Bhogle’s Fake Acting In ‘Promo’ Caused Panic Among Fans, People Call It ‘Outright Pathetic’

There is a famous saying, ‘no publicity is bad publicity' but it made us wonder if people really mean it. If they did, where do they draw the line? What’s the limit?

Guess what, the recent incident involving famous cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has proven that there is no such thing as bad publicity. There’s no limit to how far people can go to promote themselves.

Harsha Bhogle is one of the most respected commentators in the world but what he did during a live Instagram session has left a bad taste in his fans’ mouths.

For the unversed, the renowned commentator mysteriously disappeared during a live interaction which sent his millions of admirers into a state of panic. All this for cheap publicity.

What just happened? Is @bhogleharsha okay???

The renowned broadcaster was in the middle of a conversation when he made brilliant use of his acting skills and gave the impression as if he had been attacked by some people.

“Kya hua? Kaun hai? Kaha se aa gaye? (What happened? Who are you? Where did you come from?” he was heard saying, before disappearing behind the blurred screen.

Taking the video on the face value, people thought Bhogle was in some sort of trouble and soon the social media was flooded with posts inquiring about his well-being.

People calmed down a bit only after Bhogle himself revealed the truth behind this whole charade on the micro-blogging site and tendered an apology. He said that it was a light-hearted video and he didn’t anticipate this video would go so viral.

You learn something new everyday. It seemed a lighthearted thing to do but in its execution, it became something that I didn't think it would. I am actually a bit embarrassed now. https://t.co/OwFrwb6vm9

“I am fine. Sorry to have got a lot of you worried. Thank you for the love and concern. It became more viral than I anticipated. That too is a learning. It was meant to lead to something else. Sorry. And cheers,” Bhogle tweeted.

“You learn something new every day. It seemed a lighthearted thing to do but in its execution, it became something that I didn't think it would. I am actually a bit embarrassed now,” he added.

Folks, just clarifying that all is well with @bhogleharsha. It was a promo that went viral and unfortunately got everyone worried. Thanks for the love and concern.

Bhogle’s wife Anita also issued a clarification on Twitter and revealed that her husband was well and sound, and clarified that the video that got everyone worried was a promo.

“Folks, just clarifying that all is well with @bhogleharsha. It was a promo that went viral and unfortunately got everyone worried. Thanks for the love and concern,” she tweeted.

Outright pathetic.

After auctioneer incident, everyone was in panic. This won’t go down well.

Sorry to say that, but we didn't expect that from bhogle sir

— Mallika Nath (@MallikaNath12) March 24, 2022

Maybe the producers expected poor acting performance.

But our Harsha plays everything to perfection.

Simply not cool when one saw auctioneer collapse live on stage a month back!

— Gagan Chawla (@toecrushrzzz) March 24, 2022

This is not correct. I was at a dinner and in panic. Just not right. Don't know what promo it was, but whatever it is, it is just not correct

— Rahul Bhat (@rahulbhat2000) March 24, 2022

This is insane ma'am....releasing such a disturbing video live(whatever crap it was) & taking ages to bother clarifying

— Kaur rmn (@theHeartyouOwn7) March 24, 2022

A promo that has unfortunately left most of us worried. Reading some of the comments and some were in panic. Shows the care and love people have for Harsha and to be testing their emotions wasn't great. Happy all is well but could've been avoided. I'm surprised at the choice.

The fans, however, didn’t like this cheap publicity and they bashed the commentator for getting involved in something like this. People were pleased to know he was okay but were also mad at him at the same time.

Not many had expected the 60-year-old to agree to something like this. An angry fan described his action as “outright pathetic” and several others had similar reactions to it.

The only reason we can make out why Bhogle said yes to doing a promo like this was that he perhaps undermined his own popularity a bit too much. Had he known that it would escalate into this and create so much panic, we are sure he wouldn’t have done this.
