Amitabh Bachchan’s Abandoned Italian Supercar Is Making Petrolheads Tear Up In Pain

People who know and love cars will tell you just how special a Lamborghini is. For many petrolheads, it is just a little bit more special than your Ferraris or McLarens could ever be. So you can imagine just how painful it would be to see one of the greatest cars to have come from the Italian supercar makers, rusting away in a junkyard.

A white coloured Lamborghini Murcielago, which is believed to have once belonged to Amitabh Bachchan, was recently discovered at a junkyard in Gurugram, where it is rusting away. Now, let’s make one thing very clear - it wasn’t the veteran actor who abandoned it, but the seller who took it off his hands, once Amitabh Bachchan put it up for sale.

Although all Lamborghinis have had rockstar status with people who’re into cars, it’s popularity soared high with the release of Nolan’s Batman Trilogy. Christian Bale as Batman is seen driving around Gotham city in a greyish-black Murcielago, which is Italian for a bat. Batman, in particular, catapulted Murcielago to a whole new level of fame.

Coming to the unfortunate piece that is lying around in a junkyard in Delhi, the car was abandoned at a workshop by a builder who crashed the Murcielago, just weeks after buying it from Amitabh Bachchan.

Given that the repair would have cost the builder a fortune, he must have decided that it would be wise to just abandon it.

What’s sad about this is the fact that Amitabh Bachchan’s Murcielago was one of a kind, and one among the handful of Murcielago that came to India.

What’s even more aching, is the fact that the supercar is lying in a pitiful state, with its front bumpers, bonnet, and rear end in complete shambles and the suicide doors opened up fully, damaged as well.

Even the sporty-looking dual-tone black and red leather interiors are left to rot.

When bought brand new, the Murcielago would cost at least Rs 3.4 Crores, back in 2004, which was a ton of money for a car back then. Amitabh Bachchan had a particular soft spot for fast Lambos it seems. At some point or the other, he has owned the Gallardo, Diablo and even the iconic Countach, all outside India, in London.
