies and researchers have found that the belly fat or visceral fat is also harmful to your bones and is the main reason for lower bone mineral density in both males and females.
    © Thinkstock/Getty Images
The Types Of Belly Fat It isn’t hard to notice that a majority of people today suffer from excessive abdominal fat. We totally ignore the fact that belly fat also invites dangerous health risks. Abdominal fat has been divided into two main types – the first is ‘subcutaneous fat’ lying above the belly muscles and hamper’s the visibility of your abs.  The second type is the visceral fat that is situated deep inside the abdomen and surrounds your organs. If condensing belly fat was as easy as it sounds, we would rather look like a model featuring on a magazines cover page. However, plummeting belly fat is definitely not out of reach. All it requires is a wide-spread NUTRITION attack plan. To fight fat accumulation, you need to maintain a well-balanced gut microbiome, dodge greasy edibles, control the hormones that encourage storage of fat and guarantee you devour essential nutrients. But rather than this, majority of the people fall for these idiotic myths.
Myth 1- Nuts are fattening © Thinkstock/Getty Images
Studies suggest that it’s the quality of fat that matters rather than the quantity. Nuts like pistachio might often give you the feeling of being full, this is mainly because the left-over shells may offer a visual signal for portions, possibly aiding to control intake. Once again, consumption dietary fat within limits will never make you fat.
Myth 2- A beer Belly is caused by drinking alcohol  © Thinkstock/Getty Images
While it is true that consumption of beer will never help in shrinking your waistline but a beer belly isn’t essentially triggered by beer. Belly fat is mostly caused by consuming edibles rich in fat and calories. Although if you adore flaunting six-pack you definitely, need to re-consider your alcohol drinking habits. It’s actually drinking of soda that lends you a protruding soda belly.  A night out  or a slumber party wherein you are chilling over a drink, cocktails and vodka shots can invite the fat to hoard around the belly area. This accumulated fat refuses to bulge even though you follow a well-balanced diet and practice a good work-out regime. However alcohol when consumed in moderation causes no health risks.
Myth 3- Reducing intake of healthy fats help in cutting down belly fat © Thinkstock/Getty Images
A diet rich in healthy fats is the key to an effective weight loss. Fats like olive and avocado oil lend you radiant skin, will enhance hair texture, glowing nails and also offers longevity. Furthermore, these fats help battling cardiovascular diseases and diabetes by stabilizing your blood glucose level. The key is to include just the correct quantity into the diet. 1 single fat serving equals to 1tablespoon of olive oil, ten olives, and avocado’s. One should target for 2 to 3 healthy servings a day.
Myth 4- People tend to have belly fat since birth © Thinkstock/Getty Images
This belief is absolutely false, since the locations wherein your body stock fat is prearranged by your genes. It is untrue that you will tend to become overweight and bulky in those areas. A person having an apple-shaped body tends to accumulate more amount of fats around the belly area, but if they monitor an appropriate diet and exercise pattern, they can easily avert weight gain.
Myth 5- Exercises like crunches reduces belly fat  People usually tend to do a lot of crunches being under the impression that it will help curb their unwanted belly fat. Crunches, coupled with other stomach workouts, ONLY build strength and endurance in your abdominal muscles. However, these exercises do not contribute to reducing the surrounding belly fat. To reduce the stubborn stomach fat, you need to perform full-body cardiovascular workouts that will help burn out calories so you can utilize the deposited fat. In short- body fat is dropped as whole and spot reduction is a myth.
The Evil Hydrogenated (Processed) Seed And Vegetable Oil  We always associate the word seed to be a healthy option driving you closer towards a potential weight-loss. The truth is that industrial and treated seed oil like soybean oil, corn and cottonseed to name a few can hamper the omega 3 and omega 6 ratio in our body adversely leading to a chronic inflammation. Cut off these processed oils and opt for healthy oils like olive, avocado and flax seed oil that will surely enhance your health goals. It’s not only about the quantity of calories but also about the quality of these calories that matters to march towards an effective weight loss. Although keeping your calorie intake in check is key for a holistic weight loss, the consumption of healthy edibles are crucial to melting belly fat and achieving a lean muscle mass.

Having a dong could be weird sometimes- like having a natural toy in childhood and a baby-creator all your life! But amidst all the jacking off and your sessions of peeing, ever wondered how strange it is to have something down there? That hangs, gets bigger with time (sometimes randomly) and even gets to a point that your girl loves fondling with it (and you love her for doing it). We asked 10 men about what makes them feel weird about having a wee wee and here's what they said!
    1. Mr. Send Me A Text, 23 yrs "I could be sitting on a couch, sipping on a cup of coffee and staring at the ocean from my living room window. And there! A fucking boner!!! Like whatsapp me, iMessage me or at least send me a postcard? Just stop staring at me randomly with that uncircumcised head. It's so embarrassing and weird if people are around. But it's fun otherwise. :P" -
    2. Mr. Sexist, 24 yrs "Imagine having a living being hanging down there. Sorry, but it's probably weirder than seeing a baby come out of your vagina."
    © MensXP, Samiksha Sharma
    3. Mr. Get Out Of The Closet, 26 yrs "Just because I have a *****, I hate how I'm naturally expected to shove it in and not receive the favour in return. Why can't I get pegged, why does that make me gay? That's so weird."
    4. Mr. In Everyone's Pants, 22 yrs "Imagine having something that you can stuff every where. And with exceptional, unparalleled pleasure. Like YAASSSSS. But stick to your girl's holes, not hose pipes and weird stuff like that."
    © MensXP, Samiksha Sharma
    5. Mr. Gravity, 27 yrs "I feel the baggage of extra weight on my body sometimes. When I'm naked, just standing in the shower, it feels like there's an entity that's pulling me down. It's nothing, just my *****! It's unexplainable but you feel a weird pull."
    6. Mr. Give Me Justice, 24 yrs "The weirdest and most annoying part about having a ***** is the fact that it doesn't grow in size with your food intake. Boobs grow bigger as the girl gets fatter, why can't the same happen with our dicks? How can life be so unfair?"
    © MensXP, Samiksha Sharma
    7. Mr. Small ***** (for sure), 23 yrs "I dislike the feeling of something growing in size with my nervous system. Why can't it be 8 inches at all times? Or stay a shrivelled 2 inches all our lives. It's so weird to have something enlarge randomly."
    8. Mr. Always Hard, 25 yrs "Isn't this retarded- a stick-like thing hardening on your body when you find someone attractive. Like WTF, so fucking weird."
    © MensXP, Samiksha Sharma
    9. Mr. Vegetables No-No, 24 yrs "I have a ***** and my girlfriend still shoves cucumbers up her vajay. Like really, stop body shaming me, I ain't that bad. It could be for self-pleasure, but the feeling that you're probably not satisfying enough is weird."
    10. Mr. Best Friend Goals, 28 yrs "You're never lonely. And a ***** is the best company to have!"

Ever since the Supreme Court announced a ban on the sale of liquor near national and state highways, ironically liquor has been the only elixir that has helped us cope with the shock of this statement. Come April 1st, half of the clubs will be shut or many places will go and it was only recently that we figured out that Gurugram’s Cyber Hub too will fall under the scanner. In the recent developments, it seems that one entire city might go dry post April 1 and that city is none other than Chandigarh.
    © Pixabay
Anurag Aggarwal, home secretary told Hindustan Times “In Chandigarh, sectors are 1.2 km long and 0.8 km wide. With all vertical roads being state highways, 500 metres on either side of the road covers the whole of the city.” Aggarwal further added, “Thus, all sectors come within 500 metres of state highways.” The road categorization is done in such a way that today all the major roads are state highways along with the one national highway that passes through the city. So technically the entire city will fall under this blanket ban of liquor sale and we can’t even express our frustration over how dry our future is going to be.
    © wikimedia
According to an official, it was decided to declare all major roads as state highways so that the maintenance could be done by the engineering department under UT administration, but in the course of time despite the maintenance responsibility being passed on to the MC, the roads are still state highways officially. Aggarwal also said, “If nothing is done, the entire city will not have any liquor vend or bar in any hotel or restaurant. All of them will have to close down.” Aggarwal further mentioned about a committee that is being set up to come up with a solution for this. While the hoteliers and club owners in the city are panicking, we just hope that the officials come out with a solution soon.

In a bid to overturn their fortunes, Manchester United signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from French club Paris Saint Germain in the summer. But, at 34, many thought that the Swede was already past his prime and might find it difficult to keep pace with the English game.
But, neither the football pundits, nor the fans could have predicted what really has unfolded over the past seven months at Old Trafford. Ibrahimovic has not really adapted to the fast-paced Premier League style but has become one of the most consistent performers for the Jose Mourinho side.
    © Twitter
Ever since his arrival at Man Utd, Ibra has scored 15 goals in the Premier League so far. He has now scored 20 goals and registered five assists in his last 22 outings for the Red Devils. The explosive striker was once again at his prolific best during Man Utd's 3-2 win over Southampton where he scored two goals to propel his side to the EFL Cup title at Wembley.
For a man who came on a free transfer, Ibrahimovic has arguably been a revelation for Man Utd. But apart from his football skills, Ibra has often proved that he is slick with his words too. And his teammate Paul Pogba probably learnt it the hard way.
    © Twitter
During a post-match interview after the EFL Cup win, Pogba was told by a reporter that Ibrahimovic was a humble guy. To which the Frenchman quickly replied that it was probably the reason why Man Utd bought him.
Paul Pogba "That's why we bought him"
Zlatan "Bought me? I came for free. They bought you"
    ??? pic.twitter.com/GVFq1sD6NG
    — BeanymanSports (@BeanymanSports) February 26, 2017 And that's when a grinning Ibrahimovic stepped in and stole the moment, leaving the Frenchman in splits. The Swedish striker told Pogba, "Bought me? I came for free. They bought you."
While Zlatan joined United on a free transfer, Pogba was bought in for a world record fee in the summer transfer window. But unlike Ibrahimovic, Pogba has failed to justify his price-tag following a series of mediocre performances for United.

What’s the first thing that strikes your mind when you hear about Iraq? War-torn area, maybe, oil, that’s a possibility too; but would you ever associate fashion with it? Well, we are not trying to discriminate or anything but there is no denying the fact that the general perception of people across the globe does not have even the slightest mention of fashionable men or women from that area. However, that trend is changing and the credit goes to these handsome Kurdish hunks, who are leaving no stone unturned in introducing Iraqi fashion to the mainstream scenario.

After falling short on the Olympics stage, India's premier shooters Heena Sidhu and Jitu Rai made a brilliant comeback to win back their fans with a 'gold badge' on the fifth day of the ISSF World Cup at the Karni Singh Ranges in New Delhi.
Ending a series of poor results over the weekend, India found their way back to the podium with pistol shooters Jitu and Heena teaming up to strike gold in the mixed team event of the tournament.

"It was good, very interesting, opinions are still divided since it is early days. It will take time to settle down. But we will have to start preparing for this in earnest as this, we assume, is going to be part of the Olympics and World Championships,” she said.

The big deal about Oscars is not just who wins, it’s also about who wears what, who looked ‘yeah’ and who looked ‘naah’. Having enjoyed a sensational 19-match unbeaten streak, Virat Kohli-led India was brought down to the ground by a ruthless Australian brigade who romped to a massive 333-run win in the first Test at Pune.
The world no. 1 Test team was not just defeated, but literally humiliated after being beaten in all the three departments of the game. It was the first time in five years that the high-flying Indians lost a Test match at home.
    © Twitter
Clearly, the Indian team management and the skipper himself weren't pleased with their performance at the MCA stadium. And amid preparations to come back strong in the second Test, a former Indian captain has a piece of advice for Kohli - drop Ishant Sharma and Jayant Yadav from playing XI for the second Test in Chennai.
Mohammed Azharuddin feels that the hammering in Pune has forced the hosts to make a few changes to their line-up. And, Ishant and Jayant are the two Indian players who should be dropped.
    © Twitter
“Any batting debacle leaves a team on the backfoot. I am not saying series is lost but one needs to look at the kind of track that you want to play. I reckon Chinnaswamy won’t have this kind of turn. So my gut feeling is that Jayant Yadav and Ishant Sharma may be dropped from the playing XI,” Azharuddin said.
Explaining his observation, Azhar said: “Going by their batting performance, I expect them to play an extra batsman - that is Karun Nair. He should be replacing Jayant in all likelihood.”
“Also on the tracks that we are playing, Ishant’s back of the length stuff is not going to work. It is better that a swing bowler like Bhuvneshwar is brought into the team by Virat,” he added
    © Twitter
On a pitch that proved to be a landmine for batsmen, Australia scored 260 & 285 in the two innings while India were bowled out for 105 & 107. In the bowling department, Steve O'Keefe (12-70) looked more threatening than both Ravichandran Ashwin (7-182) and Ravindra Jadeja (5-139) combined.
It surely was a lesson learned hard by the Indian team who need to pull up their socks to script a comeback in the four-match series.

We're thanking our stars that Tom Ford's not a usual/safe choice anymore! This year's Academy Awards witnessed an eclectic mix of movies of varied genres, men of distinct walks of life and A-listers that shined with unusual choices in style. While handsome experimentalists stood on the red carpet in all their dapper-glory, classic lovers sent out a loud cry. But we were happy to see how fashion has evolved over the years on the red carpet—especially for a mainstream award show.
Here's our best-dressed list of, from 8 years (hi, Sunny Pawar!) to 60 years….
    Justin Timberlake © Twitter
    Wearing: Tom Ford
Since unfortunately, he couldn’t bring sexy back to the red-carpet, JT opted for some textural play this year. Plus, isn’t the tuxedo giving him an illusion of added height? We are not complaining. Also, what’s up with the haircut, bro?
Pro Tip: When it comes to formal wear, the fit is key. However, most of us choose to ignore it. To add length to your body, opt for a straight-fit tuxedo but with enough room for comfort. Fitted is great, but only for athletic bodies!
    David Oyelowo © Twitter
    Wearing: Dolce and Gabbana
He could have chosen white over black, but that hasn’t stopped David from striking the right balance. He’s kept it classic but kept it impeccably-fitted. And isn’t this all that counts?
Pro Tip: Footwear detailing like tassels shouldn't be restricted to semi-formal wear. Pair them with classic formals to bring the spotlight to your feet, besides breaking the continuity of your otherwise two-toned outfit.
    Sunny Pawar © Twitter
Wearing: Black & White tuxedo paired with quirky Converse
Jimmy Fallon’s and the world’s current favourite tween, and Lion’s lead actor brought out his true self onto the red carpet, in a shiny tux that represented an international star paired with yellow lace-up converse to throw in some child-like play. He’s talented, he’s cute and he’s just aptly dressed, we simply can’t complain!
Pro Tip: C'mon, let’s look at that pair! It has colour, merry and the right zing of casual. When cleaning up for formal occasions, don't ignore the child in you. Mix and match and experience results you've never seen before!
    Josh Dallas © Twitter
    Wearing: Isaia
Isn’t that velvet? We rest our cases here.
Pro Tip: Fabric options are in plenty, so just pick and try. Being self-consumed in fashion will eventually turn you 'boring'.
    Pharrell Williams © Twitter
    Wearing: Chanel
If the ‘Best Film’ drama wasn’t enough for the Academy Awards, Pharrell Williams compensated for anything missing. Just look at those accessories! Daring, magical and amazing! (Sorry, Meryl!)
Pro Tip: Footwear, bow ties, pocket squares aren't the only accompaniments existing. Bring out the metal chains and pair with utmost confidence- there isn't any harm in venturing into the unknown.
    Riz Ahmed © Twitter
    Wearing: Ermenegildo Zegna
He ventured into the waters, played with varied finishes and did complete justice to this stand-out colour (blue!) on the red carpet! It’s not a daring choice, but not a safe one either.
Pro Tip: Two-toned finishes in footwear aren't very casual. If balanced right, they can really take your formal look up a notch. As seen above, Riz's suede ankle-length boots with patent leather caps are unreal!
    Andrew Garfield © Twitter
    Wearing: Tom Ford
The trousers were cropped to perfection and the fit was slimming enough. If the classic B&W was a boring, safe choice- his endless fittings have finally borne fruit. Are the stylists getting smarter or the actors investing more time and money in tailoring? We think both.
Pro Tip: Ever folded shirt sleeves to bring down the seriousness of your outfit? We all have! Andrew brings in that trick here too, however, with the blazer. But notice how the dress shirt's still peeping out? That's key.
    Ryan Gosling © Twitter
    Wearing: Gucci
If there’s one thing men should take away from Ryan Gosling (besides his good looks), it’s got to be that ruffled dress shirt. We haven’t seen one ever on the Oscars red carpet and there could have been no one better than this charmer to initiate a first. Also, STOP CALLING HIM A HUMAN LOOFAH!!
Pro Tip: Soft additions like ruffles aren't feminine detailing. They could play manly too, and Ryan's wearing them, so you should too!
    Aldis Hodge © Twitter
    Wearing: Armani
Boys, this is how you wear embellishments to a big movies award night. Shall we comment on the outfit at all now? We think not.
Pro Tip: Chain yourself to chains already. We know you haven't tried them, so get going now!
    Chris Evans © Twitter
    Wearing: Salvatore Ferragamo
Is blue the next black? We think so! And Chris Evans is waving the flag quite high. Though we’re not quite sure of the all-white pocket square, the outfit, in general, is quite a stunner.
Pro Tip: Feeling the blues? We are, too. Bring this brand-new colour into your wardrobe and pair with whites or monochromatic separates.
    Dev Patel © Twitter
    Wearing: Burberry
Mr. Messy-hair-don't-care and Frieda Pinto’s ex-flame is completely dressing his 'I'm a Best Actor Nominee' part. He’s probably stepped onto the red-carpet to steal all the girls, and boy, he’s really doing just that.
Pro Tip: Always bring along your mom to the red carpet! Jokes apart, a little of scruff does look good sometimes. Especially on someone like Patel. Apply some pomade, run it through the strands, and then shake your head to lend a natural look!
    Mahershala Ali © Twitter
    Wearing: Ermenegildo Zegna
With contrast lapels and the hint of a printed pocket square, Mr. Ali’s monochromatic ensemble is quite a stand-out. Again, safe but in true boss-man style!
Pro Tip: Printed pocket squares work great for single colour outfits. So if you don't one, invest in one piece already!
Oscars Trend Report for Men: Blues, texture and oodles of drama.

After tweeting out to PM Narendra Modi on Friday, little did Shilpi Tewari know what would follow. But within a day, came along one of the most incredible Twitter-sponsored interventions in recent times.
A package containing the peacock blue scarf and a black-and-white printout of her tweet signed by none other than PM Modi himself.
It all started when Tewari, an ardent follower of the Indian Prime Minister and a vociferous supporter of his government on social media, tweeted: "I WANT that stole of @narendramodi!!"

After showcasing his acting prowess in the 2009 blockbuster ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, Indian-origin actor Dev Patel stunned the world last year with the exceptional movie ‘Lion’, based on the real-life story of Saroo Brierley who tries to find his lost family in India with the help of Google Maps. He was nominated as the Best Supporting Actor for the same at the 89th Academy Awards aka the coveted Oscars. While everyone had their eyes glued to the red carpet to see who that lucky lady Dev will walk in with is, he surprised everyone by bringing his mom, Anita Patel, as his date and our Desi mom slayed it like a boss and stole the show. They are possibility one of the best and cutest mother-son duo so far and the pictures only confirm the same.
    © Reuters
Dev looked dapper in a white tuxedo and his mom complemented him looking every bit a drop-dead gorgeous woman in a black sari. There is no denying that women across the world swoon over this handsome Gujju boy but after watching this sensitive and warm side of his, we are sure those women will be sighing while drowning in his love all over again. As for Mommy Patel, she totally rocked the night with her desi avatar and we don’t think there was any Oscar appearance as perfect as theirs.
    © Reuters
Anita Patel was seen smiling from ear to ear beaming with pride over her son’s achievements, just like how a proud Indian mom would feel. From Mindy Kaling to Mahershala Ali, people were in awe of her persona and loved how she rocked the sari amidst the huge ocean of women wearing gowns and dresses.
Oh hi Dev Patel's mom, I see you and you are the worlds cutest person
    — Mindy Kaling (@mindykaling) February 27, 2017
By the end of the award night, Anita Patel had already become a star in her own right and the Twitter doesn’t seem to get over this cuteness anytime soon.

    — Nerdy Asians (@NerdyAsians) February 27, 2017 Like a doting son, dev couldn’t stop gushing over his mom and his love melted many a hearts of the Twitterati. What’s more, we think it’s time for her to take a look at Bollywood already because her cuteness can give all the current mothers a run for their money. While Dev might have lost to Mahershala Ali in the race for Best Supporting Actor Award, he definitely won people’s hearts across the globe.

‘Koffee With Karan’ seems to have finally heard the pleas of the audience because the guest list is now becoming better, there is more juice in the episodes and one can finally watch it with popcorn. The promo for the next promo also looks like a breeze. After all, it is the one-man-act talent house, Kapil Sharma.
    © Starworld
After rumours were doing the rounds that the episode was scrapped, last night the promo put everything to rest and by the looks of it, we are glad. Kapil is unabashed, honest and witty as ever! He openly claims that he will shift to Hindi from English and is so funny about it.

He then offers advice on not drinking and tweeting. When asked to translate ‘Fault In Our Stars’, he coolly says ‘Shah Rukh Khan ki galtiyan.’

Last year’s Oscars ceremony was a memorable affair, thanks to the exceptional role of Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie ‘The Revenant’ that won him his first Oscar award. This time around, there is no disappointment whatsoever and trust us your Monday blues will be gone when you find out that your favourite movies and actors not only managed to get nominated for the coveted titles, but also won them like a boss. Here’s the list of winners who stole the show at Oscars 2017.
Best Picture – Moonlight © Plan B Entertainment
Moonlight tells the story of a young black man named Chiron and how his life unfolds in the caring hands of the community that helps raise him, while growing up in Miami. This Barry Jenkins’ directorial venture is based on the play ‘In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue’ by Tarell Alvin McCraney.
Best Actor – Casey Affleck (Manchester By The Sea) © Reuters
Actor Casey Affleck stunned everyone with his performance in the movie ‘Manchester By The Sea’ where he played the role of Lee Chandler, who becomes his 16-year-old nephew’s guardian after his brother’s demise. What then follows is a journey to his past and reopening an unspeakable tragedy.
Best Actress – Emma Stone (La La Land) © Reuters
This American beauty has won several hearts with her exceptional acting in ‘La La Land’. She played the character of Mia, an aspiring actress who meets Sebastian and together they overcome many hurdles to achieve their dreams in a city infamous for destroying hopes.
Best Animated Feature Film – Zootopia © Walt Disney Pictures
Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, this animated movie tells the story of animals living in the city of Zootopia and how they thrive to live and deal with their own struggles. Honestly, there is no age restriction when it comes to watching animated feature films and when the movie is a masterpiece like this, we don’t see any reason to miss it.
Best Foreign Language Film – The Salesman © Farhadi Film Production
Emerging as the dark horse of a race, ‘The Salesman’ directed by Asghar Farhadi, has won the award for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars 2017. However, Farhadi could not attend the event, but still took this opportunity to take a dig at Trump’s immigration ban. ‘The Salesman’ is a story about a young couple, Emad and Rana, who live in Tehran and how their life changes when they move to a new apartment.
Best Supporting Actor – Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) © Reuters
American actor Mahershala Ali won the best supporting actor for ‘Moonlight’ and was highly appreciated for his role of Juan, a Cuban crack dealer who plays a key role in Chiron, the protagonist’s life. If you haven’t seen the film yet, you should definitely go and watch it.
Best Supporting Actress – Viola Davis (Fences) © Reuters
American actress and producer, Viola Davis, won the best supporting actress for the movie, ‘Fences’. Viola plays the wife of Troy Maxson, a mid-century Pittsburgh sanitation worker, who wanted to become a baseball player, but was too old by the time the major leagues started taking in players.
Best Director – Damien Chazelle (La La Land) © Reuters
This year saw ‘La La Land’ slaying it like a boss at the Oscars and while the movie took home many awards last night, the proud director, Damien Chazella wasn’t far behind as he became the youngest winner of the coveted title in the history of Oscars.
Best Documentary Feature – O.J.: Made In America © ESPN films
Directed and produced by Erza Edelman, ‘O.J.: Made In America’ is an American documentary for ESPN Films. This was said to be released as a five-part miniseries.
Best Original Screenplay – Manchester By The Sea © Reuters
Kenneth Lonergan won the award for the Best Original Screenplay for the movie ‘Manchester By The Sea’.
Best Visual Effects – The Jungle Book © Walt Disney Pictures
Robert Legato, Adam Valdez, Andrew R Jones and Dan Lemmon won the award for Best Visual Effects for the movie ‘The Jungle Book’. In our growing years, the stints and adventures of Mowgli always made us sit on the edge of the chair and this Jon Favreau directorial project did not disappoint us at all.
Best Animated Short Film – Piper © Pixar
Within a few hours of its release, this short film melted many hearts, probably faster than the melting ice on warm surface. Written and directed by Alan Barillaro and produced by Pixar Animation Studios, ‘Piper’ tells the story of a baby sanderling, who starts noticing the beauty of underwater world after coming in contact with a group of hermit crabs.
MensXP congratulates all the winners. Here’s to the joy of watching more marvels like these in the following days!

Shah Rukh Khan, the king of B-town and romance got emotional recently when he was conferred with the Yash Chopra Memorial Award. SRK has always been a Chopra favourite and pelted many hits including ‘Darr’, ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’, and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ being the last movie that Yash Chopra directed himself.
    © Twitter
An emotional Shah Rukh shared his sentiments as he accepted the award. “I am extremely undeserving (for the award) but I am happy that the jury considered me for it. The reason for this is genuinely a gracious, wonderful and fantastic feeling that the whole family has given me over the years. This can be the only reason for this. It can’t be my talent. So, it feels really special to receive this award. It is very personal. I can’t express how emotional it is for me. It is a personal moment for me, having worked with him for 20 years, right from when I started and then to lose him as we walked along the path of filmmaking… it is emotional for me.”
    © Twitter
He also called it as the biggest honour of his life. “This is one of the most important evenings of my life. I am very emotional. Yash Chopra has single-handedly created my career. It is a strange circle that I am receiving an award, which honours him and is in his memory, and I am who I am because of what Yash Chopra made me do.” The occasion was also graced by Rekha.

After more than three long hours of Trump shade, candy (and cookie) rain, uncomfortable Matt Damon jokes and Casey Affleck’s dirty beard, we were NOT ready for this. We were simply not prepared for a Steve Harvey-circa-Miss Universe moment at the Oscars. But in a shocking plot twist, what someone on Twitter described as an epic finale to Black History month, ‘Moonlight’—a movie about a black gay teenager from a rough neighborhood in Miami, won over the hot favourite musical, ‘La La Land’. Warren Beatty flubbed ‘La La Land’ as the winner (by reading out from a wrong envelope) before correcting himself seconds later. Yikes!

The Oscars are a big deal alright and are considered to be the primitive platform that honours talent from around the world. While there are so many categories of awards, there is one category that is the ‘Memoriam’, where talented artists from across the world are honoured posthumously. This year, during the Memoriam mentions, Om Puri was also honoured.
    © Twitter
An actor par excellence who marvelled on screen and was a delight to watch, Puri had won hearts across borders. His roles in some Hollywood movies that were loved by all include ‘East Is East’, ‘City Of Joy’ and ‘The Hundred Foot Journey’, amongst others. Bollywood is celebrating for him today and it is a proud day for us.
