Judiciary, institutions hold different criteria for Sindh and Punjab, says Khursheed Shah

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Shah said on Wednesday that judiciary and institutions hold different criteria and principles of justice for Sindh and Punjab.
Shah said that there have been no arrests of Sharif family, neither their names have been put in the Exit Control List despite serious graft cases against them, adding that former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon voluntarily presented himself before the court but he is not getting justice.
Referring to the National Accountability Court cases against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and his family, the leader of the opposition said that the cases are a test for the judiciary.
"This is a test for the Supreme Court, from now on dual standards of justice won?t continue," he said.
Memon was arrested by NAB on October 23, after hours of being holed up in court premises. He was taken into custody as he left the court.
Memon was shifted to NAB headquarters Sindh after being escorted from the court.
"The accused persons are charged for embezzlement of Rs. 5,766,479,766 purportedly paid to seven advertising agencies for awareness campaigns between 2013 and 2015," said a press release by NAB.
"The accused persons jointly and severally in connivance with each other have been alleged for awarding the contracts to favor certain advertising agencies and to their own favor, in violation of relevant laws and rules and against exorbitant rates," added the release.
