Did You Know Stranger Things & Westworld Have Already Won 5 Emmy's Even Before The Awards Show?

The first round of the 2017 Emmy awards have been handed out and not many people woke up to see the results. While we completely understand it's criminal to wake at ungodly hours to catch a glimpse of some of your favourite TV show actors receiving awards, we also understand the cringe you feel having missed their speech and the initial ceremony. So here we are, bringing you the best of goss from the primetime award section and you can definitely thank us later!

The Creative Arts Emmy were held on the 9th and 10th of September, prepping us for the big daddy of TV show awards, The Primetime Emmy Awards next week (Sunday, the 17th , to be precise). The minute difference between the two differently held award ceremonies is simple. The Creative Arts Emmy's focus more on technical achievements for the year and the best in lighting, cinematography, editing etc. receive recognition at these awards. The main Emmy's focus on every other achievement and both the award functions qualify the recipients as bonafide Emmy award winners.

Usually the Creative Arts Emmy is a precursor for the bigger awards held a week later. So if a show bags a good amount of awards at the first function for their technical achievements, they have a good chance of bagging more awards at the main Emmys event. This year, 'Stranger Things' and 'Westworld' each won five Creative Arts Emmys, which due to the sheer fondness for the show by the voters may put them a notch above other nominees and they might bag more victories! They have already been nominated for the best drama category at the Primetime Emmy Awards.

Other victories at the Creative Award Emmys include 'The Crown', which bagged two technical awards and also might make a big win at the main award function. Other small writing/acting categories were also awarded at the Creative Arts function. Dave Chappelle and Melissa McCarthy bagged the best guest actor/actress in a comedy respectively, for Saturday Night Live. Dave Chappelle is a first time Emmy Award winner. Alexis Bledel ('Gilmore Girls') won the guest actress award for her role as Ofglen in Hulu's Drama series The Handmaid's Tale.

So we reckon you gear up this Sunday, to witness some love and adoration for your favourite prime time TV stars. Who're you rooting for?
