<p>Monsoon is in full swing—especially in the western ghats of India. Which means that the streets are filled with all sorts of virus and bacteria that shouldn't touch your body. I mean the last thing you'd want is mud and contaminated water seeping into your freshly pedicured toes. YUCK! And while we understand and appreciate the idea of wearing naked footwear a.k.a. chappals. What we don't understand is wearing them in a filthy city like Bombay (sorry!). And if you are obsessed with the idea of wearing chappals, wear them to a beach. Or a vacation that requires little to no clothing.</p> <p class="articleimg"><img id="ed-img" class="art-lazy imwidth-full" title="akshay chappals" src="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-1-1501169110.jpg" alt="akshay chappals" data-original="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-1-1501169110.jpg" />Viral Bhayani</p> <p>Alternatively, if casual (and weightless) footwear is your go-to, then think boat shoes, canvas pairs or slip ons. Reason? 1) All of these options are light-AF and will prove ample coverage to your toes. 2) Because style matters. 3) And because, chappals are not the choicest footwear option for an A-list celebrity, especially promoting your next big blockbuster. And we refuse to let it pass, just ‘cause you are Akshay Kumar.</p> <p class="articleimg"><img id="ed-img" class="art-lazy imwidth-full" title="akshay chappals " src="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-2-1501169153.jpg" alt="akshay chappals " data-original="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-2-1501169153.jpg" />Viral Bhayani</p> <p>Here's what (allegedly) transpired. Akshay Kumar—one of the biggest superstars of our country, a true, blue man (in every sense of the word)—wore a very preppy, J Crew-ish look for a TV promotion. The outfit was a lesson in tone-on-tone perfection. A light blue shirt, paired with darker trousers and a green and blue tie made for a cool casual look. The only downer in the outfit is the yellow chappals Mr. Kumar decided to don, last minute before leaving his trailer.</p> <p class="articleimg"><img id="ed-img" class="art-lazy imwidth-full" title="akshay chappals" src="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-3-1501169203.jpg" alt="akshay chappals" data-original="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-3-1501169203.jpg" />Viral Bhayani</p> <p>He walked wet roads in them…</p> <p> </p> <p class="articleimg"><img id="ed-img" class="art-lazy imwidth-full" title="Akshay chappals" src="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-4-1501169319.jpg" alt="Akshay chappals" data-original="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-4-1501169319.jpg" />Viral Bhayani</p> <p> </p> <p>And walked straight onto the main set with it…</p> <p> </p> <p class="articleimg"><img id="ed-img" class="art-lazy imwidth-full" title="Akshay chappals" src="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-5-1501169387.jpg" alt="Akshay chappals" data-original="http://media.new.mensxp.com/media/content/2017/Jul/image-5-1501169387.jpg" />Viral Bhayani</p> <p> </p> <p>Where's the chappal police when you need them? This is a major crime and we are crowning it the top chappal moment of the week. UGH!</p>
