It looks like Will Smith's iconic slap at the 2022 Oscars may have intergalactic repercussions. According to a leading UFO expert, the incident of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars may have convinced Aliens of not visiting Earth.

The Bad Boys actor had been sitting in the audience alongside his wife Jada Pinkett Smith at the Oscars when a joke by Chris Rock didn't settle well with him.

Rock had joked about Jada's hair and compared it with Demi Moore's tightly cropped look from the GI Jane movie. Smith went on to storm on the stage before whacking him in the face, minutes before accepting the Oscar win for best actor.

The whole incident has been the most talked-about thing since then and looks like that's not changing anytime soon.

Now, according to The Mirror, Nick Pope, a former official with Britain’s Ministry of Defense, has revealed how Aliens may not visit Earth after the incident.

“If extraterrestrials are watching Earth – either monitoring us as part of a scientific study of emerging civilizations or maybe as reconnaissance, ahead of an alien invasion – they’ll get a lot of their information about us from our TV broadcasts,” he said.

He spoke about how they would know Will from the sci-fi alien movies Independence Day and Men In Black and would be wary of him.

“What will they make of the fiasco at this year’s Oscars ceremony? Aliens will already know Will Smith from Independence Day, where he punched out an alien and uttered the immortal line ‘welcome to Earth,'”

“They’ll also know him from the Men in Black movies, so if aliens are planning an invasion, they’ll think Will Smith is often the person we put up to defend ourselves,” said Pope.

Well, looks like you can rest easy if you'd been fearing an alien invasion.
