Facebook Is Going To Make Watching Videos Even More Annoying As They Introduce Mid-Roll Ads

Get ready as Facebook is all ready to make your experience on the platform even more annoying than ever before. If you like to spend your time watching videos on Facebook, well you’re shit out of luck. The social media giant is amidst launching a plague of ‘mid-roll’ video adverts that will start playing 20 seconds into each video.

Imagine if you are in the middle of watching a hilarious video and all of a sudden you’re interrupted by a Salman Khan Chaddi-Banyan advert. Now that would be a painful sight for all of us, wouldn’t it?

These ‘mid-roll’ adverts are now being tested and will only run after viewers have seen a video for 20 seconds. There is no word as to this applicable to Live videos as well but it seems very likely that this will be implemented.

Facebook will also be introducing adverts to Instagram stories where content creators and businesses can sponsor adverts and post a series of photos/videos that will disappear after 24 hours.

The adverts that will appear in Instagram ‘Stories’ will be shown as a full-screen ad and sporadically which will make our experience super annoying. Facebook is currently testing this feature with advertisers like Nike, Airbnb, General Motors and a few others.
