    A teaser had been released back in October but there was hardly anything we could gauge from it. This teaser introduced us to all the characters once again with Baby Groot stealing the show with his cuteness (The easiest paycheque Vin Diesel ever got, huh?).
    We were “hooked on a feeling” with the first Guardians movie and this time around they’ve gone with another classic, “Fox on the run.” It’s just as catchy.
    The best chemistry, once again, is between Rocket and Groot. Who thought a movie with such acting firepower would have two digital characters stealing the show?
    Remember that scene with Rocket on Groot’s shoulders? They re-created it in the teaser, but it’s a little different this time. Check it out.
     
    We can’t wait for May 2017. Also, we can’t wait to see how the Guardians meet the Avengers which should happen by the end of the movie. Mark your calendars.

    An Electronic music duo from Mumbai, Paraphoniks comprises of Shatrunjai Rai Dewan and Sid Shirodkar. The duo’s shared love of modular synthesisers and other electronic instruments is what brought them together in the first place. They combine modular synthesisers with conventional instruments like guitars and keyboards to create a truly unique approach to both making music and live performances.

    Paraphoniks released their first album ‘Handwired’ just last year and received lots of attention for their work. They started to establish themselves and impressed people immensely with their live shows. 

    For their second release, ‘Yarns’, Paraphoniks moved on from their repetitive dance beats that dominated their first album to more synth heavy electro-pop sound. 

    Besides Paraphoniks, Dewan does a lot of live sound engineering and also has a solo project called monophonik, whereas Shirodkar writes music for ads occasionally.

    Yuvraj Singh recently got married to Bollywood actress Hazel Keech. That isn’t the news here though. The news is that Hazel will no more be called Hazel from now on. She has converted to Sikhism and her new name is Gurbasant Kaur.

    It’s a well known fact that Yuvraj and his mother are ardent followers of Saint Baba Ram Singh Ji, who also gave Hazel her new name. Surprisingly, Yuvraj’s father gave his son’s wedding a miss as he doesn’t believe in Baba Ram Singh Ji and his dera. He apparently wanted to maintain distance from the religious guru. Half British half Indian, Hazel converted right before getting married and was repeatedly addressed as Gurbasant during the ceremonies at the gurudwara. 
    The couple got married in North Goa as per Hindu traditions at the Teso Waterfront, a beach side resort in Siolim.     What happens when you put an engineer in a frustrating situation? What happens when he has to painfully make his way through traffic day in day out? Something like what this 24-year-old IT worker did. He hacked into an electronic billboard and streamed a porn film, much to the amusement of commuters during peak rush hour on a busy intersection in Jakarta.
    Although the power to the board was promptly turned off, commuters did get a look-see of the Japanese porn film ‘Watch Tokyo Hot’ for a good 10 minutes. Of course, people took videos that are now all over the internet.
    The enterprising man, who was eventually arrested, has claimed full responsibility for the act.
    We must remind you here that Indonesia is a conservative country with a Muslim majority. In the country, porn websites are blocked and other forms of nudity on media are heavily censored.

    Since time immemorial we have been playing games on our smartphones (technical just a few years), but even today we don’t know about one tenth of the games that are available on the Google Play Store.     The ‘Kahaani 2 - Durga Rani Singh’ trailer left me flummoxed, mainly because quite a bit of the plot was given out.
    A woman gets knocked down by a vehicle after her daughter is kidnapped. A cop investigating the accident finds a diary written by the woman and stumbles upon her past, where she possibly murdered and kidnapped a child. Could the same child be the one she now calls her daughter?
    All this was covered by the film’s rather linear trailer, and left me wondering, “What did I miss?”
    After watching ‘Kahaani 2’, I realised that I didn’t miss anything at all. What the trailer made the film look like - a fast-paced thriller rather than a simmering mystery like its predecessor, ‘Kahaani’ - is exactly what ‘Kahaani 2’ is. The makers aren’t trying to pull a fast one on us here, like they did in the first film (showing flashbacks that eventually turned out to be fake). Instead, ‘Kahaani 2’ is a straightforward but mostly compelling film, relying more on drama than mystery.
    ‘Kahaani’, which released in 2012, was a taut thriller about a pregnant woman looking for her missing husband in Kolkata, which pulled the rug under audiences’ feet with a final twist. A cast led by an actor at the top of her game, memorable characters (Remember Bob Biswas?) and a gripping, slow-burn narrative kept you hooked through its 2 hour-plus runtime, ending with a revelation that few saw coming.

    A sequel carries baggage with it, of either living up to or outperforming the original, and creates expectations that may have not existed earlier. ‘Kahaani 2’ suffers from being a part two of something. While the first ‘Kahaani’ benefited from the “surprise” element, the second feels weighed down by it. A lot of effort seems to have gone into writing the climax as one big plot twist (also strongly felt in ‘Te3n’, by the same team), and that disrupts the rhythm the film retains till that point.
    Director Sujoy Ghosh has made the sequel darker and creepier (fine work by Tapan Basu behind the camera), and ensured the tonality supplements the deeper themes his co-writers are dealing with this time around. Ritesh Shah, Suresh Nair and Ghosh keep the tension up for most part, swiftly moving between past and present and lending characters quirks that make them interesting. The third act, however, remains awkward - and even though it’s not as forgettable as it was in ‘Te3n’, it does take away a lot of the sheen.
    In most instances, a film is remembered by how it leaves you feeling - not necessarily due to how it ended, but based on how well the different parts fit together. The first Kahaani’s parts fit together more snugly in that sense, even though the sequel aims for more.
    The only element - apart from Kolkata - that the film needed to retain was, of course, Vidya Balan, who makes a fine return-to-form as actor. Balan’s had a bad run at the movies lately (for no fault of hers, of course), and in a film that does complete justice to her presence, she nails the part. In Arjun Rampal, Balan finds a dependable costar, and the actor delivers a finely-controlled, dignified performance. The supporting cast is pitch-perfect (Jugal Hansraj has never been better). Manini Chadha makes a fine debut as Rampal’s wife. Their domesticity punctuates the tension nicely.
    ‘Kahaani 2 - Durga Rani Singh’ is worth a watch, for its treatment and performances, but only if you don’t pin your hopes on that final kahaani mein twist. This tale could have done without one altogether.

    Bulking is just an excuse for dudes who are lazy and don’t give a damn about nutrition. I’ll keep it real—this whole ‘bulking and cutting’ thing is bullshit. There’s no credible science behind this and young guys in the pursuit of building muscle are wrecking their metabolism and body composition doing it.  Here’s what you need to know.
    The Mass Monsters Era And Bulking - How Healthy Eating In The World Of Bodybuilding Was Murdered  Rewind to the 60s and the 70s, or better said the ‘Arnold Era’. This era produced some of the most legendary bodybuilding physiques of all times. In their off seasons, these dudes weren’t becoming balloons of fat. The MAX they went up to was 2-8 kilograms over their competing weight.

    Then it was the Dorian Yates or the ‘Mass Monsters’ era. The dudes were HUGE. From steroid abuse to overeating and even by avoiding walking, these men chased noting but mass. Hence, the concept of bulking and cutting was born.

    What came out to the public was the amount of food they were eating, not the amount of stuff they were injecting. People didn’t know the science behind their monstrous diets. With the help of juice and solid workouts, for every 10 pounds they gained, they made sure more than 6 pounds was muscle, not fat!  This is where everything thing went out of hands.
    90% Of The Dudes Turn A Clean Bulk Into A Dirty Bulk In The Pursuit Of Taking In Calories Take a look around your gym. Most guys who say they are on a bulk, have a huge gut hanging out or probably in the making. This is what bulking for most boils down to- ‘just workout and eat whatever, whenever you can’. This is simply disastrous. Old School bulk was never about sneaking in a pizza or gorging on fries after a tough workout, it was about eating calorie dense clean foods.
    Here’s The Science. I’ll Keep It Short  And Straight. 1) Bulking increases body fat which decreases insulin sensitivity. You’ll become fatter and muscle growth will slow down.  
    2) The fatter you get, the better your body gets at hoarding more fat. Major fat deposit areas will be around the abdomen and chest. If the bulking is too prolonged and predominantly dirty, loosing this fat gets daunting.
    3) While cutting, you’ll lose way more muscle than you think. Bodybuilders are drugged which helps them preserve a lot of muscle. You are natural, you’ll lose muscle.
    4) After a point, your muscles will start getting softer because the body will start storing calories in muscle tissues along with the adipose tissue.
    Building muscle does require a calorie surplus environment but that doesn’t mean stuffing everything that’s eatable. You can lose fat and still build muscle at the same time.

    Haseeb Hameed is one of few English players to have impressed one and all with his impressive skills in the tour to India. Hameed, who made his debut against India in the Rajkot test match is just 19 years of age and has made 219 runs in three test matches. Despite a very good start to his test career, Hameed has left India because of injury he sustained in the last test match in Mohali.
    Hameed, whose parents emigrated from Gujarat to England in search of better opportunities, tweeted this before stepping on the plane to England.

We all have our go-to relaxing song when we want to lessen the ache in the heart or when the world feels a little too much to deal with. Turns out, there is one song that is scientifically proven to be the most relaxing song in the world.

    Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson of Mindlab International conducted a research to determine what music was the most relaxing and helped in reduced stress levels the most. The participants of the study were made to attempt some really difficult puzzles that were known to induce stress, as they listened to different songs. Their heart rate, blood pressure and breathing rate were monitored to see which song had the highest calming effect. 
     And it was found that the song that the most relaxing was ‘Weightless’ by Marconi Union, and it reduced anxiety levels by as much as 65 %. 
      While we are overjoyed that there is a cheat code to keep your nerves together when you are stuck in Delhi traffic with drivers honking from all sides, the song is not really a surprise as it was specifically created for this purpose. It was created for a spa and the makers of the song worked in tandem with sound therapists and put together all notes, harmonies and tunes aiming at lowering stress levels in the listener.

    In the study, it was found that the song was so impactful that many women reported feeling drowsy listening to it, which is why Dr David Lewis-Hodgson advises against listening to it while driving. In our fast-paced and extremely competitive world, stress levels are shooting through the roof. People as young as 30 are suffering from heart problems and experiencing ageing way too early. There is too much in life to worry about and we should do as much as we can to keep that stress at bay.

    A chance meeting and an amazing jamming session in Fort Kochi between two musically inclined guys (Achyuth and Ashwin) led to the creation of When Chai Met Toast .The band from the coconut land is famous for its chirpy  and very uniquely infectious happy music that is sure to make you feel light even when you are having a bad day.

    It consists of four members: Pai Sailesh on the drums, Palee Francis on the keyboard, Achyuth Jaigopal plays the guitar and banjos and Ashwin Gopakumar is the lead vocalist. The band’s musical genre is Indie-folk-alternative but they describe their genre as ‘happy’.
    They released their first EP earlier this year named ‘The Joy of Little Things ‘and they describe it as “A proper filled out, flushed out record which, brings out a neofolk sound and promises a lot of happy storytelling”. They say that their aim is to create acoustics that transcend age, genre and even language.

    In the winter of 1962, invading Chinese troops made a bold statement when they decided to venture and capture deep Indian Territory at the height of the Sino-Indian war. With every passing hour, the Chinese aggression on the Indian side was increasing in intensity and something needed to be done to at least put a temporary end to the Chinese advances across the Indian territory. And this is when they decided to attack and capture Rezang La in Ladakh.
    Rezang La pass is located at around 16000 feet near Chushul. Commonly also known as Ahir Dham because of the local inhabitants’ Ahirs, the pass was one of the most critical nerves held by the Indian army in Ladakh, one whose cessation to the Chinese would mean total surrender by the Indian army. In that context, when the Chinese troops attacked Rezang La, not only did they attack a major Indian post but also struck a heavy blow on the Indian Army ego.

    The Charlie Company of the 13th Kumaon regiments was led by the legendary Major Shaitan Singh Bhati. Stationed at Rezang La with 120 men under him, Shaitan Singh took the bull by its horn and decided to hold ground against hordes of Chinese attacking under heavy artillery fire from the Chinese side. The Indian side, however, couldn’t hope for a defending artillery fire as it was situated behind a hill feature thus leaving the 120 brave men to fend for themselves.
    The first attack from the Chinese came from the Nullah, a dry river bed, and was successfully thwarted by the Charlie Company with the help of the machine gun. The Chinese didn’t expect such strong retaliation from the Indian side and regrouped to launch a second attack which almost eclipsed the first one by a ratio of 3:1. This too was well defended by the boys of the Charlie Company.

    But Shaitan Singh knew that he couldn’t sustain it for too long because the next Chinese attack would overwhelm his brave men even if they stood their ground in case of a total rout. He moved from one post to another to motivate his squad and asked for their ultimate sacrifice in the name of their motherland. And they did.
    On that day, 114 of the 120 odd jawans lost their lives in service to the nation. There have been many estimates as to how many Chinese men were killed which range from 500-2000. When the bodies of the Indian men were fetched, many of them were still holding onto a bomb. A medical help was found with a syringe and bandage in his hands. This meant that the attack was on from the Indian side when many of the posts were overrun by the Chinese, meaning the Indian men didn’t leave their posts till they were physically confronted by the enemy and still died on the field with bombs in their hands.

    General K.S Thimayya, one of the most recognized soldiers of the Kumaon regiment who served as the Army chief once said this about the battle of Rezang La: “You rarely come across such example in the annals of world military history when braving such heavy odds, the men fought till the last bullet and the last man. Certainly the Battle of Rezang La is such a shining example."
    Major Shaitan Singh, who died motivating his company, became only the second winner of the Param Vir Chakra which was awarded to him posthumously. Other fighters who were awarded the Veer Chakras included Naik Hukum Chand (posthumous), Naik Gulab Singh Yadav, Lance Naik Ram Singh (posthumous), Subedar Ram Kumar and Subedar Ram Chander. In the end, Shaitan Singh and his men proved that no matter what the odds, some battles are just worth dying for.

    As the toll fee collection on the national highways reportedly resumes on Friday midnight, the government has decided to issue redeemable cash coupons at toll plazas. Post demonetization, it is being anticipated that there might be a shortage of small denomination currency which might add up to the never ending traffic jams across highways.
    The toll collection was suspended from November 9, to make sure that the traffic is smooth, following the groundbreaking announcement by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 old notes. Now that it is being resumed, this move if implemented properly, can act as a silver lining in the cash crunch scenario. The toll plazas will start issuing them from December 5 onwards and the travelers can redeem those coupons at all the NHAI toll plazas till December 30. What’s more, the balance amount will be refunded till January 31, 2017.

    These coupons will be distributed to the toll operators by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in denominations of Rs. 5, Rs. 10, Rs. 50 and Rs. 100, across all the 370 toll plazas. These coupons can be then disseminated to the commuters as change. As of now, the toll operators are accepting old Rs. 500 notes till December 15. However, it will only be for purchasing smart tags and where toll fee exceeds Rs. 200.
    One of the highways ministry official said, “It’s a short-term measure to tackle shortage of small denomination currency and address traffic jams at toll plazas.” “This will be an additional facility along with the existing system of paying by cash and smart tags,” he further added. Moreover, another ministry official said that these coupons can’t be used to make transactions anywhere else.

    Reportedly, the NHAI is planning to issue 25 lakh cash coupons per day across toll plazas and the officials said that the coupons worth approximately Rs. 1 crore will have to be printed. But, whenever there is a new initiative implemented, some geniuses always find out some way or the other to get one step ahead of them. So, to make sure that coupons don’t get forged, NHAI is coming up features like hologram, two dimensional bar codes and unique numbering, as precautionary measures.     
    In fact, to help people pay toll fee, the toll plazas will have sufficient number of point of sales machines so that people can use debit/credit cards to make payments and can also use electronic wallets. With the ever growing queue of cars on the highway, this initiative will definitely bring some relief to all the commuters.

All you will have to do is call for an ambulance, they will reach at your doorstep, take your pet to the nearest government veterinary hospital and post the treatment they will drop them back at your house. This is a great initiative and we hope that other cities and states will take lessons from Chandigarh to help the animals.

Your intelligence, your love for what you do, your personality – nothing matters, because despite all of that, you’re just a three letter word – FAT. That’s the beginning and end of discussion.
    That’s what fat shaming is. Mocking someone for being fat so much, that the jokes stop being funny. “It’s all in jest” you may say. But you know what; it’s not a joke if it begins to affect someone’s life. No, don’t even try to justify it. They’re laughing at themselves because that’s the only option most of them have. When the whole world is joking about you, the best you can do is laugh along. Saves you the public embarrassment, you see. That they may go back home and cry themselves to sleep or just go deeper into depression or develop personality issues as kids is none of your business, of course.

    We’re all flawed. We all have bad habits. But apparently, being fat accounts for constant judgment and public humiliation because their flaw is so much more visible than yours. Oh, am I making it sound way more dramatic than it is? LOL sorry about that. Well yeah, of course, fat people are spared the social isolation that homosexuals face. It’s not like people don’t want to talk to fat people, or sit with them. Of course they do. Society is SO accepting towards fat people, they can hardly complain. Who doesn’t want a fat friend they can poke fun at? A fat person is like a goldmine of jokes. I mean come on, it’s in jest, remember? How would arguments be fun until you can shut the other person down by making a fat joke because you have nothing smarter to say? Doesn’t matter what the argument is about, everybody laughed, you won.

    There could be multiple reasons why an overweight person is the way he is. It could be the genes, it could be their body type that makes them put on weight faster than others, it could be a result of their mental instability, it could be because of their terrible eating habits, or much like you already guessed, he could just be a person who loves his burger way more than his life. Yes, it’s unhealthy to be overweight. Yes, it could kill them one day. But that’s their life. They may be ignorant towards their health or it could just be a ‘wrong’ choice, just like you continue to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day knowing its harming your lungs. Either way, his body is none of your f*cking business. Either way, your nasty comments and jibes aren’t really ‘helping’ the cause anyway. So, stop pretending like fat shaming ‘encourages’ a healthy lifestyle. You’re not fat shaming them because you want them to get better. You know it’s nasty and mean but you’re doing it still, because you can. You’re doing it because it’s ‘funny’ to you. You’re doing it for the laughs, at his expense, over something that affects you in no way but might be their biggest insecurity. You’re probably doing it because it makes you feel better about yourself. Or maybe, simply because that’s the only sorry comeback you’ve got to put them down. Mostly, you’re doing it because you’re an insensitive prick. You don’t ‘shame’ people if you want to motivate them to lose weight. You get to know them; you make them understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle, you help them achieve it, you don’t humiliate them. No, you can’t possibly justify shaming. If you still disagree, we’d love to know how exactly you inspired and encouraged that guy back in school you barely know just by ganging up against him with your friends so much that he had to change his school? Tell us how much you really cared for that kid.

    Tanmay Bhat spoke about being fat shamed as a kid and how he used his flaw as his biggest strength. There will be many more people who emerged stronger after getting bullied for being fat that you might want to quote in defense. But guess what, it still doesn’t justify bullying and fat shaming. Here’s the thing, different people have different ways of dealing with criticism. Some people hit back harder, some fall. Some even drown in depression, just FYI. Don’t understand HOW that happens? Well, we’ll get there some day but let’s start with the simpler things first. Encouragement means different things to different people. It means a push to some and a lot of support to others. Just because someone took it in their stride still doesn’t make your actions any better. And anyway, we already established – nobody ever fat shames with the intention of encouraging someone, anyway.

    Of course, being fat is unhealthy. But you know what’s unhealthier? Fat shaming. Simply put, stop hiding your insensitivity under the pretense of ‘help’. If you really want to help them, help them get fit in real. And more than that, stop assuming authority over how someone should live their life. Don’t make people feel like sh*t about themselves just because feeding off people’s insecurities is what helps you sleep at night.

    Sports journalists and pundits regularly list out the individual merits of both players in an attempt to argue who they believe is the best player in modern football. But, what if they play in the same team, taking long strides beside each other towards the opposition goal? Now that's a sight every football fan would probably kill for.
    The fact that the two exhibit different styles of play would surely make a team invincible. Imagine a team with Messi's low centre of gravity and agility complimented by Ronaldo's pace and impeccable vision. Messi's grace and elegance in tandem with Ronaldo's power and aggression would arguably bamboozle the best defenses in the world.

    Since, Messi has a comparatively higher defensive work-rate than Ronaldo, he can play in the midfield to assist the Portugal captain in front of goal. Messi's ability to work in tight spaces will allow him to go past the defenders before curling the ball into the box where Ronaldo can make the most of it with his perfectly timed header.
    Even while taking corners, Messi's greater curve and vision can be put to good use by Ronaldo's better jump and heading accuracy to convert the chance into a crucial goal. They would undoubtedly be unstoppable together.
    Now the chances of the two footballers playing in the same team in future might be less than seeing the pigs fly, but the duo could have been seen in the Barcelona jersey together if the Catalan club could have signed him in 2003. Yes, you've heard it right.

    Barcelona almost ended up signing Ronaldo when he was just 18 years old. Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that the Catalan club was offered to sign the Portuguese footballer for 17 million Euros. 'When we [the new administration] arrived, we signed Ronaldinho, [Rafael] Marquez and [Ricardo] Quaresma,' explained Laporta to AS.
    "We were in a process of reconstruction. Cristiano was at Sporting and he was close to signing for United. The player's agent, Jorge Mendes who was handling Marquez and Quaresma said, 'I've got another really good player who's called Cristiano Ronaldo', he revealed.

    Ronaldo eventually moved from Sporting Lisbon and joined Manchester United for 19 million Euros in 2003. He spent six glorious years at Old Trafford before Real Madrid made him the most expensive player in the world when they paid an estimated 94 million Euros to United in 2009.
    The past will definitely not change, but when Ronaldo and Messi take the field on Saturday in the high-intensity El Clasico, one can surely wonder what it would've been like watching these two superstars together in one team.
