ISLAMABAD: In an apparent reference to the Supreme Court's decision on the review petitions filed by the Sharif family over the Panama Papers verdict, State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Wednesday that Pakistan's caravan was looted when the judicial system became hand watch and a stick of dictatorship.
Speaking at the federal judicial complex, the minister said: "in the decision, there is a mention of a looted caravan, history is the witness that Pakistan's caravan was looted when the judicial system became the hand watch and stick of dictators."
Aurangzeb said that people who violated the Constitution of Pakistan, attacked judiciary and parliament, and abused state institutions are living with freedom but the Pakistan Muslim League- N leader who upheld judiciary is facing trial.
She said people of Pakistan supported Nawaz Sharif by making him prime minister three times through their votes.
She said that the Sharif family and government was called 'Sicilian mafia' and 'Godfather', adding that, it would have been better if the review petition had been heard by another bench.
Quoting an Urdu couplet expressing a follower?s feelings about his leader, in its detailed judgment on the review petition filed by Sharif family, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan stated: ?Don?t talk about this and that thing, just tell us why the caravan was looted ? We have no complaint with the passersby, it is a question of your leadership?.
