It’s here. The trailer of one of the most awaited television sagas in the world. HBO has finally released the first trailer for Game of Thrones season 7 and if it’s anything to go by, then we know one thing for certain: A war is coming.
The trailer opens with Daenerys Targaryen’s voice, talking about her father, The Mad King; this is followed by Aerys’ voice creaming out, ‘Burn them all’. It fades into Robert Baratheon pledging to kill every Targaryen he could get his hands on. Cersei’s voice warns that anyone who isn’t a Lannister is an enemy. A few moments later, Roose Bolton gives Catelyn Stark the Lannisters’ regards before her blood-curdling scream fills your ears…
The trailer is like a stopwatch playing from beginning to end—all that has happened so far, in a nutshell. It reminds us of what has happened so far and where we were left hanging. It’s about the sigils of every house in the realm; towards the end of the trailer, each of the sigils—carved out of rock—break away and crumble to the floor, showing that, in the end, there is only one war that is coming for everyone. It’s the Great War and it’s going to pit fire against ice.
We’re sitting on tenterhooks here, to say the least; especially now that HBO has gone and given us a premiere date for the seventh season, as well. 16th July 2017, my friends, is when shit will go down. Brace yourselves; there’s a war coming.
