So, there are (and hopefully will always be) a few movies that make a special memorable place in our hearts. And no, we are not talking about Dharma Productions that have made a prototype out of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, but the ones that have managed to turn into iconic pieces of cinema and stayed relevant even years after release.

Like Sholay, Andaz Apna Apna, Harry Potter or our current favourite obsession - The Matrix series. Especially with Priyanka Chopra on board, we have yet another reason to hail this trilogy which is about to launch its fourth instalment - The Matrix Resurrections.

The trailer for the upcoming Matrix movie dropped a few days ago and Priyanka Chopra shared it on her Instagram page captioning it, “Remember what is real. Watch the new trailer for The Matrix Resurrections now – in theatres and on HBO Max 12.22.21.”

With her strong and stoic voiceover in the background as well as her new avatar in the glimpses we could get of her, the audience was thrilled to see an Indian be part of such a huge and popular franchise. 

However, there was still one question looming and it was - which part would Chopra be playing in it.

Seems like the question has been answered through the notes published by Warner Bros that confirm fans’ speculations of Priyanka Chopra essaying the role of 'adult Sati'. 

The role that was previously played by Tanveer K. Atwal in The Matrix Revolutions will now be seen played by none other than the global sensation Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Warner Bros. went ahead and described her role as, “a young woman with a wisdom that belies her years and an ability to see the truth, no matter how murky the waters." And honestly, we can’t think it could be cast better than that.

Fans are ecstatic at the revelation and awaiting more details with bated breaths, for good reason too. 

One user wrote, “Omg! Amazing! Such a befitting role for her," while another one commented saying, “Have always wanted her to get roles with powers.”

The film will also feature  Jada Pinkett Smith who will be reprising her role of Niobe. 

Apart from that, the movie will have actors like Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff (popular from Mindhunter) who will be a new face to the audience in the series.
