‘Beef Eater Lecturing On Animal Rights?’ Rohit Sharma Gets Buried For ‘Special Holi Message’

On the occasion of Holi, India skipper Rohit Sharma sent out social media greetings to his fans and followers. The Hitman could be seen doing many takes to film a video message for his supporters in a humorous video released on Instagram by the cricketer.

The India skipper was unable to perfect his message despite numerous retakes. After seeing their captain having fun in the video, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal burst out laughing.

In the post, Rohit encouraged his friends and followers to observe the festival of colours responsibly by not painting animals and not wasting water.

“All I want to say is “Happy Holi”. While you all have fun, please keep our furry friends in mind and be sure not to put any rang on them,” he said in the video before uploading it.

Let the colour of Holi spread the message of peace and happiness.Be safe & remember of not wasting water & being careful of our #HappyHoli

Meanwhile, Sharma has been widely mocked on social media for offering Holi gyaan, especially after the Mumbai Indians captain was chastised for his 'hypocrisy,' when it was found that Sharma, an animal rights enthusiast, was caught consuming beef during an alleged bio-bubble breach in Australia last year.

No disrespect to Rohit Sharma but if Virat Kohli had said something on animal abuse on Holi then, it would have be the breaking news and people would have dragged Anushka Sharma for no reason. SHAME !!! pic.twitter.com/HGNVl2b36P#RitikaApnaKuttaSambhal

Rohit Sharma is worried for dogs on Holi.
I would have understood the concern but Rohit Sharma is a beef eater.
I just don't understand how these people have soft corner for dogs & cats but they will eat any other animal without thinking twice.#RitikaApnaKuttaSambhal pic.twitter.com/rm8wzLXPqI

Back in January 2021, when the Indian cricket team were touring Australia and had recently come out of their testing quarantining in their hotel rooms when five Indian cricketers had been involved in a controversy.

Not only were Rohit Sharma, Rishab Pant, Shubhman Gill, Navdeep Saini, and Prithvi Shah been placed in isolation for breaking the bio-bubble restrictions, but they have also been mocked by netizens for ordering and eating beef.

The cricketers enjoyed a lavish dinner at a Melbourne restaurant, and a cricket fan who happened to see them there volunteered to pay their bill. Rishab Pant was apparently ecstatic over the fan's admiration and hugged the fan, Navaldeep Singh, in violation of biosecurity protocols.

Fan Navaldeep Singh created a problem for the cricketers when he shared a video on social media of the players sitting at a table behind him at the restaurant, claiming that he had paid their $118.69 bill.

Despite the bill suggesting that Sharma had ordered beef in Australia, over the last couple of years, it has been reported by multiple media outlets that the Indian skipper is in fact a vegetarian who takes his diet very seriously and is an animal rights activist.

Sharma is also a key part of the “Save The Rhino” initiative.
