'Can't Complain To Your Boss' IND Selector Shares Helplessness Due To Ganguly's Intimidation

Sourav Ganguly has been receiving a lot of flak for the way he has been handling things as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of late.

As the BCCI president, Ganguly had no role to play in any of the selection meetings but yet he bulldozed his way to attend several selection meetings.

Fans and cricket experts have been questioning Ganguly’s misuse of power to undermine various roles in the Indian cricket board.

The former India skipper has been openly speaking about various decisions of the board on news channels even before the board announces it officially.

While some members of the board had denied the fact that there had been any violation of rule by Ganguly, a report has emerged where a member of the selection committee has come forward and admitted that Ganguly was part of various selection meetings.

The BCCI official also clarified that while Ganguly attended meetings, he did not interfere in the selection process. However, the mere presence of Ganguly in the meeting room was intimidating.

“It is what it is. You can’t complain to your boss, can you? But has he interfered in selection? No, he hasn’t. However, his mere presence is always intimidating as he is the president of the board. But can’t talk about it more,” a member of the selection committee was quoted as saying by InsideSport .

Another official from the Indian board came in defence of Ganguly and said that the whole episode has been handled poorly and if members of the selection committee had problems with the former skipper attending selection meetings, they should have spoken to board secretary Jay Shah rather than leaking the incident to the media.
