‘Blank Cheque Mila?’ India-Pak Fans Curious If Ramiz Raja’s ‘Rich Investor’ Was Real Or Not

Babar Azam and the Pakistan cricket team have started their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign on a rather promising note after they defeated two cricketing juggernauts in India and New Zealand earlier this week.

While there is no doubt that the squad has been performing at a high level, and the kind of victory that they bagged against the Men in Blue also humbled a lot of outspoken fans across the border, everyone is still curious about something that the newly-appointed chair of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raja had said ahead of the tournament.

Making an appearance in the Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial affairs with the hopes of raising funds for cricket in the country with the help of domestic business owners and investors, Raja had mentioned the existence of a “strong investor” who was willing to give him a “blank cheque” if his boys managed to defeat the Men in Blue.

"One strong investor told me that a blank cheque is ready for the PCB if Pakistan beats India in the upcoming T20 World Cup," he said at the standing committee.

Now that they did defeat Virat Kohli and his squad in their first encounter of the 2021 tournament, and managed to end their infamous losing streak against India in ODI and T20 World Cups, fans on both sides of the border were keen on learning more about that “blank cheque” deal that was made between the PCB chair and the rich investor.

Just checking; Did Pakistan cricket get that blank cheque yet?

Dilemma is that person who offers that has become blank to see such unpredictable performance

Pakistan will be taking on Afghanistan in their third match of the tournament today at the Dubai International Stadium, the very venue where they got a 10-wicket victory against Team India and announced their presence in the international cricket set up as the ultimate underdogs.

On the other hand, our Men in Blue are preparing to take on Kane Williamson and his Black Caps on Sunday, which will also take place in Dubai.

India have lost the 2021 World Test Championship final and the 2019 World Cup semi-final against the Kiwis. In order to put themselves in a relatively stronger position for a shot to win the 2021 T20 World Cup, Kohli and Co must win this contest.
