It's hard to fathom why people always choose to hate. In the age of keyboard commandos, cussing people in the spotlight is easy and comfortable. By now, the whole world knows that Dan Bilzerian was caught up in the Las Vegas mass shooting that took place on the 1st of October. The world would also “see” that Bilzerian didn't help the people around him and ran away from the shooting. Which, to be honest, is perfectly normal, considering the situation. Instead, he was actually taking cover and looking for a way to fight back.

A veteran even called out Bilzerian as well.

Just because Bilzerian put up an Instagram story, people thought that he was running away. The truth though is far from what's being reported and circulated by the general media.
Bilzerian posted this video a few hours ago on his social media accounts. The video, as he mentions in the description, was being recorded by his friend who was with him during the shooting.
You can clearly see Bilzerian doing his best to help the wounded and even though he had a chance to run away, he stayed back and asked the officers on the scene to hand him a gun to help them out. He showed the police his license of being a ‘sworn commissioned reserve police officer'. If this video doesn't make sense, it's hard to say what does. Now that this video is on public watch, the same websites that called Bilzerian a coward will call him a hero. Such is 2017. Such is the internet.
Given the fact that the media jumped on him, Bilzerian is angry at them for all the right reasons and wrote this in the description box.
“This video is from my friend's iPhone, I found out later he was recording during the Vegas shooting. I'm a sworn commissioned reserve police officer, I wouldn't normally tell you that, but I think it's important you know that for the context of this video. I am not a medic or a hero in any way, my instinct when someone is shooting at me is to get a gun and shoot back. There's a lot of media and keyboard commandos saying people who ran were cowards, this is probably the dumbest thing I've ever read, and the next time there is a mass shooting, everyone who doesn't have a gun should absolutely run, it is so sad and pathetic that I even have to clarify that in any way. I really can't believe the kinda bullshit the media is feeding people these days.”
Beware of what you read and what you believe!
