Event-appropriate dressing can be stressful sometimes. You have to foresee the vibe, the kind of people invited (with respect to social standing) and most importantly, how formal or informal the setting would be like. It's a real task, you see. And it only gets worse if you're a celebrity, who'd be clicked by the bugs with your every possible move and blasted on news portals. John Abraham in this respect, lives quite the hard life.

But considering he's John Abraham, he gives no effs about how the planet rotates. He does what he wants to, dresses according to his gut (or personal style?) and sometimes, ends up going against the tide. At Akash Ambani's recent engagement party, the ex-actor chose to do exactly that:

If the rule of life is any legit reason, engagement parties call for formal wear or at least, Indian formal wear. And not just for the groom, the male invitees too must dress in formal attires. It's a written rule that must be adhered to. But understandably — rules are meant to be broken. Enter, the only menswear rebel at India's most expensive engagement party that happened on Monday.

We're not saying that a suit alone, should tickle your bones at an event such as this. Neither are we asking you to slip into a sherwani, hop onto a ghodi and make an entry. For the latter, however, you'd have a play a rental too, so just avoid it. 

Coming to the point, 'formal wear for formal settings' was the vibe that existed here. However, on the contrary, John completely turned a deaf ear and transformed this stuation into a sneaker-outing. Dressed in a white T-shirt topped with a checked shirt, classic jeans and crisp white sneakers — there's a lot to discuss about this outfit being worn to an engagement party. But we think, John was playing himself; the flip-flops wearing dude that take rounds of airport terminals. Going by this theory, he's only fulfilled his style-aim with this outfit here.

While on any other day, we would have let this pass as another example of a white sneaker-win, but today we're questioning the guy's style leanings. Next time, dress appropriately, homeboy.
