Amrita Rao, who is known for her performance in various hits like Main Hoon Na and Vivah, is currently away from films as she is busy nurturing her son Veer. However, she has also started a YouTube channel with her husband RJ Anmol named Couple of Things. In the Valentine's Day special video titled Can You Believe This? on their channel, Anmol has revealed that he had auditioned for Shahid Kapoor's role in Ishq Vishk which also starred his wife Amrita and Shenaz Treasurywala in the lead roles. Yes, you read that right!

In the video, Anmol has shared that both him and his sister went for the Ishq Vishk audition and were in an interesting dilemma and at last failed to bag the roles in the 2003 hit. 

Revealing the same, he stated MTV was looking for fresh faces for the film back then. "When I reached the venue for the audition, the casting person saw me and said ‘he’s for the lead' and sat with the dialogues. In fact, I went there with my sister. She went to audition for the role of Amrita. When the script was given to us, me and my sister had a fight over what would happen if both got selected. We had even decided who would give up the role if both got selected--she would have quit while I would've been the hero," Anmol said.

He added that the makers finally cast actors with some experience in the industry instead of finalising completely new faces. He added, "Inhone hume bewakoof banaya yaar (they made fools out of us). Amrita was in an ad, Shahid was in a music video, established chehre le liye. Humara sapna wahi tod diya (they went for established faces and our dreams were shattered)".

For the unversed, Ishq Vishk was directed by Ken Ghosh and turned out to be a sleeper hit at the box office. Fans loved Shahid-Amrita's onscreen chemistry and they were later cast together in films like Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, Shikhar, and Vivah. 

Coming back to Amrita and Anmol, they exchanged wedding vows in 2016 and welcomed their first child, son Veer, in November 2020.
