The case of the Rs 40 crore heist that took place in a residential society in Gurugram has been unravelling with different twists and turns like an episode of a suspense crime drama.
It was on the night of 3 August 2021 that robbersΒ barged into two apartments of different floors of a housing society in Sector 84, Gurugram and, according to reports, gold and cash worth Rs 40 crore was stolen.Β

The case was transferred to the Special Task Force (STF) to probe the heist, who have now made another revelation that sounds a lot like it is the desi edition of the Money Heist series.Β
The prime suspect in the robbery, gangster Vikas Lagarpuria, allegedly executed the heist with a well-thought-out plan.Β

It is reported that he hired 10 henchmen to do the job and involved around 20 people including cops, doctors and financiers to pull off the multi-crore robbery.Β
He even made his henchmen rent an apartment in the same society to keep a watch and avert any suspicion.Β

The money and gold belonged to a developer of the society who was using two apartments (on the fourth and eleventh floor) as his maintenance office.Β
The gangster was informed about the money he had kept in the two apartments by one of the doctors (now arrested) in July. Lagarpuria then planned and executed the heist with the help of the doctor.Β

Till now, 15 people have been arrested by the STF which includes six robbers, three doctors, two financers, two employees of the developer and an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Delhi Police. And, around Rs 5.80 crore has been recovered from the suspect.Β

We think it sounds more like an episode of Money Heist, probably a Gurugram edition where the mastermind plans and pulls off a multi-crore heist by hiring numerous people.Β
