  1. Our teachers and parents often told us that one shouldn't be afraid of making mistakes. After all that's how we learn in life, right? But, what if that mistake is an expensive one...Rs. 4 lakh (approx) to be precise? In a bizarre turn of events, Hawksmoor Manchester, a restaurant in UK served a group of three businessmen their most expensive bottle. And the best part is, they didn't even ask for it. They had called for a bottle worth £260 (Rs. 23,200 approx), but instead were 'accidentally' served wine that costs £4,500 (Rs. 4 lakh approx). © Pexels Seriously, who would order such an expensive bottle of wine? Well, in this case, literally no one. Honestly, if I was served wine that expensive, I would either pour it in a bottle and sell it to a museum or savour every drop so carefully, as if my life depends on it. According to reports, the blokes who drank that expensive wine didn't even notice and are probably still unaware about the goof-up. Or maybe they know now. It was the trainee manager's mistake, who got confused between the two bottles as they "looked pretty similar". The staff realised the mistake when the customers called for a second bottle, but didn't publicly admit the mistake. © Twitter For all the wine connoisseurs out there, what the diners called for was a 2001 bottle of Chateau Pichon Longueville Contesse de Lalande - price £260. What they got was a 2001 bottle of Château Le Pin, Pomerol, - price £4,500. Next time, you go to UK be sure about your drink. Here are the two bottles. THEY LOOK PRETTY SIMILAR OK?! ð pic.twitter.com/JWFW81cbe8 — Hawksmoor Manchester (@HawksmoorMCR) May 16, 2019 The restaurant, however, accepted their mistake in the best way possible and are now being praised on social media for their stand. They wrote, "To the customer who accidentally got given a bottle of Chateau le Pin Pomerol 2001, which is £4500 on our menu, last night - hope you enjoyed your evening! To the member of staff who accidentally gave it away, chin up! One-off mistakes happen and we love you anyway." To the customer who accidentally got given a bottle of Chateau le Pin Pomerol 2001, which is £4500 on our menu, last night - hope you enjoyed your evening! To the member of staff who accidentally gave it away, chin up! One-off mistakes happen and we love you anyway ð — Hawksmoor Manchester (@HawksmoorMCR) May 16, 2019 Reportedly, Will Beckett, co-founder of Hawksmoor said "Another manager picked up on it when they asked for a second bottle." In order to avoid an awkward situation, the staff member "gently steered the customers toward another bottle of wine and kept quiet." The restaurant staff was really sweet and charged the men a bill of over £400 (Rs. 35,700 approx). It was only after the shift was over that the trainee manager was told that she had served the restaurant's most expensive wine. But, the way the restaurant reacted to the entire incident is commendable. We hope we had such great bosses at work. And for the chaps who drank that wine, you guys are the luckiest diners ever. 2. If there exists one fetish that is common to every celebrity all around the world, it is the one to do with owning swanky, top-of-the-line rides. Most celebrities in India and abroad love to flash their fanciest cars every now and then, and there is no guessing why that might be. Last night, Bollywood rapper-singer Badshah, aka Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, took to his Instagram account and shared that after a long journey, he has been able to bring his dream car, a Rolls Royce Wraith, home. Welcoming the car to the family, quite literally, the picture showed his parents and sister beaming at the camera, standing beside (and err..sitting on top of) the car. View this post on Instagram Its been a long journey. Welcome to the family :) @rollsroycecars @rollsroyceindia @rollsroycewraith A post shared by BADSHAH (@badboyshah) on Apr 30, 2019 at 2:43am PDT Various Bollywood celebrities congratulated Badshah on the new addition to his family which is reportedly priced at Rs. 6.4 crores in India. Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Neha Kakkar, Ronit Roy, rapper Naezy, Raftaar, Sophie Chowdhary and many others sent their best wishes to the rapper. However, Badshah isn't the only one with one of the swankiest cars in B-town, here are 5 other Bollywood celebrities and their most expensive joy-rides. 1. Shah Rukh Khan © BCCL Shah Rukh Khan owns one of the world's fastest cars, a Bugatti Veyron which is worth a whopping Rs 12 crore! SRK is known in the industry for owning an array of luxurious cars. 2. Aamir Khan © Twitter Aamir Khan owns a sleek Mercedes Benz S600 worth Rs 10 crore. Reportedly, he is amongst the only three people in the country to own this car, the other two being Mukesh Ambani and Manmohan Singh. 3. Hrithik Roshan © Twitter Back in 2016, Hrithik Roshan bought a customised Rolls Royce Ghost for himself on his birthday which is priced at a mammoth Rs 7 crore. 4. Sanjay Dutt © Cartoq Sanjay Dutt owns a Ferrari 599 GTB which is priced at Rs 5.5 crores. A self-confessed car lover, Dutt owns a Lexus SUV, Mercedes-Benz M-class, a Porsche SUV and a Toyota Land Cruiser besides the Ferrari. 5. Amitabh Bachchan © Twitter Superstar Amitabh Bachchan owns a Rolls Royce Phantom which is priced at Rs 4.5 crores. 3. With the Indian Premier League in its second half, fans have seen quite a stir with the points table with respect to the position of the eight franchises of the league. While Virat Kohli's Royal Challenger Bangalore has shown signs of revival in the later days, other teams like the Kolkata Knight Riders who were considered to be above average, have slumped down the order. But that does not mean that a T20 match between the below-par teams like KKR and Rajasthan Royals cannot fill the stadium with a jolt of excitement and loud cheers. After losing the toss against Steve Smith at the Eden Gardens arena, Dinesh Karthik and team were asked to bat first. The Knight Riders openers, Chris Lynn (0 runs) and Shubhman Gill (13 runs) played small, underwhelming innings before getting dismissed at the hands of Royals' Varun Aaron. In came the KKR skipper, who had been under the microscope ever since India's 15-man squad for ICC World Cup 2019 was announced a couple of weeks ago and Karthik was chosen to represent the nation over a younger Rishabh Pant and people were sceptical about the Tamil Nadu-born cricketer and his ability as a batsman. But DK showed to the world that he is more than capable as a finisher and has the potential of becoming the backbone of the team that could support the entire batting innings of a team. And yes, this was an Indian Premier League match and sure there is a huge difference between a national-level T20 league match and an ODI match at the stature that of the World Cup, but this is about Karthik's characteristics as a fine cricketer. Scoring just three runs in the first 10 deliveries, Karthik realised that it was time for him to take hold of the steering wheel and become the leader in terms of building a respectable total for their opponents when other batsmen around him failed to stick to the crease. Did @DineshKarthik just prove his place in the World Cup squad with his performance for @KKRiders? Fans think so. #KKRvRR ðhttps://t.co/ZaThRNNBLx — Twitter Moments India (@MomentsIndia) April 25, 2019 Even though Riyan Parag and the rest of the Rajasthan batting order were too good to handle for the KKR bowlers, Karthik's performance was recognised by the Indian fans: Dinesh Karthik 97* from 50 balls 9 sixes Thats fantastic Captain innings !! Debate ends..Pant or Karthik !! Well done DK !! U proved enough — Rajkumar Sekar (@I_Raj13) April 25, 2019 97* off 50 balls by Dinesh Karthik. What an inning. 4. Mark Zuckerberg entered 2018 by making a promise of fixing Facebook. Well, we all can agree that it didn't go as planned. In fact, 2018 was the year in which Facebook was embroiled in controversies like the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Amidst all that, the company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg saw his wealth fall down by a huge margin. © Reuters Mark's net worth fell by $9 billion in 2018 and he slipped three places on the Forbes 2018 global billionaires list. (https://www.forbes.com/billionaires/#490e7b9b251c) According to Forbes, Mark's estimated net worth is $62.3 billion, down from $71 billion last year. Facebook itself lost more than a fifth of its value, as it endured data breaches and government investigations. As the CEO of Facebook, who owns nearly 17-per cent of the stock, it's not really all that surprising to see his net worth taking a dip. Mark Zuckerberg is now the eighth richest person in the world, compared to his fifth position last year. The top three spots in the list, however, remained unchanged. © Reuters Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is in the first place with an estimated net worth of $131 billion. He is followed by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffet with an estimated net worth of $95.6 billion and $82.5 billion respectively. Other noteworthy names in the list include India's Mukesh Ambani and Kylie Jenner, who's now dubbed the youngest self-made billionaire.
  5. The fitness industry is booming and along with it, there are a number of fitness expos held across the country. With these tens of expos, there are at least twenty different bodybuilding shows that happen every year. Every passing year, the number of federations or competitions is increasing as a lot of youngsters want to become bodybuilders. Competing in a bodybuilding show is not wrong, but it is important for you to know a few things before you consider stepping on that stage: 1. It Will Take A Lot More Than Just Having Abs These days, anyone who has abs thinks they are meant for the bodybuilding stage. The fact is, 90 per cent of them are not. Having abs or being lean vs. being shredded are two different things. Bodybuilding means having great overall muscularity, having a balanced physique, being presentable, and being shredded. Just because you have abs does not mean you have to be on stage. If you want to compete, ensure that you have all of the above things to stand a chance. 2. The Prep Sucks Bodybuilding prep is not easy. There will be times you are angry, frustrated, hungry, and exhausted. There will be days where you will not even feel like moving from your bed too. There will be cravings. But these are the times you will have to suck it up and do what needs to be done. It is mentally stressful and can even affect your relationships. So, if you are not in a place to handle all these other pressures, doing a show may end up being one of the worst decisions of your life. © Unsplash 3. There Will Be A Lot Of Fake Natties 'Natural bodybuilding' has either become an elite thing or a joke. I honestly cannot decide. I leave it up to you. The reason I say this is because there are shows that claim to be 'natural' for aspiring natural bodybuilders, however, they are anything but natural. Just having the tag 'natural' after the show's name does not mean jack! Natural federations check their athletes thoroughly and randomly throughout the year. The shows held here in India do not do anything of the sort and are often seen firing the promoters the next year as the 'promoter' tested positive for drugs. 4. You Will Be Forgotten Most of the bodybuilding shows in India are just businesses. Every year, three to five new bodybuilding shows are introduced. They make new promises and take higher entry fees every passing year. You pay it, you get done, and that is that. Hardly are there good prizes in most shows and competitors are rising by the 100s every year. Even if you win a show, there is a great chance that nobody will remember you the next year, unless you are competing at a very high level. The entry level or novice shows are hardly remembered or even cared about. © Pixabay 5. Politics Exists In bodybuilding shows, you will fight politics at every level between federations, between promoters, between judges! I have personally seen competitors winning shows where they outright ignored judging calls and should have been disqualified within a minute of stepping on stage. I have seen the best guy not placing even in the top 5. Now, this would be a personal bias but you could check it out when you go and watch a show. The politics is real and even if you end up being the best athlete, there is a good chance you are going home empty handed. So ask yourself the question, is all of this worth competing in a show? If your answer is still yes, you should totally do a show. 6. For every man there comes a time in his life when he makes lifestyle choices based on the quality of the products. Be it gadgets, footwear or clothing, choosing quality over quantity is their mantra for life. Now that labels and brands matter while every man buys clothing, it also matters what the brands actually make your clothing out of. © Getty Images Wouldn't you be disappointed if a sweater that promises it's cashmere is actually 90% polyester and 10% cashmere wool? And you're kidding if you say you wouldn't genuinely appreciate a piece of clothing more if you spot 'made in Italy' text on the tag and look down upon something that says 'made in China'. The question remains, how would you tell if the quality of your clothes is genuinely investment worthy? Well, all you need to do is follow these guidelines and you would be able to assess the quality of your garments properly: 1. Where Is It Made? © Getty Images Some countries have the advantage of being known to produce good quality garments. You'd rejoice if you spot a garment that says 'made in Italy' or 'made in France'. These countries act as brands on their own. But, does it matter? The answer is no. Most countries like China, India and Turkey have the technology to create quality garments as any other would. The only difference would be that the work-force in these countries comes much cheaper, resulting in heavier quantities of garments made at cheaper rates. Which is why only fast fashion brands like Zara and H&M consider them and the 'designer' labels stick to others. 2. Quality Lies In The Details © Getty Images Now that shopping for quality seems to be a policy that everyone adapts, the only difference is the details. An average user would opt for neat stitch, properly finished hem and quality that doesn't shrink or fade. We suggest you pay attention to details and finish of the overall garment and make your choice accordingly. 3. 'Branded' Doesn't Always Mean Quality © Getty Images If certain brands have allured you into the vortex of their shiny advertising but the product doesn't live up to it, it's time you learnt a lesson from it. While some brands have a reputation to make genuinely good quality garments, others are just famous for their advertising. Learning the difference between actual quality and endorsed quality is the key to getting a good product. Just because a certain brand is 'trending' and makes you feel updated with the upcoming fashion pieces, it doesn't promise quality. Only commit to brands after testing their product out. 4. Fabric Matters The Most © Getty Images Natural fabrics like cotton and wool tend to be more investment-worthy especially because of their qualities. Being superior to synthetics, these fabrics tend to be associated with being quality driven. The reasons why affordable brands have cheaper rates is because they compromise on fabric quality and use cotton blends that consist part rayon or polyester. Also, man-made fibres are harder to recycle. A quality cloth should ideally feel good, wash and wear well. But also, certain clothing like hoodies or sweatshirts are made from fabrics that remain of the same quality whether you spend Rs. 1500 at a reasonable brand or Rs. 30,000 at a high-end brand. Now that you've been educated well on how to figure out the quality of the clothes you invest in, make correct choices.
  7. In 2017, a Porsche sold for, hang on to your hats, $2.08 million. Eye-watering by even today's stratospheric supercar prices. But you know why this was such a big deal? The car in question, a Porsche 959 Sport, was 30 years old, and when new, cost in the region of $200,000! © Porsche Probably The First Supercar There's a thin line between supercars and sports cars, but the Porsche 959 stepped over that rather firmly. Production started in 1987, ending a year later, and just 292 of these were built (including just 29 Sport versions). 450hp, a top speed of 200mph, a 0-60mph time of under 4 seconds (3.6s for the Sport), the 959 was perhaps the first real supercar (as opposed to 'sports cars' and 'GT cars'). Consider this: One of today's most desirable cars - the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 - does the 0-60mph sprint in 3.5 seconds, which doesn't seem like a vast improvement over a car built when computers had less power than the smartwatch you got on your birthday. In fact, the two other legendary cars from the 1980s - the Ferrari Testarossa and the Lamborghini Countach, were nowhere near the 959 (both doing 0-60 in around 5 seconds). The 959 was in a league of its own - and it was gorgeous, the wide fenders, the racing-inspired bodywork, the rear wing, everything about it screamed 'speed'. Porsche Might Have Lost Money On It Porsche never intended the 959 to be a mainstream car - not like the legendary 911. In fact, some people say Porsche might have made a loss on every single 959 sold - one estimate says Porsche was selling it for less than half of what it cost to make! What Porsche was going for, then, was to show the very bleeding edge of tech - just what was possible if you threw out all the stops and said 'to hell with the costs'. © Zoom So the 959 came with four-wheel-drive, an adjustable suspension. Speed was so important that Porsche fitted its diva with hollow-spoke alloy wheels (to keep the weight down). Attention to detail like only the Germans can! Even Crashed 959s Sell For Half A Million Dollars “Okay”, you'd think, “if I had a few million lying around, I'd pay $2 million for a legendary Porsche supercar” - one that changed the car industry forever with its tech-heavy nature. But what about the chap who paid $467,500 for a 959 that had been in an accident? Yup, the car still ran, and we assume he got it repaired, but that's still a lot for a car that's been smashed up! The Dakar Edition Is Worth Even More The 959 Sport might be rare, but there's another 959 that's as rare as rain in the Sahara Desert - that would be the racing 959 that was built in 1985 - even before full-time production started - for the Paris-Dakar Rally. It didn't manage to complete the rally, but it had loads more going for it - this 959 was driven by three-time Dakar rally winner Rene Metge, and one of its later owners included Belgian racing legend Jacky Ickx © Zoom But It's Still Nowhere Near The World Record Price For A Car Sorry, Porsche, your 959 might be desirable but your arch-rivals have gone one better - In 2018, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO sold for $48.4 million. The same weekend, another car, 1935 Duesenberg set the record for the most expensive American car sold at an auction - $22 million. But there's a difference - the 959 is remarkably modern (It even came with a tyre pressure monitoring system) and can still be driven around every day. So does that mean your rickety hatchback will be worth that much someday? Well, we'd doubt it but you can always dream!

Last year, around the same time, Reueben Singh, the Sikh billionaire from UK who is also known as the British Bill Gates, was making headlines across the globe when his pictures went viral on the internet. 9. Resident Evil, the long-standing horror franchise that has captured every fan's imagination recently came out with a remaster of one of its classic games. We played a demo of the game at Gamescom and it already looked fascinating back then. Resident Evil 2 was originally released in 1998 and was about the fall of Raccoon City. It had iconic villains and characters that made it one of the most renowned Horror games in history. © Capcom Now exactly 20 years later, the game has been remastered by Capcom with updated graphics, an updated story and better gameplay mechanics. In essence, the game was coded from the ground up and is probably the best-remastered games we've ever played. In fact, the game follows the same formulas as the 1998 classic game and is unapologetic about it. In the game, you will either be playing as Leon Kennedy (cop) or Claire Redfield (college student in search of his brother) and follow different story arcs in the zombie-infested Raccoon City. © Capcom Resident Evil 2 is a third person, an over-the-shoulder shooter that still has the same claustrophobic feeling you would get from the original game. This oppressive feeling would add to the anxiety when you are trying to fight off zombies in tricky areas and even in open hallways. The over-the-shoulder play is tweaked to perfection here, as it instils gut-wrenching horror in every step you take. The environment itself its filled with tension that adds to the visceral and morbid world of Resident Evil. There's darkness in every corner and your flashlight is the only thing keeping you safe until you get jumped on by a zombie. The scare is real where you have to tackle jump scares while traversing different areas in the game. The audio design is also top notch as moans and shrieks added extra tension in moments of silence. Tackling zombies also need to strategic in certain scenarios as you can either blow their face off or blow up a limb to slow them down. This is by the scariest Resident Evil game we've played yet and it's great that the franchise embraces everything that made it successful in the first place. The story in Resident Evil 2 is identical to what the original game with a few more cutscenes and new locations that add to the narrative. You won't see any cringe-worthy lines or dumb quotes that took away the seriousness in older Resident Evil games. A lot of the game takes place in the massive police station where you will have to unlock new areas by hunting objects and combining them to open areas. Just like the original, this game does not have an autosave feature which means you still need to find a typewriter in order to save progress. The voice acting also adds to key character moments as it accentuates the modern cinematic style. Performances by voice actors were up to the mark that added some weight to scary or emotional moments. © Capcom For the first time in a game, I was genuinely scared because of an NPC that would show up or stalk you at any given time in the game. The enemy is called “Tyrant” and it will show up every few hours that would eventually skyrocket the intensity and stroll levels of the game. Once you encounter the enemy, you will be more careful where you go and have to be attentive of every door you open. You can't even kill the damn thing so shooting at it is pointless. © Capcom Sound design also plays a crucial role when it comes to horror games and Resident Evil 2 delivers the perfect experience in that department. It's probably one of the reasons why Tyrant sounds scarier than anything else in the game. You will hear its footsteps echo in your environment even though it's not on the same floor as you. The incredible sound design basically got me anxious each time I opened a door. You will be travelling with genuine fear simply because of these mysterious sounds. When it comes to gameplay, the new over-the-shoulder perspective works extremely smooth and you can control both Leon and Claire without any issues. Both characters have unique weapons and gadgets that you will use whole tackling enemies. There are also puzzles like the original game that you will need to solve and they aren't overly difficult or simple either. Resident Evil 2 is all about survival and where staying alive is as important as having the ability to shoot zombies, It isn't fast paced like modern zombie games where you will shoot everything in sight. Each move, path and shot has to be calculated otherwise you will end up dead. © Capcom In fact, when you are done with your first play-through, we encourage you to play the game again with a different character (either Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield) as the campaign offers different scenarios for each character. You will have similar objectives, visit the same locations but a lot of the campaign is different. You'll even unlock The 4th Survivor where you will play a small side story with its own story and rewards. Overall, the game has more replay value than any other horror game we've ever come across. Verdict Resident Evil 2 gives you the extra replay value you expect from a game as you would expect it from games from the 90s. It's got an exceptional sound design, great environments and overall a very scary experience. Even if you have played the original Resident Evil 2, you really don't want to miss out on the remastered version. It's a whole new game that hasn't forgotten its roots and is arguably the greatest survival horror game very made. You simply can't ignore this one.
  10. What, according to you, does a day in a billionaire's life look like? Thanks to Jordan Belfort from 'Wolf of the Wall Street', we can imagine most of it. But, that is reel-life. In real life, people who are rich beyond our imagination live just like us. There are days when they crave a burger, coke and fries; so they head to their favourite restaurant to grab one. No, they don't fly in their private chopper to get them airlifted from the restaurant, they stand in queue and patiently wait for their chance to come, JUST like any of us. Sounds impossible? Then maybe, it's just Bill Gates. © Reuters Microsoft founder, Bill Gates was spotted waiting in a line at Dick's Drive-In in Seattle over the weekend, for a burger meal that costs roughly around $8. Gates was standing casually in queue just like anyone else. If you thought he was some neighbourhood uncle waiting for his burger, trust me you won't be alone in thinking so. There was no celebrity air around him, and probably that's the reason why people around him couldn't identify him, or were in disbelief that the man standing in front of him is worth more than $95 billion. The picture was posted on social media by a man named Mike Galos, who mentioned that it was clicked by an ex-Microsoft employee and was originally posted on a closed Microsoft alumni board. He wrote, "When you're worth about $100,000,000,000, run the largest charity in the history of the world and stand in line for a burger, fries and Coke at Dick's like the rest of us...THIS is how real rich people behave unlike the gold toilet seat wannabe poser in the White House." People say, "A picture is worth a thousand words", but this picture of Bill Gates is a priceless souvenir of humility and modesty we all need to learn from.
  11. There used to be a time when Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte was a completely unknown name. Back in the day, with zero videos of her bouts online and not even a single news channel covering her progress, if you'd told her that one day, she is going to be ranked number 1 in the whole world by the International Boxing Federation (AIBA), she would have knocked you out cold with an uppercut for mocking her. #WWCHs2018 Finals - Light Fly (48kg)@MangteC (IND) defeats Mi Hyang Kim (PRK) and becomes 2018 AIBA World Champion!! Congratulations Mary ð¥ð¥ðª#AIBAFamily #ChampsBornHere @BFI_official pic.twitter.com/wlSLmbJHvB — AIBA (@AIBA_Boxing) November 24, 2018 When she was only 13, Mary knew that she wanted to become a professional boxer. Despite her soon-to-be coach Leishangthem Ibomcha Singh, who was responsible for bringing up around 50 international medal winners from within the state of Manipur, constantly challenging her, and her aspirations of becoming a pugilist, Mary, like any stubborn teenager, stuck to what she wanted. Living in an insurgency-bound Imphal, Mary's journey to success was full of constant terror and adversities. With endless reports of kidnappings, shootings and bombings ever since Manipur's merging with India, the idea of 'do whatever your heart says' wasn't exactly a number one priority for the people living there. In fact, the situation was so bad up there, that even Mary Kom's own father-in-law was murdered by the insurgents soon after she got married to Onler Kom in 2005. While there's no denying Mary Kom's hard work and raw passion for the sport that has taken her this far in life, it is Onler Kom, Mary's husband who has been her anchor during the experience. Full of compassion and regard for her wife, Onler has never backed out of supporting her dreams. “I knew her dreams and was ready to help her in every way," Onler told The Times of India. “I had my own dreams, but when I came to know her it changed… I married her for her simplicity and her willingness to become a successful sportswoman.” View this post on Instagram “A man's success is measured by what his wife and children say about him. With a lot of extra responsibilities on her shoulders as compared to any of her opponents along with the growing age, the 35-year-old, somehow, manages not only to take out time to train herself but also to train nearly 130 young and aspiring students at the Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation, an academy initiated by the boxer and her husband to inspire, motivate and train India's finest pugilists of all time. “This Boxing Academy is a reality of my dream of creating a Centre of excellence to produce the best boxing champions for India,” Mary Kom conveys her message on the website. Mary once said that there lies a story of struggle behind every medal that she's ever won. In her long, successful and inspirational career, the Arjuna and Padma Shri awardee has made and broken various records whilst becoming the most successful boxer in the history of Women's World Championships by winning a record 6th gold medal last year. Recently ranked Number One in the world, Mary Kom has no intentions of throwing in the towel just yet as she has already begun preparing for Tokyo Olympics 2020.
  12. After a savage fashion run in 2019, KJo of course would look forward to upping the ante this year, because that just makes sense. Now, what can be an ideal way to start it off? Wear something 'cray' to an NYE party, so that you can ring in the year in style. But it needs to be comfortable too, apart from being 'glam' enough for the occasion. It's no biggie though, when you're KJo. He just ticked off all the boxes in one swift fashion stroke by wearing a pair of trousers that screamed 'Happy New Year'. © Viral Bhayani Karan wore the 'Laminated sparkling GG jersey jogging pants' from Gucci. The sparkling fabric that emanated an elaborately festive iridescence was enough to make up for the lack of any jewellery (just take a look at the piece). © Gucci © Gucci Coming to how much the pair of jogging pants actually costs, it's worth $1,700, which when converted to Indian currency comes close to Rs 1.19 Lakhs. © Viral Bhayani When it comes to the overall outfit, the choice of black on top was clearly a well-thought out decision, because anything else would look out of place. © Viral Bhayani The silver platforms sneakers by Gucci was the perfect choice in terms of footwear because they provided a similar festive element, while being comfortable enough for KJo to dance the night away - and knowing him, he would have. After all, why hold back when you can afford to not? Happy New Year, Karan!

We don't know about your travel plans, but three Indians are currently making headlines for their week-long trip that is worth a whopping 10,000 crores. via GIPHY We're not talking about a sequel of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. 14. Ranveer Singh has been putting his best sartorial foot forward for his 'Simmba' promotions (when does he not, really?) From his Tiger Bappi jacket to his Gucci 'Loved' hoodie, the man has been pulling all the stops out, and he continues to do so. He just stepped out wearing a black leather jacket with gold studs that had us wide-eyed. Take a look. (c) Instagram.nikitajaisinghani (c) Viral Bhayani He's wearing the 'Inferno' jacket by Fausto Puglisi, that is spellbinding in terms of its construction and the glamorous, studded retro aesthetic. (c) Glamood (c) Glamood The jacket costs a whopping 4,755 Euros, which when converted to Indian currency, comes to Rs 3,80,747. Yes, you read that right. However, if that was not enough, there is another element in his outfit that stole the thunder from this piece of art. We're talking about the gold boots he is wearing. Take a look. (c) Instagram/nikitajaisinghani (c) Pinterest He's wearing the Signature Hedi Boot Zipped in Dark and Gold 40 Grained Metallic Leather from YSL. Even though it costs 'only' 695 Euros, that is INR 55, 650 (hey, they are inexpensive compared to that jacket!), they have our complete, unadulterated attention. 15. The 'Nickyanka' reception just happened, and as usual, DeepVeer stole most of their thunder by turning up in outfits that were fire. While Deepika sizzled in a sophisticated black and gold lehenga by Sabyasachi, Ranveer's Dhruv Vaish sherwani made all the heads turn. 16. One of the most anticipated movies of the year, 'Zero', starring Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, and two of B-town's most popular actresses Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, hit the big screens across the country this morning. And much like all things trending across the globe, the initial reactions and reviews for the movie have started pouring in on Twitter. The initial reactions seem like a mixed bag with some moviegoers even calling it a disappointment. Yet, people have good things to say about SRK's performance as Bauua Singh and Anushka's portrayal of a scientist with cerebral palsy. However, as many enthusiasts expected post the release of the song Heer Badnaam yesterday, Katrina seems to have delivered one of the best performances of her career yet. Tabloids so far have gone as low as a 1-star rating for the movie, such as The Quint and The Indian Express, while others likes NDTV, Times Now and Mumbai Mirror have given the movie two stars. So far the average movie rating boils down to a 3 out of 5 for 'Zero'. But let's see what the rest of the day, and the weekend ahead holds for SRK, Anushka and Katrina. 17. Mumbai winters are not really winters (Delhiites will confirm), but there still is a nip in the air that tells us it's time to bring out the 'winter wear'. Now, there isn't a huge difference between winter wear and your go-to layering pieces when you live in the 'Bae', and our Bolly boys know exactly how to balance the two out and use it to their advantage. Varun Dhawan just attended a kids' award show dressed up in a super dramatic jacket, that can also double up as a statement piece for a date night out by the beach. © Viral Bhayani There are multiple elements that make this jacket a collectable. Before we get into that, let's first take a look at how much it costs. This blue, red and white cotton checked denim jacket from Herman costs a whopping $1,851, which when translated to Indian currency, comes out to be worth Rs 1,32,845/- approximately. © Viral Bhayani The first thing that one would notice about this vibrant, yet classy piece, is the graphic at the back. 18. India's biggest electronic music festival 'Sunburn' is a place where the biggest names in the EDM world come and perform for thousands of people. However one thing the festival does better than most is provide a platform for Indian artists to showcase their talents and go toe to toe with the international scene. We all know about the Nucleya's and DIVINE's of the Indian music scene. But, here are some other Indian artists we're excited to see at the Sunburn Festival this year: Ritviz © Facebook/Ritviz The music Ritviz produces is heavily influenced by his classical musical background. He's one of the most promising young artists in the country right now and if you haven't heard his mesmerizing sounds yet, the Sunburn Festival 2018 is the perfect place to begin. Sartek © Facebook/Sartek Sarthak Sardana was the first Indian DJ to be featured on Revealed Recordings. He's been the opening act for some really big names in the music industry including Martin Garrix and Justin Bieber when they performed in India. With performances alongside such megastars already under his belt, we're expecting something amazing from him for sure. Progressive Brothers © Facebook/Progressive Brothers The Progressive Brothers is an Electronic/Dance Duo act consisting of Sunny Sharma and Karan Bhalla. When it comes to electronic music in India, you can't get far without speaking about these brilliant performers. If you've ever been for one of their shows, you'll be pumped to hear them again for sure! What's more, The Progressive Brothers have performed with DJ Snake in the past. Who knows, an encore might just be around the corner... Anish Sood ©: Facebook/Anish Sood A mechanical engineer, Anish's first brush with electronic music was A State Of Trance. He's another one who has performed with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Axwell ^ Ingrosso, Tiesto, and Afrojack. He's been associated with Sunburn on multiple occasions in the past and we can only hope that this time is going to be bigger and better than ever before.
  19. There're a very few shows that catch our attention in such a way that it becomes hard to get them out of our minds. In earlier times, 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' did that magic and in recent times, 'The Big Bang Theory' succeeded to create enough buzz to make us stick to it till the last season And trust me, it's not easy for a show to make you watch 12 seasons. It takes really great writing, acting, and direction to keep the audience stick for such a long period. Kudos to the team of 'The Big Bang Theory', they've done it wonderfully. Seeing the success of this show and our beloved Sheldon Cooper, the network launched a new show named 'Young Sheldon'. We all really wanted to know how Sheldon was when he was young. Was he a relatively normal child or even then had such tantrums? Did he have a spot even in the classroom? Did he have friends in school/ college? All these questions kept bugging us because Jim Parsons played the character of Sheldon so well that we wanted to know more and more about his childhood. And keeping the same in mind, the network gave us what we wanted – 'Young Sheldon'. I have watched all its episodes till date and I have mixed emotions towards the show. Of course, it's a delight to watch Sheldon Cooper go (read struggle) through the childhood and develop those annoying habits which make adult Sheldon the way he is. And it becomes even better when the show is narrated by Jim Parsons himself. The show has some great actors as well. Iain Armitage simply nailed the role of young Sheldon. You can actually see the glimpse of Jim Parsons in that kid. It's not easy to portray a character which someone already did so wonderfully. Iain performed it so well that young Sheldon realistically feels like the younger version of the adult Sheldon. And that's the biggest compliment I can give considering who played the adult Sheldon. Other characters also, be it Sheldon's mom, George, MeeMow, Missy, Georgie, they all really did justice to their roles. And if you don't already know, Zoe Perry, who is playing the role of young Sheldon's mother, is actually the daughter of Laurie Spencer, the actress who played the role of the mother of adult Sheldon in 'The Big Bang Theory'. No wonder the resemblance is so striking! Now, where this show is lacking is its writing. It's not a funny show overall. Sure it has its moments and it's fun to see the adventures of young Sheldon, but the show fails to make you laugh since its first episode. At the start, I thought some shows take time and this is one of such shows which would pick up the rhythm in the next season maybe. But unfortunately, that didn't happen. It is just another show which has a great potential but thanks to the average writing, it's not up to the mark. Long story short, 'Young Sheldon' is a delight to watch, but only if you want to know more about the character of Sheldon. You will be able to drag through the episodes just to see how Sheldon became what he is. But if you want to watch it as an independent show, it is a disappointment. Watch it only if you're a huge fan of Sheldon Cooper. Else, there are other great series available to binge watch.

  21. OnePlus is back with it's T-series smartphone that we've been waiting for a few weeks. October has been full of smartphone launches globally, but the OnePlus 6T has been one of the most awaited ones so far thanks to OnePlus' track record of launching a near perfect flagship that isn't too hard on the pocket. The OnePlus 6 is undoubtedly one of the best Android's out there, but the 6T strives to take this a notch further. Starting with the design, OnePlus has incorporated a new water-droplet style notch that is much smaller, giving a higher screen-to-body ratio of 86 percent. (c) OnePlus Though, the most interesting addition to the phone is an in-display fingerprint scanner that OnePlus calls Screen Unlock. We've first seen this technology in action on the Vivo X21, and OnePlus says it has refined the user experience a lot. Meaning, it is faster as well as more accurate. You probably won't be able to see a difference between the in-display scanner and a physical one. It is an optical sensor and hence needs a physical touch to read a 3D image of your finger, and the company says it can unlock your phone in just 0.34 seconds. It has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It has five calibration settings that include default, sRGB, DCP-P3, Adaptive, and Cinema mode. The chin and the bezels have been further reduced to provide a more immersive experience. Twitter / @michaeljosh Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 6GB RAM in the base variant. On the OnePlus 6T, the 3.5mm headphone jack is no more. Yes, after taking multiple hits at Apple, OnePlus has moved on and expects you to use the USB-C port to the fullest. On the rear, it has a dual camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel primary lens and a 20-megapixel secondary depth sensor while the front has a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. The camera app supports portrait mode, beautification, as well as a pro-mode. The rear camera brings in Optical Image Stabilisation along with Electronic Image Stabilisation for the smoothest possible video output. (c) OnePlus OnePlus has added a new Nightscape mode that aims to improve the output of low-light images and even the portrait mode has been heavily enhanced to produce a refined bokeh effect. Backing these specifications is a larger 3700mAh battery. The phone runs on Oxygen OS skin that based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. The phone is available in three variants, the 6GB+128GB variant costs US$ 549 (Rs 40,000), the 8GB+128GB variant costs US$ 579 (Rs 42,500), and finally the 8GB+256GB variant costs US$ 629 (Rs 46,200). It will be available in Midnight Black (matte finish) and Mirror Black (glass finish) options. Seven aftermarket cases are available for the phone along with the Wireless Bullets earphones as well.
  22. There was a time when the top smartphone brands in India included Micromax, Karbonn and Intex. Those days are long gone, new entrants in the market have completely changed the dynamics in the last few years and homegrown brands are nowhere to be seen. The top four smartphone brands in India include Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, OPPO, and Huawei. Out of these, only Samsung is from South Korea, and all others are based out of China. According to a report in The Economic Times, consumers have spent more than Rs 50,000 crore in the financial year of 2018, buying smartphones made by the top four Chinese brands. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The figure has nearly doubled than the last financial year and the the current trend suggests it will further increase. The top four here includes Xiaomi, currently India's top smartphone maker in terms of sales volume, followed by Vivo with a market share of 10 percent and OPPO at 8 percent. Other markers like Lenovo (includes Moto lineup), OnePlus, and Infinix make up more than half of the total Indian smartphone market by sales. These Chinese brands have completely saturated the market and placed their products in every possible price segment to lure the buyer. With global operations, these companies have managed to focus on India and the latest products have been coming in at a much faster pace now. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia While these brands are based out of China, they have heavily invested themselves in the country. In accordance with the government's Make in India initiative, all the major manufacturers have local assembly lines in the country. Local sourcing of phones ensures that employment is generated in the region and the companies are able to avoid high import duties. Xiaomi has already announced a plan to invest Rs 15,000 crore in setting up assembly lines while OPPO already has two facilities in Uttar Pradesh. Vivo employs more than 5,000 people in its plant and even Samsung (South Korean brand) has opened it's largest facility in the world at Noida. © Xiaomi The combined sales of these four smartphone makers doubled to Rs 51,722 crore from Rs 26,262 crore in FY17. The Indian smartphone market is valued at a whopping Rs 1.5 lakh crore in FY18. In Q3 2018 itself, more than 44 million smartphone units were shipped.

  24. Uber and rival Ola are experiencing service disruptions in Mumbai and Delhi, as driver partners are participating in a strike to protest falling incomes and incentives. If you're leaning on booking a cab via these apps for something urgent or important, it's better to keep a better commuting option as a backup. The protest has led to a shortage of aggregator cabs in parts of the city and a dynamic surge pricing has increased existing fares up to three times. The primary reason for the protest is diminishing income for the driver partners amid rising fuel costs. Automotive fuel in the country has been on a steady rise since the last six months and has increased by 20 per cent. © Reuters Fuel is a core factor in this business, and the fares being charged to the end consumer remain the same. Hence, cab aggregation companies have cut down on incentives, and the direct income being earned has also drastically lowered. “An Ola or Uber driver is now earning only Rs 4.30 per km compared with Rs 15-20 per km a few years ago. Driver incentives have also fallen by 80% since 2016,” said Anand Kunte, advisor of Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh to the Economic Times. My @Uber_Delhi driver was extremely articulate. He asked me what I knew about their economics. Then he explained: "Uber/Ola take 60% of what you pay. Uber charges you over Rs 10/km, gives me 6.40 less 20%. My fuel expenses are 3.50 / km. I'm left with less than 1.70/km." 2/4 — Prasanto K Roy (@prasanto) October 21, 2018 The drivers have staged a protest outside Uber's office in Mumbai with placards saying “Uber go back” and “Ola is the biggest thief”. The strike in Delhi is even more tense thanks to the closure of many petrol stations, who themselves are protesting rising fuel prices. Drivers have complained that even after driving for 16-17 hours every day, they take home a paltry amount that is insufficient to run a family of three. A lot of these partners have also acquired cars on loans and need to pay off EMI instalments. © BCCL While there are many drivers who don't want to participate in the protest, the local unions and communities are making sure that no cabs ply on the road, to prove that a majority of the partners are agitated. Uber said in a statement: "We regret the disruption caused to our rider and driver-partner community, due to a small group of individuals." It is committed to ensuring that drivers "continue to access a stable income", it added.
  25. While most of us are either underpaid, overworked, or completely frustrated in our respective jobs, there are some who have no reasons to complain because they have the best boss in the world. Savji Dholakia is one such boss whose employees are probably one of the happiest people, thanks to his generous acts of kindness. For those who don't know about this man, he's the same businessman from Surat and owner of Hari Krishna Exports, who gifted his employees 400 flats and 1260 cars two years ago. Hari Krishna Exports This time around, he gifted three Mercedes-Benz GLS SUVs worth Rs 1 crore each to three of his senior staff members. Why? Because they completed 25 years at the company. Reportedly, the employees Nilesh Jada (40), Mukesh Chandpara (38) and Mahesh Chandpara (43) were handed the car keys at an event in Surat by Madhya Pradesh Governor and former Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. They joined the company in their early teens and looked after the management, cleaving and manufacturing departments. YouTube Dholakia told The Times Of India, "These three had joined us when they were just around 13 or 15 years old. They started with learning to cut diamonds and polish it and now they are not only experts but most senior and one of the most trusted people of our country." He further said, "I felt we must recognize their work and loyalty to the company and so I decided to gift them these cars as our gratitude to them and their loyalty and hard work." Now that's one boss I am sure most of us will want to work with.
