The Oscars are almost here and just because some films are nominated for these prestigious awards, doesn’t mean it saves them from ridicule. Screen Junkies came out with their own take on all the Best Picture nominations and it is hilariously spot on.
The witty parody video also points out how these films were able to bag the nomination. And their jabs were not just limited to the nominations. With a subtle hit at "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", they talked about how "Arrival" is "Amy Adams' second film this year about trying to relate to an alien that no one gets along with."

A complete dissection of ‘’Moonlight’’ shows how it checked all the boxes needed to win an Oscar because it's based on a coming-of-age play with a main character who is a minority, gay and broke. That’s all them boxes ticked, huh?
In "Manchester By The Sea", Casey Affleck plays a character who must live in a sibling's shadow, throwing shade at Casey’s real life as he’s the brother of a better-known actor Ben Affleck.
Well, you can watch this hilarious parody video for yourself!

Swara Bhaskar is one of the most versatile actresses in Bollywood right now, and the trailer of ‘Anaarkali of Aarah’ just confirms the fact again. Directed by Avinash Das, the film has Swara Bhaskar playing the lead as an erotic singer in Aarah in Bihar. Feisty and bold as Anaarkali, she is a hit with the locals, but things change when she raises her voice against molestation by a local politician.

From a spunky erotic singer to a woman taking on the rich and powerful by the horns, Anaarkali’s transformation is spectacular. Swara’s dialogue-delivery is goosebump-inducing brilliant, and it looks like the film will be equally powerful.
With seasoned actors like Sanjay Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi starring in the film, this one could be totally worth the wait. The film releases on 24th March 2017.

It’s only been little over a month that Trump has assumed Presidency and the state of affairs has gone already haywire. After the idiotic decision of banning the entry of Muslims from 7 hand-picked countries, legendary boxer Muhammad Ali’s family was next on the list. His son was detained at a U.S. airport because of his surname. Yes, because he is a Muslim.

Reports have emerged that Muhammad Ali Jr. was detained and held in custody by the airport police at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida. He was returning from Jamaica with his mother on 7th February after speaking at a Black History Month event there. While his mother was let go upon producing a picture with Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ali Jr. had no such picture and the police detained him. “He was very shaken up about it. He has never been treated like this before. He didn’t know what was going on, and asked [immigration], ‘Why are you doing this? My father is Muhammad Ali’ and they just didn’t seem to give a crap,” Ali's family friend and attorney Chris Mancini told RT. He was repeatedly questioned regarding his name and the fact that he was a Muslim.

It was only after more than two hours that he was let off.  Not only is this blasphemous but it also instills fears amongst Muslims all over the world trying to simply enter America. Trump’s a cunt!

The first Baahubali set the box office and the internet on fire. It was everywhere. Everybody was talking about it. So much so, that the dialogue ‘katapa ney Baahubali ko kyun mara’ became a meme sensation. The anticipation of the second installment is such that people are eagerly awaiting the release date. Adding fuel to the fire, SS Rajamouli, the director of the magnum opus tweeted a new poster of the film on the occasion of Shivratri.
    Here take a look

Prabhas can be seen standing tall on an elephant, probably symbolizing his return from the dead. There’s massive anticipation for the movie and this poster just made the wait more restless. We just can't wait for the movie to come out!

We all know how the Galaxy Note 7 performed when it came to bursting into flames. However, a recent video shared by Brianna Olivas on Twitter shows a smoking iPhone 7. The video shows the device burning at such high temperatures that you can see the case melting away. You can also see smoke from the sides of the phone, which confirms a fire in the innards of the device.
Apple responded to the video in a very brief statement to Mashable and a spokesperson said that the company is looking into the matter and is in touch with Olivas. “We are in touch with the customer and looking into it,” an Apple spokesperson said.
Olivas says that her iPhone 7 Plus started acting up a day before the actual incident. She took the phone to her local Apple store when the phone refused to switch on. Apple representatives said that everything was in working order at the time after running a few tests. The device started working again after running the tests however, Olivas faced even more issues the next morning.
Olivas said that she left her phone charging while asleep and when her boyfriend picked up the phone he noticed the smoke.
“The next morning I was asleep with my phone charging next to my head, my boyfriend grabbed the phone and put it on the dresser. He went to the restroom and from the corner of his eye, he saw my phone steaming and heard a squealing noise.
By the time he got over to the phone it had already caught fire, he quickly grabbed the phone and threw it in the restroom. As soon as he threw it in the restroom is blew up and more smoke started coming out of the phone.”
It is not the first time an iPhone has caught fire due to overheating where in the past it was caused due to the phone being under a pillow or in a pocket. However, Oliva’s case is very strong thanks to the video that was posted and some users on Twitter have blamed Olivas’s ‘liquid case’ for the cause of the fire.
Nevertheless, one should not jump to conclusions that every iPhone 7 Plus device is going to face a similar problem as this is a one-off incident. Since the Note 7 fiasco, there has been a cautious focus on smartphones that are prone to catching fire, however, this incident does not come close to anything of that magnitude.
Check out the video below which shows the iPhone 7 Plus emitting smoke from its sides before it caught fire.

Ed Sheeran is on a roll these days; what with his new hit music topping charts and creating ripples all over the world. We’re blown, really. But just when you think he can’t get any better, he goes and gets way better than that.
Recently, at the Brit Awards, Sheeran was spotted walking out of the After party with his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn. But, that’s not it. He walked out with her Christian Louboutin heels in his hands and his own sneakers on her feet.

    Daily Mail UK
    Here goes the story:
Apparently they had partied so hard together that Seaborn’s heel broke, leaving her with quite a limp. Sheeran being the chivalrous boyfriend, who is head over heels in love with his girlfriend wasted no time taking off his own trainers and giving them to her so that she wouldn’t have to limp, or walk barefoot. And the paparazzi obviously went crazy.
Right now, honestly, we’re going a little crazy, too. Ed Sheeran just set boyfriend goals to an all-time high. How does one compete?

After coming across multiple variations of Yoga such as Rage Yoga, Beer Yoga and even naked Yoga, we thought that we have seen it all. But these two Scottish dudes performing yoga in kilts (sans underwear) has left us dumbfound. Amidst the picturesque landscape and soothing background music, Finlay and Tristan are slaying it with their yoga prowess and their astounding poses have already garnered them several views and fans on the Internet. Finlay is a yoga instructor from Dundee and Tristan is one of his students.

While we Indians take immense pride in introducing Yoga to the world, Scotland has really upped the game with #kiltedyoga and gave it a whole new dimension, which has clearly become a hit among women. This video was posted by BBC The Social and within a few days of its release has received millions of views. Also, please sit through the entire video, you won’t be disappointed. It wouldn’t be wrong if we say that the last few seconds of the video is the most unexpected yet amazing part. The NSFW shot where these boys perform a headstand has compelled the women across the world to drool and get mesmerized in the rhapsody of their carnal sentiments. Check out the video here.
The video seems to have hit the right chord or should we say has hit right in the feels, and social media giant, Twitter, can’t get over these two hot buffs. Dear men, you now have some serious competition!

This is what has become of racism in the United States of America. Two Indians were shot on the pretext that they were Middle Eastern. The shooter, Adam Purinton, a 51-year-old American, is supposed to have hurled racial slurs at the two Indians—Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani—before having shot them dead.
    Facebook
The two were regulars at the Austin’s Bar and Grill, where the incident happened and were known as the Jameson guys for having always ordered a glass of Jameson’s whiskey. “They are super nice guys. They would sit, have a cigarette, have a few drinks and pay their tab and leave,” recalled the bartender, Garret Bohnen.
The incident has created a stir and obviously racial unrest across the two countries, with the Charge d’Affaires MaryKay Carlson, stating that “The United States is a nation of immigrants and welcomes people from across the world to visit, work, study, and live. U.S. authorities will investigate thoroughly and prosecute the case, though we recognize that justice is small consolation to families in grief.”

Alia Bhatt's alleged beau is a new fashion star in the making! While his stint with movies started with 'Student of the Year' in 2012, Sidharth Malhotra's first tryst with impeccable fashion started just recently. Reason? His super-star stylist, Akshay Tyagi! From wearing college-wear for the longest time to flaunting the best in menswear fashion today — this new international star (courtesy: Nirav Modi) is giving us major style envy. Here are 8 outfit detailings by Sid Malhotra that brought him to our notice!
    1. Colour Pops
    © Instagram
Wearing your neighborhood store, H&M, and Alexander McQueen- Sid's idea of a colour pop is a real sell out! If you're wearing just two plain colours and missing some fun in life, bring out a bright hue to channel A-List fashion.
    2. Casual Accessories With Formal Wear © Instagram
If style rules are to be believed, we can't be endorsing this pairing. But let's admit, day wear calls for relaxed styling decisions! So bingo, bring out the tinted sunnies and your crisp white sneakers and turn style rules into your playground for the day.
    3. Solid Coloured Spots For Disguised Drama © Instagram
You don't always need them, but they're great conversation starters. SOTs on the outfits are going to get you compliments, so keep the cockiness ready and confidence stellar! Solid-coloured outfits could be mundane to the eyes, so always give them a boon (aka SOTs) they can't refuse.
    4. Pocket Detailings With Contrasting Fabrics
    © Instagram
They store your extra coins or maybe nothing at all sometimes, but shirt pockets really complete the look. So give them the attention they deserve! Invest in a fabric that's eye-grabbing, colour-appropriate and one that compliments the feel of the primary fabric. For example, thick shirt fabrics won't pair well with flimsy ones!
    5. Contrasting Finishes Are A Boon To The Eyes © Instagram
Matte and glossy (two opposing finishes) don't go well together. However, Sid proves it wrong! While pairing a matte-finish tuxedo with patent leather shoes, he's only looking luxe! But remember to keep the colour scheme low-key, you don't want to look like a visual mess.
    6. Define Fluid Fabrics With Zippers  © India.com
We all love zippers, but use them carefully! Pitch them against black and they exude the right amount of metal and use them to add definition to a piece and they're the perfect detailing to flaunt. Plus, since Sidharth Malhotra's wearing them, you should too!
    7. Printed Pocket Squares As Focal Points Of Solid Outfits © Instagram
Besides the innumerable ways of turning boring into exciting, here's another one. Bring prints/patterns into play while working with one colour! They'd turn into the focal point of your outfit in a split second and get you compliments all day long.
    8. Ripped Jeans With Peek-a-boo Prints © The Quint
They're a complete rarity on celebrities, but Sidharth Malhotra wore them first! Incentive enough, they're now almost everywhere (in tartans, gingham, and pinstriped variants), but the camouflage ones on Sid are a must-buy! Keep the rest of the outfit simple and refrain from clashing prints.

So wait, there is a world record for breaking; no, smashing the most number of coconuts in under a minute. And it was previously held by a man named Muhamed Kahrimanovic of Germany who had smashed 118 coconuts within a minute. However, as of today, the new record is held by one certain P. Domanic of Poonjar, of Kerala who broke all of 124 coconuts in a minute! He did so at an event held at Sobha City Mall in Thrissur where he is an employee at the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation.
Here’s the video to prove it all!

How many coconut pieces could you eat in a minute, let alone smash?

Somewhere in the ruins of war-torn Mosul in Iraq, is a zoo that is crumbling under the repercussions of the war and is now survived by only a lion and a bear, which don’t really seem to be in good condition either. Mosul’s Montazah Al-Morour Zoo was once home to a huge number of animals, was left devastated under ISIS rule and most of the animals including a lioness, monkeys and rabbits were either killed or died because of starvation. However, before the two remaining animals could breathe their last, thanks to the international animal rescue team, Four Paws, they were saved this week and provided with veterinary care and food. The team was headed by Dr. Amir Khalil.
    © YouTube
Identified as Simba (lion) and Lula (bear), both the animals were found in miserable condition, suffering from various diseases. According to the organization, the animals were struck by malnutrition and while the bear was suffering from pneumonia, the lion had bad joints and both had very bad teeth. It is believed that for the last three months, the zoo was on the front line of an armed conflict that occurred between militants and the Iraqi army. Both the animals managed to survive because of the help they received in the form of scraps of food, from the natives and local volunteers before Four Paws came to their rescue. However, after a point people couldn’t come to help as they had to save their own lives as well.
    © YouTube
As told to Reuters by the park’s owner, Abu Omar, “the battle lasted for three or four months. There was a guard that used to come and feed them.” After the Iraqi army took over the region from ISIS, Four Paws managed to treat the animals and have managed to arrange food for the next few weeks. Check out the video here where the team is seen providing aid to the animals.
While those animals were saved in the nick of time, we want to ask - was it their fault to find themselves in the middle of a place struck by war? What did they ever do to meet such a fate?

Whatsapp’s newest update is a big and rather redundant one. The newly introduced ‘Status’ feature lets users upload photos, videos, and GIFs that disappear after 24 hours, just like Snapchat stories. Like always, Twitter was completely ready with jokes and this is what people are saying.
Snapchat Stories got married to Instagram Memories and exactly after nine months here comes WhatsApp Status Stories.

It’s been thirteen years since we saw Samurai Jack air on Cartoon Network. Then again, it’s been thirteen years since we were kids, too. Not to make you feel bad about the fact that you’re old now, but, kind of that, too.
But, there’s good news, you guys. Come 11th March, we’ll get to see our favourite Samurai kick some serious ass all over again on our age old favourite TV channel, Cartoon Network. To be released by Adult Swim, the episode is titled ‘One vs Many’ and there’s a short video giving us a preview of what’s yet to come. Here, watch:

It looks and feels darker than the original series; but, then again, that’s kind of what Samurai Jack was—it was so bloody ahead of its time for kids that age. We literally can’t wait to watch this one!
    Yes, yes, rejoice peasants!

Back in 1979, a 16-year-old Jadav Payeng started planting trees in Majuli, a small Indian island threatened by erosion and ravaged by floods that had led to widespread deforestation and animal losses. Today, his trees have transformed into a lush forest spanning over 1000 hectares.
Payeng single-handedly converted a barren land into a full blown forest which is now home to wild elephants, rhinos, tigers and deer. He was even honoured with the title ‘Forest Man Of India’ by Former President of India A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and is also a recipient of Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India.
    © Youtube
Photographer Jitu Kalita, who also lives in the Jorhat district in Assam just like Payeng, showed the world the amazing story of Jadav Payeng in a short documentary film. The short film titled "Forest Man", directed by William Douglas McMaster, even won the Best Documentary for American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014.

Very recently, an Ed Sheeran dance cover of ‘Shape Of You’ by the boys of IIT-Roorkee took the internet by storm. With over 5.2 million views on the video, it has become an online sensation and riding on the success wave are these boys from India’s most prestigious engineering institution – the coveted IIT. What makes them tick?
While hundreds of coaching institutes thrive solely on the promise of getting you through the IIT-JEE entrance exam and parents spend sleepless nights worrying over their child’s impending engineering future, it comes off as a rather unsettling surprise when you see those very IITians grooving in style to Ed Sheeran’s latest song. There’s nothing nerdy about that! Sharmaji ka beta can crack the IIT but he can also pull off a crackling dance move!

We got in touch with the IIT-Roorkee boys who are the current online sensation and got some IIT scoop from them. While Devarsh, Meet, Satyabrat, Priya, Apurva and Sambhav are the performing cast, Ankush is the director of the video, or like they say, the man behind the show. The Cinematic Section of IIT-R or ‘Cinesec’, as it is called, provides a great platform for activities like dance, music, theatre to its students. Read on to know how Sharmaji ka beta ended up being a dancing star!

Tell us 3 things nobody knows about IIT!
Ankush: “The SI unit of a placement package in IIT is lakhs, not crores.”
Devarsh: “You get to play snooker at just 10 bucks per hour.”
Yash: “IITians are awesome (I am not being boastful here). You just need to hang out with them.”
How did IIT and dance come together?
Meet Saparia– Well, in all honesty IIT provides its students with a very good platform to showcase their talent; be it dance, music, movie-making, dramatics etc. You name it and you’ll find one amongst us working on it.

Tell us a little about all those involved in the making of the video.
Ankush: “I was the director and the cinematographer with Ramanjeet Singh (a 3rd-year Undergrad and our senior), who happens to be the backbone of the video, helping us in almost everything from the start. Yash Trivedi and Rohit Verma edited the video. Many people from our Cinematic Section constituted the Production Team and Promotion Team. And, of course, we had the 4 awesome dancers.
Sambhav: “Devarsh, Meet, Satyabrat, Priya, Apurva and I were the performing cast. All of us, along with Ankush, worked on the story. Most of the choreography was done by Meet, who has been in the TOP 32 at ‘Dance-India-Dance Little Champs’-2010.”
Did you have professional help? What was your budget?
Most of the professional help that we had was from our well-experienced seniors, who guided us along the plot right from the beginning. And we often do videos without some considerable amount of budget. Whatever small costs are incurred, we manage them among ourselves or the institute covers them depending upon the scale. The college provides the equipments.
How is life after the newfound internet fame?
Ankush: “Well, the only thing that haunts me now is the thought of coping up with the situation after the fame fades away! The bar has been raised too high!”
Meet: “It’s really overwhelming to see where the video has reached. Life is indescribably great. Every moment a sense of achievement rushes through our mind and gives us goose-bumps. It’s freakin’ awesome!”

How difficult is it to find a girlfriend in IIT? We hear horror stories of the gender ratio being 1 girl: 10 boys.
Satyabrat: “Much more difficult than understanding quantum mechanics.”
Meet: “If a guy finds a girlfriend in IIT, then I bet there’s nothing that he can’t do in his life.”
Have you been getting a lot of female attention after the video?
Ankush: “Youbetcha! That’s all I gotta say! Inboxes are full and requests are flooding in.”
How studious were you guys, considering you are enrolled into THE IIT?
Ankush: “Well, when it comes to studies, we don’t leave an iota of effort either!”
Satyabrat: “We were just regular on studies, a few hours every day. It’s not like we missed other things on account of our studies. And vice-versa.”
So, you were basically Sharmaji ka beta and Dance India Dance rolled into one? India is jealous of you right now!
Ankush: “They don’t have to be! Just like we did it, anybody could have done it! You just have to get out there and do it. Internet will take care of the rest. And believe me, luck matters a lot, really a lot!”
Meet: “In lot of our YouTube comments we were mentioned as “ Sharmaji ke bete “ but it’s just a matter of passion, having a true passion for a craft will always result in something good. Don’t let it fade, hold it tight and dear!”

How has your IIT experience been so far? Are IITians really better than other engineering graduates in the country? What sets them apart?
Ankush: “The only thing that sets us apart from the others, as per my thought, is that we constantly keep working on something. We constantly get supported by our seniors, peers and alumni, and the most dreaded thought we possess is that of sitting idle.”
What’s your most painful/embarrassing moment in IIT so far?
Sambhav: “All the semester examinations have been painful and the results have been embarrassing.”
    Are you guys single?
    Yash: “Not anymore!!!”
Devarsh: “We just discussed about the gender ratio, so you know.”
Meet: “Definitely not after this video!”

What is the worst thing women do to men?
    Yash: “Performance Pressure!”
Ankush: “Sending ‘Hmm..’ for a chat reply.”
Sambhav: “Bhaizone (One can survive friendzone, but Bhaizone is like electric chair!)”
Meet: “Starts talking to you seeing that you are famous now!”
The IITians shot to fame as entertainers with the (in)famous sutta video. Then there’s another IITian writing best sellers. What makes you guys hog all the limelight and burn all competition?
Ankush: “Frankly speaking, we are yet to enter the competition with the likes of Chetan Bhagat, TVF already there. In fact, we’re far too amateur to be even considered in the limelight! But we’ll meet you there someday!”
What are your favourite TV shows?
Ankush: “’True Detective’ is my inspiration for film-making, and so is its creator, Nic Pizzolato. Apart from that, I really loved the cinematography of ‘Utopia’.”
Sambhav: “Game of Thrones”. Couldn’t get enough of it. I wonder how George RR Martin came up with the idea and the whole plot.”
    Yash: “‘Friends’. How you doin?!”

Any advice for aspiring IIT candidates? What would you tell the young lot taking tuitions and burning the midnight oil to crack the dreaded IIT-JEE test?
Ankush: “It’ll be best if they keep on attending their coaching sessions and follow their teachers rather than listening to us! Yeah but we can surely assure them of a really fantastic and exciting life over here!”
Meet: “All the hardwork that goes for clearing JEE is definitely worth putting in; because the life is really amazing and fantastic.”
Sambhav: “They should focus on studying qualitatively rather than quantitatively. Studying for hours won’t help if it lacks concentration.”

“The total number of people living with depression in the world is 322 million. Nearly half of these people live in the South-East Asia Region and Western Pacific Region, reflecting the relatively large populations of those two areas which include India and China,” says the WHO report, titled 'Depression and Other Common Mental Disorders - Global Health Estimates’.
We’re talking about a report released by the World Health Organisation that has revealed disturbing statistics about India’s growing condition of depression and mental health, becoming more than a bothersome issue that more people need to start talking about. The report revealed in a lot more detail, that the total cases of depressive disorders in 2015 in India were 5,66,75,969; 4.5 per cent of population in 2015 and the total cases of anxiety disorders were 3,84,250,93; 3 per cent of the population in the same year.

What this means is very simple—Depression is a disease that is affecting Indians in a way larger than we imagined. It’s easy to talk about depression being an issue; being depressed; talking about people who have been through depression. What’s not easy to do is face facts about the disease and then talk numbers and statistics and what we really are doing to fight this; to actually help people. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in this situation. According to the document, 7,88,000 people died due to suicide in 2015. Suicide is supposed to have accounted for approximately 1.5 per cent of deaths worldwide, making it one of the top 20 leading causes of death in 2015. Suicide, the report claimed was the second leading cause of death among 15-29-year-olds globally in 2015.
    Where does this place India?
According the 2014 report published by WHO, India accounted for the highest estimated number of suicides in the world in 2012. It added that one person was committing suicide every 40 seconds globally.
We’ve started acknowledging and talking about depression more openly than we did before. And that right there is a step forward. But, we need to do more. We need to stop judging, pressurizing and isolating individuals who might need our help. We need to talk more openly and stop trivializing the subject.
We need to step up our mental healthcare regime majorly.

When I started lifting for the first time back in 2010, the most common question people asked each other (apart from how to boost TESTOSTERONE) was,” how much do you bench”? Fast forward 7 years, things haven’t changed much. Maybe the question has taken a cool avatar in the form of “HOW MUCH YA BENCH”?  The good old bench press pretty much explains your Upper Body strength (pushing strength). While it’s not ‘everything’ for chest development, it still plays a huge role. Nobody will ever ask you “how much you barbell curl/Lat-pull down or cable fly” unless they are real idiots. So please stop being a BEAST in such exercises and enter the real world. Here’s how you can boost your bench.
    1. Do It More Frequently © ThinkstockPhotos
A smart man once said, “If you want to be better at something, do it more often”.  It makes sense but more frequent here doesn’t mean hitting the bench every time you go to the gym. Frequency will vary depending upon your training experience and recovery abilities. I will say one time a week is very low. Most people will be better off doing it 2 times a week. Start doing this and you will notice a major difference in your pushing abilities. Spread it in 2 sessions per week evenly after 72 hours. That means if you hit the bench press on Monday, do it again on Thursday or Friday.

To look impressive, bros put 1.5 to 2X the weight they can actually handle. As a result, they end up doing either half reps or their spotter standing behind them does the majority of the work. This is what I am talking about.
Not only can this lead to injury but also you are never actually contracting your muscles enough. Each time you are simply feeding your ego of copying someone who has spent years under the bar. Unless you have any shoulder issues you should be doing full reps always.
    3. Use Leg Drive © ThinkstockPhotos
When you want to move maximum weights, you need to take help from your legs as well. How do you do that? By placing your feet firmly on the floor directly below your knees, make sure your whole foot is touching the ground. This not only provides you a stable base to push from but also helps transfer force from the ground.  This creates a kinetic chain.
    4. Warm up effectively © Muscle and Fitness
As a lifter advances in his ability to press more weight, he realizes the importance of an effective warm up before a big lift or a heavy set. Most people just hop on to a treadmill or cross trainer as their common warm-up ritual but this is not optimal, especially when you are working on upper body movements. Although having some blood flowing in your legs isn`t a bad thing but you are better off warming up those major muscles which will primarily be used in your bench press which includes:-Pecs, Front Shoulders and Triceps. There are many ways to do it. Here try these-
    • Doing isolation movements of all these muscles for a set or two.
    • You can simply do 1-2 sets of bodyweight push ups
    • Start warming up on the bench itself with an empty bar and increasing weights gradually and the number of reps decreasing with each weight, taking you closer to your working set.

Our MLAs and ministers have often been portrayed in the negative light for being unwilling to help or not caring enough for their people. While some are criticized for watching porn in the state assembly, others are famous for passing lewd comments and statements on sensitive issues. But, this notorious reputation is slowly turning into a positive one, thanks to the commendable efforts of some ministers who are going out of their way to help people in need. Our External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj has already set the trend by putting Twitter to good use and acting as a messiah for Indians stuck abroad.

Another remarkable incident happened in Mizoram where Dr. K Beichhua, an MLA switched his political responsibilities for a doctor and put on the gloves to help save a woman’s life when the surgeon was away. This incident is of Saiha district hospital and the doctor who was originally supposed to perform the surgery was away on a training program in Imphal. Dr. Beichhua is a 52-year-old qualified MBBS graduate from the Regional Medical College in Imphal and has worked as a general practitioner for nearly 20 years, before joining the Mizo National Front (MNF) in 2013.
As reported to Hindustan Times, Dr. Beichhua said, “I was informed that a 35-year-old woman was having severe abdominal pain and needed to be operated immediately. The woman’s stomach had a large perforation (hole) and if the operation had not been performed, she may have died.” So, immediately he left his political duties and rushed to operate on the woman and saved her life. “I visited her on Thursday and she was laughing,” Dr. Beichhua added.

Reportedly, the Saiha civil hospital has seven doctors and only one of them is a surgeon, who wasn’t there when the woman needed help. The officiating deputy commissioner of Saiha, N Chakhai reportedly said that Dr. Beichhua brought up the surgery in a meeting when he was addressing the shortage of doctors with the District Development and Coordination Committee. Dr. K Beichhua, is setting a commendable example that people need to learn from.  His act has yet again proved that humanity is and should be the first and foremost priority for anyone and as long as such thoughtful people are present in our society, one can be assured of getting help in time.

Religion has become one of the most flouted and exploited terms in the world. People have killed in the name of religion and people have burned in the name of religion. And to add to that, it doesn’t help that almost all of our religious leaders propagate a flawed idea of what appeals to their own religious motive. Religion has become a commodity.
And so, it comes to us as a breath of fresh air when Pope Francis, the current head of the Vatican and head of the Roman Catholic community across the world decides to call out the hypocrites with one strong statement. On Thursday, the Pope condemned members of the Church who lead double and hypocritical lives, suggesting that it was better to be an atheist, instead.

    Vox
“It is a scandal to say one thing and do another. That is a double life,” he said during one of his private morning Mass sermons, at his residence. “There are many Catholics who are like this and they cause scandal. How many times have we all heard people say, 'if that person is a Catholic, it is better to be an atheist'.”
Pope Francis, who was elected in 2013 as the head of the 1.2 billion-member Roman Catholic Church, has never spared words when it comes to speaking only the truth. He has always been the flag bearer for practicing what is being preached in Catholic doctrine and therefore, as a religious leader, he remains one of the most popular ones in the modern world.
We wish more leaders were like him.

In an initiative undertaken by All Loktak Lake Fisherman's Union, with the support of an NGO - People Resources Development Association (PRDA), a school has been opened at Langolsabi Leikai of Champu Khangpok village, in Manipur. Lokatak lake is the largest saltwater lake in the country and now holds the first of its kind floating elementary school.
    © Facebook
Known as the ‘lifeline of Manipur’, the lake was already an important part of Manipur, but this new floating school just made it even better. The main aim of this one of a kind school is to provide education to dropout students, who were rendered homeless due to the recent evacuation of phumdis.
    © Facebook
And if that wasn’t enough, the school will also cater to illiterate adults as well, and will accommodate 25 students and two teachers from the community.

"As most of us are uneducated and mostly depend upon on fishing as a meagre source of income, we are unable to send our children to school to another place. So, looking at the current scenario, we decided to set up a primary school here initiated by All Loktak Lake Fishermen's Union in collaboration with People Resources Development Association," said Oinam Rajen Singh, a local.

"Once the programme is successful and provides quality education to students, we will expand our project and increase the classes as well. Based on India govt. drive on free education to all, we will increase the class up to 8th standard so that opportunities are also given to the drop-out students," he added.

All India Bakchod main man, serial roaster, and comedian, Tanmay Bhat has lost a dramatic amount of weight—more than 110 kilos to be precise—under the able guidance of his fitness coach and trainer, Ranveer Allahbadia. Over the last few months, Ranveer has helped him, “...transform from a walking heart attack to the chicken breast fuelled strong mofo that he is today” (sic).
    Source: Instagram
But this journey was definitely not easy or without hardships. Tanmay’s trainer, Ranveer Allahbadia a.k.a BeerBiceps, recently took to Instagram, to explain the science behind his dramatic weight-loss. Read on...
    Points to be noted:
“He went on a gradual caloric deficit. Cut calories VERY gradually - cut about 200/day every week. Eg.Week 1- 3000/day. Week 2 - 2800/day. Week 3 - 2600/day. You should NEVER crash diet unless you want to lose muscle.” (sic)
    Source: Instagram
    2) "Went on a high protein diet (backed by heavy amounts of hydration). He's 6'3 and was consuming between 180-220 grams of protein every day. Overweight people can build muscle even in a caloric deficit — IF they eat a lot of protein. Burn fat + build muscle together.” (sic)
    3) “Lifted like a beast — Deadlifts, squats, bench presses, overhead presses. It’s amazing what heavy lifting can do for a human being's body. Unfortunately, India still believes that weight training is unhealthy. This man is a living, breathing example of the power of weights.”
    Source: Instagram
    4) “Took up Keto in bursts. Gave him the occasional weight loss boost. Most of the time, my boy was following the above guidelines.” (sic)
    Source: Instagram
Ranveer further went on to add, “That is all. There is no secret to burning fat. Tanmay is not satisfied with where he's at yet. Knowing how driven he is, I am sure he will achieve his end goal. I helped him with a part of his journey & now he's hustling by himself” (sic).

Moral of the story? If he can do it, so can you. No. More. Excuses!

It’s always the hero who charms us the most. But our collective experience of a great movie is never the hero alone. Beside the storyline and direction, it is the sheer brilliance of the supporting cast. One such actor who has been quietly making his presence felt with his small but great performances is Kumud Mishra. You probably remember him as the guy from ‘Rockstar’ who helped Ranbir manage his career or as enterprising newspaper editor who influences an entire case and wins public favour for Akshay Kumar’s character in ‘Rustom’. Kumud Mishra acted in 5 movies last year and so credible has his performance been that each of roles essayed is as convincing as the previous one.
    © Prateek Entertainment
Starting with ‘Airlift’ this year, he played Sanjeev Kohli, the joint secretary of MEA, who plays a pivotal role in getting help for the Indians stuck in Kuwait. He brings in the most important trait that was required in the role – sincerity. The simplicity of a government employee who works in a 9-to-5 setting, coupled with the sincerity of a man wanting to help his fellow Indians is so palpable in his character that you almost feel sorry for him.
    © Zee Studios
As the newspaper editor in ‘Rustom’, he provides much-needed comic relief to the film but also acts as a clever cog in the wheel of Rustom’s trial. Siding with fellow Parsi Rustom, he totally blends in the role of the Parsi editor all too eager to report on the sensational story rocking the nation.
    © Yash Raj Films
He plays Aarfa’s father and a wrestling coach in ‘Sultan’. As a coach, he is intuitive and gives Sultan a chance to fight at the state-level wrestling championship; and as a father, he is supportive of his daughter’s choices. Kumud Mishra’s presence brings in an air of dependence and reliability and he makes for the perfect supporting cast.
    © Fox Star studios
As the practical and worldly Mr Dowal in ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’, he had a blink-and-miss role but he still managed to add weight and variety to a film that essentially belonged to Sushant Singh Rajput.
    © Eros International
But his most memorable role so far remains that of Khatana in ‘Rockstar’, where he plays friend, philosopher, guide to Ranbir Kapoor’s character Janardhan. He is the only character who witnesses Janardhan’s journey from a nerdy college kid to a troubled rockstar.
    © UTV Motion Pictures
He is as credible as a terrorist in ‘Filmistan’ as he was as the kind-hearted middleclass Khatana in ‘Rockstar’.
    © Fox Star studios
More recently, he was seen in ‘Jolly LLB 2’ as the corrupt policeman involved in a fake encounter, though the role didn’t allow his character much room to evolve.
While the start of the year has been good, we hope to see more of him in the coming months!

The first day of the ongoing Pune Test between India and Australia at the MCA stadium saw two unlikely heroes emerging from both sides. While Umesh Yadav (4-32) ran away with the top honours on a turning wicket for India, Mitchell Starc (57*) surprisingly turned out to be the knight in shining armour for Australia.
Coming in to bat with the visitors reeling at 190/6, Starc played a freewheeling innings to give some respectability to an otherwise underwhelming effort by the Australians on first day's play.
    © Reuters
He stitched a face-saving 10th wicket partnership of 51 runs with Josh Hazlewood (1*) which may prove crucial in the later stages of the game. Doing all the heavy lifting including five boundaries and three sixes, Starc also notched up his 9th Test fifty and also went past 1,000 runs in the longest format.
In the process, Starc became the 14th Australian cricketer to score 1,000 runs and claim 100 wickets in Test cricket. But, that was not all.
    © Reuters
Australia's bowling spearhead also claimed a unique Test honour that seems to have taken social media by storm. Having scored three sixes in his innings so far, Starc now boasts of 26 sixes in Test cricket.
And, believe it or not, his tally of the big hits is more than some of the biggest names in cricket.
    © Reuters
To everyone's disbelief, Starc's 26 sixes in Tests is surprisingly more than Virat Kohli's tally (12) of big hits. Starc has smashed a whopping 14 sixes more than the Indian captain in Test cricket.
Mitchell Starc has hit 14 sixes more than Virat Kohli in Tests. #IndvAus pic.twitter.com/9eCRsv1eia
    — CricTracker (@Cricketracker) February 23, 2017 The 27-year-old is even better at sixes against the likes of Rohit Sharma (25), Rahul Dravid (21), Alastair Cook (11), Steve Waugh (20), Graeme Smith (24) and Graham Gooch (25).
Well, for a cricketer who plies his trade with fast-bowling in cricket, Starc has arguably more than just fleeting talent with the bat.

Things seem to be rosy when two people enter a relationship, but when both of them walk out, those roses prick like a thorn, leaving them with bitter feelings and hatred towards each other. When a couple gets divorced, the kids are also crushed between the warring parents. Separation, fighting for the custody of the kids and never looking back seems to be the best option. Now, while some would prefer to stay away from their ex-partners and not cross paths with each other ever, Billy Flynn Gadbois from Boston is setting an example that is not only commendable but also something that parents should keep in mind while getting separated. One should take this piece of good parenting advice from Billy.
Billy is a divorcee who for her ex-wife’s birthday, put a lot of effort to surprise her, helped his kids out with cards, gifts and breakfast. Now most people will wonder why he did that. No one asked him to do it, nor was he obligated to surprise his ex-wife. We are sure you too might have thought the same initially. But Billy’s response has left us stunned and has taken the standards of parenting to a new high. Instead of looking down on his partner, he is teaching his two boys to respect women and not be affected by others’ failed relationships.

His story was shared on Facebook and within no time, it went viral and people on the internet were in awe of him and were commending his ideology. In fact, many people shared similar stories and it shows that Good Samaritans haven’t completely vanished from the society.

At the end of the message, he says “Raise good men. Raise strong women. Please. The world needs them, now more than ever” and we couldn’t agree more. We hope that more people follow suit and set an example in front of their kids. People like Billy give us hope that our future generation will be instilled with good values and respect for women, something which is the need of the hour.
